DMK's Foxconn 'Lie' Exposed? TN Govt Faces Backlash Over ₹15,000 Cr Investment Claim

A massive political controversy has erupted in Tamil Nadu over the DMK government's announcement of a ₹15,000 crore investment by electronics giant Foxconn, a claim that was reportedly denied by the company. AIADMK national spokesperson Kovai Sathyan stated, 'MK Stalin and his minister should hang their head in shame for lying to the people of Tamil Nadu.' The claim, hailed by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin as a success of the 'Dravidian Model', was swiftly attacked by opposition parties including the BJP and PMK, who accused the government of falsehood and committing fraud. The government, however, has maintained its stand, with Industries Minister T.R.B. Rajaa insisting the investment was confirmed after months of negotiations and calling the opposition's reaction a 'sabotage attempt'. This has put the DMK's industrial policy in the spotlight, with critics pointing to investments allegedly lost to states like Gujarat and Telangana.

00:34Reports say Foxconn has denied these claims by the Tamil Nadu government.

00:39Also that Foxconn has denied these claims of any fresh investment here.

00:44DMK Mantri has clarified that news of investment by Foxconn is true

00:49and that few in opposition were trying to vent bitterness of family feud

00:53in that it was a childish statement full of political vendetta.

01:04Opposition also accused the government of committing fraud and spreading false information.

01:17And that plan, the amount of investment and the chances for employment of so many people

01:26And Foxconn had held a discussion with the chief minister, with the secretariat,

01:30and thus that photos have come up in newspapers.

01:34So, they don't want to accept anything good to Tamil Nadu.

01:39That is BJP.

01:40Along with them is their stooge, PMK, Anbhumani.

01:46They say they don't want any good thing to happen to Tamil Nadu.

01:51Foxconn has already, he is having, holding discussion with the government, state government,

01:56which means they are going to invest.

02:41But Foxconn announced a 3,500 crore investment in Telangana.

02:45DMK and the entire cabinet stands exposed.

02:49All their achievements are fake lies and false.

02:52The clarification given by Foxconn yesterday clearly exposes the fact that there is a lot

02:59of discrepancy in terms of the fresh investments which are coming into Tamil Nadu.

03:03They had promised a large investment from Mito Sumi, from Japan.

03:07They had promised a lot of 15,000 crore investment from Semcorp in Singapore.

03:11But Semcorp has now moved to Gujarat.

03:13So Tamil Nadu as a state is losing out to states like Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Andhra,

03:19which are all very silently bringing in investment,

03:22whereas Tamil Nadu is only doing chest-thumping with false numbers and figures.

03:26The industry's minister has also got under the habit of lying from their leader

03:29and they are trying to manipulate people into believing that there is actual development.
