USC Trojans Coach Lincoln Riley, Safety Bishop Fitzgerald, and Quarterback Jayden Maiava discuss the programs toughness and physicality even though they were missing some players that are starters but their stats were really good against Michigan.
Transcript
00:00You've talked a lot about development in your time at USC tonight.
00:03No D.J. Winfield, no Elijah Page, no Killian O'Connor,
00:07no sacks allowed by that offensive line.
00:09You rushed for over 200 yards.
00:10What does tonight say about your development, especially in the offensive?
00:13Yeah, I mean, I think it says we're a tough-ass physical program.
00:19That's what it says.
00:20And, yeah, I mean, to play, you know, that defense, that defensive line,
00:24a lot of really good players up there.
00:26Have their performance that they did, minus three starters.
00:29I don't think many offenses, many offensive lines in the country
00:33would have been able to do that, minus three starters.
00:35So, yeah, and I think – and then equally, I would say, you know,
00:39a performance of our defensive line, you know, really controlling the game,
00:43you know, harassing the quarterback.
00:44We did a good job closing space in a run game.
00:47You know, we just – it was – there was a complete performance on the line of scrimmage,
00:52and that's where it always starts in football.
00:53It doesn't matter what league you're at.
00:54It doesn't matter what school you're at.
00:55It doesn't matter who you're playing.
00:56It doesn't matter who you're at.
01:00And, like, it always starts there, and we won the line of scrimmage tonight.
