00:04the shutdown drags on.

00:06And U.S. President Donald Trump has announced mass government firings, seemingly to punish Democrats.

00:12How many layoffs have you authorized for this first round, and from which agencies?

00:16And it will be Democrat-oriented, because we figure, you know, they started this thing,

00:20so they should be Democrat-oriented. It'll be a lot.

00:23Though spread out over multiple sectors, the 4,000-plus layoffs will be greatest

00:31The move has received sharp criticism from Democrats, namely Chuck Schumer,

00:37Let's be blunt. Nobody's forcing Trump and Vot to do this.

00:41They don't have to do it. They want to. They're callously choosing to hurt people.
