Tobagonians are weighing in on the $3.72 billion budget for Tobago. Six point three percent of the national budget, the highest budgetary allocation in the Assembly's 44-year history.

Here are some views.

00:00It's good. It's a good thing, but all I have to say, I hope they take the money and make good use for it for Tobago.
00:09Because all the time they were saying that they were restricted, they didn't have enough money to do what they want in Tobago.
00:15So as they get the highest allocation now, I hope they take it and do what they have to do to make a better life for Tobago Indians.
00:24A lot of persons are congratulating and waging that they got the 10%.
00:30But if they listen carefully, the 10% they said they are going to recall negotiations.
00:37They never said that they're going to get the 10% because even in the fiscal budget this 2025-26, there is no allocations for the 10%.
00:45So I wish Tobago the best, and I hope that whatever money is received, it is spent towards the people of Tobago,
00:54especially in the construction sector because we are seeing that most of the funds go back to the contractors in Trinidad
01:01and Tobago contractors are not getting anything.
01:04Depends on if they really give Tobago what they say they will give Tobago.
01:09Most of the time they just say that they would give Tobago that, give them a number and at the end of the day.
01:18But so far the assembly say they get all what they were supposed to get, so let's hope they live up to the world.

01:27No, I did not listen to the budget yesterday because I had no electricity in part of Mason Hall where I live.
01:35Has the electricity supply been restored?
01:37Of course it was restored after the budget finished.
01:41I can say that I am excited about the larger portion being given to Tobago,
01:46so I hope that we can utilize that to develop more social programs and whatnot so that we can enhance Tobago,
01:52especially within the tourism aspect as well.
01:55I am also excited about the agricultural developments that they are doing.
