00:00And Nysos is a superstar, drawing clear with authority to win the Hillandale Metropolitan Handicap.
00:14I am actually from Tolono, Illinois, and that's in central Illinois.
00:19Every little girl's dream, I think, is, you know, what do you want for Christmas?
00:23What do you want for your birthday?
00:25It was always a horse.
00:27I met my husband at a teenage dance.
00:30When we became adults, we went to the Kentucky Derby.
00:34I thought I'd died and gone to heaven, to tell you the truth.
00:38Anyway, would you believe in the following week, we were having lunch with D. Wayne Lucas.
00:44Sometimes you don't know how big something is until you look back on it.
00:48And I look back on it now, and I know how big it really, really was.
00:53The day that we purchased Cosfarm, D. Wayne Lucas was our trainer, and he came up to my husband, and
01:01he said,
01:02Clint, I got this filly for you, and I really think it's something that Susie would really like her.
01:07She's not very big, but she's got a lot of spirit.
01:11Her mom was unbridled Elaine.
01:14So we bred her the next year, and she had a really bad dystocia.
01:19And of course, she was at the clinic for at least two weeks, and then when she came home, she
01:25was under constant care.
01:27We got her back to health, and then she delivered a little filly by the name of Zetta Z.
01:34And she had a couple of little offsprings, and they were always darling little ones, and then I think she
01:41had five in all for me before Nysos.
01:45And at that time, I had made the decision to sell my farm, and I knew that I didn't have
01:52very much time before I was going to be 80.
01:55And I knew that I wanted to make my exit the way I wanted it.
02:01Nysos, he was our last one to be born on the farm, and then he was sold as a weanling.
02:07I always thought there was still more left.
02:10I didn't know where it was.
02:12Wait a minute, half-tie, $130,000.
02:13Your dreams are always there, you know, so Nysos hit.
02:18Nysos in the Bob Hope wins with style.
02:22Looking good.
02:23But that Breeders' Cup, I tell you, that was something.
02:26They had the official win there because it was so close.
02:32But it didn't look close at all to me.
02:34I knew that Nysos won.
02:36I mean, he was running against Forever Young.
02:40And goodness, I mean, he's raced to get some good horses, that's for sure.
02:45It means the world to me.
02:46I mean, it really actually does.
02:49To think that I was able to do that, that's incredible.
02:54I have to say, my husband was so good to me.
02:58But he always did say, Susie, you can do whatever you want to do.
03:03There was never any question about what I was doing because he says, I know you're going to do the
03:08right thing.
03:09I was very blessed.
03:12Still in.
03:14When I think about that opportunity and what Nysos can do, I mean, I don't even want to put it
03:21out into the world yet.
03:23But he's going to do good.
03:24He's going to do good.
03:24He's going to do good.
03:26He's going to do good.
03:28He's going to do good.
03:29He's going to do good.
03:29He's going to do good.
03:29He's going to do good.
