00:00What's up everybody?
00:01My name's Trey and welcome back to another video and in this video we'll actually be
00:06breaking down what is daily motion because if you don't know before YouTube ruled the
00:15world there was another video platform that released almost at the exact same time and
00:22that's daily motion.
00:23There are some similarities, there are some differences, there are some pros, there are
00:26some cons so there's a lot of stuff that we're actually going to cover in this video so make
00:29sure you stay to the end because there's a lot of good information that I want to give
00:32to you today but if you are somebody that's new to the channel make sure you hit the subscribe
00:35button and notification bell to be notified every time I post a video and leave a comment
00:39in the comment section down below.
00:40Have you ever heard of daily motion before because before I started posting on it I had
00:45no idea that it was so cool to be completely honest with you but to start off what is daily
00:53motion.
00:54Well daily motion is a video platform very similar to YouTube that started in 2005 in France believe
01:03it or not.
01:04This is a video sharing platform in which you upload, you watch, and you interact with different
01:10videos posted by different creators on their platform.
01:13Now daily motion is more geared towards a professional type of content creation method.
01:19Where this is more geared towards news, sports, tech, entertainment like music, it's not necessarily
01:26your everyday vlog type of content as they want it to be more of a professional platform
01:31and it looks like the videos are more of a production level quality on daily motion compared to other
01:38social media sites like YouTube, Rumble, or even like Facebook for instance.
01:42Now how exactly does daily motion work?
01:45Well what you're going to do is you're going to sign up, you're going to upload, and then
01:50you're going to put in a few tags very similar to YouTube in which you can upload videos that
01:55are two gigs long or 60 minutes is the maximum amount of time that you can upload an actual
02:01video on daily motion.
02:03It also supports 4K resolutions.
02:06It's basically the early stages of YouTube.
02:09There isn't a lot of pressure when it comes to the algorithm.
02:11There aren't a ton of different tags that you can pick from.
02:14There's only a handful and basically daily motion takes care of the rest when it comes
02:18to distributing that information to people on their platform that they think are really
02:22going to vibe with it, watch it, and really like it.
02:24Now how exactly does the monetization work on daily motion?
02:29Well once you join the daily motion partnership program and you get approved you'll be able
02:35to earn ads on pre-roll, mid-roll, banner, and display ads on all the videos that you post
02:41on the platform as long as they are within the community guidelines and they're not explicit
02:46content that goes against everything that daily motion wants to see on their platform.
02:51So you can basically get paid out a revenue share very similar to YouTube's AdSense in
02:57the fact that you don't have to do anything extra.
03:00You simply upload your video.
03:01If it is able to be monetized, if people want to put ads on your video, they will pay the
03:07platform to actually do that and then you will get a percentage of that money.
03:10And how actual payout thresholds work on daily motion is you have to hit $100 to actually
03:15be paid out and they do that to your PayPal or your bank account.
03:18So the threshold is not very high in terms of how much money you need to make on the platform
03:22and it makes it pretty easy to get paid out because basically everybody has PayPal and
03:26hopefully you have a bank account or else like what are you worried about getting paid
03:29out for if you don't even have a place to put it, right?
03:32So in my opinion, daily motion is a really cool platform to kind of diversify your income.
03:36If you're somebody that's already posting on other social media sites like YouTube and
03:40Facebook and TikTok and you're like, hey, I would love to be able to upload this exact
03:45same piece of content to a different platform, start growing an audience on a different platform
03:50and monetize it.
03:51I think daily motion is a no brainer place to continue to repurpose your content, to grow
03:57your income, grow your audience and just grow your overall awareness when it comes to your
04:01brand or you personally.
04:03I think it is a really cool opportunity for people to get onto a different platform and
04:07really see if their content is good in other places because you might notice on daily motion
04:12you get far more views on your videos than you do with YouTube.
04:15It doesn't happen very often.
04:17It probably won't happen just because of the amount of people that are on YouTube, but there
04:21is a possibility and well, you don't know if you don't try.
04:25Now some of the cool features about daily motion is you have 4K playback.
04:29You are able to embed those videos anywhere you can put on your blog, you can put on your
04:33website, you can put it in different forms and you will still get paid for the ad revenue
04:36that it is generate regardless of where you actually put that video at.
04:40There are no major copyright strikes similar to YouTube in terms of it's very difficult
04:46to get videos taken down unless they're very explicit.
04:48Daily motion does its best to keep users on the platform as long as your content is good
04:52and it doesn't go against any of their terms or conditions of services.
04:56They want to make sure that they are showing your video to as many people as humanly possible
05:00because you have to understand that these video platforms make money the more people
05:05watch your video.
05:07So they really do their best to show your video to absolutely anybody that might be interested
05:11because you're how they make money.
05:13So they want you to succeed just as much as they want to succeed.
05:16So for kind of looking at daily motion versus YouTube as like a direct comparison.
05:22So they were founded in the same year when it comes to monthly users, YouTube has far
05:27more monthly users as it's not even close.
05:30Daily motion monthly users was reported about 300 million where YouTube's was over 2.5 billion.
05:37So when it comes of size of the platform, obviously YouTube is the giant when it comes to this
05:42industry when it comes to just video sharing platforms, YouTube will probably always be the
05:46king of that.
05:47But daily motion is a very cool alternative, like I said it is a little bit smaller.
05:51It really focuses on a simple algorithmic approach when it comes to uploading content.
05:57There's none of this super complex algorithm of I need to jump on trends or I need to only
06:03post these specific hashtags in this order for it to get views.
06:07Daily motion makes it as simple as possible and they really take care of the algorithm
06:10for you.
06:11Like I said, because they want you to succeed.
06:12So they're going to do their best to show it to people that actually want to view it.
06:16Now, why are users still using daily motion, especially because it's probably not something
06:22that if you've even heard about, but like, why are people using that platform when they
06:25could just use YouTube, which is so much larger?
06:28It's just one easy way to diversify your income.
06:30If you're already making money from YouTube and other sites, why not post that same video
06:34on daily motion and get paid for it?
06:36Because it really allows you to streamline your content posting without adding too much
06:43work.
06:44You're not having to make another video specifically for daily motion.
06:46You're just uploading your same content that you would on YouTube or on Facebook or on
06:50TikTok to daily motion in order to get more eyes on your actual content.
06:54Now, daily motion can also be used as like a backup platform.
06:57So if you have all your eggs in YouTube and one day YouTube decides to demonetize your
07:01channel and completely kick you off the platform, at least if you have a daily motion that's
07:06kind of built up and it is producing income, then you're not solely reliant on your YouTube
07:10income.
07:11And if that does go down, at least you have other places you can pivot your attention
07:16to while you're trying to figure out what exactly happened to your YouTube channel, why
07:19it's demonetized and things of that nature.
07:21Now, what are some of the cons and maybe some of the drawbacks when it actually comes to
07:25daily motion as a whole?
07:26Well, number one and probably the most obvious, it is a much smaller audience than YouTube as you're
07:31not even seeing half of the monthly users that YouTube is.
07:34However, those users are very engaged on the platform.
07:38But if you're somebody who's really looking to scale and you're trying to pick one specific
07:42platform to really put all your time and effort into, I wouldn't say daily motion is necessarily
07:47that platform for you.
07:49Now they have a very basic algorithm in terms of they're going to do its best to put your
07:53video in front of people who actually want to watch it.
07:56But that makes it extremely hard to actually go viral on the platform as I have not even
08:03seen what I would consider to be a viral video compared to TikTok or Instagram or YouTube
08:07on daily motion.
08:08You can see a decent amount of views on a specific video, but I definitely don't see
08:13the hundreds, if not millions of views on daily motion videos just because they just
08:18don't have that much monthly users or anything like that.
08:21Also, another con or at least one that I really felt, it seems like the interface of daily
08:27motion is pretty dated.
08:28Like daily motion almost to a T makes me feel like, oh, this was YouTube before it figured
08:34out all the clunks, all of the algorithm things, all of the features that make people want to
08:41come back over and over again.
08:43Because it's just a such a simple platform that I feel like for the majority of us that
08:49we're used to having all these bells and whistles and in filters and different searching options
08:54and Chrome extensions that connect to your YouTube channel to find different videos, you
08:58simply don't have that ability with daily motion.
09:01But with all of that being said, should you use daily motion?
09:06Well, in my opinion, I don't see why you wouldn't.
09:09If you are already making content on social media, if you're posting it on YouTube, TikTok,
09:13Facebook, Instagram, why are you not posting your content on every single social media site
09:19that allows you to post content on it?
09:21Not only that, but will also pay you for the content that you are posting on the platform.
09:26Sure, YouTube still dominate the video sharing space, but there are definitely some alternatives
09:33that I think could be really interesting for you to post content on in order to diversify
09:39not only your income, but also your audience.
09:41You want to make sure that you're building an empire across multiple platforms, not just
09:45one, because worst case scenario, that one platform goes down or demonetizes your content,
09:50and then you're stuck with building it all up from scratch, which we all know is extremely
09:55difficult.
09:55But if you're already posting content, why not repurpose that content on daily motion?
10:00You can also use it as just a backup platform to make sure that your videos are in a safe space.
10:05You can always get to them.
10:06You can always redownload them.
10:07You always have them just in case, worst case scenario, you lose the ability to get to
10:11those videos on YouTube or your camera or your thumb drive or on your computer.
10:17Just another way to backup content.
10:19And I would say 1,000% you should be posting your content on daily motion as it definitely
10:24helps, like I said, just to diversify your income and your audience.
10:29So overall, I would say daily motion isn't dead.
10:31It's just different.
10:33It's a very different feel.
10:34It's a very simplistic feel if you are somebody that goes into a lot of your analytics and
10:39the different tags and the different times you can post and things of that nature on
10:43YouTube.
10:43Daily motion is just a very simple platform.
10:45You post.
10:46It kind of handles the algorithm.
10:48There are different videos that you can watch that are of pretty high quality because they
10:52really do push professional content on daily motion in terms of just like production
10:57quality.
10:58And I would say if you're somebody that's really interested in like long-term content
11:03creator income or freedom, you have to be diversing yourself across pretty much every
11:10platform that allows you to not only post on it, but also get monetized from it.
11:15You never want to put all your eggs in one basket.
11:18And daily motion is definitely an alternative to YouTube that I think a lot of people could
11:23use to increase their income, find new audiences that they had no idea or really love their
11:27content.
11:28And just as a backup plan, worst case scenario, you want to make sure that you have something
11:32to fall back on if you get kicked off a different platform or demonetized.
11:36So I really hope you learned something new in this video as we basically went over everything
11:40in terms of what is daily motion and why I think you should be posting to it as it is
11:45an absolutely slept on video sharing platform.
11:49But if you are somebody that's new to the channel, make sure you hit the subscribe button
11:51and notification bell to get notified every time I post a video.
11:53And leave a comment in the comment section down below if you are on daily motion.
11:57If so, we'd love to know because so far I've not met a single person in real life who's
12:02used daily motion.
12:03So I'm interested to see if you've actually used it.
12:05And just like that, I will see you in the next one.
12:06Peace.
12:21Peace.
12:22Peace.
12:23Peace.
12:36Peace.
12:36Peace.
12:36Peace.
