00:00During this year's mid-autumn festival, this Taipei restaurant is making sure four-legged
00:07friends won't be left out of the fun. It's making mooncakes, a traditional holiday treat,
00:12but for pets. While typically making fancy dishes for humans, the restaurant is bringing
00:29its experience to bear, and adjusting the menu for its special clients.
00:54Steamed meat and potatoes are blended into a paste, with vegetable or beetroot powder
00:58added for color. The paste is then shaped with a traditional mold, and pressed into the
01:03familiar shapes of the season. Pet owner customers say the mooncakes help bring the family together
01:11for holidays.
01:13Actually, the dog is quite short. I think we can help him do whatever he can do, especially
01:18on Christmas or any day. If he can do it, he can do it. Otherwise, he can do it for us.
01:27And while the treats are fun to make, they're also good for business.
01:31As families gather this holiday to gaze at the moon and feast, they may find the enthusiasm
01:46for traditional snacks has been eclipsed by their pet-friendly counterparts.
