00:00Hey gang, Brennan Lee Mulligan here, back to recap everything that happened in the first
00:0310 episodes of Cloudward Ho! In episode one, we opened our season in Gath, a world of progress
00:12and peril, where invention and wonder are at their peak. That same dirigible created by the one,
00:18the only, Professor Comfrey MacLeod! We flashback 20 years before the start of our season,
00:24where we met the legendary crew of the Zephyr in 1363, at the height of the Windrider's
00:30Society. In present-day Gath, we meet Maxwell Gotch, grandson of the legendary Cad Switch
00:36Gotch, who bankrolled the flight of the Zephyr and many others of Professor Comfrey MacLeod's
00:41Windrider adventures. You look and see something that everyone else in your family has missed,
00:49because unlike your grandfather, they are not true believers. How will you fool?
00:56Hoping to find the professor who has recently gone missing, Maxwell and Professor MacLeod's
01:00granddaughter, Olethra MacLeod, gather the old crew! Dice K. Bucklesby, who's known now as the
01:07Pappy of Pilby, Maria Yankova, who now runs a toy shop in Scrapsylvania, Fenelope Chapman,
01:14the retired Bosin, now running a pub in the Uplands, and Montgomery La Montgomery, now a famous author
01:21campaigning against the Queen's smog. She found it, and she's stuck there. Accompanied by Maxwell's
01:29brother, Wheelwell, and Van's husband, Bert, the gang prepares to take to the sky, only to find their
01:35mission blocked by the nefarious Lord Kensington Cosgrove Murdershire, the Queen's Minister of
01:41Deranged Science. I'll thank you for the return of that vessel! We spend all of episode two battling
01:48it out against Murdershire and his Ithangeistian brutes, and Olethra finds some items her grandmother
01:54had hidden on the original Zephyr. Wow! What? Including a set of old keys and a sextant with mysterious
02:02directions inscribed on them. Triumphant, the new crew of the Zephyr One starts off episode three
02:08by heading to McLeod's lab in the South Pole to repair their ship and stock up on supplies.
02:13I bring it all into the mech. Yep, okay, well you have that, and that's in your mech, that's fine.
02:18At the South Pole, they discover a number of clues, including a mysterious sliding tile
02:22that seems to come from an unknown land, hidden by a door that Maria unlocks with the keys found on
02:29the Zephyr. Entranced by the tile, Maria jumps through a wormhole-like entrance, grabbing the
02:33tile and springing back to a waiting gotch in the nick of time, just as Murdershire catches up to the
02:38Zephyr at the South Pole. Torpedoes are shooting at us! Clues and supplies collected, the gang flees
02:44towards the coordinates Comfrey had left for them on the Zephyr, and flies into the effulgent
02:49bi-angle, coming out on the other side in the fabled land of Zood! The bi-angle opens in front of you,
02:57and as it does, light from the tile, light in front of you, light surrounding you, the wasps pull
03:05away, the ships of the CIR cannot follow! Blinding! At the top of episode four, our heroes explore the
03:11legendary world of Zood, and they make their way to Tabira City, a mobile desert outpost that is home
03:17to people and creatures of all cultures. The crew meets a friendly noodle vendor, a monkey with human
03:22intelligence who warns the crew about a Zoodian mushroom with spores that induce body swaps, and a
03:27gaffian alchemist with a bird-like creature on his shoulder. They discover more about Zood as a
03:31whole, and investigate for clues about where Comfrey McLeod might be. Their investigations
03:36take them through Tabira, and when they investigate the gaffian alchemist with the bird, he splits his
03:41forehead in half, dealing psychic damage to those present, and disappears, leaving Olethra, Monty, and
03:46Pappy dazed and injured, standing in an empty alley with a symbol of a hand painted on the wall in
03:52blood. The symbol reveals him to be an agent of the Eyeless Hand, a dangerous and mysterious faction
03:58in Zood that Professor McLeod had warned them about in her radio message. We were discovered,
04:02by the island, agents of the Eyeless Hand. If you can hear this, Olethra, it's real.
04:09In episode five, while investigating this mysterious gaffian individual and looking to resupply,
04:14the gang discovers the local economy runs on the listing wall, a wall where everyone lists their needs
04:19and contributes to the needs of the community as ability allows. Max and Van discover a listing
04:24for fighters, and in their excitement, sign themselves up, only to discover they've signed
04:27up to fight a dinosaur. And number three, a brachiosaurus!
04:37On the way to the fighting ring, the crew stops at a bookstore, discovering more information on the
04:41strange and fantastical land of Zood, a bit of knowledge on Tabira City itself, and a ballad about
04:46the mechanical crow that haunts Maria, which she refers to as Straka. Max and Van square off against
04:54a brachiosaurus, as well as two other fighters, and despite a tough fight, they come out victorious,
04:59with the help of the rest of their crew. Olethra knocks down the stacked teacups of a birthday
05:03boy in the crowd, Pappy goes on a quest for a leaf, ultimately donning a disguise consisting of
05:08little more than a bald cap, and Monty bonds with the dinosaur. Reveling in their victory, the crew goes
05:13to the house of an old crew member from the original Zephyr I, Haunch Saxon, only to find him
05:18dead. Upon a brief investigation, the gang discovers that he must have been murdered by the
05:21eyeless hand. Using his survivalist instincts, Monty realizes it was none other than Kensington
05:27Cosgrove Murdershire who did it. We start episode six with a bang. After finding their old crewmate
05:33dead, the gang decides the only thing to do is to light his apartment on fire and hot exit from Tabira City.
05:38A late Molotov cocktail hits the bed. Everyone's running. They lose two of the Gotsch company crew,
05:44Agrawal and Norwich, who have found their own adventures in Zood.
05:47I'm joining the Crystal Gliders. I'm seizing my destiny.
05:53Wait, why are the credits rolling? Why are the credits rolling?
05:57The gang chases Comfrey's clues to the Sal 2, a very dense forest area near the Romansu power station.
06:03They hear a broadcast from the power station where Comfrey talks about having to leave quickly
06:07because the house of Fuhuyar was hot on her tail.
06:10But before they can find the power station,
06:12our crew runs into the Legio Rex,
06:15the lost legion of Treshan soldiers,
06:18who have become dinosaurs.
06:20After an evening of drinking with the Legio Rex,
06:22things take a turn when the crew discovers
06:23that the Legio has trapped a baby T-Rex
06:26and intends to use the same mushrooms
06:28that trap their army as dinosaurs
06:29to force the baby to body swap with their emperor,
06:32giving him a young, healthy new body.
06:34They convince the Legio Rex
06:35to bring them to the Romanzu power station
06:38and find a clue from Comfrey
06:39that allows them to sprint away from the Legio Rex.
06:41On high we go.
06:42Stealing the baby T-Rex in the hopes of saving him.
06:45We begin episode seven in the midst of combat
06:47against the Legio Rex in the Romanzu temple.
06:49After using the crystals in the Romanzu power station
06:51to direct radiant light across the station,
06:54the gang is able to radiate the body swapping mushrooms
06:56to be harmless, overpowering the Legio
06:58with the help of some dormant crystal mechs
07:00that reside within the power station.
07:02Combat finish and our Windriders triumphant once again,
07:04the crew explores the power station,
07:06searching for any clues to Comfrey's whereabouts.
07:08They find an old office and some work of Comfrey's,
07:11an old automaton kneeling in the center of the room.
07:14As Maria surges forward to fix the man,
07:16entranced, Van's arm moves of its own accord,
07:19hoisting Maria into the air by her throat.
07:22In episode eight, Van regains control of her arm.
07:25Maria regains control of her mind
07:26and the crew has a number of heart-to-heart conversations
07:29about the things they've experienced in the years
07:31since their golden years.
07:32Maria opens up about her protege, Ludmilla,
07:35who was captaining the ship when Straka appeared
07:37and was lost with the others.
07:39Before Maria could sacrifice herself,
07:41driving the ship into the heart of Straka,
07:43Comfrey appeared out of nowhere
07:45and threw her out of the way,
07:46driving them to safety, much to Maria's chagrin.
07:49Van opens up about losing her arm
07:51on a voyage with Comfrey
07:52and the mechanical arm that Comfrey built for her after.
07:55Monty admits that he and Comfrey left on bad terms
07:58after having harsh words about the projects Comfrey was taking on.
08:02Daisuke left because he was starting to feel
08:03too tied down with Comfrey,
08:05but left with regrets and still full of love for McLeod.
08:08Had been keeping an eye on Olethra ever since.
08:10I was only 61 years old.
08:12Yeah, yeah, that's a young age to ask to be tied down.
08:20Yeah.
08:20Yeah.
08:21The gang discovers evidence of a struggle
08:22between the house of Fahuya and Comfrey and her crew,
08:25and one of the mechs informs them
08:26that they've captured one of the members of the house of Fahuya.
08:29The gang meets Freya,
08:31a junior banker at the house of Fahuya.
08:33She wasn't supposed to attend the raid,
08:35but snuck on anyway
08:35and then got captured and abandoned by the bank.
08:38Freya explains the evidence of fighting all around them.
08:40Comfrey scammed the bank
08:41and the house of Fahuya came to collect collateral.
08:44We destroy all of the retail banks.
08:48Like a cool banker.
08:50Wow.
08:51In exploring the offices in Rumansu,
08:53the crew discovers the offices of Onion St. Clay and Comfrey MacLeod.
08:57There is a wealth of clues within the offices.
08:59A map of the world of Zood reveals that instead of being on a sphere,
09:02Zood is a helix intertwined with Cern,
09:05a desolate and dry land of ruin.
09:07The gang also finds correspondence between the Queen of Cern and the Eyeless Hand,
09:11as well as notes that point the crew towards the mysterious Temple of Couture.
09:15And a hint that Monty knows the way
09:17leads the group to realize they'll have to take back the loot that the bank took
09:20in order to solve the puzzle and find the temple.
09:23Just says you know the way.
09:25To where?
09:25I've no idea.
09:28I'm not the bloody note, am I?
09:30They cautiously revive the mechanical man who tells them his name is Tors,
09:35and he is a rebel from Cern.
09:36He was working for Comfrey,
09:38who he says went from Rumansu to the Ectic Research Station
09:41in order to find Couture herself.
09:43In episode 9, the gang returns to the Zephyr One with a baby T-Rex in tow
09:47and heads to the swirling sea in pursuit of the House of Fuhu-Yar.
09:50They are arrested by the legendary pirate Captain Goldbeard Explosio
09:54and his clockwork crew,
09:56though after a tense moment between Daisuke and Goldbeard,
09:59due to a betrayal between them years ago,
10:01Goldbeard stands down.
10:03Goldbeard informs the crew that he was romantically entangled with Comfrey
10:05for three weeks before she disappeared with her crew
10:08and proclaims her to be his great love,
10:10much to Daisuke's discomfort.
10:11Very well then,
10:14because if there's a man Jack here
10:16who's going to stand in between me and the love of my life,
10:22who kissed me, count them, seven times.
10:27Wow.
10:27Any under-the-shirt action or just over-the-shirt?
10:30I have a barrel for a chest, so...
10:32Yeah.
10:34Goldbeard passes along a love letter he found in Comfrey's Things,
10:37and the Zephyr One restocks with help from Goldbeard's crew,
10:40finding a golden engine in the piles of junk,
10:43some new guns for the ship's battle stations,
10:45and Captain Goldbeard even bestows some intel
10:47on how the House of Fuhuyar operates to Monty and Pappy.
10:51With the crew of the Zephyr as prepared as they can be
10:53for the might of the House of Fuhuyar,
10:55Monty lays a trap, pretending to be alone and scared,
10:58and really in need of a bathroom.
10:59I have to pee, I have to be eaten, come free, find me.
11:05In episode 10, battle commences between the famed House of Fuhuyar
11:09and the crew of the Zephyr One.
11:11Our heroes begin to hit their stride in battle,
11:13Maxwell coming into his own as a brawler,
11:14and Ban using the mysterious properties of her gauntlet
11:21to save the Zephyr.
11:22A gore-covered briefcase,
11:25smoke, ruin, and eldritch horror writhing on the balloon over you.
11:29Oh yes, that's right.
11:29Don't worry about it.
11:30After a tough battle in which the gang topples
11:32the vice president of acquisitions
11:34and plummets the branch of the bank into the ocean,
11:36the crew managed to escape Victorious
11:37with the stolen briefcase that held the needed code
11:40to find the ectic research station.
11:41And that's all for our recap.
11:43Thanks for watching, and as always,
11:45see you in the skies.
11:47Cloudward home!
