00:00No Prep Kings is the biggest no-prep racing competition, where drivers race head-to-head
00:11to a finish line an eighth mile down the track.
00:18It is the most competitive style and form of drag racing there is right now.
00:23What makes no-prep different is, normally when you come to a racetrack, there's a bunch
00:31of glue, a bunch of rubber being drug on it.
00:35No Prep is kind of like the street, we mimic the street.
00:39You don't touch it, you just run on it.
00:42The best tuner is going to make it down that track.
00:45Yeah, you see a lot of guys saying what we do is easy.
00:49I wish they'd come out here and try to force a 4,500 horsepower car down this surface.
00:55We're going over 200 miles an hour in under 3.9 seconds.
00:58When you come out here, you're going to have to have your car together.
01:02It's very tricky to get down a no-prep track.
01:06I like no-prep because it's exciting.
01:08You actually feel the cars go down the track.
01:11The last five seasons, it's been about an individual winning the championship.
01:17The old format is out the window and now everything is about to change.
01:23There's not going to be another series that tops this one right here.
01:25If that don't make y'all skiing crawl, I don't think y'all like drag racing as much as I do.
01:29Woo!
01:30Woo!
01:31Wow!
01:32Welcome to No Prep Kings, baby.
01:38We are here.
01:39This is testing today and changing the format a little bit for No Prep Kings.
01:44It is now going to be team-based, so that's what we got going on today.
01:48Test in tune, followed up by the draft.
01:51I do appreciate y'all coming out on a wonderful Thursday.
01:54My name is Boosted.
01:55I am your friendly race master for the No Prep Kings series.
01:58Now, why do they call me Boosted?
01:59You know what?
02:00It's been so long, I don't really remember, but I think it's because I was one of the first
02:03guys on the street with a turbocharger.
02:08I started out on Street Outlaws racing my small-tired Mustang.
02:12We were tearing up the streets with all those guys from Oklahoma City who call themselves
02:16the 405.
02:17I appreciate y'all guys coming out here.
02:19Y'all are in the perfect place, which is behind my car.
02:21Keep those scissors.
02:22That's what it looks like.
02:23Yeah.
02:24I've never seen that.
02:25You guys put any money on it?
02:26You know what?
02:27400, 500?
02:28Let's do it.
02:35Boosted by two Greyhound bus links.
02:38On top of that, I also ran very large cash day races.
02:42We paid out a big pot for those guys.
02:44All right.
02:45Welcome to another Cash Days.
02:48I'm staring at 32 of the fastest guys that we could find to be a part of this little
02:52street race.
02:53So you're going to be racing for $50,000.
02:55And now have moved on to be the race master for make-a-cash days and no-prep teams.
03:02This season, the format, what do you think?
03:07I'll tell you if I win or not.
03:11This year, the Invitational is no longer an individual championship.
03:16It is a team championship.
03:19Racers will still collect points during every race.
03:22But it'll be the team with the most points at the end of the year who walks away with
03:27the championship prize of $200,000.
03:31Each of those teams will be led by one of the eight captains.
03:35Seven of the captains have already been chosen based on their leadership and dominance on
03:39the No Prep Kings track.
03:41First and foremost, Ryan Martin.
03:48Then, Murder Nova.
03:54Kai Kelly.
03:56Disco Dean.
03:57We've got a lot of work to do.
03:59Mike Murillo.
04:00Bodhi.
04:01And Justin Swanstrom.
04:02Which means one spot has yet to be determined.
04:16There was a vote held online decided by you, the viewer, and it's come down to Lizzie or Dave.
04:35Do you think you're going to win?
04:42I do.
04:43I do.
04:44Like, my fans have been behind me this whole time, the voting.
04:47And I've kept track of days one for me and days one for her.
04:51If I win the deal, I've got a handful of people I've got my eye on.
04:54Yeah.
04:55Me and Lizzie have been in a really close race for the team captain.
04:58They're going to announce that shortly.
05:00So I'm rooting for me.
05:02I hope I end up being a team captain so I can pick a team to win the championship this year.
05:06Well, good luck to you on your draw.
05:09If I win it.
05:10If I win it.
05:11Hey, good luck, man.
05:12I think I got it, though.
05:13Good luck.
05:14All right.
05:15Now we all know about this whole team captain deal.
05:25So if I am team captain, you know, last year was a lot of dealing with people getting their feelings hurt and stuff like that.
05:34This year is definitely a lot different.
05:36If I'm a team captain, I feel like I'm going to have to push the feelings aside.
05:40And if we're going to want to win this thing, we have to pick the best of the best.
05:44Okay.
05:45Let's go ahead and meet our captains.
05:48Mr. Ryan Martin.
05:51My name is Ryan Martin.
05:53I am from OKC, Oklahoma.
05:55I came second in the first two years MPK and won the last three championships in a row.
06:00We're going to bring you the fireworks.
06:03Okay.
06:04And then we're going to be there to call out number 10.
06:06And I am been a longtime member of the 405.
06:08I had a Mustang that freakin' wreakin' drove and then on to Jackie Knox of Sonoma.
06:13We took care of that for him.
06:15Neither one of those two did very well.
06:16My thought was, hey, these two guys that we helped, they didn't do that good.
06:19But I think I can do pretty good.
06:21First car anybody ever saw for me on Street Outlaws for me to drive was the Fireball Camaro.
06:25When MPK come along, it was a different avenue.
06:28It was something challenging.
06:29We could go fast.
06:30We were limited on the street.
06:32But at the racetracks, it's a different story.
06:34You could turn them up.
06:36All right, semi-finals.
06:38I draw Birdman.
06:39If he can pull it off and outrun me, it clenches his win for the championship.
06:42If I can outrun him, it's over with.
06:44So it is the biggest race for me of the year.
06:47I'm coming second twice.
06:53Ah, .
06:54Finishing second twice in a row, leading the whole season, losing at the end, is like a terrible feeling.
07:00World champion, Mike Murillo!
07:03Just gonna bust my ass next year and try to pull it off for season three.
07:14Ryan Fireball Morton wins the championship season three!
07:19So, winning the championship and actually pulling it off and getting your together to, like, make it happen,
07:25that, to me, that, I think, has been my best feeling in racing.
07:30You are the most dominant no-prep racer in all of no-prep racing.
07:44I've won three championships.
07:46I'm probably the most winning driver in MPK.
07:49I don't do well when I don't win, and I'm just driven to do that.
07:52That leadership is possibly why they chose me to be a captain.
07:55All right, next.
07:57My next captain right here, Mr. Murder Nova.
08:03My name's Sean Ellington, AKA Murder Nova.
08:06I'm from Oklahoma City, AKA 405.
08:09Murder Nova's actually the car.
08:11It became a name because everything that was shiny, everything that was pretty, everything that was chrome,
08:16I murdered it out.
08:18I made it all black.
08:19Whenever we used to race on the street, I wanted to not be seen.
08:27I got into racing because a lot of people go golfing, a lot of people go drinking, a lot of people gamble, you know?
08:33And doing the race car thing is kind of all of the above.
08:37Every time I let off the button, nothing else matters.
08:40Yeah.
08:41I know.
08:42I think we're evening it up on the money, on the money part of this deal.
08:46We are.
08:47When the 405 first started, we were just a bunch of gearheads out on the street that wanted to take money out of the equation.
08:55You don't have to have the deepest pockets there to go out and be a good street racer.
09:00You just had to be smart, and you had to read the road, and you had to put the power that the road would handle in it, and you could get wins.
09:07Mr. Merton over here is now our winner.
09:09Good job, man.
09:14All right, dude.
09:16Most of the time, it wasn't about the money.
09:18It was about being the baddest dude on the street at that night.
09:25When MPK first started, I didn't care about being a part of it.
09:28I didn't end up joining until season four, just because I'm not a track racer.
09:33My first year at MPK was a total disaster.
09:37I had a fast enough car to come out and compete.
09:53We just couldn't make the laps.
09:55Yeah, there's oil everywhere down here, bro, everywhere.
09:58We'd make one out of five, you know?
10:00And if you can't make the same run twice in a row, you're not going to get anywhere out here.
10:05There's multiple other people who have better careers in MPK than me, which is another reason why I'm all in this season.
10:13I have to do something.
10:14I have to make some changes.
10:16I'm tired of not going rounds.
10:18I've always felt like I've had a competitive car, and now we've just went and stepped that up a hundredfold.
10:24That's a good look.
10:26I was picked to be a team captain because I'm one of the original guys that started this.
10:31It's definitely not because of my performance in MPK.
10:35I've got to go find out where my car's at.
10:37It's not about friends anymore.
10:39It's about winning a championship and picking the four guys plus me that can help me get there.
10:45My next captain right here, Mr. Silver Metal himself, Kai Kelly.
10:50We're going to take him out.
10:51Probably need to take him out now.
10:56Damn, man. I wish I could have ran that dude.
10:58All right.
10:59My next captain right here, Mr. Mike Murillo.
11:02This team will never end, and we know that.
11:06That never changes until the end, until we're dead.
11:09Yep.
11:21All right.
11:22My next captain right here, Mr. Silver Metal himself, Kai Kelly.
11:29My name is Kai Kelly, and I'm from New Orleans, Louisiana.
11:32Total pot, $6,000 tomorrow night.
11:35Shocker versus John Doe, and it's going to be an awesome night for me.
11:38I was always a local thread around bars racing, but really when I made my big name was this $16,000 cash days.
11:52I beat some of the fastest street racers in a four or five.
11:55Great job, man.
11:57Then I want another one for $56,000.
12:01Kai Kelly, this is $56,000.
12:04You earned it, my friend.
12:07That's all you.
12:08Thanks, man.
12:09It was huge for me.
12:10It was huge for my name.
12:11You can't have 60 foot me.
12:12That's why I'm number one.
12:14After that, I kind of stopped getting invited.
12:17I wasn't really sure about the no prep when it first started, but it was racing.
12:20Racing's what I like to do.
12:21It was a new form of racing.
12:22It's something I wanted to try, so I just went all in and said we was going to try it.
12:26The first season, I finished 11th overall.
12:28It wasn't too bad considering you're racing 32 of the fastest guys in the world on no prep.
12:35Bad ass, man.
12:37Then the second season, that's the season I struggled.
12:39I finished 23rd.
12:40They're letting Ryan go, Kai.
12:41They're letting him run right now, Kai.
12:42That's .
12:43That's .
12:44That's .
12:45That's .
12:46That's .
12:47That's .
12:48That's .
12:49That's .
12:50And then season three came around.
12:51And I had a run at the championship.
12:54The motor ain't real healthy.
12:59We're going to take him out.
13:00He ain't taking him out now.
13:01Me and Ryan went in the Ennis, Texas, the championship race.
13:05And I had to beat him in round two.
13:06You pretty much got to blow your motor up to outrun him.
13:08And then I got to go one round further than that, you know?
13:11If I could have beat him in round two and won the race, I would have won the championship.
13:21Ryan Martin is your season three champion.
13:26And then season four, me and Ryan in the finals of the final race.
13:29Ryan Martin is your winner!
13:42Ryan Martin is your winner!
13:44You beat me again.
13:45Good job.
13:46Good job.
13:47Good job.
13:48Last year, it was like an emotional roller coaster.
13:50Nervous, Rick.
13:51Well, hey, you know what?
13:52Whatever you do, don't .
13:54Yeah.
13:55That's all.
13:56Same.
13:57That's okay.
13:58The only thing that happened was Ryan to go out first round.
14:00And Jim Howell took him out first round.
14:02All the cards were there.
14:03It was my time to win the championship.
14:05And Jim Howell gets the win!
14:07Jim ain't got nothing to lose, man.
14:09You got to take a stab out of him if you're chill.
14:11It's not Ryan Martin, Frank.
14:13It's just a Ryan Martin killer.
14:15That's right.
14:17So the way my luck goes with drawing, I drew Jim Howell in the second round.
14:22And Jim Howell takes the win!
14:25Ryan Martin is your 2020 No Prep Kings champion as Jim Howell takes out Kai Kelly.
14:34Not every part of my MPK career has been a disappointment, though.
14:37I got to race with Lizzy.
14:40About a year and a half ago, two years ago, we ended up getting engaged.
14:43I had a ring for about a year.
14:45I was waiting to win an invitational so I could do it.
14:47But for some reason, Ryan kept beating me in every final I went to.
14:50So I got tired of waiting.
14:52Can you marry me?
14:53Yes!
14:54Yes!
14:55So I decided it was time.
14:56I pulled the ring out, asked her to marry me.
14:58She said yes.
14:59And that's when we got engaged.
15:03Picking a team this year is going to be difficult because I've led the NOLA racers for a long time.
15:07And even since our street days, we've had a hard time getting along.
15:11Now you left early, you lost!
15:13You didn't see it!
15:16You didn't see it!
15:17You didn't see it!
15:18That's what I'd say, too, if I got gapped!
15:21Picking a damn in my ass!
15:22You!
15:23And, of course, the same thing happened in MPK.
15:26You jumped or no?
15:27No, I didn't jump, but you told me to, p*** you!
15:29I don't give a a, when I get a, hey!
15:32Hey, hey, hey!
15:33When it comes to the draft, the only person that ever screwed our championship race up was Ron Martin.
15:40He's a team captain. I can't pick him. So I just need to get as many of my people back as I can possibly get
15:45All right, my next captain right here. Mr. Mike Murillo
15:53My name is Mike Murillo and I'm from San Antonio, Texas. I am most known for driving La Fonda
16:00Fox body Mustang is the best car to try to go drag racing with slight compact
16:07It's a very popular car and I've won 16 world championships in several different genres
16:12I've been doing it since the early 90s, but I got bored. So at the end of 2012
16:18I had the opportunity of meeting murder Nova and chief
16:21Basically, they gave me a shot of running on the street with them gave me a little bit of help
16:25Hey, how's it going? We think about those wheels we got for you. I actually like them
16:30So what are the chances if I get this to work do a little bit of testing to run in your cash giveaway?
16:35I don't know what a cash to giveaway is. I know what a cash days is. That's it. So you're already ready for that deal. I think so
16:54Not too shabby
16:56The street stuff I used to do but I have absolutely been more of a track guy
17:01And so when the NPK stuff came along that's right up my alley
17:04I've been here from the very beginning, you know, we've raced our first race in Bowling Green
17:17First year we did kind of mass so-so our second year is when we really took off
17:21All right, Mike Merrill can win this race right here and leave with
17:30$90,000 in cash
17:32Man that was one of the biggest wins of my career
17:53How about them apples baby girl?
17:59There's only been three champions in this NPK and we're one of them. You can't ever take that away
18:06Ever since then we've been sliding downward and backwards
18:09And Tony McKinney gets there first
18:20At one point we had a crew of all Texas racers in the same click
18:26Well Birdman and I were kind of the leaders of that obviously because we won two championships and at some point the majority of them
18:34Broke off and started their own click
18:36We haven't been able to put anything together as a team and uh, we want to start our own team
18:43You know, it makes sense on our end. They're just there needs to be something new to kick us in the ass basically
18:49Whether it's part of that works for you. Me too
18:52I want to point out
18:54That none of them are here any longer
18:57But Birdman and I are still here
18:59This team will never end and we know that that never changes until the end till we're dead. Yep
19:04My next team captain
19:07Mr. Bodie from California
19:12You know, just put yourself in a position to race is a lot of hard work
19:16There's a starting line as Bodie gets into the wall, okay?
19:22Yeah
19:23I don't know how I knocked the tires off so hard like that
19:28Yes, sir. Sir, yes, sir. Disco D
19:32If you want to keep up with the Martins and the Muses and all the fast people we have to have a competitive team
19:37My next team captain
19:52Mr. Bodie, California
19:55My name is Jermaine Bodie, San Francisco, California
19:58I'm driving my 68 camaro corrupt
20:01Brand new setup man. I changed it up man. I was turbo for a lot of years. I couldn't keep up man
20:06I went in and revamped this thing. I got a pro charge noonan in there and I'm ready to play bad boy
20:13We got a hot ride. We got a hot ride
20:16I've been racing since I can remember man. My dad and my uncle they both pushed me to racing
20:21I can easily say I've been racing since I was about 15 years old man
20:24It's the first time I ever got in the car. I wanted to race it. Nobody think we can win this race
20:27They never thought we'd be here. We got everything to gain nothing to lose
20:31Let's go out there and show them y'all that
20:33California ain't to be messing with man. We finna go out there and knock them out
20:36I think I was picked as a team captain because I feel like I got great leadership skills, man
20:40I feel like I can get people to trust in me and and they know that I'm bringing my my heart to every race
20:54I think I'm known all around the country for just being a big camera
21:00That's three hundred thousand anywhere three hundred thousand gonna be I would be here man
21:04I'm a competitive person man regardless of the results
21:06I'm coming to win anything other than first place
21:08I'm disappointed and I want to kind of team that we all be disappointed and can't wait to try it again
21:14You know just to put yourself in a position to race is a lot of hard work
21:18All right, I don't care how many times you kick me i'm gonna get up and keep fighting
21:24You know how I knocked the tires off so hard like that
21:27It is what it is. We beat the car up hurt the motor and it just happened so I got to show them next time man
21:32You'll get it fixed though. Yeah
21:34My best moment in racing was when I got to see my son race
21:37My daddy got to see me race for me to be able to bring my kid up and bring him here for mpk
21:42Competing with all the fastest racing in the world
21:45That's my highlight moment, man
21:48You always want to be the fastest guy out here, but you got to know how to carry a team you got to strategize
21:53You got to help get your guys to the top. I think it's great man. It's gonna hurt a lot of feelings man
21:57Because it's a performance-based
21:59Program now if your car ain't performing you're gonna be out of there
22:03Man, I feel great coming into this season man. It's a whole new format. I got a whole new combination. I just redid my car
22:11I feel like I got a car that compete now
22:14I got opportunity to pick me and draft me a team
22:16Man, I'm stoked. I'm gonna be all right this year. We put it in the work for your car. We set it up
22:22Yeah, I think you're gonna go out there and do good
22:24You don't get to pick your side, man
22:26Nah, my son is he's not gonna be my first pick man
22:29I can't give you my first pick because I don't believe he's the fastest car out here
22:33Yes, sir. Sir. Yes, sir. Hello. Disco Dean
22:36My name is Dean Carnes, but on the track you probably know me as Disco Dean and my car's name stinky pinky
22:43I've been competing in MPK the full six years
22:47All right, I need my final pair number six teams
22:51Man, I got a small tire car Kenjo Kelly gonna take on Disco Dean
22:59All right
23:06Number 11's golly look at this guy. We got Amarillo Mike and he is racing stinky pinky in the right lane
23:14Check the blower belt. This is what happens. So you're happy and then all of a sudden you turn sad real quick
23:24Good right, man. You too, man. My personality is number one positive happy outgoing comedic
23:29I like to be funny and always have a good time with everybody
23:32Anybody know we get a corndog?
23:35And nobody knows where the corndogs are
23:37I felt like Indiana Jones here on this and I'm telling you right now
23:40I've searched high I've searched low and there are no corndogs to be found on the premises
23:45So now we got to resort to our second best option
23:49Oh, do you see this? What do you know about chocolate sprinkles and ice cream?
23:55Guy, Pierre, he ain't got on us
23:58At the time the 405 was like the only true hardcore
24:02Team that stuck together looked out for each other, you know did the things that a team should do to get to the top
24:08So I wanted to form the same band of people people that I like that were my friends that you could hang out with go to dinner
24:13With that you could chill with and you could also race with we were the outcasts
24:18We have to make a move in the points. We need to knock a bunch of them out. Yeah, we need to knock them out early
24:22So we can gain more points on them
24:24Realistically, we got a really good shot to come out with a lot of points this this weekend
24:27I mean, I've seen a lot of intakes off seeing a lot of rear ends out a lot of transmission
24:31I think some people are starting to hurt we're midway through the season and this is testing the durability of the teams or parts and what they got
24:37I finished sixth overall for the entire season, which is a huge accomplishment for me
24:45After that season I put together a team of a bunch of ohio drivers tim brown tony mckinney b-rad all of us stuck together and formed the dean's list
24:53The main thing is if you want to keep up with the martins and the muses and all the fast people
24:57We have to have a competitive team. I came away with some big wins against drivers like scott taylor
25:07Oh
25:13And ryan mark
25:20And dean disco dean gets the win at his home track
25:28I'm proud of you, bro
25:31I'm proud of you
25:32So last season uh
25:33I put the chevelle on the street took it off the no prep surface
25:37It was just a car that was built a long time ago, and I had to re-up and be faster
25:41I mean everybody is so fast, so I built a 2014 cadillac ctsv coupe
25:48Hey, they missed the paint color though they did
25:50Why what happened that's not pink that ain't pink no you crazy you colorblind got a little pearl in it
25:57You know why because you always see that red light too you colorblind supposed to be looking for green
26:04You want to see if you fit in it or not if you fit in it i'll definitely fit in it you think so yeah
26:09Yeah
26:11It was good. Thank you, bud. It looks really good. It came out the gate hauling ass
26:26And then changing cars midseason is really tricky uh we never really got ahead of the eight ball stayed behind it
26:39All right, so kayla mort gonna get the win disco dean's car shuts off
26:45Happened so obviously last season didn't end the way I wanted to I wanted the dean's list to have a lot more wins
26:51We didn't get that we finished somewhere right in the middle of the pack
26:55My next team captain mr. Justin swanstrom. I'm from a grudge racing background, so I like to gamble. I like to run for money
27:00How much you want to bet on ron
27:02Yeah
27:04That's the difference I am living you see I drive bonnie
27:12Would never thought of the race in the season with breast cancer
27:17But here I am
27:22All right, my next team captain mr. Justin swanstrom
27:25I'm just a swanstrom. I'm from separate hills, florida. I drive a 2018 lexus rc
27:34350 i'm from a grudge racing background, so I like to gamble. I like to run for money
27:38What'd you say?
27:40That's cool. What'd you say before that because I won my round too, so the pizza coming back around too. How much you want to bet on ron?
27:47bet five granted
27:55That's the difference there's a lot of people think i'm cocky and i'm arrogant stuff
27:59It's not that i just don't put up with bull
28:01I feel like right is right wrong is wrong. That's the way I was raised
28:12Yes, that's a difference this is my third season of street outlaw no prep kids
28:22Most people refer to me as little country growing up, you know drag racing, you know my dad was big country, you know me being his son
28:28The name just kind of stuff. Did you see anybody that you liked that you didn't like?
28:33I think the ones that look the best
28:35Was there the where's the guys that aren't that you don't think it's not as fast?
28:39My relationship with my dad is amazing. You know, uh, he we've seen each other every day since the day I was born
28:45Uh, we're always with each other. He tunes on my car. Uh, he helps drive the rigs from race to race
28:50Just like me. My dad will always stand up for what he believes in
28:54She got on me on the starting line
28:56How the did I deserve it? You tried to defend your boy
28:59Then I believe if we're teams we need to talk about it
29:02But I got what I got from you on that
29:05If you think I'm gonna respect you after you do that to me, I'm not
29:09He'll always be in my uh, my corner helping me out doing what we got to do to be able to win races and it makes great memories
29:15There is times that we bicker and we fight and we argue it is what it is five minutes later. We are back to normal
29:22First year at our third race
29:25We won south georgia
29:32And it kind of set a statement to all the other drivers that you know, even though i'm young i'm here to win congratulations man y'all earned it
29:40I also took out ryan morin second round of that race
29:50I think that's what really put us up on top where I was kind of on cloud nine
29:55Ryan was basically unstoppable at the time if you earned it good job. Thank you appreciate it man
30:03For me to be able to come out there and beat him everybody was like dan there's a new kid on the block
30:08You drove
30:10Going into my second year
30:12We got into a wreck with david atkins
30:14Oh my god
30:21Oh my god
30:23That set us back a little bit.
30:41All right.
30:42Yeah.
30:43The car is nowhere going to be perfect.
30:44It wasn't perfect when it left.
30:45How do you feel about that?
30:54I feel like we should take the next six months to make it really nice.
30:58That's what I'm thinking.
30:59We work fast around here.
31:01I'm not going to a beauty pageant.
31:02I'm going to try to run a race.
31:04Well, we were able to finish off the year in third place.
31:10They kind of proved to everybody that the first year, the rookie year, wasn't a fluke.
31:14Justin Swanstrom gets there.
31:16He will take the win light.
31:18I know I'd be a good leader.
31:19My parents have raised me to be a leader my whole life.
31:21Even though I'm young, I've always had a higher position and ran a team or ran a crew to be able to move forward in life.
31:28So I think I'll be just fine.
31:31All right.
31:33As you can see, there are seven captains here.
31:36There is one table that is empty right here.
31:39That one table is for the captain that was picked with a popular vote.
31:45And it came down to two drivers.
31:48Lizzie, Daddy Dave, step up here, please.
31:51Come on.
31:55All right.
31:56How you doing?
31:57I'm Lizzie Musi.
31:58I drive Bonnie.
31:59Come, Lizzie.
32:00And I'm ready to kick some ass this year.
32:02Ah, water.
32:03You have water?
32:04So it's been a while.
32:05We had a plan for a test session before the season started.
32:10And we actually tested in Virginia, which was the day that I actually got the news about my diagnosis.
32:20I felt like a marble-sized lump in my breast and grew, like, really fast.
32:30It got, like, to a golf ball size.
32:33They told me that, yeah, it is cancer, and it's actually a really fast, aggressive-growing cancer.
32:42They staged me out at three.
32:45So, eight o'clock this morning, we went for an ultrasound.
32:49Once I did my PET scan, it went to my liver, and then it went to a stage four.
32:54They say it's not curable.
32:56This ultrasound turned into a two-hour ultrasound, and come to find out, they found some other findings.
33:03Now, here we are at No Prep Kings, first race of the season.
33:09I would never thought I'd be racing the season with breast cancer, but here I am.
33:14Wig fixed.
33:15I need a brushed damn wig, man.
33:17And I don't have no hair.
33:22Basically.
33:26So I'm just being straight up with you guys.
33:28Right now, this is a wig.
33:30I'm trying to take it in a positive way.
33:34You guys never know what color I'm gonna wear.
33:37When I get in that car, it's like no feeling, like no other.
33:41All right, let's do it.
33:45As long as I feel good, I'm gonna keep doing what I'm doing.
33:49Dave, that was quite the campaign.
33:51Definitely.
33:52That was extremely hard to campaign against her.
33:54Extremely hard.
33:55It was hard.
33:56Kept going back and forth, back and forth.
33:57Right.
33:58Crazy.
33:59The votes have been talented.
34:00Fans, I first want to say thank you for participating.
34:03That is awesome.
34:04The participation was amazing.
34:06Your eighth and final captain will be...
34:09The reason why my car's pink, one of the reasons is, you know, there's a lot of cancer on my side of the family.
34:21Lindsay's had cancer.
34:22There's cancer on both sides of my family.
34:24And the main thing is, we want to contribute as much as we can.
34:28Not only by the car being pink, but by touching base with everybody.
34:31And we try to donate as much as we can every year.
34:33Thankfully, Jim at AMI donates some money too.
34:36And then we do a cancer shirt and we do donations to the Jake's Cancer Research Foundation.
34:41This is a check for you guys.
34:43This is TJ, everybody.
34:44Our donation for this year to the Jake's Cancer Foundation.
34:46Thank you for everything you guys do for everybody with cancer and everything you do for the research.
34:50Thanks for what you guys do.
34:51This is a...
34:52Absolutely.
34:53What a way to help spread the cheer and help try and work together on creating and help appear.
34:59That's right.
35:00Stinky Pinky and we're out.
35:02The votes have been tallied.
35:07Your eighth and final captain will be...
35:14Daddy Dave.
35:15All right.
35:16Good job.
35:17I'm proud of you.
35:18I'm proud of you.
35:19I'm proud of you.
35:20I'm proud of you.
35:21I'm proud of you.
35:22I feel great.
35:24America has stood behind me and they've spoken and I won the people's choice team captain.
35:31Dave, please go take your seat at the captain table.
35:34Good job.
35:35I'm proud of you.
35:36Great job, y'all.
35:37Good job, you.
35:38Okay.
35:44My name's David Comstock.
35:45I currently live in Mustang, Oklahoma.
35:47I was born in Longmont, Colorado.
35:54We just made two hits right next to the highway.
35:57We need to get the out of here.
35:59Don't feel that smart.
36:00Back in 92, after I graduated, I decided to go back to where I was born.
36:04So I loaded me, my dog, my clothes and my toolbox and I'm back in a 1980 Monte Carlo and I headed for Colorado.
36:10Didn't know it, but I ran out of money in Oklahoma City.
36:13Just flat broke.
36:14End up meeting Tony Matos, which is Wayne Barley's stepson.
36:18Met him at a red light.
36:19We actually raced.
36:20I followed him back to Barley's auto in performance and that's where it all started.
36:25It's just been an uphill ever since then.
36:27That's kind of how I got my name.
36:28I'd race somebody and when I beat him, I would ask him where their daddy was.
36:33Oh yeah.
36:34Let's go test this bitch.
36:36Over the years, I've owned a bunch of cars, but the one that got me all started in this was the Sonoma back at the beginning of Street Outlaws.
36:43That truck was a lot of fun and it's won us a lot of money.
37:02Bad ass race.
37:03But it was time for me to step out and then I got the Chevy too.
37:06Who's your daddy, baby?
37:07Hell yeah.
37:08Growing up, I was at the track testing tunes or bracket racing and then I was on the street.
37:23So I'm no stranger to the track.
37:26The whole MPK thing in the track, we got real fast cars.
37:29The surface comes around and it gives us the ability to go three second passes at 200 mile an hour.
37:34Four or five years in MPK and it's been a roller coaster ride.
37:45I've finished in the top ten quite a bit.
37:47I've been in the top five.
37:49We've been using the Chevy 2 for, you know, for five seasons.
37:54And if you know these cars, you know they're a brake.
37:56Just a big square and it's hard to push a lot of air with it.
37:59Bob Tynan at Tynan Race Cars, he's my chassis guy.
38:01He's been over the Chevy 2.
38:02He's redone up front and back.
38:04And he just come to me and said, hey, let's build a car for MPK.
38:07One that can compete.
38:08One that's aerodynamic, you know.
38:10And stop pushing all this air and let's actually go fast.
38:13So I gave Bob the checkbook and the Audi's what he came up with.
38:17It's aerodynamic.
38:18It fits the big tire that we're allowed.
38:20So I got a lot of expectations for this car.
38:26And hopefully this will be the year that I can win an Invitational.
38:35With three of us being from the 405, we're going to get split up.
38:38You know, the 405 is going to go separate directions.
38:40And a lot of people voted for me and I don't want to let these people down.
38:43So I'm going to go out there and try to win the team championship.
38:46And it's just a little sweeter when you can go out and beat Ryan Martin's team or Murder Nova's team.
38:51So let's find out who has the first pick.
38:53Our eight team captains will each pick drivers from the draft pool one by one.
38:58For the Dean's last, the first round draft pick will be Jerry Bird.
39:02There's no sense in bull****, Scooter. Get your ass over here.
39:05Oh, Scooter! Scott Taylor!
39:07Hey, Taylor.
39:08Man, hey, Bodie Jr., man, what you think about that?
39:11Hey, you're riding in different cars back home.
39:16Jeff Lutz, come on, baby.
39:17Axeman, step up.
39:20Until all eight teams have five drivers each.
39:23That concludes the draft.
39:30Kai Kelly's got a pre-stacked team. He got Lizzy.
39:33Them two together are two thorns in my side for the last four years.
39:37David Gates has a good program. He's got all of Kai's old stuff, which runs really well.
39:41And Bodie Jr.'s got a pro-charged Hemi combination that potentially could run as good as my car does.
39:46I think our team, we got fast high-rise and we ain't got no quit.
39:50We're going after that 200,000.
39:52I'm happy with the team I chose.
39:54We got a strong, strong team to be able to win this championship.
39:57I got guys that's going to be fast no matter what. I got an opportunity to win.
40:01We got the team we want. We got to do everything we can. Failure's not an option.
40:06I feel like I have constructed one of the most indestructible teams there is.
40:12You want people you can hang out with, go to dinner with, get under your car and work with.
40:17And if you're stressed out or you're broke down on the side of the road, you want somebody that's going to pull over and help your ass.
40:21And that's the team we've come up with tonight.
40:23Look, my drivers that are in what I call the bullpen, you are not on a team.
40:28You are going to be in the reserves, which means you don't belong to a team.
40:31Basically like a free agent, right?
40:33James, Doc Love, I am 405 till I die. So breaking the 405 up breaks my heart.
40:42Well, I didn't get picked. So I should be pissed. I should be bummed. I should just say, this place, load up and go home.
40:49But that's not me. That's not who I am. I'm going to take all that energy and anger and frustration and I'm going to take it out on the team captains.
40:57I'm going to make every one of them regret not picking me.
41:01Put your hands together one last time for these teams. Again, this is a huge format change for No Prep Kings.
41:08I truly wanted to pick Doc, you know, and it came down to who's going to go more rounds.
41:16I chose Manny Alvarez as my final pick. I went with my brain over my heart and I think I got a pretty solid team.
41:22That'll do it for us tonight. Thank you so much.
