00:00This time on Outback Truckers. Getting all sorts of different reports about the
00:05road. The road's pretty crooked places. When you come out here, basically throw the clock out the window.
00:10Ah, shit. We've got a five-minute loader in front of us,
00:15driving through dust, and that's where Axe did the sample. Shit.
00:23The boat is... Expensive. About 3.5 mil.
00:28That looks like it was the worst of it.
00:32Your trucks both closed the road down here. Shit.
00:35Go to me a little bit, Jack. Dickheads put in their trailers. Really shits them all.
00:44Places for us to pass are really limited.
00:50Righto, mate. I'll be into it. Shit. There's a hole there.
00:58We've got a fire up here by the look of it, and I'm a bit concerned with where that fire is.
01:13It's not that far off the road. There's got a bit of ferocity to it.
01:21You don't want to end up on a fire, and then you've got nowhere to turn around.
01:26You're stuck there. Consequences are deadly.
01:29Yeah.
01:35Now, this road goes around the south-east, so, yeah, we're going to clear it.
01:40It's quite a release.
01:44Rex Riles is racing the clock on a mission to get through Australia's desolate red centre for a critical deadline.
01:51Yeah, I've got a few people wanting to know where I am and when I'm getting back.
01:56He has just two days to complete more than 1,500 demanding outback kilometres
02:02to get back to his hometown for the biggest event of the year, the Laverton Cup.
02:08500 metres to run in the second for the Laverton Cup.
02:11We've got to get the track cleaned up and get the water on the track
02:16to make sure that we've got an optimal running surface.
02:22These Laverton Races are pretty important for the community.
02:25Imperative I get back on time.
02:30Getting close to Alice Springs now. It's going over the James Orr overpass.
02:36We've picked up some tippers we've ordered a while back,
02:40and we've taken them down to Laverton.
02:43Starting in Darwin, Rex has already travelled almost 1,500 kilometres to Alice Springs.
02:51Now he's heading west towards Uluru and the notoriously rough dirt of the Great Central Road
02:57to get home to Laverton, where he'll use his brand new tipper trailers, worth $150,000 each,
03:05for his cartridge business.
03:06It has its highs and lows. It's like any business.
03:10Yeah, a lot of pressures. We've got fuel costs and wages.
03:20Well, right down here at the Lasseners Highway, head out past Ayres Rock.
03:24And we've got now Connor on our left-hand side.
03:34Well, I've been out in the bush, and I enjoy driving the big girl.
03:40Rex's big girl is a rare Texas-built Marmon truck on its third engine.
03:46A 550-horsepower, 15.6-litre diesel.
03:51The Marmon. It's a 1995 truck, and it does nearly 2 million k's.
04:01Just about coming into Curtin Springs now.
04:04Get some fuel and park up.
04:06Have a cold beer.
04:07Righto, let's do it.
04:18A bit of corrugation's here.
04:31As you can see, you're driving it too fast.
04:33It does a lot of damage.
04:34We start breaking the failures.
04:37Trying to read the road, trying to dodge it really bad in the spots.
04:41You limit the amount of damage you do.
04:43That's the trick.
04:44It takes you a bit more time to get from point A to point B.
04:48Just do it all day today, and then day tomorrow,
04:50and then we're going to try and be in a little bit by Friday,
04:54lunchtime day later.
04:56If I don't get back there in time, I'm going to be in the shit.
05:04I'm going to get out, have a wander around,
05:07and just see what things are doing.
05:10Hopefully everything's sitting all right.
05:13It's better.
05:20Wheel barrens are cold as.
05:22They're bloody just lukewarm.
05:29Come on.
05:33Bit of lube.
05:38Okay.
05:43Well, that's not going to help.
05:49That's not good.
05:53It's not good at all.
05:54I don't know what's happened here.
05:55The chain has broken the landing leg away from the strut.
06:02And this was propping the trailer up.
06:05So it's freewheeling.
06:06If it falls over, we'll take this trailer with it.
06:09All right, I'm about ready to get this show on the road, I think.
06:20This job is part of a serious set-up to keep some communities going through the wet season.
06:29What it is is an oversized fuel tank that's going into a little community called Ringer Soak out
06:34the back of Halls Creek.
06:35Legendary 73-year-old trucker Steve Graham has a massive oversized load to deliver to a remote
06:44community in the tropical northwest of Australia.
06:47These people, they ran low on fuel last year, you know, and they've got to keep fridges
06:53and freezers running like any other little town.
06:55This tank's got to get there and set them up for a wet season.
06:59Once the wet comes in properly, they're isolated.
07:01They need their 84,000 litres of diesel on the ground, keeping their gensets going.
07:06So we've got no choice.
07:07We've got to do the job now.
07:08The wet's coming.
07:09I'm headed for Ringer Soak out of Halls Creek.
07:19And to get to Ringer Soak, I've got to go out the Duncan Road.
07:23From his base in Perth, Steve will lug the tank almost 3,000 kilometres along the Great Northern Highway,
07:31turning off at Halls Creek onto the rugged dirt of the brutal Duncan Road,
07:36and then travelling another 160 kilometres to reach the tiny community of Ringer Soak.
07:45I've got to liaise with a 150-tonne capacity crane.
07:50There's two other communities, Balgo and Villaluna, have needed an upgrade on their fuel tanks.
07:56We have to meet with this crane at the end of the Tanamai Road.
08:00The crane is being used to install identical fuel tanks in two other remote communities.
08:06in the Tanamai Desert, just before Steve arrives.
08:10They come back out of the Tanamai Road, meet me and we go out the Duncan Road,
08:17the other way out the back of Halls Creek and unload me.
08:20So it's all got to go like clockwork, because that big crane costs big bucks.
08:265.5 southbound.
08:31Righto mate, thank you.
08:35We've got one five and a half metre oversize load coming down the hill.
08:40I'm 3.5 wide.
08:43The good news is I'll pass him on the three lane here and we won't have to get off the road for him.
08:48Now that is one big bulldover.
09:00Today is Supercise Saturday.
09:03They don't want the super-sized stuff to create chaos during the working week,
09:08when everyone's trying to make a dollar.
09:09I can hear a bit of radio chatter going on, it might be a super-sized load in front of me.
09:24See, I can't understand, this is why I'm not talking,
09:26I'm trying to work out what they're saying with that radio chatter.
09:29Communication's key, I guess.
09:32It must be northbound, travelling the same direction as me.
09:35I'll have a break mate.
09:40They're big.
09:48They're really wide, they must be nine metres I reckon.
09:52With me being a little bit oversized and them being a giant bit oversized,
09:56the places for us to pass are really limited.
10:00I couldn't be stuck behind them for 100 kilometres.
10:05I couldn't be stuck behind them.
10:11What are they doing?
10:17Righto mate, sorry, glad to understand you.
10:19I'm into it and I'm quick.
10:25It's gonna be tight.
10:26Shit, there's a hole there.
10:41We'll get a better idea once we pull up to back in.
10:54Yeah.
10:54Then we'll have a bit of time.
10:55If we do need to move them, we'll be able to pick it up.
10:57Sweet.
10:59House hauler Jack McRae is about to set sail on a high-stakes job with a difference.
11:05The boat is custom-built here.
11:08It's about 3.5 mil for this one.
11:10It's about 15 ton, 8.5 metres wide, 16 long.
11:16This is the Cure 55 catamaran.
11:19Once we get down the other end, as long as these guys can do the trip safely and not hit anything,
11:24then we'll be away.
11:26House is easier.
11:28Boats look a lot more stressful.
11:30Difference between a $40,000 house and a multi-million-dollar boat.
11:34Tap a guidepost or something, you know, scratch the shit out of it.
11:38This means I've got to be a bit more careful.
11:42Tonight, 11.30, we'll be here, get the police and pilots in,
11:46go for all that paperwork, then we'll take off down to Brisbane.
11:49From the manufacturers in Coulomb Beach,
11:52Jack must weave the $3.5 million boat through narrow streets to the M1,
11:58then push on down the highway, avoiding low bridges and guardrails,
12:02before squeezing it through tight city streets to unload on the Brisbane River.
12:08The super-sized load requires a police escort, paid by the hour.
12:13Any delays will cost Jack's company money.
12:16So, yeah, it's not a cheap exercise.
12:18Keep coming, Corey.
12:22I've got Corey in the truck at the moment, so I'm on the phone with him.
12:26And then we'll just keep jiggling it in like this, just so we don't damage anything.
12:32The trailer's fully hydraulic, so lowest we can go is 900 deck height up to 2.7.
12:38The $1.2 million lift trailer has independent steering on each axle and is also able to
12:45caterpillar using a hydraulic ram mounted on the truck.
12:50I've got my remote for my trailer and then the other remotes for the ram on the truck,
12:56so that's how we're jiggling it and knifing slowly.
12:59Ah, to spend a little bit of extra time, get it loaded properly, safely without doing anything, no damage.
13:07Right, right, Corey.
13:08Yeah, we're coming back.
13:09Yeah, nice and easy.
13:11Just keep pushing that front over.
13:15Nah, we're not going anywhere.
13:16.
13:17Just turn, just turn, has it got anything on the dash?
13:25Just rev the out of it.
13:31They don't go on the gear now.
13:37Nah, it's going again.
13:38Okay.
13:39Just shut it in way down.
13:42The truck's .
13:43It's not burning up here enough to put it into gear.
13:47With the autos, you need air for the gearbox.
13:49And with no air, we've got no gears, so I can't move.
13:58It's going to be tight.
14:04Shit, there's a hole there.
14:09.
14:17Thanks, fellas.
14:20Hello.
14:21They called me around.
14:23There's a big dip in the road.
14:25We've got to give each other space, but they're all talking about other stuff.
14:29And in a situation like that, you just want clear direction.
14:34Normally, it's a lot more professional than that.
14:40We've got this oversized fuel tank.
14:42It's going to a remote community out the back of Halls Creek.
14:46And I'm on a tight time schedule to link up with the crane.
14:51I've got the last tank for Inga soap, and I have to meet with that crane on time,
14:56or it costs big money and big embarrassment.
14:59But for me, it's stressful, but that's my job.
15:11I can hear on the wireless that there's two eight metres heading north.
15:14Yeah, 3.5 miles.
15:26As the day goes along, we will catch up with the ones that left early Saturday morning.
15:31With a bit of luck, these pilots will be a bit more clear to understand.
15:36That is a serious piece of machinery that's all going up there to cart iron ore, I suppose.
15:44Please, the company's a good day. We've got the aerosols, mate. Bring us down there, yeah?
15:47Roger, mate.
15:50Yeah, way you go, mate. Thanks for that.
15:53No one's running the box.
15:55What's the other one?
16:11Boxing will be the last.
16:14Thanks, gents.
16:19That's how it's done. Nice, clear communications.
16:23Everyone understands what's going on.
16:33Oh, shit.
16:34Yeah, mate. You're talking to the oversized with the tank on?
16:36Can we hear you drop this to the road train assembly area, mate?
16:40Yeah, righto, mate.
16:42Yeah, righto.
16:42Thanks, sir.
16:43That's the bloody scalies.
16:49That's main road's inspectors, and they've just asked me to pull into the road train area.
16:55So, to quote, they can inspect my permits, load, and truck, etc.
17:02I think all my stuff's in order, but it's nerve-wracking.
17:07You just never know.
17:10It's nerve-wracking.
17:10I'm sweating it now.
17:13So many times in my life, I've come out badly out of these things.
17:18No, that's not good.
17:28It's not good at all.
17:29What's happened is the chain has broken the landing leg away from the strut.
17:37So, it's freewheeling.
17:40So, what we're going to do, we're going to strap that to that to pull that back into where it should be.
17:46His landing leg, if it falls over, we'll take this trailer with it.
17:51Rex Riles is under the pump, hustling to get back to his hometown, Laverton,
17:56to prepare the horse racing track for their only race of the year.
18:01But although it's free to drive, the brutal Great Central Road is still taking its toll.
18:09I'm prepared if I get back on time.
18:12How are you?
18:15Nothing we can do to help you?
18:16Nah, I can knock this out pretty quick.
18:19See you later. Take care.
18:20You're all the best.
18:24People sort of look out for each other.
18:26If there's any problems, you're a long way out.
18:29You're pretty isolated.
18:31And a long way from a flying doctor also.
18:34Can you imagine a blind doctor trying to land on these roads?
18:37It's not going to happen.
18:38A bit of common courtesy out here goes a long way.
18:42And that's all part of the outback way.
18:46Well, that's cross-chain.
18:47It's back.
18:48That's coming this way.
18:49So, that's basically, it should not move.
18:53But we'll just keep an eye on it.
18:54Check it every hour.
19:05Back on the road.
19:06The trails seem to be travelling okay.
19:08Yeah, it seems pretty good.
19:15As you can see the transform WA sign there on the left, the outback way.
19:18We're now officially in WA.
19:21We're a long way from home yet.
19:28Just going to idle back here a bit.
19:30And we'll just roll in, nice and quiet.
19:33And make sure you're ready for tomorrow.
19:45It's around 5km to go to get home.
19:51Hopefully being there before 4 o'clock.
19:54Depends on the conditions of the road, of course.
19:56Getting all sorts of different reports about the road.
20:01The road's pretty crooked places.
20:06A massive amount of rains out here early in the year.
20:10And it's done a lot of damage.
20:13It gets worse as it goes further on.
20:15It's pretty rough up there.
20:16So, you know, it's a bit of a plan in your head.
20:19A bit of an idea what you're going to do.
20:20But everything out here is subject to change, minute by minute.
20:25When you come out here, basically throw the clock out the window.
20:30Oh, for sake.
20:34This limestone shit stuff.
20:36Ripping your tyres.
20:38Worried you're going to miss the labour and races.
20:42If something happened to me, it's not going to happen.
20:50Hey, yeah, we can't even move this f***ing truck now.
20:54I'll see you soon.
20:55Jack McRae is sweating on the delay caused by the breakdown of his truck.
21:00While under pressure to shift a $3.5 million catamaran.
21:06So I've got an air leak and it's dropping out of gear, so I can't move.
21:10Waiting for the mechanic who's close by.
21:12A lot of air lines under there, so it could just be a broken one, so I ain't got to pop it off.
21:29Why don't you be a mechanic?
21:34Oh, that's really...
21:42She's fixed, looks like it, so back around her, pick it up.
21:49Straighten up.
21:56Time to get off these cradles and into the water.
22:00Yeah, get rid of them now if you want.
22:02She's picked up now, that's where it's staying on the trailer.
22:06So we'll get rid of these cradles, pull it out so they can tie it down.
22:12This is the crucial fit, getting it out of the factory without any scratches or bumps.
22:18100mm each side to get out the doors.
22:21They definitely made them as big as they could.
22:23Step straight up, Corey.
22:26They're too tight.
22:28I mean, another two, Corey.
22:30Two straight forward, then turn it hard.
22:34Lift the whole trailer up, straight over these bollards here.
22:38Stupid place to put a bollard, tell you now.
22:42All right, nice and easy.
22:47Woo!
22:47Let's swap it over.
22:48She's out in one piece.
22:51Exciting, a bit tight.
22:54Got it out.
22:56Time begins tonight.
23:02Just getting ready to move this catamaran.
23:05It's the first time I've been back in a truck in about six years.
23:09So let's see if I remember what to do.
23:12Jack's co-driver for the journey is Ashley Mackay, part of the family that owns Mackay & Sons.
23:19I moved up north for the last six years.
23:21I've been driving coal trains.
23:23You can run from the family business, but you can't hide, so here I am.
23:28Ashley has been tasked with helping Jack by the company's boss, her brother Robbie.
23:33I don't know if you call her the helper.
23:36She's Robbie's sister, so she gets easy jobs and doesn't do much.
23:42Right, let's f***ing go.
23:47Don't brush me in any trees or nothing.
23:48She's going to be a slow run to the highway.
23:56I'm just trying to get rid of a sign there, so get through.
24:02Driving or not hit anything with the boat.
24:05It's a $3.5 million boat, so we don't want to brush a twig with it.
24:11There'd be a big tax deduction from Jack's pay, is what it would be.
24:16Hey, Corey, watch that tail swing on that sign there.
24:27Shit.
24:33Oh, for f***ing sake.
24:38It's choppy at the moment.
24:40Just tipped on the wrong ears.
24:42Trying to find the right speed, so you're not knocking the gear around.
24:45That's the hard part.
24:47I'm pulling up a bit here now just to try and reset what I'm doing.
24:53Rex Riles is racing the clock, desperate to get his valuable tipper trailers back home,
24:58with enough time to prepare the local race course for the Laverton company.
25:04Don't try and be in Laverton today, no later.
25:06There's a five-meter up there in front of you, mate.
25:13Oh, s***. We've got a five-meter loader in front of us.
25:17He's going pretty slow.
25:19Let's see if we can get some conversation going.
25:22Maybe we can get around him.
25:25There's a fair bit of it hanging out there.
25:27We've just got to keep talking to each other.
25:29Just communication is a key word here.
25:30All right. I'll start building her up a bit. I'll come past.
25:38We can go a little bit quicker than them.
25:44Yeah, righto, mate. Come around now.
25:45Yeah, just got to watch it through here.
25:51Try and avoid them blowouts and stuff like that.
26:02Everyone's happy. It's all done, honest and safe.
26:07We're past and I'm trying to keep the dust out of his face too if I can,
26:12so I'll just whip it back over here. The bin has changed again.
26:15Oh, that's a good one. Can I get around you?
26:23There is a trucker sitting behind me.
26:26All those fellas that are travelling west,
26:28you know, I'm going to pull over to the right outside the road.
26:30You're going to come around, you can't.
26:36I can leave over, take the dust with me,
26:38so they've got a clear light on the side and they come around.
26:42Nice habit.
26:45No worries, mate.
26:51Dust is a big issue.
26:52You drive through dust and that's where accidents happen.
26:56Oh, shit. There is a truck coming.
27:08That main road's inspectors just asked me to pull into the road train terminal up here,
27:13so they can inspect by permits, load, truck, etc.
27:20I'm sweating it now.
27:21So many times in my life I've come out badly out of these things.
27:27I'll just grab those permits, all right?
27:36Steve, are you aware that we now do this stuff on the iPad now, matey?
27:40All we do is I just feed you a thing to your email.
27:44And it comes up when you're phoned into there, mate.
27:46Righto. Well, it doesn't really, because I don't do emails.
27:49The missus does, but that's all right.
27:52What's our weight, you reckon?
27:53We would be running more than 22, would we?
27:55No, that's 15 tonne, that tank.
27:57Oh, that's fine.
27:58Oh, there you go. 508.
28:04What do you got? 51. There you go.
28:06Thank you, sir.
28:09This truck's had $200,000 spent on it in the last 12 months.
28:12Wouldn't it be cheaper if just you actually have retired and said, mate,
28:15we'll just sort of, you know, save the money, put it towards the old Steve's pension fund?
28:19Steady up on the retirement word, son.
28:23Brakes are all pretty reasonable and all that.
28:24The brakes are more than reasonable.
28:28Well, we spend money on them all the time.
28:30Well, that's a truck, isn't it?
28:32It's the money pit.
28:34How wide are we, Steve, mate?
28:35Exactly 3.5.
28:373.5 exactly.
28:38Spot the dot. 3.5.
28:39Don't do it.
28:41Honest?
28:42That's it.
28:42Love it.
28:45Look, if you want to go across the base, go across the base.
28:49Right there, Steve.
28:50There we go, Steve.
28:50Pull that there, boss.
28:52He doesn't like my eyes.
28:55Well, there you go, mate.
28:56It shrunk.
28:56The actual heat shrunk it.
28:583.35 for last you do us, buddy.
29:01You've done well.
29:02We'll give you actual cold star on your hair to say thanks for coming.
29:06Right there, fellas.
29:06Have a good day.
29:10I'm going to get moving now.
29:13We're back rolling again.
29:15Those blokes, they were decent blokes.
29:17They're doing their job, but I've lost an AI.
29:21That's 100k I've got to find tomorrow.
29:24Hampered by frustrating delays, Steve is at risk of missing his rendezvous with the crane needed to unload the 84,000 litre diesel tank he's delivering to a remote community.
29:37Being oversized, I can't make up time.
29:39I'll have to pull up shortly.
29:41Call it the end of day.
29:45We're coming up on Mungina Gorge, which is a big drop off.
29:48If it's getting close to dark, I've got to pull up and get off the road.
29:54That's the law.
30:02Yeah, I know, dog.
30:03And now I'm really pushing light.
30:06It's time to think about pulling up.
30:09I'll give Tony a call.
30:11I'm really keen to know how the boys have got on out there.
30:15Tony's the bloke with the other tanks and the crane.
30:19All going well.
30:20Tony would have been unloaded and the crane should be heading over to the second point,
30:25if everything's going all right with him.
30:30Yeah, Tony, got you.
30:32Oh, that's good, mate.
30:32That's good.
30:33Yeah, no, no, I'm all right.
30:36The dash fell out of it.
30:38You're joking.
30:41All right.
30:42I'll just have to stop at the corner and wait for Ranga and the crane to finish and get out.
30:47All right, mate.
30:48No worries.
30:49You have a good one.
30:49Thanks.
30:51The road's 20 times worse than what they thought.
30:53To the extent that basically the dashboard fell out of the crane.
30:59The crane and the second tank have to come out 240-odd K to meet me at the corner.
31:04And that's my worry.
31:08I won't sleep tonight till I can find out where he's at.
31:10I can't really see much out of the truck, so you're relying on them to tell you what's going on.
31:31What's going on, Jack?
31:33It makes it fun for me.
31:33It makes it fun for me.
31:34I just get to sit here and watch Jack do it all.
31:36Teamwork makes the dream work.
31:37Jack and Ashley are responsible for delivering $3.5 million worth of carbon fibre yacht before their oversized permit runs out at daybreak.
31:54Oh, I opened up a little bit, so we've got out of the tighter stuff, make up a bit of time.
32:02Apart from really, yeah, a few bridges, there should hopefully be smooth sailing.
32:06All right, I'm calling you all right, three lanes down on the roof.
32:19Someone spot that roof.
32:22All right, all right, all right.
32:23Good.
32:24Captain, we're looking at the passenger.
32:32Okay.
32:36What a truck.
32:38Another Saturday.
32:39Really?
32:39I'm trying to track the trail all the way down here to the bridge.
32:52All right, I've got the trailer on the left, tree and a guardrail on the right, Dylan.
32:56You've got about a foot.
32:58I've got about the same on the left side.
33:00You've got a tree, you've got your own foot.
33:02Oh, dickheads, put in your trailers.
33:06I know what I mean, dude.
33:08Look at these shit spots.
33:17Ah, shit, there is a truck coming.
33:25What a gun of your kind.
33:27One more on you, yeah, one more on me too, cobbled.
33:29Everyone's pretty conscious of road conditions and driving at a good speed, but the dust is the one you've got to look out for.
33:39On a mission to get his expensive new trailers home undamaged and have enough time to prepare his local track for the Laverton horse races,
33:48Rex has hit the final stretch after surviving over 1,000 kilometres of diabolical dirt road.
33:56Oh, bitch, isn't that beautiful?
34:01Like a dream come true.
34:04Puts a smile on your face, doesn't it?
34:08Oh, you've got 60 k's, then we'll be home.
34:13Yeah, looking forward to a cold beer, I think.
34:22Come back, let's see you in tippers.
34:23Get home, sweet home.
34:29It's pretty good to be back.
34:39How you going, fellas?
34:41What a trip.
34:42What have you got here?
34:43Get that cold into you, mate.
34:47Oh, you're bloody legends.
34:49Yeah, good luck.
34:51Good health.
34:53Thanks a lot.
34:54Yeah, well, it's too easy.
34:59We'll break it up tomorrow morning and I've got to get to the race course.
35:11Here we are at Laverton Race Club.
35:14Finally got here.
35:15The job is now to get the water on the track, keep the track moist so that when the horses get on here, it's good on their hoops, trying to keep an optimum track surface.
35:26Rich doesn't only grade the track, he donates all the sand because it's only used once a year.
35:35He's a fantastic little man.
35:37It's just good to be back here in Laverton and be here for the races.
35:42I'm looking forward to the weekend to catch up with all the family and all my mates and friends.
35:47Well, I think it should be good.
35:59Leads don't really matter.
36:00It's just like branches and shit.
36:02You're right on the tree at the moment.
36:07That's right.
36:07That's good.
36:08Jack McRae is in charge of a high-stakes, multi-million-dollar job for Mackay & Sons with the help of his boss's sister, Ashley.
36:30Oh, she's about to go to sleep.
36:33She's f***ing useless.
36:34Wake me up when we get there.
36:38Two minutes to four, pretty much perfect.
36:42Less than two day away.
36:44Is this the intersection I turn it?
36:51It's just at the end of this road, that's where it's going.
36:54That hot, is it?
36:57It looks like it was the worst of it.
37:02Shit.
37:02It's got to be a little bit, Jack.
37:10Inside and out.
37:14Cut off.
37:15You got an inch on the driver's side, Jack.
37:18This might be killin'.
37:24Real steady.
37:26Whoa, whoa, whoa.
37:28Light air, Jack.
37:32Real steady.
37:39Real steady.
37:39We're at 20 mil.
37:42Keep going.
37:47Yeah, you're right.
37:47Steering it over now.
37:50We're here.
37:51This is where it's going.
37:52Into the yard.
37:53That's it.
37:55That's it.
37:57Done.
38:00Boys killed it.
38:01They always do well.
38:02There's a reason, you know, why they have been doing it so long.
38:06Another one ticked off.
38:08Oh, on their stands now.
38:09So, pull the trailer out.
38:11Go home for breakfast.
38:12It's, yeah, five plus five.
38:15We made it, mate.
38:16We made it all the way.
38:17No damage.
38:18Nothing to worry about.
38:19They did it again.
38:33Better suck it in here.
38:34We're gonna meet on the bridge.
38:383.5, mate.
38:39We should be good.
38:42If I have a good run today, I should get close to my thousand kilometres.
38:57But, yeah, it's not without its stress.
39:01Steve's racing to deliver a 15-ton fuel tank, essential for providing power to a remote community.
39:08But the crane required to lift the tank could be delayed.
39:12Costing Steve precious time and money.
39:16Yesterday, Tony said to me, the crane might have some mechanical problems.
39:21This morning, there was absolutely no sign of any problems with the crane.
39:24It leaves you just stressing and worrying about what's going on.
39:28And all I can do is I'll get to the top of the Tadamai Road and wait.
39:33Well, here we go.
39:42There we go.
39:43from this beautiful scenery you'd know you're in the pilgrim just by the quads they're coming at

42:19it into halls creek get it welded and go back everything that's operated on the crane is
42:24operated by hydraulics they're hiding great big hydraulic rams that push the boom in and out
42:29the hydraulic motors that turn the cable and bring the cable in and out they control the steering on
42:35the crane they got no choice it's going to cost two days a couple of trips in and out
42:40so that will have me sitting here for a couple of days and after a day it starts to cost me money
42:49there's absolutely nothing i can do
42:54absolutely nothing
