00:00The ceasefire in Gaza ended the fighting, but it did not end the crisis.
00:08Displaced families remain trapped between the rubble on one side and armed gangs on the other.
00:13But the greatest danger lies in hidden Israeli munitions that could explode at any moment.
00:20We have, of course, our teams on the ground who do assessments and they assess the various roads,
00:28the locations, and they go to make sure that the ordinance is clearly marked
00:34and that there are also awareness for the communities to make sure that they know
00:40not to touch them and not to be around them.
00:47Relief and UN organizations have called for the entry of mine clearance equipment
00:51and for dealing with the massive layers of debris,
00:53estimating that over 70,000 tons of explosives were dropped on the Gaza Strip during two years of war,
01:00most of which have not detonated.
01:03We do find shells and other ordnance regularly in our missions,
01:11but I think we will realize the full scale of it once we have done the assessments
01:17of all the areas that we need to assess.
01:20And although the sounds of bombardment have stopped,
01:26the war has not yet left Gaza.
01:28The land still carries a silent danger,
01:31one that continues to threaten the lives of those who survived in other, quieter ways.
