00:00Let's look at the grade two Franklin, and Scott, just to kind of start the conversation,
00:04there's a really cool horse on the outside here, Future Is Now, who has won seven of
00:09her last nine with a second and a third.
00:11She is just really cool.
00:13We're going to get to her in a minute.
00:14We'll start with pondering from the inside.
00:17She was facing a little too tough last time out, Scott, and I don't know if six and a
00:21half furlongs is the distance she likes.
00:23I respect her races in June, July, and August.
00:25I just think this is kind of a tougher spot down on the inside, but she could come at
00:30least running late, maybe for a minor award.
00:33She needs a hot pace against this group.
00:34I don't necessarily think she's going to get it, and she doesn't break well.
00:38Being down on the inside, she's likely to have to come from last to first.
00:41Time to Dazzle is a horse who I'm a little concerned about at this shorter distance.
00:45I think she's a little bit better between six furlongs and a mile, probably six and a
00:50half and a mile.
00:51We're watching Time to Dazzle finish second behind one of her rivals in this very race
00:56in our time, so I'm just a little bit worried that Time to Dazzle will have another effort
01:02like this, Scott, late on the scene for maybe a minor award at best.
01:06Yeah, her last win was at a mile when she was loose on the lead, maybe underneath, but
01:11too short.
01:12We move to Lady Crush.
01:14She's a half to a horse named Twirling Point, who's a multiple stakes winner sprinting on
01:18the turf, but what Lady Crush has done so far, Scott, is just not really in the class
01:22with the rest of this group.
01:23She would have to step up big time to be competitive here.
01:26Yeah, Travis Murphy, an out-of-town trainer, bringing two in here, this one and that one,
01:31what we'll talk about in a moment, look very much up against it.
01:34One Happy Mama is an Iowa bred who has some speed.
01:36She's a sprinter who's won a stakes race on the dirt, but she only has one turf race, and
01:42she was well behind Pondering in that race, and we're not even sure Pondering stacks up well
01:46with this group.
01:47Right.
01:47She did battle in that race while Pondering, maybe took advantage of a setup, but another
01:51one that the morning line, 30-1, tells you what you need to know.
01:54I think if you're looking to take a shot against Future Is Now, this next filly is one of the
01:59horses that would make sense, and that's Pipsy.
02:01Pipsy won the Intercontinental a few starts back, which was a great two.
02:05She beat Future Is Now that day.
02:07Following that, she was in the caress.
02:09She was wide.
02:10She was behind.
02:11She just didn't really get the trip she wanted that day, and then she faced the boys at Kentucky
02:15Downs in the turf sprint.
02:17She didn't really run poorly.
02:18She was behind horses like Howard Wolowitz, who's a grade one winner.
02:21Kadeem came right back to win a grade two following that, so I think she was facing some
02:26pretty tough company.
02:27I could see her sitting a nice trip, maybe second or third, just off the leaders in here,
02:31Scott.
02:31She feels like one of the alternatives if you're trying to beat Future Is Now.
02:35Well, trying to beat Will Walden this year has not been wise.
02:38Over 100 starts and positive ROI, continues to win big races.
02:43She'll need it her way.
02:44I'm a little concerned trawling in the middle of the field.
02:46She won't have it unless she breaks really sharp.
02:49What could be tough for her, Scott, is that right to her outside in our time is really
02:53quick.
02:53She's a stakes winner and graded stakes place going long on the turf, but she got the
02:57lead going six and a half at Kentucky Downs and kept going last time out, but she's just
03:02another one I'm worried about at this trip.
03:04I don't know if she's quite as quick as these five and a half furlong fillies, and I think
03:08she's more of that six, six and a half to a mile type.
03:11Yeah, she's going to be sent aggressively by Louie Saez.
03:14That's what this horse does, and that's what he does, but I think going as fast as she's
03:17going to need to is going to take her toll.
03:19I think it's too sharp at five and a half.
03:21And this middle of the field could be flying, Scott, as you were pointing out, because right
03:25next door in our time is Luna Luska.
03:28She's a perfect three for three on the turf.
03:30She's one from five furlongs up to six, but she is really, really fast, and she's been
03:35one-dimensional so far.
03:37We've not seen her come from off the pace, so I mean, if the five, if the six, if the
03:41seven, they're all pushing it.
03:43If the four is pushing it, too, we could have three or four horses lining up in the middle
03:47of this field.
03:48There's almost no way this filly, unless she doesn't break well, is on the lead or a part
03:52of the pace, right?
03:53You got Kendrick.
03:54She's never done anything else.
03:55I don't see why she's in this race if she's not going to be sent.
03:58The question is how many rivals will be up there with her.
04:01Cartgirl Sam is honest.
04:03She's been in the money in eight of nine, but this is just a step up in class for her.
04:08That's the problem.
04:09I respect what she's done overall, but this is another step up.
04:12Yeah, the races at Churchill, second-level allowance are better than the ones she comes
04:16out of, probably, but even those, this is a step up from that.
04:20She should get a good trip from the outside, and Ben Curtis has pulled some upsets and great
04:24stakes this year.
04:25God, I wanted to leave us a little bit of time to talk about Futurist now because she's just
04:28so cool.
04:29Like, as gamblers, this is the, these are the types of short price horses that you're
04:33supposed to try to beat, and you're supposed to try to poke holes in, but anything that
04:37you would try to poke a hole in doesn't really work with this filly.
04:40Her last nine races, seven wins, a second and a third, four graded stakes wins.
04:45She has speed, but she can sit off a little bit.
04:48She loves Keeneland.
04:49She loves this trip, and if you just look at her speed figures, they're just remarkably
04:54consistent.
04:55She almost runs, like, the same race over and over all the things that I try to use
04:59as a gambler to beat horses like this.
05:01I can't really find many things to beat her, Scotty.
05:04Yeah, I have no interest in beating her.
05:06That outside post, I had to add to what you're talking about, her consistency.
05:10She's going to be able to sit out there.
05:11She's got enough speed to stay close.
05:13I don't think Futurist now is getting beat in this race.
