Frustration mounts among Qantas customers as personal data released on dark web

Qantas customers whose personal data was posted on the dark web have voiced their concerns and disappointment.

00:26Cyber criminals tricked an airline call centre worker in the Philippines

00:30into handing over access to information on third-party platform Salesforce.

00:35The Office of the Australian Information Commissioner would not comment

00:39on whether Qantas will be fined over the data hack.

00:42Experts say with the airline recently reporting a $1.6 billion full-year profit,

00:49the size of any penalty must be enough to teach Qantas and other companies a lesson.

00:55The key lesson is to prioritise security over trying to maximise profits for shareholders.

01:03Experts say the case against the airline could be complex if it tried to blame Salesforce.
