00:00Hello, one and all!
00:01Welcome to our final episode of Adventuring Party!
00:05We're gonna mention 20 power ho!
00:07Legally, this episode can only be 10 minutes long.
00:09We promise, for legal reasons,
00:11it cannot be a minute over that.
00:12Sam's doing the worm, he wants company.
00:14He wants company.
00:15He's been doing the worm this whole time,
00:16going, guys, where is everyone?
00:17This episode had everything.
00:19Yeah, right off the bat,
00:20the fact that you were Santa the whole time.
00:22And it really did not hit me
00:24until literally it was like,
00:26there's just a beat in the epilogue.
00:28Yeah, we've timed this perfectly.
00:32This will be coming out in Christmas of 2023.
00:35We are going to be...
00:36In 2023, yeah.
00:37Yeah, I believe that's why this is coming.
00:39Well, time travel's real now, so...
00:40Time travel's real now!
00:42I know we did our first bit of time travel.
00:45Oh, Maria, saving Ludmilla.
00:49That was, so, right off the bat,
00:52roses to, I mean, both Emily and Allie,
00:55I was like, that was such a beautiful thing
00:57of going back and I was like,
00:59oh, we're going to see this thing
00:59where Maria sacrifices herself and everything.
01:02And I also love the fact that Allie's just like,
01:04fuck that trope, I'm jumping in.
01:05I know, I know.
01:06That was so satisfying.
01:08It was a burden of my expectations.
01:10I wasn't like, I'm trying to die.
01:11No, I know.
01:12I just was like, okay, I'm at peace.
01:13You had zero hit points.
01:14You got to do what you got to do.
01:15I'm at peace.
01:15I was like, I did the thing and I came here to do.
01:17Yeah, I think if Lumilla hadn't come back to our plane,
01:22if it had just been both of you completely gone,
01:24I would have felt more satisfied,
01:25but now I was kind of like,
01:26no, Maria can't switch places and be destroyed
01:30while she is brought back to our life.
01:33Like, I was just like, no!
01:36But I did not, I definitely didn't take into account
01:39that it was a 30 tinkering roll.
01:42I absolutely missed that.
01:44I absolutely missed that.
01:45My bad.
01:46Because you grabbed Lumilla,
01:48so part of me was, I mean, I said as much to Daisuke.
01:50I was like, Lumilla's the whole reason we came here.
01:52We can't.
01:53Totally.
01:53She just went through the portal.
01:56I drop her off and I grab you.
01:59It was great how it was.
02:01Toss her back in.
02:02It'll run back.
02:03It was great how it was.
02:05What were we doing?
02:06How are these falling into?
02:07Like grandmother, like granddaughter.
02:10This is not, this is N.A.
02:14Here, pass me the jug.
02:15I don't want to try De Sirona for the first time.
02:17N.A.
02:18Well, you have to.
02:19You want it like double A?
02:20Yeah, we're doing it.
02:21I just like don't know.
02:22Yeah, you don't have to.
02:23There it is.
02:24It smells just like almond egg tracts.
02:27Oh, it's like, it's almond cherry Slurpee.
02:30Wait a second, so it's not, it's sweet?
02:34Like pork?
02:35I kind of like it.
02:38Cheers.
02:38So that and Pazooki's and Aeoli is what your crew has been chowing down on.
02:43Guys, what a fucking phenomenal season.
02:45Hell yeah.
02:46Hell yeah.
02:46It was great.
02:47I loved that ending.
02:49Yeah, that was awesome.
02:50It was great.
02:50I was like, with all the fails, I was like, damn.
02:55Is this going to be our first like bittersweet ending?
02:57I was like, we can't have you all be lost in the pool.
03:01Totally.
03:01That would be too sad.
03:02Although you could have, you could be like, they're lost in time and what would happen?
03:06I think I had it in my pocket that I was like, maybe Brennan will let me, if I can shove Van into the mech suit, maybe Brennan will let me vortex warp them back into the thing.
03:18No, I did, I wanted it to be, I think especially when you're getting very timey-wimey with it and there's a lot of shit going on and you're basically going like, okay, this is a moment where incredible brilliance can be rewarded, but also, you know, you're doing stuff that is next to impossible.
03:36So I'm setting the highest possible DC, yada, yada.
03:39It also feels nice in that moment when, when you're really departing from the game as written, I like to, you want to surrender some of that, like, hey, do you feel like you would push yourself to the point where you're endangering your life?
03:52And you go, yes.
03:53And it becomes more of a, the rules are still the rules, but there's a negotiation because you're so far outside the main drag of the rules that you're like, this is a little bit of story authority you're putting in a player's camp.
04:04To go like, okay, I'm willing to risk this.
04:07It's like, this is the wager I'm making.
04:11And for, and, and it was, it was very, but like, in a way, it's like, Comfrey, we spent so much of the season with Comfrey as like almost a villain in some ways, like, and then at the end it was like, okay, we understand it, but man, you played fast and loose and all this stuff that it really did feel like it was, it was so sad and heartbreaking to not get the, like, no, we all get it.
04:34It was, because Comfrey's philosophy was like, we'll do it harder and better and faster and everything will be perfect.
04:40And it was very sweet in some ways that she was the only one that had to say goodbye at the end.
04:48I also, for, for Mario, it was like, I, like, completely, like, broke her to have McCloud save her instead of Ludmilla.
04:57And then Olethra made the call that, like, Mario wished McCloud had made.
05:02Yes.
05:03You know, it's like, she, if, if, like, Ludmilla was to Mario what Mario was to McCloud, Olethra saved Ludmilla in that situation.
05:11We're going to save the kid.
05:12I'm going to save the future.
05:13Right?
05:13Yeah, yeah, yeah, totally.
05:15Yeah, I think it was definitely super sad to be like, oh, there isn't an ending to this season that's like, and now we really get to meet Comfrey and kind of, like, work out all of our stuff.
05:27Because obviously we all came around on her towards the end.
05:30Like, we were like, she's great.
05:32So it was like a deep loss.
05:34Yeah.
05:34But I do think that was, like, equivalent, you know, like, the, it just.
05:38Yeah, that's kind of how it works.
05:39I think there is, like, a very, like, beautiful thing in that, like, Comfrey is in the whole season in that, stop, I'm just Lou.
05:49It feels illegal to have this next to Santa Claus.
05:55But I think there is, like, what sort of videos do you like?
05:59You just gave a teenager that.
06:01Thumbnail.
06:02Thumbnail.
06:03Thumbnail.
06:04Thumbnail.
06:06Thumbnail.
06:06Thumbnail.
06:06Thumbnail.
06:07Oh, what, you don't think Santa gets kinky?
06:10Merry Christmas indeed.
06:12Merry Christmas.
06:12Wait, what's on the two pages?
06:14There's so much.
06:15I wrote two and a half chapters of Montgomery La Montgomery, the Zootian Chronicles.
06:21My real hope was to get through, like, the new character intros, but I could only write max.
06:26And then I got tired and had to work on other things.
06:30And I couldn't write a fake children's book from the perspective of a fictional character.
06:35Do you have a chapter that you're most proud of?
06:37Because I can read it real quick.
06:38I'll read the first chapter.
06:39Okay.
06:39Okay.
06:41The bosun awoke, drenched in sweat, despite the cool breeze cruising through the nearby window.
06:47Sharp, shallow breaths struggled to fill her lungs to any satisfying degree.
06:51The legendary Van Chapman sprang to her feet and blindly groped in the dark for parchment and pen.
06:56She had to write the things in her mind down, the gurglings from the deep, wet words expressed through saline-laden layers of water,
07:04yet the meaning so excruciatingly clear.
07:07She had to remember it.
07:09And even more, she thought, I have to tell Maria.
07:11The next morning, Van paced back and forth in the waiting area of the Upland's Eastern League telegraphy station,
07:19attempting to distract herself by examining some of the finer fixtures on the prosthesis that had replaced her left arm.
07:27Crafted by the inventor and her former captain, Comfrey McLeod, Van still understood little of the instrument's origin.
07:32She trusted Comfrey and her genius, and the instrument had yet to be anything but useful.
07:36She looked over the dials and gauges, some she understood from her years in the bowels of airships,
07:42and most of its strange shapes and symbols were lost on her.
07:47Van's contemplation was eventually interrupted by the Eastern League clerk's announcement
07:51that her three messages had been relayed without issue.
07:54As Van returned to the Rusty Nut, the pirate dive bar of which she was the proprietor,
07:59the words of her message were played in her head.
08:05Urgent. I need help. Meet at the Rusty Nut. The path to Zood is open.
08:10Wow. That's awesome.
08:13And then there's two and a half more chapters.
08:16And the big thing was, or the thing that I found funny was that the Max is introduced as a silent character
08:23who does not speak and wears like a, yeah, the Max, and is known as the Max.
08:32Can we talk about this?
08:34Oh, you sons of bitches.
08:36Was this just to fuck with us all season?
08:37Did we ruin the chance for it to mean something more?
08:40So the art team, the art, the members of the art team that made them are credited on the back of the, um...
08:45Oh, your mom.
08:46Your mom.
08:46Your mom.
08:47So I guess your mom made it, so I guess ask her.
08:49Okay.
08:49You gave us a bunch of buttons.
08:52For 20 episodes, we sat here.
08:56Flicking.
08:56I think, I really feel like they did it on purpose.
08:59Do you want to know, do you want to know actually what it was for?
09:02If you guys had stayed attacking Straka, I was going to, uh, I was going to have a move
09:09where Straka did a damage based on how often you had clicked the buttons.
09:14Do you have those numbers?
09:16So many times.
09:18I don't think I've ever clicked it.
09:20You guys couldn't keep up with how often.
09:22I must have hit it 57,000 times.
09:24I think it's a number that humans can't comprehend.
09:26There's a real number?
09:27I think we could have...
09:28Three?
09:29Now, the count might not be perfect, but the count is 3,740 damage.
09:34Now, you said the count might not be perfect, which makes me think you just said a number.
09:41Naughty, naughty.
09:42You've got to ask your mom.
09:43I don't know.
09:44I don't know if we have time to even get into this, but, like, there was a moment when it was, like,
09:50you know, the campaign kind of shifted.
09:52Yeah.
09:53I'm curious if there was anything you can say about that.
09:56Oh, yeah.
09:56Oh, God.
09:57It's maybe too big of a conversation for this moment.
10:00Yeah, oh, when you guys won in the Temple of Couture.
10:03Yeah, you were supposed to...
10:05Comfrey was supposed to come save you.
10:07And then was, like, supposed to...
10:08So Tad Squawgwell was going to get out and then Comfrey went over on.
10:12And Zurn was going to start attacking immediately.
10:14So Zurn's attacking.
10:15It was all going to be shot to head.
10:17It was going to all be different.
10:19Everything was going to be different.
10:21It was all going to be different.
10:21We have to stop right now, right?
10:24Yeah.
10:24Okay.
10:25Wait, can I ask one last question?
10:26One last question.
10:27Was it ever your intention that we go to Zurn?
10:29Yes.
10:30Okay.
10:30I wanted you to go to Zurn.
10:31Ew, there's Santa beard hair.
10:33I'm fucking gay from this.
10:36That's...
10:37No!
10:37Folks, this has been the season where Zurn.
10:40No!
10:41Merry Christmas.
10:41It looks like it's...
10:42No!
10:43It looks like it's...
10:44There are so many...
10:45It's never...
10:45You're going to need to take a limb roller to that.
10:47Stop, Zurn.
10:48We didn't even get to talk about Hatwell putting his head through the...
10:52Sorry you didn't get your presents.
10:52In a...
10:55In a...
10:56With a dildo.
10:59Battle map.
