00:00What's up GQ? It's Shay Gildas Alexander.
00:02Today I'm going undercover on the internet.
00:04It's actually me.
00:06It's me, for real. Seriously.
00:10Instagram.
00:13Sneaker of the year, question mark, question mark, question mark.
00:16I mean, obviously I'm a little biased, but I sold out in minutes, so that might have the answer for you.
00:22Can anyone explain his captions to me?
00:24This is a pretty long one, so yeah, it would take a little bit of explaining.
00:28But to sum it up in a few words, this caption, obviously, after we won, I basically was just talking about the doubters and the naysayers.
00:35All year, we just, well, me personally, kept notes and kept track of the people that didn't believe in what they're saying, and it all came out in this caption.
00:44Posted.
00:51If I could, I would play soccer. Soccer is my first sport. I'd probably play soccer.
00:55How do I get some baby shoes from my twins?
00:58They're eight months now.
00:59I need them stomping at Shay ones.
01:01Unfortunately, those are only from my little one.
01:04His one-on-ones as of now, so yeah, I'm sorry about that.
01:07You won't get those ones.
01:08Maybe on the second pair, we'll work on those.
01:11This one's less of a question, more of a statement.
01:14Best dressed in the NBA.
01:15Yeah, I just, I do my thing.
01:17I have fun with it.
01:18I let the people decide.
01:19But yeah, I appreciate it.
01:20Shay, how are you so consistent?
01:24Most consistent man on planet Earth.
01:26Seriously answering, I try to do everything in routine, whatever it is in life.
01:31Jokingly answering, I'm sick of the consistent questions and the consistent jokes.
01:36I'm good on those.
01:37Posted.
01:38Next, Wikipedia.
01:40All right, Wikipedia.
01:44Growing up in Hamilton, he did not make the St. Thomas More Jr. team in grade nine and subsequently played on the school's midget squad.
01:51He ended up winning team MVP and leading St. Thomas More to the Midget Boys City Championship.
01:56All facts, midget is just ninth grade, so I didn't make JV.
02:00I was like below, below, below.
02:02So like if I went to school in New York, I wouldn't have played on the team.
02:04I was a little bit disappointed, but like I remember texting my mom after that.
02:08It was an eye-opener for me.
02:09It was like a wake-up call.
02:10I was going to make everyone doubted me regret it one day.
02:13It's safe to say they did.
02:15All right, TikTok.
02:16Let's do it.
02:21I don't think we're going to be losing for much longer.
02:23Spoke it into existence.
02:24I would be lying if I said I thought we'd win this fast, but I definitely believed in myself and my teammates at that time to just get better and ultimately reach our goals.
02:35And we did pretty fast, a little bit faster than maybe we did in the world expected, but that's what happens when you put your head down and you work hard and you don't worry about anything else besides that.
02:44Posted.
02:46Bro, OKC looks like it would be a funny team to be on.
02:49It is like a family.
02:50I wonder who SGA would say is the funniest on the team.
02:53Um, there's like different types of humor on our team.
02:59Wigs is like, Aaron Wiggins is like the dry humor.
03:02Like in terms of like being the most funny, I would say he's the funniest.
03:06And then we have like goofy humor and that's dub Jalen Williams.
03:09And then we have like trolling humor.
03:12And that's Chad.
03:14There's different types of humor.
03:15But if I had to like say one guy, I would say Wigs for sure.
03:18Next, I'm gonna need a Nick Gallo jersey because of the way he's been with the team in the postgame interviews.
03:23I love it.
03:24And he's the best.
03:25Nick Gallo is indeed the best.
03:27I always ask him, like, I don't know how he stays in character for so long when guys are putting sweaters on him, towels all over his head.
03:34Hats off to Nick Gallo.
03:35He's a gold man.
03:36Posted.
03:37Next, let's check X.
03:45I wonder how SGA feels about being on the cover of NBA 2K26.
03:49I feel surreal to this moment.
03:51Like even seeing the cover for months now and knowing I was gonna be on it.
03:54Just like seeing it in stores, seeing people play it is an unreal feeling.
03:59I grew up playing 2K like I'm sure the rest of the kids that love basketball did.
04:03And for everyone to turn on their system and see a picture of me, the cover athlete, as soon as they turn it on, it's a special feeling for sure.
04:19We don't take it serious until like the ball really tips.
04:22What you guys would think it would be, it probably is like we're goofing around, listening to music.
04:26Guys are still like getting their routine in, but it's like very lighthearted.
04:29It's very chill.
04:30When the game starts, nothing else matters to us besides winning.
04:34And then we know if we win, we'll be able to have a little bit more fun after.
04:38When that ball goes up, we turn it on pretty well.
04:40Balancing the two between like playing around, joking, having fun and taking it serious.
04:45I think like to our core, we're just like really hard competitors, really tough competitors.
04:49We prioritize winning when it matters and then everything else is lighthearted and fun.
04:53Next.
04:54Shea won, sold out in like 30 seconds.
04:57Didn't stand a chance.
04:58Ah, you gotta be quicker.
05:00Devon, No Limit Devo.
05:02Gotta be a little bit quicker.
05:03There's three pairs coming out on October 2nd though.
05:06You should have a better chance at those.
05:07I wonder what SGA is doing right now.
05:10Well, I'm currently with GQ reading this comment.
05:13Let's see.
05:14August 18th at 1 26 PM.
05:16If it was a weekday, I was probably just finishing lifting.
05:19And if it was a weekend, I was chilling, probably running around chasing my son.
05:23Replied.
05:24Quora.
05:25What is, what's Quora?
05:28What, like I've never heard of that.
05:30What are the notable routines and habits of Shea Gilders Alexander?
05:37I hoop.
05:38I work out.
05:39I lift.
05:40I spend time with my friends and family.
05:41I do regular things.
05:43One of my like kind of habits I do on game days is I eat an apple 30 minutes before every
05:49game.
05:50Just to give me a little bit like a sugar boost before I go out there.
05:52What are some realistic expectations for Shea Gilders Alexander's future?
05:56Honestly, I don't really have any expectations at this point.
05:59You can go as far as you want.
06:00But like, I truly believe putting expectations is kind of like putting a limit on yourself.
06:04You can achieve what you want and beyond if you just work at it, do the right things
06:08or take the right steps to get there.
06:09No expectations for me.
06:11How do you pronounce Shea Gilders Alexander?
06:13Well, Shea Gilders Alexander.
06:14I know some people say shy.
06:16It's, it's definitely Shea.
06:18The confusing part is probably the Gilgis.
06:20So it's Gilgis.
06:22How would you describe Shea Gilders Alexander's unique style of play?
06:26Smooth.
06:27Calm.
06:28Silky.
06:29Very reactive.
06:30Nothing is premeditated.
06:31I don't predict what the defense is going to do.
06:33I don't try to like plan what I'm going to do on a given possession or play.
06:36My instincts and my skill just take over and I just play the game.
06:40Make or miss.
06:41Posted.
06:42Reddit.
06:43Best dress on the team.
06:48I'm going to say Alex Caruso.
06:53By far Alex Caruso.
06:55Okay.
06:56SGA growing up.
06:57Know he's mentioned Kobe a bit, but wondering how Kobe influenced Shea as a kid.
07:01Does anyone know the whole story?
07:03Yeah.
07:04Kobe's influence on me was, was huge growing up.
07:06His mentality and his work ethic is what stood out to me above all.
07:10That really struck a chord with me and stayed with me for sure.
07:13This is so inspiring.
07:15They were so underestimated.
07:17I want to know what this sort of rise requires.
07:19Like what were they channeling?
07:21I think like above all, as a team, we genuinely just like, whatever it took to win, is what
07:28we focused on.
07:29Obviously playing against different opponents every night changes things.
07:32Figuring out what it takes and then doing whatever it takes to get it done.
07:35It's what we did a really good job at this year.
07:38No matter who was hurt, who was playing.
07:40Not making any excuses for ourselves and going out there and trying to win games.
07:45Alright guys.
07:46That's it for me.
07:47Shea Gibbs Alexander.
07:48I'm signing off the internet.
