00:06The Bible declares in Hebrews 4.12,
00:09for the Word of God is alive and powerful.
00:12Now, prepare your heart and mind for today's word with Bishop Edward Brink.
00:18Greetings in the wonderful name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
00:24Welcome to another edition of Life-Changing Word.
00:33My title for today,
00:36Pillars of a Strong Foundation.
00:42According to 2 Timothy 2, verse 19,
00:48it says,
00:50Nevertheless, the solid foundation of God stands.
00:58Having the seal, the Lord knows those who are His.
01:04And let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
01:13And then we also look at Proverbs 10, verse number 25.
01:18When the whirlwind passes by,
01:23the wicked is no more,
01:27but the righteous has an everlasting foundation.
01:34Once again, we're talking about
01:36pillars of a strong foundation.
01:42Let us now look at the power of a strong foundation.
01:49A foundation determines the strength and endurance of everything built upon it,
01:58whether it's a house, a nation, or a spiritual life.
02:04The quality of the foundation decides how well it will withstand the pressures of time and trial.
02:17Spiritually, a strong foundation represents the unshakable faith,
02:24obedience, obedience, and trust we have in God through Jesus Christ.
02:34So, people of God,
02:38without this foundation,
02:41life becomes unstable,
02:45easily shaken by doubt,
02:48temptation,
02:49or hardship.
02:51But when built upon Christ,
02:56our lives stand firm
02:58through every storm.
03:00The Apostle Paul and other biblical writers remind us that
03:07the believer's stability is found not
03:10in human wisdom,
03:13but in the eternal truth
03:16of God's word.
03:19So, let us look at seven biblical pillars
03:25that make up
03:27a strong,
03:30lasting foundation
03:32of faith.
03:36And
03:37in number one,
03:40man's foundation
03:41is shaky.
03:43According to
03:45Job,
03:47chapter number four,
03:48verses 18
03:49through 20.
03:51It says,
03:54If he put
03:55no trust
03:56in his servants,
03:58if he charges
03:59his angels
04:00with error,
04:02how much more
04:03those who dwell
04:05in houses of clay,
04:08whose foundation
04:09is
04:10the dust
04:11who are
04:12crushed
04:13before a mouth,
04:15so the first pillar
04:18of
04:19understanding
04:21is recognizing
04:22that man's foundation
04:24by nature
04:26is weak.
04:29Human strength,
04:31wisdom,
04:32and effort
04:33cannot sustain
04:35eternal life.
04:38Job
04:39reminds us
04:40that even
04:41angels
04:42were not
04:44beyond
04:45God's
04:46correction.
04:49How much
04:50more fragile
04:50is mankind
04:51made
04:53from dust?
04:55When people
04:57build their lives
04:58on wealth,
05:00fame,
05:01or self-confidence,
05:03they construct
05:04on shifting
05:05sand.
05:07Every
05:08human-made
05:10foundation
05:11eventually
05:12collapses
05:12without
05:13God.
05:15Recognizing
05:16our weakness
05:17helps us
05:19turn toward
05:20the true
05:21source
05:21of strength
05:22who is
05:24Jesus
05:26Christ.
05:29Number
05:29two,
05:31God's
05:32foundation
05:33is secure.
05:34according to
05:382 Timothy
05:39chapter number
05:40two,
05:40verse number
05:4119,
05:43it says,
05:44nevertheless,
05:46the solid
05:47foundation
05:48of God
05:49stands
05:50having
05:52this seal,
05:53the Lord
05:54knows those
05:55who are
05:55his.
05:58So people
05:58of God,
06:00unlike the
06:01uncertainty
06:02of human
06:03foundations,
06:05God's
06:05foundation
06:06is unchanging
06:07and eternal.
06:10His truth
06:11does not
06:12waver
06:12with culture,
06:14time,
06:15or circumstance.
06:17It stands
06:18firm,
06:19sealed
06:20with his
06:20divine
06:21assurance.
06:23He knows
06:24his children.
06:27This
06:27gives
06:28believers
06:28confidence
06:29amid
06:30life
06:32storms
06:33which are
06:34not
06:34standing
06:35on
06:35opinions
06:37or
06:37traditions
06:38but on
06:39the
06:40unbreakable
06:41promises
06:42of God.
06:44When
06:44our hearts
06:45are anchored
06:46in his
06:47word,
06:48we can
06:48face
06:49trials
06:50knowing
06:51that our
06:52footing
06:53will not
06:54fail.
06:56Number
06:57three,
06:58Christ
07:01is the
07:03rock
07:03foundation.
07:06Romans
07:0715
07:08verse
07:08number
07:0820
07:09it
07:10says,
07:11and so
07:12I have
07:13made it
07:14my aim
07:15to preach
07:16the
07:17gospel
07:18not
07:20where
07:20Christ
07:21was
07:21named
07:22lest
07:22I
07:23should
07:23build
07:23on
07:24another
07:25man's
07:25foundation.
07:26Jesus
07:29Christ
07:30is the
07:31chief
07:32cornerstone
07:33and the
07:34rock
07:34upon
07:35which
07:35all
07:36believers
07:36must
07:37build
07:37every
07:39other
07:39foundation
07:40whether
07:41philosophy,
07:43religion,
07:44or personal
07:45ambition
07:46will
07:48eventually
07:49crumble.
07:51When
07:51Paul
07:52preached,
07:53he
07:53emphasized
07:54that
07:55Christ
07:55alone
07:56is the
07:57base
07:57of
07:58salvation.
08:00To
08:00build
08:00on
08:01Christ
08:02means
08:02to
08:02rest
08:03your
08:03faith
08:04completely
08:05in
08:06his
08:06finished
08:07work
08:07on
08:08the
08:08cross.
08:10A
08:10life
08:10built
08:11on
08:12the
08:12rock
08:13may
08:13be
08:13tested
08:14but
08:15it
08:15will
08:16never
08:16fall.

08:22building
08:22faith
08:23at
08:24a
08:24cost.
08:26Let

08:52foundation

08:54it

08:57All
08:58who
08:58see

09:03strong
09:03foundation
09:04requires
09:05sacrifice.
09:07Jesus
09:07reminds
09:08us
09:08that
09:08following
09:09him
09:11involves
09:13counting
09:14the
09:14cost,
09:16building
09:17on the
09:17rock
09:17demands,
09:19obedience,
09:21patience,
09:22and the
09:22willingness
09:23to forsake
09:24worldly
09:25pleasures.
09:28Just
09:28as
09:29construction
09:30requires
09:31planning,
09:32time,
09:33and effort,
09:35so does
09:35discipleship.
09:37Yet
09:38the reward
09:39of a
09:39well-built
09:40spiritual
09:41life
09:42far
09:43outweighs
09:44the cost.
09:46Those
09:47who commit
09:48fully to
09:49Christ
09:49will
09:50never
09:50regret
09:51the
09:52investment.
09:54Number
09:55five,
09:58a strong
09:58foundation
09:59establishes
10:01faith.
10:03Colossians
10:042,
10:04verses
10:046 and
10:057
10:05says,
10:07as you
10:08therefore
10:08have
10:10received
10:11Christ
10:12Jesus
10:13the
10:13Lord,
10:14so walk
10:16in
10:17him
10:17rooted
10:19and
10:20built
10:20up
10:21in
10:21him
10:21and
10:22established
10:23in
10:23the
10:23faith
10:24as
10:25you
10:25have
10:25been
10:26taught
10:26abounding
10:28in it
10:28with
10:29thanksgiving.
10:31People
10:32of God,
10:32let me
10:33say this,
10:34that a
10:35solid
10:35foundation
10:36produces
10:37spiritual
10:39stability
10:40when
10:41we
10:42are
10:42rooted
10:42and
10:43grounded
10:43in
10:44Christ
10:45we
10:46become
10:46immovable
10:48in
10:48our
10:49faith.
10:50We
10:50grow
10:51stronger
10:52through
10:52prayer,
10:54the
10:54word,
10:55and
10:55obedience.
10:57The
10:58believer
10:58who
10:59builds
10:59upon
11:00Christ
11:01grows
11:02like a
11:03tree
11:03with
11:04deep
11:05roots,
11:07able
11:07to
11:08withstand
11:08storms
11:09without
11:10being
11:10uprooted.
11:12Gratitude
11:13and
11:14steadfastness
11:15flow
11:16naturally
11:17from a
11:18life built
11:19upon a
11:20strong
11:20unshakable
11:22base.
11:25Number
11:26six,
11:29the
11:30foundation
11:31determines
11:33the
11:35whole
11:35structure
11:36psalm
11:4011
11:40verse
11:40number
11:41three
11:41give us
11:42a
11:42question.
11:44If the
11:44foundations
11:45are
11:45destroyed,
11:46what can
11:48the
11:48righteous
11:48do?
11:50This
11:50verse
11:51strikes
11:51a
11:52serious
11:52note.
11:54If the
11:54foundation
11:55is weak
11:56or
11:57compromised,
11:59the
12:00entire
12:00structure
12:01fails.
12:04The
12:04same
12:04is true
12:05for our
12:05spiritual
12:06lives.
12:08If our
12:08foundation
12:09in Christ
12:10is
12:10neglected,
12:12if
12:13prayer,
12:14worship,
12:15and the
12:15word are
12:16replaced by
12:17routine
12:18or
12:19compromise,
12:21then
12:21spiritual
12:22collapse
12:23follows.
12:26Our
12:26personal
12:27integrity,
12:28family life,
12:30and ministries
12:31depend on
12:33the strength
12:33of our
12:34foundation.
12:37The
12:37psalmist
12:37calls
12:39believers
12:39to God
12:40and maintain
12:41their
12:42spiritual
12:43base
12:44with
12:45diligence
12:46for
12:47everything
12:48else
12:48depends
12:49on it.
12:52Number
12:53seven,
12:55only
12:56Jesus
12:56is the
12:58true
12:59foundation.
13:00first
13:03Corinthians
13:03chapter
13:04number
13:04three,
13:05verses
13:06nine
13:06through
13:07eleven.
13:10For
13:10no
13:11other
13:11foundation
13:12can
13:13any
13:13one
13:14lay
13:15than
13:15that
13:16which
13:16is
13:16laid,

13:18Jesus
13:19Christ.
13:22That

13:23Corinthians

13:27Every
13:27builder
13:28must
13:28choose

13:29begin.
13:31Paul
13:32makes
13:32it
13:32clear.
13:34There
13:34is
13:35only
13:35one
13:36true
13:36foundation
13:37and
13:39his
13:39name
13:39is
13:40Jesus
13:40Christ.
13:42All
13:43other
13:43ground
13:44is
13:44sinking
13:44sand.
13:47We
13:47are
13:48co-laborers
13:49with
13:49God
13:50constructing
13:51our
13:51lives
13:52upon
13:53his
13:53son.
13:55To
13:55build
13:55on
13:56Jesus
13:56means
13:57aligning
13:58every
13:59decision,
14:01purpose,
14:02and action
14:03with
14:03his
14:03word.
14:05This
14:05foundation
14:06guarantees
14:07eternal
14:09security
14:10because it
14:12is built
14:12on
14:13divine
14:14perfection,
14:17not
14:17human
14:17strength.
14:18in my
14:21final
14:22conclusion,
14:24I would
14:24like to
14:25say
14:25this.
14:27The
14:28seven
14:29pillars
14:30of a
14:31strong
14:32foundation
14:33remind us
14:34that the
14:35stability
14:36in life
14:37and faith
14:38begins
14:39and ends
14:40with
14:41Jesus
14:41Christ.
14:43Man's
14:44foundation
14:44is fragile,
14:45but God's
14:47is
14:49eternal.
14:50Building
14:51on the
14:51rock
14:52requires
14:52sacrifice,
14:54yet
14:54yields
14:54peace,
14:56strength,
14:57and
14:57endurance
14:57that no
14:59storm
14:59can
15:00destroy.
15:02As
15:02believers,
15:03we are
15:04called to
15:05inspect
15:05our
15:06spiritual
15:07foundation
15:08daily,
15:10ensuring
15:10it is
15:11built
15:11not on
15:13shifting
15:13emotions,
15:14but on
15:15the
15:15solid
15:16truth
15:16of
15:16God's
15:17word,
15:18when
15:18life's
15:19winds
15:20blow,
15:21those
15:22who have
15:22built
15:23upon
15:23Christ
15:24will
15:24not
15:25be
15:25moved.
15:27So
15:28let us
15:28commit
15:29to
15:32strengthening
15:33our
15:33spiritual
15:34foundation
15:35today,
15:37standing
15:37firm
15:38upon
15:38the
15:38unshakable
15:39rock,
15:41Jesus
15:42Christ,
15:43our
15:44Lord
15:44and
15:45Savior.
15:47This is
15:48the
15:48conclusion
15:49of
15:49pillars
15:50of a
15:51strong
15:52foundation.
15:55This
15:55is the
15:57life-changing
15:58word
15:59of God

16:02people
16:02of God.
