00:00Charlie Kirk was assassinated while addressing a group of students.
00:05The United States honors him as a martyr for truth and freedom.
00:23Despite receiving repeated threats, he remained undeterred and modeled courage, logic, and
00:30humor, and grace to the next generation.
00:34On September 10, 2025, at age 31, Charlie Kirk was assassinated while addressing a group
00:41of students.
00:42The United States honors him as a martyr for truth and freedom.
01:00Five weeks ago, our nation was robbed of this extraordinary champion.
01:07He was a champion in every way.
01:09I got to know him so well.
01:11He didn't like losing.
01:14He was assassinated in the prime of his life for boldly speaking the truth, for living
01:35his faith and relentlessly fighting for a better and stronger America.
01:39He loved this country.
01:40And that's why, this afternoon, it's my privilege to posumously award Charles James Kirk, our
01:47nation's highest civilian honor, the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
01:53Thank you, Mr. President, for honoring my husband in such a profound and meaningful way.
02:15And thank you for making this event a priority amid the peace process in the Middle East.
02:24Very grateful.
02:25Charlie, Charlie, excuse me.
02:29Charlie always admired your commitment to freedom.
02:33And that's something that both of you shared.
02:35So thank you.
