00:00I think people are really worried about the rising cost of taxation because it affects people's job prospects, it affects business opportunities.
00:08Since Labour brought in this huge amount of tax rises, £40 billion of tax rises over the last year, you've seen business confidence drop.
00:17It was plus five according to the Institute of Directors in July last year. Today it is minus 74.
00:23That's the biggest drop on record, the lowest reading on record, and that affects real people's lives.
00:29Because we've seen a reduction in the number of jobs in our economy of 150,000 jobs.
00:35That affects people's job prospects, what they earn, young people getting into the workplace.
00:40That affects real people's lives in real ways.
00:44So that's the consequence of not managing the economy properly.
00:48What we'll see today, proper conservative policies about running the economy, making sure we control public spending, reduce taxation and reduce debt.
