00:18I am now in the Chinese capital to inform you about the Global Leaders' Meeting on Women,

00:25held in Beijing with the participation of international leaders and UN representatives,

00:34aimed to strengthen gender equality and accelerate the comprehensive development of women around the world.

00:44This day, this meeting, during this summit, the Chinese President, Xi Jinping, presented four key proposals,

00:56including the protection of women and girls in regions affected by conflicts, poverty or natural disaster,

01:06and the need to combat all forms of gender-based violence.

01:13He also emphasized the importance of ensuring that all women can benefit from the economic globalization and technological innovation.

01:27As well, he strengthened the strength of institutions' laws and public policies,

01:36to secure access to quality health and education resources.

01:43At the international level, China announced important things,

01:49like the financial contribution to the United Nations Women,

01:54including $100 million from the Global and South-South Corporation Fund,

02:01for women's and girls' developments.

02:04Projects of 1,000 Projects of the Livehood Projects,

02:10as a priority and the invitation of 50,000 women to participate in an exchange and training programs.

02:22In addition, a new center dedicated to strengthening global capacity of gender issues will be established.
