When Seth Klarman stretched for a yearling filly by Nyquist at the 2021 Keeneland September Sale, he paid $460,000, which trainer Chad Brown said was, "at the top end of what he goes for for yearlings." That filly, Randomized, went on to earn four times that amount on the track and now figures to be one of the star attractions at the November 3 Fasig-Tipton Night of the Stars when she sells as hip 137 in the EliTE consignment.

00:00Randomize is really a trainer's dream in how consistent she is. She was one of our top picks
00:20at the sale. As you can see from her purchase price, she's an excellent physical. She really
00:25looked like a high quality prospect. Early on when she came in as a two-year-old, she showed
00:30plenty of speed and natural ability and we quite liked her right off the bat.
00:35When we evaluate stallions that continue to be on the rise and continue to shine, Nyquist
00:41certainly has to be in that category, not only as a stallion but also as potential influence
00:46as a broodmare sire. Multiple grade one winner by a tremendous stallion in Nyquist, demonstrated
00:52speed, demonstrated endurance, demonstrated consistency, demonstrated soundness. Those
00:59are all the attributes that any breeder would be looking for and I think that the opportunities
01:03for a buyer of her are unlimited. Uncle Mo's leading son at stud thus far, we all know what
01:09kind of influence Uncle Mo's had as a broodmare sire and there's every reason to think that
01:14those same trends and traits would continue on. She's got so much natural speed, we just
01:20tried to get out of her way and once we figured out early on that that's what she wanted to
01:23do, we let her do her thing. Randomized greatest moment would be Alabama for her medium, unassuming
01:31thatcher. Her overall ability to be able to carry her speed over a large range of distance
01:37and such a prestigious race to win the Alabama for not only for a racehorse but for a future
01:42broodmare. For randomized, it's her coming out party in the Alabama. She comes back as a four-year-old
01:49and wins another very impressive and a very prestigious race in the Ogden Phipps at Saratoga
01:54and wins another greatest stake as a five-year-old with the Molly Pitcher. I feel her most important
02:00qualities that will make her a very good broodmare are her natural speed. I think the physical
02:06attributes, how strong, deep, sturdy, big boned, all around just a really durable, well-made
02:14horse. I'd say Randomized is the perfect match to breed her with classic distance stallions.
02:21I can see Randomized appealing really internationally, you know, any of the top American breeders to
02:27anyone else in the world. Anyone who wants to have that dream about breeding a classic horse,
02:33a Derby contender, Breeders' Cup Classic contender, a Dubai World Cup contender, a Saudi Cup contender,
02:39you're looking at, you know, mile and eight to mile and a quarter dirt races where you'd like to have
02:44some speed. To find very fast broodmares that ran exclusively on the dirt is, at a high level,
02:53is a rare find and I think she's going to be a very rare piece in somebody's broodmare collection.
