Coolawang stud principal Trevor James sums up a great sale where lot 1 ram topped at $17,000.
Transcript
00:00He's just got the excellent breed height, all of his breed traits are good, well structured,
00:15good on his feet, well muscled and an excellent flesh support and in this day and age with
00:21the crossbred wool, improving in price, wool quality is an issue and so he was the standout
00:28sheep for a wool quality both in Lake Sand Valley and Wycroft.
00:33Compared to what we thought we would be three months ago and the change in the season and
00:37the livestock prices, we're just ecstatic about the way this sale has gone at the end.
00:42We're always concerned about clearance and today's clearance has been excellent, I believe
00:47we already passed one in.
00:48This spring will see some excellent prices for Second Cross lambs that can produce an
00:55export weight lamb on grass, out of mum and without having to go into their feeding system.
01:02So I think the First Cross U, the Terminor lamb is still going to be one of the most important
01:10sheep enterprises going forward.
