00:00Today I'm interviewing one of the most defining figures from the last quarter century of celebrity
00:05history a true icon Paris Hilton and I started our careers around the same
00:10time in the two thousands I wrote about her in the pages of the magazines I've worked for she was the
00:15original influencer as the socialite queen of the nightlife with the famous last name
00:20after a very public betrayal involving a leaked sex tape Paris did something people did
00:25expect she leveraged her notoriety and built a ground-breaking reality show
00:30an entertainment empire that she estimates to be worth one billion dollars today
00:35she's a multi-hyphenate entrepreneur with ventures in music fashion skincare and even
00:40as 30 fragrances and for many people the idea of Paris Hilton still comes
00:45up someone impossibly unrelatable wrapped in luxury and privilege she's the last
00:50person you'd imagine to be just like us but in recent years Paris has evolved beyond
00:55just being a successful businesswoman she's become more vulnerable and opened up to tell her full
01:00story and what was really going on behind the glitter and glamour in doing so she's made
01:05valuable contributions to the world in a 2020 documentary this is Paris she told her how
01:10the following story of being sent off to Utah's Provo Canyon School and became an advocate for
01:15survivors of the troubled teen industry leading to the passing of legislation reform she also
01:20uses her platform to talk about the misogynistic treatment of women in media and her charity
01:25work including launching funds for wildlife relief and is a vocal advocate for animals
01:30called Hawaiian and for international welfare and for the neurodivergent and the LGBTQ communities
01:35So although Paris may live the high life and may or may not have an entire...
01:40...dedicated to her 10,000 pairs of sunglasses, she has challenges and setbacks that...
01:45...to reveal, she may just be just like us. Today we'll dive deep into her life and...
01:50...documentary Infinite Icon, a visual memoir and assess how just like us...
01:55...this is Paris Hilton.
02:00So do you have a room for 10,000 sunglasses?
02:04I have lots of sunglasses.
02:05And that was at my other house that I just moved into. So this house...
02:10...has my glam room and it has my 10,000 sunglasses in it, yeah.
02:14So I like to start...
02:15...at my interviews with a little ritual about something personal about the person...
02:19...and I was so dumb.
02:20Confounded that you have 30 perfumes. I asked your team to send me some.
02:25...so that we could test them. So tell me about this one.
02:28This is my 30th fragrance.
02:30And it's called Iconic. And it is so beautiful. It has like...
02:34It really...
02:35...the rose tint. I love rose.
02:37Yes.
02:38It's like peony, raspberry...
02:40...rose. Those are some of the notes. And it's just like...
02:45...the house is just like very...
02:47...light, summery.
02:49...gorgeous.
02:50And I feel like men and women could both wear it.
02:53I would... I wear rose tint tones.
02:55And sometimes.
02:56I love it.
02:57What...
02:58If you've got 30 perfumes, how do you decide what...
03:00...to wear in the morning?
03:02I...
03:03...just kind of like what mood I'm in.
03:05I love that I have one literally for like every day of the month because there's 30.
03:08And do you only wear your own?
03:09Yeah.
03:10Yes.
03:11I've not worn another person's perfume since I was a little girl.
03:14But it's such a...
03:15...because when I was a little girl I would always go into my mom's boudoir and she collects perfumes.
03:20And my sister and I would be playing with all of them.
03:22And I was like, Mom, one day I'm going to have my own perfume.
03:25So...
03:25So now to have just released my 30th is just another dream come true.
03:28Well, it's not just like us to have...
03:30...but they are quite reasonable, right?
03:32What a surprise point.
03:33Yes.
03:34These are at Ulta Beauty.
03:35And for the size, this one's 80.
03:38So we're here in your craft room.
03:40And this helps your ADHD, right?
03:42It does.
03:43This is like...
03:44If you...
03:45If you looked inside my mind, what it looks like.
03:47I feel like the camera can't see at all because like...
03:50...the top with the rainbow and the butterflies, the clouds.
03:53Like...
03:54It feels like a dream.
03:55And when I walk in here with the kids, like we have so much fun doing art and just hanging out and...
04:00It's also my office and I love being able to look out the window and see...
04:05...like my 11-11 office and the waterfall and the just beautiful backyard.
04:10And all of it.
04:11It just...
04:12It's your safe space.
04:13Yeah.
04:14It just literally looks...
04:15Like when I was little, I would make like mood boards and like manifest what I wanted.
04:20In life, I really...
04:21Like this is what it was.
04:22And crafting gives you that...
04:23Yeah.
04:24That safe space.
04:25I love it.
04:26Well, you're...
04:27We're here in your home.
04:28It's absolutely beautiful.
04:29It's Beverly Hills.
04:30It is not quite just like us, but it is very unapologetically you.
04:35Are there any elements of just like us around the house?
04:38Are there like piles of unfolded lawns?
04:40Are there laundry?
04:41Are there dishes fill in the sink?
04:42I feel like it's just like...
04:45Any other family's house with kids.
04:47You know, there's toys everywhere.
04:49There's...
04:50Of course, like the laundry room as a laundry.
04:52Um, but then also we have like a water slide and...
04:55Like the pink tennis court and all the other fun things.
04:59It's like...
05:00The ultimate fun house.
05:01Like I feel like this is like the house I dreamed of since I was a little girl.
05:05So it's fabulous, but it's relatable and family just like everybody else.
05:09Just like regular folks.
05:10And I think that's what your new documentary really shows as well.
05:14It's an...
05:15It's an exploration into the human side of you, just like our side of you.
05:19Because it shows your...
05:20Life as a music icon and it marries that with the vulnerability of what...
05:25You've gone through.
05:26Behind the stardust and the glitter, it says I am...
05:30You're human.
05:31Like what do you want people to take away from the documentary?
05:34I feel that...
05:35This is really like a third part of a trilogy.
05:38Like the first time I really opened up...
05:40And, you know, showed people who I was, was through my first documentary.
05:44This is Paris.
05:45And then going even deeper through my memoir.
05:48And now in this part...
05:50With Infinite Icon, it's like my whole life through the lens of music.
05:55And just going back, you know, from the beginning, since I was a...
06:00Little Girl and all these dreams that I had.
06:02But then just going into so much more.
06:05Because I feel like within these past five years, I've just been on this whole journey.
06:10Of self-discovery and just learning so much and healing so much.
06:15And just so much has happened.
06:16So I just wanted to show that story and...
06:20I feel like it's also a story that others can relate to as well.
06:22I think we're going to talk through lots of those different points.
06:25On there, but to start with the music, I loved seeing you on the stage and so happy.
06:30And it being such a fulfilling journey.
06:32How does it feel to be up there when you're performing?
06:35When I'm on stage, it feels like the most incredible, magical feeling.
06:40In the world, just seeing everyone in the audience so happy and...
06:45excited and screaming and crying and singing along and dancing and just the...
06:50energy and love in the room is like another level.
06:53And when I'm up there, I just feel like...
06:55this was what I was born to do.
06:56It's funny because I've followed your career and worked with...
07:00you and covered your career for so long.
07:03And I never realized that music...
07:05was the pure love.
07:07And so, like, it made me wonder watching...
07:10the documentary.
07:11Do you feel that becoming famous before you explore music...
07:15hampered your ability to become a pop star quicker?
07:18Yeah, I do.
07:19I think that...
07:20just, you know, from doing The Simple Life, like a reality show...
07:23I think anyone who does reality...
07:25and then if they go into music...
07:27you're just not going to be taken seriously.
07:29And...
07:30especially during the early 2000s...
07:32when just the media...
07:34was...
07:35just extremely cruel to young women in the industry.
07:38So...
07:40it was always...
07:41really hurtful to me because it was just such a dream of mine,
07:44you know.
07:45ever since I could remember what I'd love to do...
07:47since I was literally, like, three years old.
07:49Like...
07:50I just...
07:51always wanted to be a pop star...
07:52but...
07:53I just felt that...
07:54my music didn't...
07:55didn't get the chance that it deserved...
07:56because...
07:57the media was controlling everything back then...
07:59and...
08:00now today, with social media, I'm actually able to hear what...
08:03the fans and people really think.
08:05so...
08:06And you can control your own narrative...
08:07and have your own voice.
08:08Yes, exactly.
08:09Well, I was a part of that media...
08:10you were at the time...
08:11I don't think I was mean to you...
08:12but I'd like to apologise...
08:13and...
08:14but...
08:15have you got any questions...
08:15for me about, like, at that time...
08:17covering the media and how unfair it was?
08:19Like...
08:20for you, I'm sure, just being in...
08:22the newsroom...
08:23Yeah.
08:24like...
08:25were you ever...
08:25pressured for them...
08:26to try...
08:27to make you...
08:28do or say things that you felt...
08:29like...
08:30uncomfortable asking?
08:31like...
08:32you felt like it was...
08:33going too far sometimes?
08:34I think there were times when there were...
08:35stories...
08:36where...
08:37I look back...
08:38and I'm like...
08:39why...
08:40did...
08:41they take that...
08:42direction...
08:43and it questions...
08:44I think...
08:45I believe media reflects society...
08:47and society was meaner back then...
08:49and that's...
08:50what people wanted...
08:51now people don't...
08:52want that...
08:53there's different meaner elements...
08:54on social media...
08:55but I think it's an...
08:56interesting question...
08:57or I think...
08:58there are certainly things...
08:59I regret being involved in.
09:00back at the time...
09:01and...
09:02I think the media has done better...
09:03in recent years...
09:04and I hope you find that...
09:05as well...
09:06definitely...
09:07I know that...
09:08so many of the things...
09:09you know...
09:10the way that...
09:10myself and other girls...
09:11were treated back then...
09:12would not happen today...
09:13it would not be accepted...
09:14so at least it's...
09:15changed for other people...
09:16so I think that's...
09:17like the silver lining...
09:18you had to go for...
09:19a lot of pain...
09:20to get there...
09:21a big theme from the documentary...
09:22of music saving your life...
09:23tell me...
09:24how that worked for you...
09:25just...
09:27you know...
09:28just from going through...
09:29so many traumatic experiences...
09:30as a teenager...
09:32and...
09:33you know...
09:34it was just so...
09:35painful...
09:36and traumatizing...
09:37and...
09:38when I got out...
09:39of those boarding schools...
09:40I just remember...
09:41like when I would...
09:42go out at night...
09:43it was like...
09:44the one thing...
09:45that I would just...
09:45forget about...
09:46all the pain...
09:47and just like...
09:48lose myself in the music...
09:49and have so much fun...
09:50and I just...
09:50felt...
09:51like this whole community...
09:52or I just felt...
09:53so accepted...
09:54and...
09:55no one was...
09:56judgmental...
09:55it was just...
09:56all about having...
09:57an incredible time...
09:58and...
09:59just...
10:00I don't know...
10:01I just...
10:02I love music...
10:03I love to dance...
10:04I love the lights...
10:05I love...
10:06the people...
10:05the escapism...
10:06yeah...
10:07you've been through...
10:08so much...
10:09and you touched...
10:10on some of it there...
10:10what has been...
10:11the hardest thing...
10:12to recover from...
10:13you've dealt with...
10:14sexual abuse...
10:15as a kid...
10:15so...
10:16the sex tape...
10:17the media treatment...
10:18what was the...
10:19what's...
10:20been the hardest...
10:20thing to heal from...
10:21do you think?
10:22hmm...
10:23all of it...
10:24you know...
10:25I think...
10:25these are things...
10:26that will...
10:27definitely affect me...
10:28for the rest of my life...
10:29but...
10:30especially...
10:30being...
10:31in these schools...
10:32which...
10:33my parents were told...
10:34it was called...
10:35a...
10:35emotional growth...
10:36boarding schools...
10:37and...
10:38they were sold...
10:39a lie...
10:40these places...
10:41are so many...
10:40manipulative...
10:41and...
10:42their marketing tactics...
10:43everything...
10:44they had brochures...
10:45where kids were...
10:45smiling...
10:46and...
10:47there was like...
10:48rainbows...
10:49and people were...
10:50riding horses...
10:51and everyone...
10:52looked so happy...
10:53in that situation...
10:54and...
10:55it was terrifying...
10:56just to be around...
10:57these adults...
10:58who...
10:58were literally...
10:59abusing...
11:00all of us...
11:01in so many ways...
11:02and...
11:03it's just...
11:04it took...
11:05many years...
11:06for me...
11:07to even talk about it...
11:08it was so...
11:08traumatizing...
11:09where it took me...
11:10you know...
11:1120 years...
11:12to even tell anyone...
11:13why do you think...
11:14there was...
11:15a shame...
11:16attached to it...
11:17definitely...
11:18and I think that's...
11:18the way they get away...
11:19with it...
11:20where they shame...
11:21the kids in these places...
11:22so much...
11:23where they're...
11:23we...
11:24were just too...
11:25embarrassed...
11:26and scared...
11:27to talk about it...
11:28and it was just...
11:28so...
11:29the things that happened...
11:30were just so like...
11:31crazy...
11:32it just...
11:33it...
11:33you wouldn't feel like...
11:34anyone would believe you...
11:35or...
11:36and...
11:37you kind of...
11:38go into...
11:38being told you're a bad kid...
11:39this is why you're here...
11:40yeah...
11:41and it just...
11:42it was just...
11:43it's horrible...
11:44what they do in these places...
11:45and plus...
11:46they get away with it...
11:47because they can...
11:48say to the parents...
11:48oh...
11:49they're...
11:50they're bad kids...
11:51they're lying...
11:52they're manipulating...
11:53they're trying to...
11:54you know...
11:55go home...
11:53so they're gonna say...
11:54that we're abusing them...
11:55they're gonna say this...
11:56they kind of tell the parents...
11:57what they're actually doing...
11:58they're lying...
11:59they're lying...
12:00and of course...
12:01if you're sending your child...
12:02to a place...
12:03and you think...
12:03they're gonna be protected...
12:04and you have no idea...
12:05the type of people...
12:06that work at these places...
12:08it's...
12:09you know...
12:10a recipe for disaster...
12:11I mean...
12:12I read some of...
12:13in your memoir...
12:13that...
12:14you're encouraged...
12:15to verbally abuse...
12:16each other...
12:17and then hug each other...
12:18afterwards...
12:18to untangle...
12:19mental abuse like that...
12:20it's...
12:21it just...
12:22I don't understand it...
12:23it blows my mind...
12:24how they think...
12:25that that's therapy...
12:26and when you go...
12:27into a place...
12:28and you...
12:28come out...
12:29more traumatized...
12:30than when you went in...
12:31Did it make you scared...
12:32of therapy...
12:33after that?
12:34Yeah...
12:33I've never had therapy...
12:34You've never had...
12:35therapy after that...
12:36because...
12:37it made me not...
12:38trust anyone...
12:38especially...
12:39people...
12:40like therapists...
12:41because I just thought...
12:42they were all...
12:43those type of people...
12:43and...
12:44um...
12:45it was just...
12:46a neat...
12:47that being a mom...
12:48it just makes me...
12:49even more...
12:50just...
12:51upset...
12:52and that's why...
12:53I just want to...
12:54continue...
12:55fighting...
12:56and using...
12:57leave them...
12:58in so many years...
12:59until...
13:00I've told my story...
13:01and now...
13:02it's started...
13:03an entire movement...
13:04it's been so difficult...
13:05especially for my mom...
13:06and dad to hear...
13:07about these things...
13:08because they had...
13:09no idea...
13:10the forgiveness...
13:11like even though...
13:12they were tricked...
13:13the forgiveness...
13:14process for you...
13:15with that...
13:14it must have been...
13:15so difficult...
13:16because I knew...
13:17that they had no idea...
13:18because that's...
13:19none of the parents...
13:20knew that this was happening...
13:21and...
13:22um...
13:23it's been...
13:24yeah...
13:25it's been like...
13:26a whole...
13:27my mom has just been...
13:28so...
13:29sad...
13:30just to hear...
13:31what has happened...
13:32and she's been...
13:33coming with me...
13:34to DC...
13:34to help speak...
13:35with the other parents...
13:36and...
13:37to let them know...
13:38her story as well...
13:39because it's important...
13:39for other families to know...
13:40because I feel like...
13:41the parents are just as much...
13:42the victims in this...
13:43well thank...
13:44thank you for using...
13:45your voice for good...
13:46thank you...
13:47it's been...
13:48the most meaningful...

14:12music's been something...
14:13that really has helped...
14:14to escape...
14:14and to disassociate...
14:15with a lot of the pain...
14:16and the healing...
14:17what...
14:18what...
14:19do you think...
14:19would have happened...
14:20if you didn't have music...
14:21to help you?
14:22I don't know...
14:23I think...
14:24out of thinking...
14:25of everything in my life...

14:34like the power...
14:35in music...
14:36and...
14:37even the power...
14:38in listening to a lyric...
14:39and a song...
14:39like something...
14:40that could change your mood...
14:41or even change your life...
14:42and...
14:43just so many...
14:44of my fans...
14:45have come up to me...
14:46and said...
14:47thank you so much...
14:48for your album...
14:49it saved my life...
14:49like...
14:50thank you for your memoir...
14:51you have no idea...
14:52how much it means to me...
14:53so just to see...
14:54like the impact...
14:55it could make...
14:56on someone's life...
14:57and...
14:58I love that I'm able now...
14:59to have these...
14:59concerts...
15:00and create these...
15:01safe spaces...
15:02where my fans can come...
15:03and...
15:04dress up...
15:05however they want to...
15:04wear like...
15:05these outfits...
15:06and have so much fun...
15:07and just...
15:08lose their self...
15:09in my music...
15:09and have the most...
15:10incredible night...
15:11and forget about...
15:12anything bad...
15:13that's happening...
15:14in their life...
15:14what's...
15:15what's the darkest moment...
15:16you've been through...
15:17was it in...
15:18Provo?
15:19yes...
15:20just the...
15:21things that happened...
15:22to those places...
15:23should never happen to it...
15:24anyone...
15:25and especially...
15:26not a child...
15:27and...
15:28just...
15:29being terrified...
15:30every single day...
15:31of like...
15:32what was gonna happen next...
15:33and then having...
15:34severe nightmares about it...
15:36for...
15:37you know...
15:3820 years...
15:39until I started talking...
15:39telling my story...
15:40Were there moments...
15:41where you didn't want...
15:42to be here anymore?
15:43What...
15:44when I was in there...
15:45I was...
15:46it felt...
15:47everyone I felt...
15:48felt that way...
15:49like...
15:50you just...
15:49was like...
15:50it would be better...
15:51not to live...
15:52than being in these...
15:53type of places...
15:54um...
15:56but...
15:57it did make me really strong...
15:58where...
15:59it almost...
15:59prepared me...
16:00for Hollywood...
16:01in a sense...
16:02because I don't know...
16:03if I could have...
16:04survived the two...
16:042000s...
16:05and the way...
16:06I was treated...
16:07unless I had already...
16:08been through...
16:09such hell before...
16:09documentary...
16:10there was a line...
16:11that really stuck with me...
16:12where you said...
16:13life doesn't stop...
16:14life doesn't stop...
16:15with the drama...
16:16so neither should you...
16:17and I found it...
16:18really interesting...
16:19and something...
16:20I've tried to embrace...
16:21like...
16:22life is crazy...
16:23and bad things...
16:24are always gonna happen...
16:25and you've just...
16:24got to...
16:25power through...
16:26and we see that...
16:27in the documentary...
16:28when the fire...
16:29happens in the trailer...
16:29and you're...
16:30you've just...
16:31got to keep going...
16:32it's a pivotal moment...
16:33in the production...
16:34of the...
16:34at all...
16:35how do you...
16:36manage to carry on...
16:37when bad things happen...
16:38and...
16:39you're somebody who...
16:39things have happened...
16:40constantly...
16:41and you...
16:42are always smiling...
16:43you're always positive...
16:44from going...
16:44through so much...
16:45in my life...
16:46it's made me...
16:47so strong...
16:48and resilient...
16:49where...
16:50I can make it...
16:49through anything...
16:50so no matter what...
16:51life throws at me...
16:52it just continues...
16:53to make me...
16:54stronger...
16:55every single time...
16:56well...
16:57I'm loving...
16:58this pop journey...
16:59what...
16:59do you want to do...
17:00next...
17:01with your pop career...
17:02this has just been...
17:03so...
17:04so much fun...
17:05just...
17:06living out my dreams...
17:07and now...
17:08I've been in the...
17:09studio...
17:10the past year...
17:11and just finishing up...
17:12my third album...
17:13which will be...
17:14really...
17:14released next year...
17:15and I can't wait...
17:16we have a big tour...
17:17planned...
17:18so I can't wait...
17:19to perform...
17:19around the world...
17:20and then get started...
17:21on my fourth album...
17:22this is what...
17:23I love to do...
17:24more than anything...
17:25Have you got...
17:26advice from your...
17:27musical friends...
17:28like Brittany?
17:29we were just talking...
17:30about music...
17:31the other night...
17:32we were in Cabo...
17:33for her birthday...
17:34and...
17:35yeah...
17:36so it was such...
17:37an amazing night...
17:38and...
17:40we always love to...
17:41play music...
17:42we love...
17:43favorite songs are and like what type of music that we love and do you think you could ever do
17:47anything with
17:48that would be iconic so we'll see what happens
17:53yeah i love her so much she's an angel and you threw her back
17:58birthday party was that accurate yeah that's lovely that she's got such a good
18:03sisterly bond with you and you keep it very low-key as well and i'm sure she appreciates
18:08that you're someone who is super famous do you ever win
18:13i wish you weren't famous at all
18:15i feel like
18:18this is something i was born to do as well i feel like there's certain people in life that this is like
18:23what they're meant to be
18:25so even though it's been so difficult
18:28and hard
18:29i try to think about all the beautiful things that come with it and i really see fame
18:33as like a superpower to make people happy so i love that i'm
18:38able to just make people's days by like taking a photo with them or spending
18:43time with them or just anything smiling just i feel like it just
18:48makes people so happy so i think that the good things you can do with it and i love that i'm
18:53able to use my platform just to make a difference in other people's lives so
18:58even though it has been very traumatizing at times it's worth it
19:03i like that i love love that you're using your fame and your platform to do good in the world how
19:08how about money how do you think money brings you happiness it does because i
19:13have worked so hard and success is something that has always really been
19:18a driving force for me and i feel very lucky just to grow up in my family
19:23and have incredible business mentors with my grandfather and my parents
19:28and i always have loved to make them proud and i love that i've created
19:33this entire brand and empire and now 11 11 my media company
19:38so it makes me happy because i'm able just to feel
19:43that happiness and i think that also just from going to those schools and being so
19:48controlled that i made a promise to myself that i was going to work so hard and become so successful
19:53that no one could ever control me or tell me what to do again so i really see it as
19:58freedom so you used the pain that you went through and the restrictions and
20:03the abuse to to drive your your your ambition
20:08yes what do you say to people who say you've had it easy because because
20:13you came from money i could totally understand people saying that because of course
20:18i'm very privileged that i'm you know came from a family where
20:23i've been able to learn so much from such incredible business men and women
20:28and just you know coming from my last name as well so
20:33but i've seen a lot of other people who come from you know prestigious families
20:38families and a lot of them don't do anything like a lot of people i know
20:43like they just get like an allowance from their parents still they've never worked a day in their life and
20:48i've also seen just how unhappy they are because i feel like they have no fulfillment in life because they
20:53they are just handed everything and they've never had to work for any of it so
20:58yes i can understand people they don't know and don't see how much work has went into every
21:03everything that i do and just how what i've created and what i've built and
21:08you know what i've been through on top of all that um so i think
21:13if people know me they understand but then if there's like an outsider who just you know sees

21:37Mine was probably 21 through college, so you didn't get money from a parent.
21:42There was no trust fund, nothing like that.
21:44I've been working since I was 16.
21:47And so they didn't help with the deposit for a house or anything like that?
21:50No, I did everything on my own.
21:52It's really not fair that people criticize you for not believing that you're something
21:57like that.
21:57She's self-made because there's a New York Post thing saying fans are reacting, saying
22:00she's delusional, thinking she's self-made.
22:02If they actually knew everything and saw everything, they would understand.
22:07That's really interesting, so congratulations.
22:10How will you handle that balance?
22:12With your own kids, because obviously you've been incredibly successful.
22:17How will you create the balance of trying to work out how much support to give them?
22:22I think it's, you know, just from growing up in this way and seeing so many.
22:27others, I think if you spoil your children, you will destroy them.
22:31So that's something.
22:32That's something that my husband and I talk about where we, of course, want to give them
22:35the most beautiful life, make them so happy, but.
22:37We also want to instill that work ethic in them and make them want to do something with their own.
22:42lives and I think with my babies growing up and seeing just how hard I work and.
22:47everything I accomplish, it's going to be really inspirational to them.
22:50And that's why I've built so.
22:52much at the house where I have like my recording studio here, the podcasting studio, the.
22:57photo studio, just like so much of my work I'm able to do from home and my kids are always.
23:02there watching everything.
23:03So I feel like that will be instilled in them just like any.
23:07So I'm in a meeting here like they're sitting on my lap.
23:09So like I feel like even though they're babies, they're soaking it.
23:12in and they'll continue to do so throughout their life.
23:15So.
23:16Yeah.
23:17I think for my kids, I just want them to be so happy and be incredible human beings.
23:21And.
23:22I want them to do whatever makes them happy.
23:24You've talked a lot about reclaiming your narrative.
23:26What's one.
23:27misconception about Paris Hilton that you're still trying to correct.
23:30I feel like I've been such.
23:32an open book in the past five years where I've discussed everything.
23:37So I don't really think there's any anymore.
23:39I feel like I've cleared up so many misconceptions.
23:42I feel like before this, you know, thought I was a dumb blonde because of the simple life.
23:47But I've proved that I am not a dumb blonde and I'm just very good at pretending to be on.
23:52Well, that comes on to my next question.
23:55Actually, I loved in the.
23:57movie when you're doing a recording and somebody says, you can use your real voice.
24:02on this one.
24:03And it reminded me, I was on your BFF show with you back in the day.
24:07And we would record and you'd have this baby voice saying, that's hot.
24:10And then we'd go off and you'll be with.
24:12Benji talking about beats and this voice so low.
24:15And I would just be like, she's two different people.
24:17And so like you, you pretended to be somebody.
24:22Was that, where did that come from?
24:24Was that protectionism protecting yourself by.
24:27Being a caricature or was that strategically to play a part and earn money?
24:32I think, you know, I didn't even realize until.
24:35You still do it.
24:36What was it?
24:37That was high or low.
24:38That was low.
24:39See, I literally can't even control it.
24:40I think it's just such a part of me now because.
24:42I've been doing it for so long.
24:43But I do think it was a trauma response to what I want.
24:47I went through where I just kind of wanted to build this perfect, like a Barbie doll.
24:52Life and like a Disney kind of Barbie.
24:57And then, you know, getting the simple life and then the producer.
25:02Is telling me, you know, we want you to play this kind of blonde, spoiled airhead.
25:07And play into this character and this was the first reality show.
25:11And I had no idea.
25:12I'd have to continue on that character for five seasons straight.
25:15And then every talk show.
25:17And everything I would go on, I would be the character.
25:19And then I just kind of got stuck in it almost because.
25:22The whole world thought that's who I really was.
25:24And I'm also a very naturally shy person.
25:27So I feel like being the character, it made it easier for me to kind of.
25:32Be silly and say, say the ridiculous things.
25:35I don't know.
25:36I feel like if the simple life had me.
25:37Talking in my normal voice and not playing the character.
25:39It would not have been the show that it was.
25:41I.
25:42I can see that.
25:43I know Nikki, your sister, and she's shy too.
25:45And that shyness.
25:47This comes across with both of you.
25:49And it's an understanding that like you're playing a part.
25:52To get through social anxiety.
25:54Sometimes I'll do that at parties.
25:55Like I've got to be down.
25:57I can't wait for tonight.
25:58So how do you deal with social anxiety now?
26:02I still have social anxiety.
26:03And I think that might be the ADHD as well, because I'm just so.
26:07In my head all the time.
26:08And I get just, I think also since the pandemic, like.
26:12I've gotten just like way more anxiety than I used to.
26:17But then if I'm around, like if I bring like the best friend.
26:20Or like I'm with like a group of people I trust.
26:22Then I feel more comfortable.
26:24But if I'm just like going in somewhere and not knowing.
26:27Like anyone.
26:28Sometimes I get a little nervous.
26:29I think that's normal.
26:30I feel like everyone.
26:31I mean it's just like us.
26:32It's just like regular folks.
26:33Everybody deals with mental health issues.
26:35But people wouldn't imagine that Paris.
26:37Hilton, this striking beautiful blonde woman with everything.
26:40Would be nervous going into.
26:42An event.
26:43Yeah.
26:44I think people would definitely be surprised to know that.
26:47What's your relationship with the character of Paris Hilton these days?
26:51Oh.
26:52I think before I saw it as like a form of protection.
26:55And now I see it as.
26:57Like my just fun silly side.
26:59Like.
27:00You know there's a time and.
27:02In place for everything.
27:03And like when I'm doing TikToks.
27:04Or just like doing certain content.
27:06Or.
27:07You know like.
27:08Different campaigns with brands.
27:09And they want me to play the character.
27:10Like.
27:11I.
27:12I will do it.
27:13And I love doing it.
27:14Um.
27:15And then obviously when I go to.
27:17DCC and I'm speaking on Capitol Hill.
27:19And talking about.
27:20Serious subjects.
27:21That's when you.
27:22DCC.
27:23Like.
27:24The real side of me.
27:25Um.
27:26But yeah.
27:27I just like.
27:27Do it.
27:28Back and forth.
27:29We can all have silly sides.
27:30And serious sides.
27:31It's fun.
27:32I think a lot of artists.
27:33And people do.
27:34Like they are.
27:35A lot of people I've spoken to.
27:36Like actors.
27:37Beyonce.
27:38Sasha Fierce.
27:39JLo.
27:40Jennifer Lopez.
27:41We all have that.
27:42And we all have the one.
27:43When we're at home.
27:44You know.
27:45Chilling in our sweats.
27:46And just like.
27:47Laying.
27:47Straight back.
27:48And just like ourselves.
27:49So you are just like us.
27:50You're playing the part of an entitled heiress.
27:52But now 20 years have passed.
27:54I have to ask you the question.
27:56Was the warm up.
27:57questions set up.
27:58Or did you really not know.
27:59What warm up was at the time.
28:01Yeah.
28:02I did.
28:03You did that.
28:04I did.
28:05Yeah.
28:06You did.
28:07I just thought.
28:07It would be a funny line.
28:08And you came up with a line.
28:09I just.
28:10Yeah.
28:11It wasn't like I thought about it.
28:12in advance.
28:13Because I didn't even know.
28:14We were going to talk about walmart.
28:15But when it came up.
28:16I was like in my mind.
28:17I was like this will be funny.
28:18I had no idea.
28:19It would be such an iconic line.
28:20That people to this day.
28:21Still say.
28:22Um.
28:23And now I have like.
28:24My entire.
28:25Kitchenware.
28:26And home.
28:27And.
28:28Your fragrances were in Walmart.
28:29All of it.
28:30Yeah.
28:31So.
28:32When was the last time you were in Walmart?
28:32Um.
28:33I was there two weeks ago.
28:34Um.
28:35In Arkansas actually.
28:36I go there all the time.
28:37Um.
28:38To go meet with the whole team out there.
28:39And.
28:40I was showing them all the new products.
28:41From my new line.
28:42For Paris and Pups.
28:43And.
28:44My new homeware line.
28:45And kitchenware line.
28:46And.
28:47storage line.
28:48And all of it.
28:49I have so.
28:50I have like.
28:51Over 400 SKUs of products.
28:52inside of Walmart.
28:53So now I know they don't sell walls.
28:55They sell.
28:56Paris Hilton Pratt.
28:57Yeah.
28:57You're just a.
28:58You're just a comedy icon.
28:59Um.
29:00Moving on to something a bit more difficult.
29:01The sex.
29:02The sex tape.
29:03Um.
29:04It's really heartbreaking.
29:05Looking back on the doc.
29:06In the documentary.
29:07And you talk.
29:07About it.
29:08That you.
29:09Had no.
29:10Agency.
29:11About this.
29:12Besides Pamela Anderson.
29:12You were the first.
29:13Celebrity.
29:14To go through this.
29:15Publicly.
29:16And.
29:17Internet was different.
29:18Copyright was different.
29:19It was a wild wild west.
29:20And.
29:21Now it would be impossible.
29:22To happen.
29:23Like.
29:24Was there no way.
29:25Of stopping it coming out.
29:26How was that.
29:27At that time.
29:28It was.
29:29Just.
29:31Humiliating.
29:32Being.
29:33So painful.
29:34I did not want to leave my house.
29:35I was.
29:36Just.
29:37It was just.
29:38You know.
29:39Just trust somebody.
29:40And.
29:41Have them.
29:42Violate.
29:42Violate.
29:43Me like that.
29:44Was just.
29:45The most horrible thing.
29:46That you could do.
29:47To a person.
29:47And.
29:48Um.
29:49There was nothing.
29:50That I could do about it.
29:51And.
29:52Um.
29:52Yeah.
29:53That's.
29:54Something that will.
29:55Haunt me the rest of my life.
29:56And.
29:57If that happened to.
29:57the day.
29:58It would be illegal.
29:59Um.
30:00So.
30:02I mean.
30:03I think.
30:04Like another thing.
30:05I went through.
30:06That now.
30:07It would be illegal.
30:08For people today.
30:09So I think.
30:07That.
30:08Again.
30:09Is the good part.
30:10That other girls.
30:11Don't have to go through that.
30:12But.
30:12Um.
30:13Yeah.
30:14That was.
30:15I mean.
30:16When you frame it.
30:17That this was a young girl.
30:17who didn't.
30:18Did.
30:19Who.
30:20Was coerced to do this.
30:21And then was publicly humiliated.
30:22And flogged for it.
30:23Afterwards.
30:24It.
30:25Like.
30:26It.
30:27It really wasn't.
30:28Really.
30:27Fair.
30:28I'm not going to mention the name.
30:29Of the guy.
30:30Because.
30:31You cleverly.
30:32Didn't do that.
30:32In the dark.
30:33Have you ever spoken to.
30:34That ex again.
30:35No.
30:36Would you ever have.
30:37A conversation with him.
30:38No.
30:39Um.
30:40Have you.
30:41Thought about.
30:42When your kids find out.
30:42About.
30:43The sex tape.
30:44And how you'll approach it.
30:45With them.
30:46That.
30:47That's going to be a really.
30:48Just.
30:49Painful.
30:50Subject.
30:51To talk about.
30:52Like.
30:52I don't even know.
30:53Like.
30:54I haven't even thought about.
30:55What I'm going to say.
30:56Since they're only.
30:57Two years old.
30:58Right.
30:57Right.
30:58Now.
30:59Um.
31:00But.
31:01You.
31:02Hopefully by talking to them.
31:04They'll.
31:05Never have something like that.
31:06Happen to them.
31:07Or.
31:07They'll be taken advantage of.
31:08So.
31:09It's just.
31:10Horrible.
31:12And now.
31:13Just being a mom again.
31:14Just thinking about that.
31:15Just makes me even sadder.
31:16For me.
31:17That I had to go through all that.
31:18And so publicly.
31:19And have people vilify.
31:20Me for it.
31:21When I was just.
31:22Nineteen year old.
31:23Kid basically.
31:24Yeah.
31:25The media.
31:26Would just.
31:27Brutal.
31:28For you.
31:29The news media.
31:30Particularly.
31:31The expert.
31:32In the documentary.
31:33Said.
31:34Your.
31:35Target.
31:36You.
31:37You.
31:38You.
31:39You.
31:40You.
31:41You.
31:42You.
31:43You.
31:44You.
31:45You.
31:46You.
31:47You.
31:48You.
31:50You.
31:51You.
31:52You.
31:53You.
31:54You.
31:55You.
31:56You.
31:57You.
31:58You.
31:59You.
32:00You.
32:01You.
32:02You.
32:03You.
32:04You.
32:05You.
32:06You.
32:07You.
32:08You.
32:09You.
32:10You.
32:11You.
32:12You.
32:13You.
32:14You.
32:15You.
32:16You.
32:17You.
32:18You.
32:19You.
32:20You.
32:21You.
32:22You.
32:23You.
32:24You.
32:25a new low for celebrity culture. Like, you're human, just like the rest of us. How did that...
32:30feel at the time? It was really hurtful. You know, I was just a young girl.
32:35Just living my life, but I had the whole world watching and...
32:40fudging and picking everything apart, and just, I felt like no matter what...
32:45what I did or what I accomplished, people just refused to...
32:50I don't know, just see... see me as like a human being. It was just...
32:55like a cartoon character or like a punchline that they just make fun of.
33:00And it just always hurt my feelings, because I've always been such a sensitive person as well.
33:05And then on top of it, having ADHD, we experienced...
33:10emotions like ten times more than a neurotypical person.
33:15And especially, there's something called RSD, which is...
33:20rejection-sensitive dysphoria, which 99% of people with ADHD experience...
33:25so to have things said like that...
33:30is just... physically painful, like it's...
33:35like being stabbed in the heart, like it's just...
33:38I would cry so much.
33:40all the time, just like constantly hearing things and people making up lies and stories.
33:45It was just... a nightmare.
33:47What would you say to the people who wrote those headlines now?
33:50Say, look at me now, honey.
33:55I've always loved proving people wrong.
33:57So much of my career, I've been underestimated.
34:00and misunderstood.
34:01So now, today, just to see my life and everything...
34:05that I've accomplished and...
34:07my beautiful family and just everything.
34:10that I've done.
34:11And now, I've had so many people come up and apologize to me.
34:15so many reporters...
34:17just...
34:18people on the street have said that...
34:20I don't know if I'm doing an interview...
34:21just so many people have said,
34:22I'm so sorry for the way that myself and others...
34:25treated you because you did not deserve that.
34:27So it feels...
34:28it's very healing to hear that.
34:30from people to realize that they know it was wrong.
34:32What advice would you give to the...
34:35to the young girl who's going through that now?
34:39My...
34:40advice would be that...
34:43you shouldn't listen to people like...
34:45that...
34:46that...
34:47what matters most is what you think of yourself.
34:49So don't let that...
34:50outside noise affect how you feel about yourself...
34:53because...
34:55a lot of people...
34:56can be mean...
34:57especially...
34:58you know...
34:59now with the internet and...
35:00you know...
35:01people are able to hide...
35:02behind a computer...
35:03and...
35:04It's a different...
35:05I feel like the media...
35:07it wasn't like that...
35:08but then there's like the...
35:09internet trolls...
35:10so we're just like...
35:11these people living in like...
35:12their parents' basement...
35:13like miserable...
35:14with no life...
35:15and like...
35:16just sit on the computer all day...
35:17just writing...
35:18rude things to people.
35:20like I just would tell them...
35:21like I would feel bad...
35:22for this...
35:23these people...
35:24that they...
35:25are that...
35:25miserable...
35:26that they need to go and...
35:27and try to...
35:28tear you down...
35:29and don't let it affect you...
35:30in the movie...
35:31I found it really interesting...
35:32you talking about...
35:33your ADHD...
35:34and thank you...
35:35I think...
35:35like I believe...
35:36with mental health challenges...
35:37it's so important...
35:38to talk about them...
35:39and normalise them...
35:40you stigmatise them...
35:41and make people feel...
35:42less alone...
35:43you've been a leading...
35:44person with ADHD...
35:45to do that...
35:46and the quote...
35:47that really hit me...
35:48from the documentary...
35:49was...
35:50I have all the success...
35:50I wish I could be...
35:51as happy as someone...
35:52without the ADHD...
35:53demon voice...
35:54who...
35:55would have had...
35:56all these things...
35:57would have had...
35:58all these things...
35:59do you still feel...
36:00like that?
36:01It's...
36:02it's gotten...
36:03much better...
36:04like now that I...
36:05have...
36:06really studied...
36:07and researched...
36:08and know so much...
36:09about my ADHD...
36:10but...
36:11growing up...
36:12no one was talking...
36:13about it...
36:14especially...
36:15with young girls...
36:15so I...
36:16had no idea...
36:17like...
36:18being in school...
36:19and constantly...
36:20getting...
36:20being in trouble...
36:21all the time...
36:22like...
36:23not able to focus...
36:24like...
36:25always in detention...
36:26always failing...
36:25like...
36:26all the tests...
36:27because I couldn't...
36:28remember anything...
36:29or like...
36:30losing my homework...
36:31just like so many...
36:30things would happen...
36:31and...
36:32you know...
36:33people with ADD...
36:34would just be called...
36:35like...
36:36bad kids...
36:35and I think that's...
36:36you know...
36:37one of the reasons...
36:38I got sent away...
36:39to these schools...
36:40because I just...
36:40not able to...
36:41focus in school...
36:42or anything...
36:43no matter...
36:44how hard I tried...
36:45um...
36:46and then...
36:47now knowing...
36:48that...
36:49the...
36:50voices...
36:51from that...
36:52that are negative...
36:53self-talk...
36:54are not true...
36:55like...
36:56that is always a good thing...
36:57so anytime I do...
36:58have that happening...
36:59I'll just immediately say...
37:00that's not...
37:00that's not you...
37:01that's just your ADHD...
37:02so that's how you manage it...
37:03that's really...
37:04I really love sharing...
37:05solutions...
37:06that's how you...
37:07I talked to this...
37:08amazing doctor...
37:09named Dr. Hallowell...
37:10who is like...
37:11one of the leading...
37:12ADHD psychiatrists...
37:13and...
37:14he has it as well...
37:15and he calls it...
37:16the demon...
37:17it's called...
37:18DMN...
37:19which is...
37:20the default...
37:21mode network...
37:22what the real...
37:23term port is...
37:24in the documentary...
37:25the demon voice...
37:26I found it fascinating...
37:27the idea that...
37:28all of these mean things...
37:29are being said about...
37:30you in the press...
37:31but it's worse...
37:32in your head...
37:33that you were saying...
37:34worse things about yourself...
37:35yeah...
37:36so...
37:37that was just...
37:38painful...
37:39and I think...
37:40through doing this...
37:40I feel like...
37:41I never even...
37:42gave myself the credit...
37:43for like...
37:44how much...
37:45I survived...
37:46even going through...
37:45that...
37:46like...
37:47after everything...
37:48I had already...
37:49went through...
37:50in these schools...
37:51then...
37:52you know...
37:53coming out...
37:54into...
37:55like...
37:56it was...
37:57it was...
37:58so traumatizing...
37:59back then...
38:00so I'm so...
38:00like...
38:01grateful...
38:02now...
38:03to have healed...
38:04from that...
38:05and now I'm able to...
38:05tell my story to others...
38:06because I know...
38:07there's so many...
38:08other...
38:09you know...
38:10kids...
38:11who have ADHD...
38:10who I'm sure...
38:11are going through...
38:12the same thing...
38:13right now...
38:14and...
38:15just to...
38:15tell them...
38:16and let them know...
38:17that...
38:18this is something...
38:19that we all experience...
38:20and that those things...
38:21are not true...
38:20and...
38:21to be strong...
38:22and to lean on...
38:23in on it...
38:24as your superpower...
38:25because I wouldn't be...
38:26the woman I am today...
38:27without it as well...
38:28I wouldn't be the...
38:29entrepreneur I am...
38:30I wouldn't be the creative I am...
38:31I wouldn't have these...
38:32so many different businesses...
38:33without the ADHD...
38:35so I want...
38:36to inspire others...
38:37that...
38:38this can be a superpower...
38:40and you can just lean in...
38:41to what you love...
38:42they say that...
38:43we can't focus...
38:44but...
38:45that's not true...
38:46we can hyper focus...
38:47like no other...
38:48we just can't focus...
38:49on things...
38:50that are boring...
38:51but the things...
38:52that light us up...
38:53we will focus...
38:54like a superhero...
38:55that's really interesting...
38:56it's just that...
38:57all of our brains...
38:58have worked...
38:59differently...
39:00and so...
39:00talking about it...
39:01and normalising this...
39:02and showing it's actually...
39:03a positive...
39:04not a negative...
39:05is a great...
39:05example for society...
39:06so thank you...
39:07I've had so many...
39:08families...
39:09kids...
39:10people come up to me...
39:11and say...
39:12thank you so much...
39:13for writing your song...
39:14ADHD...
39:15like...
39:15my child used to be...
39:16so ashamed of it...
39:17but now...
39:18that's their anthem...
39:19and they're singing it...
39:20every morning...
39:20and telling everyone...
39:21ADHD is my superpower...
39:23so I love how...
39:24I'm able to...
39:25reframe it...
39:26especially...
39:27for these young kids...
39:28growing up with it...
39:29because I know...
39:30that a lot of them...
39:31are struggling...
39:32and back in the normal...
39:30difficulties...
39:31you felt...
39:32you couldn't...
39:33admit...
39:34to having any...
39:35any weaknesses...
39:35but now...
39:36it's different...
39:37opening up with your...
39:38vulnerabilities...
39:39is your superpower...
39:40Yes...
39:41for sure...
39:40and growing up...
39:41in the 2000s...
39:42like...
39:43no one was even...
39:44saying the word...
39:45mental health...
39:46like...
39:47if you heard...
39:45that...
39:46they'd be like...
39:47what?
39:48like...
39:49mental hospital?
39:50like...
39:51they wouldn't...
39:52understand that...
39:53I'm a big...
39:54...
39:50And I've done a lot of work in the mental health space that like everybody has got somebody in the family who's going.
39:55Through something scratched beneath the surface, I've got people with PTSD, ADHD.
40:00It's a clinical depression and people don't talk about it and we shouldn't.
40:05We encourage it, make people feel less alone.
40:07So thank you for all of your work.
40:10It's amazing seeing this new generation and how open they are, just how, you know.
40:15We were all taught like if anything's wrong, don't talk about it, just like everything's fine.
40:20But when you do talk about things, it just shows like the power of vulnerability and telling your truth.
40:25And just like letting it out and it just like helps you so much and then it makes others.
40:30feel safe to open up as well.
40:32And then it starts like this whole domino effect where so many.
40:35people could heal around the world.
40:37So you are just like us, the relatable things are what matter.
40:40So all of my gay friends are totally jealous that I'm here with you at your house.
40:45And until I saw this documentary, I didn't really realize why you were a gay icon.
40:50And I had tears streaming down my face when you said they are the
40:55ones who gave me the greatest gift, showing me what it truly means to live my true pursuit.
41:00For so long, I was weighed down by the shame over what I went through in the troubled teen industry.
41:05I've never heard a straight person understand the shame that gay people go through living
41:10in a world of feeling othered and not feeling welcomed and the fact that you could
41:15empathize with that, with what you'd gone through.
41:17I found that really powerful.
41:19So thank you.
41:20When did you realize your similarities with the gay community?
41:25Just especially getting out of those schools and then David LaChapelle.
41:30David LaChapelle and I have been very close friends forever.
41:32And I was one of his muses and he would take me to all the gay.
41:35clubs.
41:36So I was hanging out with him and Amanda Lepore and like Patricia Field and like that.
41:40whole club scene and just be feeling so like much love.
41:44So accepted.
41:45Just seeing these people who just like live their life out loud, just
41:50beautiful inside and out and just learned so much.
41:55from that, just an incredible community in so many ways.
41:58Pride is my favorite time of the year.
42:00It's so much fun just being on stage, performing, going to all the gay clubs.
42:05and feeling the energy, the love in the room.
42:08It's like nothing.
42:10I couldn't even describe.
42:11It's just so much fun.
42:13Well, thank you.
42:14Thank you for your support.
42:15The way you vocalized that connection to the community was so breathtaking.
42:19How have you.
42:20dealt with that shame that you talked about?
42:23I've just felt that a lot.
42:25A lot of the things that have happened in my life are because other people hurt me.
42:29And some.
42:30Another message in this film that I want to have others know is that.
42:35the shame should not be on us.
42:37It should be on the people who hurt us.
42:40And I was actually speaking with one of the survivors who went to.
42:45Trogo Canyon School with me.
42:46And she said that to me when we were doing my first documentary.
42:50And that's something that has stuck with me ever since.
42:52And it's so true.
42:53I feel like so many of the times, so many.
42:55Many of us have held on to shame, which never should have been on us.
42:59It should have always been on.
43:00And that person who hurt us.
43:02So I think that's such a powerful message for people to know.
43:05in their hearts.
43:06Because I feel like that would take away a lot of pain from people if they knew.
43:10that.
43:11Motherhood, they say becoming a parent will humble you and make you just.
43:15like us.
43:16What's one way your kids have humbled you recently?
43:19Yeah.
43:20They are just my everything.
43:22My world.
43:23And.
43:25It's.
43:26Every day with them just feels like a dream come true.
43:28I've.
43:29Always wanted to be a mom.
43:30And now to have these two little angels who are just the cutest.
43:35little.
43:36Fun.
43:37Like sweet.
43:38Smart.
43:39Um.
43:40They're just everything to me.
43:41They're just everything to me.
43:42I'm so.
43:43So lucky that I'm their mom.
43:45That was your latest breakdown in tears mummy meltdown moment.
43:50They're.
43:51They're such good kids.
43:52I know.
43:53I've never had like a meltdown moment.
43:54They're really well.
43:55behaved.
43:56They're so well behaved.
43:57They're so.
43:58Like.
43:59Just.
44:00Smart.
44:00They're so kind.
44:01They're so gentle.
44:02They're on an amazing sleep schedule.
44:04Like they're just like.
44:05Like.
44:06The perfect kids.
44:07So if.
44:08When they become teenagers.
44:09If they turn out to be wild.
44:10How are you going to do with this?
44:12I.
44:13I think about that a lot.
44:14That's.
44:15That's.
44:15That scares me.
44:16Um.
44:17You're not going to send them to a provost school.
44:18We know that.
44:19Definitely not.
44:20Um.
44:21That's why.
44:22Even with this house.
44:23Like.
44:24I want to like.
44:25Build.
44:25Like this world.
44:26Where they.
44:27Never want to sneak out.
44:28Because they'll just always want to invite all their friends.
44:30Here.
44:31And this will be like the house.
44:32Everyone.
44:33Like.
44:34Is that.
44:35With like.
44:36Movie night.
44:35And going in the pool.
44:36And the water slide.
44:37And just like.
44:38Having so much fun.
44:39Where like.
44:40I feel like.
44:40They'll never want to leave.
44:41And if they try to sneak out.
44:43We have.
44:44The most advanced.
44:45Security system.
44:46Security guards.
44:47Cameras.
44:48Lasers.
44:50To everything.
44:51So.
44:52There will be no sneaking out.
44:53On my watch.
44:54To your crease.
44:55You're creating a safe environment.
44:57Very safe environment.
44:58So.
44:59They don't want to leave.
45:00And if.
45:00If they did.
45:01They couldn't.
45:02Anyway.
45:03What's something.
45:04Your mum and dad.
45:05Talk.
45:05You about.
45:06Life.
45:07And parenting.
45:08That you want to pass on.
45:09To your kids.
45:10Or.
45:11Is there anything.
45:12You want.
45:13To.
45:14To.
45:15To.
45:16To.
45:17To.
45:18To.
45:19To.
45:20To.
45:21To.
45:22To.
45:23To.
45:24To.
45:25To.
45:26To.
45:28To.
45:29To.
45:30To.
45:31To.
45:32To.
45:33To.
45:34To.
45:10Do.
45:11To.
45:12I love.
45:13That.
45:14My mom.
45:15And dad.
45:15I've always made every holiday especially so special, just like...
45:20My mom is like the queen of Christmas, so with all the decorating, like all of that, I learned...
45:25from her and just making all those family moments just like unforgettable and like...
45:30just all of the memories and family traditions that I learned from my parents I'm now passing on to.
45:35My children and just how important family is and being...
45:40close with each other and...
45:43yeah, just like the holidays.
45:45The holidays are so special and I love that my mom really instilled that into me and...
45:50Yeah.
45:51How is Cathy as a grandma? How is Grandma Cathy? Is she hands on, don't you?
45:55Or did she spoil them rotten?
45:56Don't call her grandma.
45:59She's...
46:00She's called Kiki and she is the cutest and the best and the kid...
46:05the kids love when she comes over, they love going to her house, she has like a whole...
46:10like children's nursery playroom at the house that has all the...
46:15coolest toys and everything so they're always going over there and playing with her and she's very...
46:20childlike in so many ways as well so she's just so sweet with them and...
46:25she's obsessed, especially with London, she's like London is like my twin because if you...
46:30look at their baby photos they look so similar.
46:32Oh really?
46:33That's so cute.
46:34But she's an amazing...
46:35yeah, she's an amazing grandma.
46:36See, you have 20 boy embryos on ice I read.
46:40after trying for a girl for so many times, will you keep them on ice?
46:45Yeah.
46:46So you never know.
46:47So you consider more kids?
46:49I...
46:50I love having two but you never know because they're getting so big so I...
46:54I love babies so much.
46:55So maybe there'll be another brother one day, we'll see what happens.
47:00Or if someone in the family needs one, we have lots of boys.
47:04We talked about this...
47:05earlier about how trolls and social media are difficult and there's so much mum shaming on social.
47:10like critiquing like a baby's physicality, it's so appalling.
47:14How do you handle...
47:15things like that?
47:16What does it bring out on you?
47:17I'm like a protective mama bear so...
47:20I get very protective and, you know, sometimes...
47:25there is, you know, people online who want to be mean and negative and I just think it's so...
47:30wrong to talk about a baby in a bad way or just like...
47:35a cruel way so I...
47:37I'm always very protective of it but...
47:40there's been so many moms and others who have been so supportive and so amazing and...
47:45I love being able to share my life with them and it's always nice to hear from them.
47:50and the other moms...
47:51because...
47:52moms are superheroes and we can do it all.
47:55just like us that's a leveler and like no matter if you've got millions of...
48:00millions of dollars like you still have to go through the same struggles as other parents.
48:05How do you and Carter think about balancing privacy with sharing family moments?
48:10like how do you ever have any tension about that?
48:12I feel like I've...
48:13I've...
48:14share so much of my...
48:15I have a great experience in my life.
48:16um...
48:18and I love my fans and I know that they...
48:20love seeing my family.
48:22So I love to show them certain moments or not, like.
48:25Every single day.
48:26But all, like, the special, fun moments that we
48:30do together, it's always fun to share them.
48:32Like, Phoenix just, like, always the same.
48:35The cutest things.
48:37And, um, I don't know.
48:39What's the funny thing you said?
48:40Look.
48:40He, just everything.
48:42Like, he just, like, he says all of my.
48:45Catchphrases, like, that's hot, iconic, loves it.
48:49Slim.
48:50Slim says.
48:51He says, he loves singing that song.
48:54London.
48:55London just learned it.
48:56So she's now saying it.
48:57Iconic is favorite, is London's favorite word.
49:00And it's our dog's name as well.
49:02I love it.
49:03So they're just so cute.
49:04I can't.
49:05I'm, like, obsessed.
49:07I can't take it.
49:08So the whole gang now.
49:10The crew back in the day are all mums.
49:12Do you and Kim Kardashian ever bond over motherhood these days?
49:15We do.
49:16We talk a lot about our kids, how much fun it is to be a mom.
49:20I met Dr. Wong through her, who was both.
49:25For our doctors, for our babies.
49:27And she's such an amazing mom.
49:29Does she.
49:30Does she give you advice?
49:31She said just to, like, soak up every moment because it goes so fast.
49:35And they are just growing up so fast.
49:37How often do you two hang out?
49:39Um.
49:40We're both so busy.
49:41So anytime, like, during the holidays or if it's, like, an event.
49:45Or something.
49:46But I love her so much.
49:48I'm so proud of her.
49:49Carter seems.
49:50So supportive of you.
49:51How do you parent together?
49:53We're.
49:54Just.
49:55The best parents.
49:56We have so much fun with the kids.
49:58Carter is just so.
50:00Sweet and fun.
50:01And gentle.
50:02And just an amazing dad.
50:03And.
50:05They love him so much.
50:06And we just have the best time with the kids.
50:08Always.
50:09Do you agree on all the parenting principles?
50:10Do you agree on all the parenting principles?
50:10There's not come up things you've disagreed with so far.
50:13No.
50:14You sorted that all out beforehand.
50:15Yeah.
50:15Um.
50:16How does he really feel about your obsession with pink and your interior design?
50:20Like, the pink tennis court and everything.
50:21He loves it.
50:22He loves anything that.
50:23He loves it.
50:24He loves anything that.
50:25Does he all make me happy?
50:26It's like.
50:27Really incredible.
50:28That is an amazing moment, because the next.
50:30question was how how and when did you know Carter was right for you but like
50:35I just knew right away there was just something special about him I could just tell
50:40like just right when he looked at me and smiled like I could just look in someone's eye
50:45eyes and see whether like they're a good person or not and he has
50:50such incredible family values he's so kind and patient and loyal
50:55and sweet and funny and loving and lifts me up in a way that
51:00no one ever has before and he seems to love you for you yeah I feel like so safe
51:05with him where I feel like anything is possible and that's an amazing
51:10feeling because it's been so hard to trust people with everything that's
51:14happened in my life
51:15and you know I met him at a time where I just it's like I'm not even gonna
51:20get married I'm not gonna be with anyone like I don't need a man
51:22and that's what I was thinking and then
51:25met him so they always say like love will find you and you're not looking for it and
51:30I never believed that either but I guess it's true because it worked with me and so
51:35you've done so so much what unfinished business have you got
51:40what have you still got to prove what's next
51:42I feel like I have a
51:45accomplished like everything that I would want to in life but I'm just gonna continue on
51:50with everything I'm doing with 11 11 media and just all of the different projects
51:55I have with that and I'm very excited for
51:59PeraVee
52:00my skincare line that I developed for the past three years and building new products
52:05with that as well and continuing on with the music and all my advocacy
52:10work and continuing to build IP and then
52:15getting involved more in real estate with my own hotels and um
52:20Paris Hilton hotels rivaling Hilton hotels
52:25skincare line you are aging backwards you look amazing like I
52:30have a LED mask like just just like us but you have a whole machine I read
52:35the spa the living spa the living spa what what works the best for
52:40readers what anti-aging how can we look as amazing as you what works the best is PeraVee
52:45my skincare line of course and then the LED red light is incredible

52:55uh for longevity which I'm obsessed with um I just invested into Brian Johnson
53:00company as well uh blueprint which I am obsessed with um so I think
53:05yeah it's important to do all of those things try to stay out of the sun
53:10but yeah that red light really does work I have like a whole red light bed which
53:15I'm obsessed with and I'm building an entire spa downstairs to be like
53:20an 8 000 square foot longevity center and spa so we go from an 8
53:259 000 square foot longevity center and spa to testing how just like us because that
53:30that that's not quite just like us but now it's time to find out how just like us
53:35Paris Hilton really is it's a quick fire round questions will come fast the answers should
53:40come faster and there's no hiding from your humanity are you ready to prove you're just like us yeah
53:45stars are blind is one of my top five karaoke songs but it's really hard to
53:50sing um are you just like us and have you ever sung um carry on
53:55karaoke yeah I love karaoke what are your songs do you sing stars are blind yes of course stars are blind
54:00and I love Bette Davis's eyes by Kim Cards one of my favorites as well
54:05So iconic, classic.
54:07How much help do you have around the house?
54:10Yeah, we have, like, the nannies,
54:12the people who helped take care of the house, and...
54:15the handyman, and, yeah, all of them.
54:18And I love them so much.
54:20They're, like, part of the family.
54:21What's the most surprisingly normal thing you do every day
54:23that no one would ever expect?
54:25Back from Paris Hilton.
54:27Most normal thing, just...
54:30Being with my kids in the morning, eating cereal...
54:34Not cereal.
54:35I love cartoons.
54:36I like Frosted Flakes.
54:37I love cooking.
54:38I love making French toast.
54:40With Frosted Flakes cooked onto it.
54:42So good.
54:43That's a good American breakfast.
54:45He is just like us.
54:46How much do you spend on glam in a year, would you estimate?
54:49I don't...
54:50I don't know.
54:51I've never looked into that, but I'm sure a lot.
54:54What's one house...
54:55household chore you secretly love doing yourself?
54:58I don't know.
54:59You don't...
55:00I don't know.
55:01Do you have a...
55:02We're gonna...
55:05Organising...
55:06I like organising as well.
55:07I like organising.
55:08I like tidying.
55:09I hate cleaning.
55:10When was the last time you pumped gas?
55:12I used to pump gas when I used to drive everywhere, but...
55:15I honestly never leave the house now.
55:17Like, unless I have to.
55:19And then I have a driver...
55:20And then I'm always just going directly from here to the airport and flying somewhere.
55:25So I have not done gas in a long time.
55:27But if I was driving, I would do it.
55:29I don't...
55:30I don't mind.
55:31You would.
55:32I don't mind.
55:33Okay.
55:34You are just like us.
55:35Well, thank you for sharing your incredible journey.
55:35And the wisdom that you've imparted and how you've helped people along the way.
55:39And I do...
55:40I do think how vulnerable you are.
55:42It shows that you really are just like us.
55:44So thank you, Paris.
55:46This was so much fun.
