FAITH DURING DIFFICULT TIMES

It’s easy to trust God when all is well, but true faith shines brightest in times of difficulty. Real faith is not based on circumstances but on the certainty of God’s unchanging Word.

00:06The Bible declares in Hebrews 4.12,

00:08for the Word of God is alive and powerful.

00:11Now, prepare your heart and mind for today's Word with Bishop Edward Brink.

00:18Greetings.

00:20In the wonderful name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,

00:24welcome to another edition of Life-Changing Word.

00:32Today, I would like to talk to you about faith during difficult times.

00:42Let us look at Proverbs 3, verse 5, where it says,

00:47Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding.

00:57And Hebrews 11, verse number 1 says,

01:01Now, faith is the substance of things hoped for,

01:10the evidence of things not seen.

01:14And again, we are talking to you today about faith during difficult times.

01:27And in my introduction, I would like to say that faith is the foundation of every believer.

01:39Faith is the very core of a believer's life.

01:44It connects us to God's promises and gives us strength to endul life's trials.

01:55It's easy to trust God when all is well,

02:00but true faith shines brightest in times of difficulty.

02:05Real faith is not based on circumstances, but on the certainty of God's unchanging Word.

02:17Even when life feels uncertain,

02:21we can trust or we can rest in the truth that God remains faithful.

02:30And let me just say this to you that, yes, God is faithful to His promises.

02:38God is not a man that He should lie.

02:43God is a promise-keeping God.

02:48And having said that, I would like to talk to you about how to exercise faith during difficult times.

03:00Romans 10, verse number 8 says,

03:13But what does it say, the word is near you, in your mouth, and in your heart?

03:24That is the word of faith which we preach.

03:30Faith must be spoken.

03:33Listen, what we speak during difficult times reveals what we truly believe.

03:43The mouth of faith speaks God's promises even when circumstances seems impossible.

03:53Our words have power.

03:56They can either agree with doubt or align with the Word of God.

04:05When we declare God's Word, we release His authority into our situations.

04:15Faith-filled speech can transform fear into courage and despair into hope.

04:23During trials, instead of saying, I can't make it,

04:29faith says, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

04:36Philippians 4, verse number 13.

04:40The mouth of faith always agrees with the Word of God.

04:47Number 2.

04:50The ear of faith.

04:51The ear of faith.

04:53Faith is not just a belief.

04:57It is a, or let me put it like this, excuse me, let me rephrase.

05:06Faith grows by hearing the Word of God.

05:12Romans 10, verse number 17 says,

05:16So then, faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.

05:26People of God, what we allow into our ears influences our faith.

05:33If we listen to negative voices of fear and doubt,

05:39our faith weakens.

05:42But when we listen to God's Word through preaching, reading, and meditation, faith is strengthened.

05:52In difficult times, we must tune our spiritual ears to hear God's promises more than the world's problems.

06:04Faith begins where the Word of God is heard and believed.

06:09To sustain faith during trials, we must continually feed on God's Word.

06:19And that's according to 2 Corinthians 5, verse number 7, where it says,

06:35For we walk by faith, not by sight.

06:41The walk of faith means trusting God even when the path is unclear.

06:49It means obeying His Word even when we cannot see the outcome.

06:57During difficult seasons, we must choose to walk by what God has said rather than what we see or feel.

07:10People of God, people of God, you remember when Abraham left his homeland without knowing where he was going.

07:19He walked by faith.

07:22When Peter stepped out of the boat to walk on water, he acted on faith.

07:31Likewise, we must walk daily trusting God.

07:37Or, let me repeat that, we must walk daily trusting that God is leading us even when the journey is uncertain.

07:52Then number 4, I got here the eyes of faith.

07:59According to Hebrews 12, verse number 2, that says,

08:06Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith,

08:15who for the joy that was set before Him and yield the cross.

08:22Faith sees Jesus at the center of every situation.

08:27The eyes of faith look beyond pain and focus on God's promises.

08:35When our eyes are fixed on Jesus Christ, we find strength to endure hardship.

08:47Difficult times often distract us with fear and discouragement.

08:53But when we look to Jesus, but when we look to Jesus, we see hope.

09:01He endured suffering but triumphed, showing us that faith in God will always lead to victory.

09:12Number 5, don't give up.

09:21Galatians 6, verse number 9 reminds us,

09:26And let us not grow weary while doing good.

09:32For in due season, for in due season, we shall reap if we do not lose heart.

09:39In moments of weakness, it may seem easier to give up.

09:46But faith holds on until the promise is fulfilled.

09:52Many blessings are lost because people stop believing too soon.

09:58God's timing is perfect and those who wait in faith will see His goodness.

10:09Number 6, the testing of our faith.

10:17James 1, verse number 3 says,

10:21Knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.

10:31Every believer's faith will be tested.

10:36Tests are not meant to destroy us but to strengthen us.

10:41Trials refine our faith, removing doubt and unbelief like gold purified by fire.

10:53Faith becomes stronger after enduring difficulties.

10:59God uses trials to build spiritual endurance and deepen our trust in Him.

11:08And then, in number 7, waiting on God.

11:17Psalm 37, verse number 7 says,

11:20Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him.

11:26Do not fret because of Him who prospers in His ways.

11:33Waiting is one of the hardest acts of faith.

11:37It requires trust that God is working even when nothing seems to be happening.

11:46Waiting on God teaches us patience, humility, and dependence.

11:53During the waiting season, faith whispers,

11:57God is still in control.

12:01So, what is it that we have learned from this lesson?

12:09We have learned that faith is not just a feeling,

12:15but a firm trust in God's Word.

12:19Faith speaks, listens, walks, and sees differently.

12:25It refuses to give up, grows through testing, and patiently waits on God.

12:35True faith is not measured by how we respond when life is easy,

12:41but by how we endule when life is hard.

12:47People of God, this is now the conclusion of our teaching for today,

12:54faith during difficult times.
