00:00So as I mentioned there, the Iran war isn't just affecting oil and politics.
00:04It's having this massive impact on fertilizer supply, which is causing ripple effects across global agriculture.
00:13What is causing this fertilizer shortage that we're seeing?
00:18Well, thanks for having me.
00:19And so the producers within the Middle East of fertilizer are simply not able to export their products as easily
00:28or maybe at all through the Strait of Hormuz because of the blockade and the counter blockade.
00:33And so we're seeing, you know, fertilizer prices soar by over 80 percent.
00:40And we've seen, you know, certain products like global urea, you know, 30 percent of it goes through the Strait
00:48of Hormuz.
00:48So the price of that is going up.
00:50Same thing for ammonia shipments, about 25 percent of ammonia shipments go through the Strait.
00:56And these are, you know, critical components or chemicals to the fertilization process for, you know, the crops for next
01:05year.
01:05Right. And so this is going to have a ripple effect for food security or insecurity, as it were, over
01:13the coming year and possibly longer.
01:18It's going to have a little bit of a bit toot to help you get someahhuz.
01:18And to the cortisol is like, Oh my God.
01:19It's going to have a little bit of a trov on the tissue.
01:19It's going to be worse.
01:19But it's going to be if you know that those affected intensive measures are great.
