00:00countries around the world social and human rights organizations are welcoming the agreement
00:15between the resistant movement hamas and israel for a ceasefire and peace in the gasa strip
00:23through a statement the bolivarian government of venezuela formally requested an urgent meeting of
00:29the united nations security council given the serious escalation of aggressions and
00:33unprecedented military deployment by the united states in the caribbean
00:37and the world food program issued a dramatic alert to the international community about the
00:46imminent risk of famine in haiti hello and welcome to from the south my name is belen de los santos
00:54and from the tesoro studios in havana cuba we'll begin with the news
00:58and we begin with the information precisely in the gas strip because regardless of the recent
01:23ceasefire announcement israeli occupation forces continue to attack the palestinian people
01:29reportedly three citizens were killed and several others were injured by israeli strikes across
01:35hangunas in the southern gaza strip moreover medical sources reported that 17 palestinians
01:40were confirmed dead in hospitals across the gaza strip since the early hours of thursday
01:46as israel's bombardment continued in this context palestinian authorities have urged the population
01:52to be cautious when moving around and called on them to remain alert until the suspension
01:58of military operations is confirmed to avoid further deaths and injuries
02:04and in this context palestinians in the occupied west bank also welcomed the ceasefire agreement
02:13while remaining cautious over israel's next steps
02:17god willing this agreement will be completed first and foremost to serve the interests of the
02:25people of gaza and the palestinian people enough killing enough destruction enough displacement god
02:30willing it will be implemented but based on what we've seen throughout history we know that the
02:35israelis neither keep promises nor commitments and we fear that they might break the agreement
02:39after they retrieved their prisoners either way no matter the agreement it is better than the
02:47ongoing bloodshed whatever its terms it is still the best available option the most important thing
02:53now is to stop this bloodshed god willing the signing today will lead to positive outcomes
02:58and precisely in this context countries around the world as we were saying social and human rights
03:06organizations as well are welcoming this agreement between the resistant movement hamas and israel
03:11for a ceasefire and hopefully lasting peace in the gaza strip after three days of negotiations in
03:17egypt israel and hamas agreed to sign and implement a peace plan for the gaza strip an agreement
03:23reach through the mediation of egypt qatar turkia and the united states in this regard palestinian
03:30president mahmoud abbas expressed his hope for a political and permanent solution to end the
03:36israeli occupation and establish a palestinian state a meeting to discuss the approval of the
03:42ceasefire deal is ongoing at the israeli security cabinet
03:46and president recep Tayyip Erdogan said that turkia will participate in a task force to oversee the
03:58implementation of the ceasefire deal after yesterday's agreement thank god the signatures
04:10were made today we are very pleased with the agreement to which we actively contributed from
04:15the very beginning we as turkey will hopefully also take part in the task force that will monitor the
04:25implementation of the agreement on the ground we will support reconstruction activities together
04:33with the international community to help gaza rise again our goal is to stop the genocide and bring
04:41peace to the region as soon as possible meanwhile in brazil social organizations mobilized to denounce
04:50the complicity of large corporations in the genocide taking place in the gaza strip during a day of
04:56protest in sao paulo did the solidarity movement for the palestinian cause gathered in front of the
05:02headquarters of folio de sao paulo one of the city's most important newspapers to question the media
05:09coverage of the genocide in the scenario activists condemned the complicity of the media in the
05:14historical process of the colonization and denounced how large transnational corporations benefit from
05:22genocidal actions the demonstration also paid tribute to journalists killed in gaza by israeli attacks
05:28meanwhile on thursday the cuban people also mobilized to condemn the massacre that the sionist israeli
05:39government has been carrying out against palestine for over two years the popular mobilization took
05:45place at the jose marty anti-imperialist tribune with the presence of the first secretary of the central
05:51committee of the communist party and president of the republic miguel diaz canel bermudas and other members of the
05:58political bureau at the gathering palestinian students denounced the genocide and ethnic cleansing
06:04strategy perpetrated by israeli occupation forces throughout gaza in the scenario cubans demanded
06:10compliance with international agreements on the right of palestinians to have their own state and
06:16the implementation of actions that would bring lasting peace to the middle east
06:20precisely in this regard during the solidarity event in havana the young palestinian woman razan malek
06:31shared her hope that the world would also understand the meaning of sacrifice and the struggle for
06:37freedom of the palestinian people i remember one day when soldiers surrounded my grandmother's house
06:51the entire neighborhood was covered with guns pointed at our house looking for my uncle
07:00when my grandmother saw what was happening she came out and without fear in the midst of
07:05all those soldiers she shouted with pride with tears and with strength long live free palestine
07:14long live my five heroic sons my revolutionary sons since then i have understood what sacrifice
07:22courage and love for the land mean
07:26i have learned that there are people willing to lose everything even their freedom to defend what is right
07:32my grandmother's words still echo in my ears
07:39and also in cuba women and men from the island and 12 other countries
07:44gathered in the mariana neighborhood in havana to express their strong solidarity
07:48with the palestinian people we were there to share the story
07:54international solidarity and ongoing resistance those were the key elements that gave life to this festival
08:01music poetry arts and crafts brought together a number of cuban organizations all ready to
08:06express their continuous support to the palestinian cause as october marks two years of genocide
08:12in gaza at the hands of israel and the complicity of many western powers
08:17it is a question of humanity of knowing right from wrong and knowing what stands to take
08:27a radical stands in favor of the end of death and also of murder
08:37i think there is a sensibility in young cubans that's genetic thanks to this revolution and its
08:43internationalism that comes out in the face of injustice and pain of this magnitude coming from
08:49the genocide that the state of israel is committing against the palestinian people
08:58internationalist activists from 13 countries took part in the event
09:03an idea comes up time and time again that a wound as deep as the one inflicted against the palestinians
09:09affects us all can be felt by all and demands global action to continue fighting for the future of
09:15humanity first community is what gives us power and it also is what nourishes us in hard times
09:22and so we're looking at two years of a genocide we're looking at a lot of destruction
09:26and a lot of pain and so coming together from across the world in community with food with song
09:32with art we really realize that there are people around the world who care about this
09:36who are standing up for this and who are not going to let the genocide go um go happening as it has
09:42been without fighting back here solidarity takes different forms from the collective of women who
09:49have decided to shape their heads to raise awareness to the joint reading of poetry that carries the pain
09:54and resilience of gaza halfway across the world yesan is a palestinian doctor trained in cuba and he takes
10:02the mic to thank the warm embrace of everyone present once again cuba chose in practice the
10:10revolutionary character its revolutionary principles cuba has always been for justice close to the
10:20palestinian cause and from here we need to always raise our voices multiply our actions in favor of peace
10:29and the sovereignty of our people the words of cuban silvio rodriguez and argentine marielena walsh
10:39fill the air in songs that speak of hope and the importance of ongoing fighting against oppression
10:45around the world in their voices latin america joins gaza and its struggle for a free palestine
