00:00You got Yankees, Blue Jays, Game 3 coming up.
00:03How are you feeling going into Game 3,
00:05given the way that the first two ballgames have gone so far?
00:09So, I made a TikTok about this.
00:12I made a video.
00:13And I said that I passed through all five stages of grief.
00:17Already?
00:19And I'm on acceptance.
00:20How could I not?
00:21We're watching the same games.
00:23We're not playing in the same league as them.
00:26It is like Thanksgiving, where it's all the adults against the kids in a football game.
00:33But all the adults huddled together and says, you know what?
00:36We're going to pummel these children.
00:39That's what it looks like.
00:40We can't pitch.
00:42We can't hit.
00:44We can't trust anybody in the bullpen.
00:46And the Blue Jays jump on us before I'm even able to turn on the TV to watch the game.
00:50It's like as soon as I press, all right, the Yankee game is on.
00:54Shoot, I turned it on two minutes late.
00:55What's the score?
00:565-0?
00:58We're playing a different game.
01:00And I want to give all the credit to the Blue Jays.
01:03That's what I was going to say, though.
01:04I see a lot of Yankee fans, and I assume you do, too.
01:08Oh, the Yankees.
01:09It's their fault.
01:10They're not playing good.
01:11No, no, no, no, no.
01:13The Blue Jays are playing perfect baseball.
01:16They knew that these fastball splitter guys give the Yankees fits.
01:19And what did they do?
01:20They went with Gosman game one.
01:22They went with their rookie, Trey Savage, game two.
01:24They didn't go Burrios.
01:26They didn't go Bassett.
01:27They didn't go Scherzer.
01:28They knew this was the perfect matchup.
01:31And look how it unfolded.
01:32And then their offensive plan against the Yankees starting pitching.
01:36We just saw Max Free dominate the Red Sox.
01:38They jumped all over him like he was Kyle Freeland, with all due respect to Kyle Freeland.
01:47They've played perfect baseball.
01:50And the Yankees have played badly.
01:53It's perfect against bad baseball.
01:57But it's not on the Yankees.
01:59This is all pro Blue Jays.
02:01They are showing why they won the division.
02:03They're showing why they won the season series.
02:05They are showing why they were the number one seed in the American League.
02:10This Blue Jays team is a problem.
02:13Yeah.
02:13I was going to say, I felt like, so, of course, Yankees could be doing a little bit more.
02:18As always, when you're down two zip and the pitching is, you know, gotten beat up.
02:22I mean, you would have liked to see more from Freed as we're going to talk about, or just as we talked about last episode.
02:27But at the same time, there's part of me that just feels like no matter who would be playing the Blue Jays right now, I think they'd be getting their teeth kicked in.
02:34I really do believe that with the way they're swinging the bats right now.
02:37And there's no way to truly know that.
02:39But I am interested to see what happens in game three here, where I just, I can't count these Yankees out totally yet.
02:47When it's a five-game set, you've got Rodon going for you, Bieber opposite.
02:52And, of course, Bieber's been great, but that's a guy that I think the Yankees can get to, right?
02:56I think it's clear that the splitter guys have just been picking them apart, and that's what happened in game one and two, especially Yosavage, who they haven't seen.
03:03But with Rodon opposite of Bieber, and our friends at BetMGM, I'm pretty sure have them, have the Yankees at a decently heavy favorite for a playoff game.
03:13How are you feeling going into this one?
03:15And, I mean, you mentioned it kind of facetiously, but not at the same time.
03:18I know there's some truth to it.
03:20You get one here, you somehow steal another, and then it's winner-take-all, right?
03:25That's the five-game sets.
03:26And I know that's funny.
03:27It's like, yeah, that's how it works.
03:28You win three in a row.
03:29But it's like, get one, and then you're playing the next ball game, and all of a sudden it gets late in that one, and then the Blue Jays start to feel it a little bit.
03:37The tides can turn a bit quicker.
03:39I don't think it's going to happen.
03:41I'm just being candid.
03:42I think the Blue Jays are a wagon.
03:44But I'm curious, like, how do you see this game three going, or do you just think that this offense is inevitable right now for the Blue Jays?
03:51Carlos Rodon has to show up.
03:54He's thrown twice against the Blue Jays this year, both in Toronto, which is a good sign because Toronto doesn't lose at home, and their offense is prolific.
04:05Five innings, two runs.
04:08Jays have a 95 WRC plus this season against lefties on the road.
04:12So there is an area where we can say Carlos Rodon turns in a good outing.
04:17But how can we say that Shane Bieber won't?
04:19And here's an area that concerns me.
04:23Jazz Chisholm, Trent Grisham, Ben Rice, especially against the Blue Jays so far, and Cody Bellinger have all struggled.
04:33Shane Bieber has allowed a 434 OPS to lefties this season.
04:38So who's going to have to step up?
04:40It's probably going to have to be Judge.
04:42It's probably going to have to be Stanton.
04:44It's going to have to be the right-handed bats in the Yankees lineup.
04:48Now, the way baseball works, all the lefties are going to hit Bieber, and Judge and Stanton will do nothing.
