00:00Hello, my name is Adrian Scott. I'm representing the Bolserstone Community Group.
00:23Now who knows where Bolserstone is?
00:28It's quite a few that don't. It's at the top of the hill, looking over Stocksbridge.
00:33It's a very lovely village, very full of history.
00:38We've got a very simple bit, a request from you, to help us replace the information boards
00:44that describe our heritage trail around Bolserstone,
00:48and improve the appearance of the entry point into the village,
00:53which I will go on to talk about in Leviton in a while.
00:57The purpose of our group, the Bolserstone Community Group,
01:01is to enhance the environment of Bolserstone Village for its residents and visitors.
01:08We're not a charity, so we have limited access to funds,
01:12but despite that, over the last 20 years we've provided elegant boundary stones at the three entry points into the village,
01:20as well as a lamp post for more in keeping with village architecture than the modern equivalent.
01:25We've provided benches for people to sit and rest, and several planted stone troughs.
01:32We already get a lot of visitors to the village, as it's a great starting point for walkers, cyclists, bird-washers, dog-wilders.
01:40And we anticipate a lot more visitors following the new housing department in Deepcar and Stocks Bridge.
01:48If you haven't been to Bolserstone, let me tell you what you might find when you come.
01:53We've got a church, we've got a pub, we've got two ancient school halls,
01:58one of which dates back to the 17th century.
02:02The crime is not a problem in Bolserstone.
02:05We've got stocks, which...
02:08We've got a couple of days at least three people.
02:12One-legged people, we've got six in, but as I say, it hasn't been used for some time.
02:19We've got a recent, new, very exciting acquisition,
02:22which is a Grade 2 listed telephone box.
02:29We're still trying to decide what to do with it.
02:32Some people suggested it could be rented out through an Airbnb lounge.
02:36We're not sure about the castle that it's supposed to be a lodge for,
02:44but there is a lot of debate about where the Bolserstone did have a castle in the park.
02:49And, of course, there is the Bolsterstone.
02:54Very exciting stone in the churchyard.
02:57It comes in.
02:59And if this wasn't enough, and I know I've told you about all the exciting things in the village,
03:05but we also have a public toilet, which is open daily and gone to dust.
03:12We've recently acquired a bus stop with a bus and a lot of them.
03:18So visitors, we hope to follow a heritage trail using the information boards.
03:25They are badly worn and need of replacing and have somewhat happened to them.
03:31So we're wanting to work with the Sealed Valley Project.
03:35I don't know if I mentioned it here.
03:38We're hoping to work with the Sealed Valley Project to consult a local community,
03:44replace and update the information provided on the information boards.
03:49Our bid is to fund their replacement and generally improve the main entry point into the village
03:54with a bench close to the bus stop and trots and clouds.
03:58Please support our modest bid.
04:01We realise it may not be your first choice,
04:03but you'd be happy with second or third choice to give us a price and chance.
04:08How much do you want to take?
04:19How much do you want to take in?
04:22How much do you ask people?
04:27£4,000!
