00:30Ellie, tell us where we are right now.

00:35When I ran out of money, I was sleeping on the bench in Central Park.

00:53I was born in Israel.

00:55My parents went back to Iran.

00:57Well, I don't remember a lot because I was very young.

01:01I do remember that they lived in tent or metal sheet housing.

01:08No electricity, no running water.

01:11And I remember the other kids used to make jokes out of me

01:15because my clothes were dirty and wrinkled.

01:27Because I had a free ticket, I stayed one night.

01:32I had $60 and I stayed at YMCA and I refused to go back home.

01:45I lost my bottle and they stayed at YMCA too, so I went out to work with Jack Mitchell.
