Bronwyn Newport’s Father Died Shortly After ‘RHOSLC’ Season 6 Wrapped: ‘There Was So Much Stress’

00:00Yeah, absolutely does. I adore and love my mom, but we're both very different and very willing

00:07to tell each other what we're different about. And it's been really interesting, I think, for my mom

00:13to be in a different capacity with me, living at my house, having some health challenges.

00:20We lost my dad right after filming wrapped. So during filming, I think an important thing for

00:26people to know is that we were in the process of losing my dad and there was so much stress at

00:30home for me. But obviously, my mom's gone from being my mom and Gwen's grandma to us taking care

00:37of her and her living with us. And I think that's been a really hard transition for her. I think as

00:43you get older, even in my own role with my daughter, when I'm not her mom, I'm more of a support system

00:49or a friend. I do feel like a loss of control that's very destabilizing. And I think that also

00:54helped kind of push my mom and I have tension for sure. And all these changes really pushed it

01:00all to the surface. And I'm hoping you see, we have some really, my dad had dementia and Alzheimer's

01:06before he passed. Oh, I'm sorry. It's the hardest, slowest, most miserable way to lose someone. I feel

01:12like you lose them really slowly in little pieces. But we filmed, obviously be respectful of my dad and

01:18his ability to consent to filming. But we did film small things with him. And it's something I know

01:24I'm going to look back on it and be so happy that we have that footage.

01:27So I've been very honest since before my first season came out that I did Housewives

01:32very clearly knowing that it was a big platform. And I feel like the work I do with the women

01:39showing our lives was kind of hopefully a pathway to other projects I wanted. I've done the SAG and

01:45the Emmy red carpets talking about people's outfits and the history behind them. And that's kind of what

01:49my passion is, is absolutely the history of fashion always. I've loved autobiographies since

01:56I first got into them as like a middle schooler. I just think it's so interesting, not just what

02:01stories happen in people's lives, but which ones they choose to articulate themselves.

02:05And I think clothes are kind of the same way. Every day we get up and put something on and

02:08it's telling the world something about ourselves, right? So yeah.
