00:00DIY S.O.S. is back we offer it
00:07oh my gosh I love it so much stunning look at this Ralph
00:13taking on extraordinary builds look at that it's over the house
00:20for even more extraordinary people here we go I didn't think I'd ever get upstairs
00:29again along with our secret weapon it's like an army it's a lot of people no
00:37there's no comment the great British public I'm excited I didn't know I had
00:43this many friends this time we're in Leicester we're a one in a million child
00:54needs a one in a million bills if we push hard now we'll crack it every house
01:00is a journey of discovery it freezes it's ruined right there is a whole nother
01:08back oh we clear the alleyway please no cat floors going down now this is too
01:14hectic so full on you can't guarantee anything
01:18croissant the shower's in French and it's not listening to us when we say switch
01:22off
01:32I'm off to Leicester to meet single mom Stacy daughter Paige and youngest daughter
01:37Isla now Isla's had all kinds of medical difficulties since the very beginning of
01:42her life she's seven years old now and those difficulties are getting worse
01:55she's constantly happy and genuinely even on her bad days she's always smiling
02:06what do you sleep well last night huh no of course you did you're in my bed
02:26Isla's condition is mandibular aqua dysplasia
02:32for me it affects her bone growth and premature aging of all her major organs the consultant basically
02:44explains to us that she was trouble with old age issues good girl early on in life are we
02:53getting dressed trousers on that's always a good start
02:58isla doesn't have the freedom in this house that she should have
03:06be able to turn light switches on
03:13it's quite a little cardboard box that she uses to stand on so that she can get to the sink what you
03:23want the soap all the things I think people just take for granted try hands on that
03:28yeah I'm gonna find your chair when Isla is well enough she attends her local primary school how many tens are there in the number 21
03:49well then well mum Stacy helps her nearby cafe
03:55morning hello you must be Stacy I am nice to meet you nice to meet you and it's what like a community
04:03cafe is it yes I volunteer as if you haven't got enough on your plate I know it keeps me busy and it
04:08takes my mind off a lot of things yeah is that all right Nick lovely you were saying what you're making
04:17me a coffee volunteering here helps you get your mind out of your everyday troubles yeah it's nice to come
04:24here serve people coffees and there's no stress they tell you yeah yeah and it feels like I've helped in
04:30some way helping their life a little bit yeah because obviously most of the time when we're at
04:36home I'm either helping with Isla's care or off to appointments but it's quite full-on and there's
04:43just a lot of challenges in the house it doesn't feel like a safe haven at the moment then no we get
04:51through every day sometimes with tears sometimes with laughter yeah I just like my kids to be able to
04:58be kids well we should down have a look around the house before the girls get home and see whether
05:02it's realistic that we can actually yeah make some changes to make your life easier of course yeah
05:07all right brilliant I know put them on mrs. chair for me thank you I love
05:13there's a nice having detached thank you this is very lovely all very open plan this is where
05:29most of the stuff kind of happens because upstairs there's not that much room do you have enough
05:33storage because I presume you've got a lot of medical care things no I really haven't if there's a space
05:38mainly is packed with Isla's medical stuff right and it comes in not the smallest of boxes I love
05:44your photo wall I like to take pictures of everything all the good times because sometimes
05:50it feels like it there's a lot of rough time yeah to make sure that when we're out and about try and
05:54capture those moments and make the most of them just with her mobility and things that are changing
05:59with Isla now it might be a case that we can't get out and about as much so to kind of do it whilst we can
06:04it's beautiful well I was not expecting this yeah it didn't look like this when we first started
06:16try to level it off as best as I could I'd managed to get a bit of AstroTurf that's brilliant obviously
06:22there's some issues on the outside of the house yeah I know so there's not the downpipes there should
06:27be so you're getting water running down the walls here and that's just going to cause damp problems
06:32that would all have to be sorted out what about upstairs that's a different story be careful
06:39on the stairs I've got no handrail yeah is this pages room yes pages room and when life's hard this
06:46is where she likes to come and so I wanted it to be special for her because Isla's got me and
06:52sometimes Pace just needs a bit of time on her own yeah this is Isla's room wow there is not a lot
07:02of room in there is there no she doesn't really stay in here often most of the time she's in my
07:07room can I have a look at that then yeah this is my bedroom so does she sleep in your room it's safer
07:14forward to yeah and why is it safer sometimes with the tracheostomy you can't always hear her
07:19she her voice is quite quiet so actually if there was to be an issue she couldn't necessarily just
07:25shout me with all these difficulties she facing what's the prognosis they did say that the youngest
07:31age that they've ever seen somebody in a similar condition like suffer with strokes and heart attacks
07:37was seven and obviously Isla is now seven and so that's why I try my hardest try and make every
07:50day as good as it can be yeah yeah and it's difficult when you're in an environment like this
07:56little Isla wants her independent but you're that worried about her being it or do you let her go
08:06into her own bedroom and if you do is there any way that you can keep an eye on obviously not at
08:10the moment so they have to share mum's bed and yet every day Isla's adventurous and wants to be
08:17independent mum's trying to live every day to the maximum because she doesn't know how much longer
08:24she's got I don't know how you get up and live with her every day but she has to doesn't she
08:28hello hi nice to meet you nice to meet you how you doing so listen we've been talking to your mum
08:40about your house if we do it who does it make it better for it'll probably improve it for everyone
08:45because I look me independent so mum can chill more and I can chill more I can chill more you can chill
08:56more but the whole point of me coming today was to actually look around the place and see whether
09:01it was something that we could do the good news is we are gonna come and do the house for you
09:15well the I hope these are all happy tears is they happy tears
09:43for Isla it does mean she has a chance of the independence she wants just to be able to open
09:52her own bedroom door to turn on her own light switch and the mum can relax and she knows that
09:57whatever time they have together as a family they can make the most of it every day that's what this
10:02bill can do it's not gonna be easy but I can't think of a better reason to come and build can you than
10:08to give people time together you know give us a hand and grab a couple of cones start from this
10:20side I'll start from the other side after three months of planning and preparation I'm back in
10:25Leicester I think up until today I've still thought that someone's gonna turn around and go yeah we can't do it I don't think you'll be surprised to find out that we've had a
10:34massive response you know there's a good community around here yeah as soon as we put up and ask for people to come and help there's just masses of people volunteering oh I actually need to tell them at some stage to come down the road I do that on a radio would you like to do that with me yeah
10:46all three of those all right that sounds like a good idea press that button you're ready
11:03you ready
11:08ready
11:13I think I can hear people.
11:19Trades people from all over the country have answered the call for help.
11:25Oh, my God.
11:27Oh, my God.
11:29That's a lot, isn't it?
11:30Just a bit.
11:32It's a huge turnout.
11:35Everybody ready to do their bit to help this family.
11:39This is amazing.
11:43So you are excited. Would you like to go out and meet them?
11:46Yeah.
11:58I don't know. Why?
12:01She just said, why am I clapping?
12:05It's amazing that you've all turned up at the kindness of your hearts
12:09and it's going to absolutely change everything.
12:11I know it'll be amazing.
12:13So have fun, because that's what our house is for us.
12:16Somewhere we make memories and have fun.
12:18So just enjoy it.
12:20Thank you all for everything you're going to do for the family.
12:25I just hope it all goes to plan.
12:27So do we.
12:28Is there anything you want to say?
12:30Good luck.
12:31Good luck.
12:40Right, so we've got just nine days to turn this house around.
12:43Are we up for it?
12:44Yeah!
12:44Let's get going.
12:45Come on, here we come.
12:53Isn't that just the loveliest thing in the world?
12:54It's like riding a tiger, darling.
13:00One on the wall, I guess.
13:07This is manic.
13:08So what's the layout going to be up here?
13:10Everything's changed.
13:11So this was Paige's room.
13:13This is now going to be Isla's room.
13:15And the thing is, with Isla's condition,
13:17is, you know, suddenly things can escalate.
13:19And this will give proper space for a proper hospital bed,
13:24medical storage, everything she needs.
13:26But also, it's going to be invisible.
13:28It's just going to look like a beautiful girl's room.
13:30Nice.
13:33So what's the room next door?
13:34Mum's bedroom.
13:35So this is Stacey's room?
13:38Yep, this is Stacey's beautiful room.
13:39Walk-in wardrobe there.
13:42Doesn't every woman want a walk-in wardrobe?
13:44It's the dream.
13:45And Stacey deserves it.
13:54Good to have everyone back together.
13:56With a full remodel underway,
13:58we need to make sure every room in this house
14:00caters for the family's needs.
14:02This build is all about making it accessible
14:04for Isla and giving them all more space
14:08so that it's not such a stress.
14:10One of the biggest problems is Isla is in a tiny bedroom.
14:14And although she is quite small in stature,
14:16her needs are big.
14:17So we've got to have a complete rethink of the top floor.
14:21Upstairs on the first floor,
14:22Isla's box room will be turned into a walk-in wardrobe
14:25of Stacey's bedroom,
14:27while Isla moves next door
14:28into what is currently Paige's double bedroom.
14:31On the ground floor,
14:32Big Sister Paige will have a brand-new bedroom
14:35created from the current living room.
14:38So Mum and Isla will be on the top floor,
14:40so in any emergencies,
14:41they're close to each other,
14:42but we've lost our sitting room now,
14:44so we've got to do an extension.
14:46A new single-storey extension at the back of the house
14:48will make space for a brand-new living room.
14:50And a redesigned kitchen means we now have space
14:54to create Isla a fully accessible downstairs bathroom.
14:59I'm so stressed about storage for these guys
15:02because they get huge deliveries of medical equipment
15:04and there's nowhere to put anything.
15:06How much storage are you talking?
15:08Everywhere. I want everything.
15:09OK.
15:10I want all the cupboards.
15:11By the looks of it,
15:12there's going to be a tonne of bespoke furniture
15:14and it's really difficult to make it on such a busy site.
15:18Can you get some people to work off-site to build stuff
15:21and then bring that in late?
15:22I think that will end up having to be the best solution.
15:25Your bespoke furniture and everything,
15:27are you having any LED lighting?
15:30That could be funky.
15:31That's very modern thinking from you, Bill, then.
15:33Oh, he'd find another book.
15:35Yeah.
15:35Also would be handy if we have different heights
15:40for the switches for Isla.
15:42Yes.
15:42And door handles.
15:43There's nothing standard here
15:44and that's why it's going to be a massive challenge.
15:47Christopher, the outside is wet and messy.
15:49We'll have to have a look at the render on the outside.
15:51If it's not any good, we're going to have to do something.
15:53That's really weather-dependent.
15:54It's cold and damp.
15:55Because of the cold temperature.
15:56Yeah.
15:57Ash, Stacey's done some work in the garden
15:59and I think you can add a level of extra to it
16:01building what they've already done.
16:03A problem I'm going to have this time of year
16:04is that nurseries don't actually stock a lot of stuff.
16:07Yeah, but, mate, to be honest,
16:08if it wasn't tricky, we could get anyone.
16:09That's the point.
16:10That's why we've got you.
16:11Yeah, no pressure.
16:13Obviously, there's a lot of potential pitfalls
16:15but as Stacey said, if she left, let's have fun.
16:18Oh.
16:18Yeah, it's always fun.
16:19All right, let's keep going.
16:25Try and make sure that it lays flat in there.
16:28That's it.
16:29Hello, my darlings.
16:30Shall we have a chat about the joinery situation?
16:33To allow Isla to use everything in the new house...
16:36I'm really stressed about joinery, aren't I, Radha?
16:38Yeah.
16:39...carpenters will need to hand make and fit
16:41more than a dozen pieces of furniture, chairs and wardrobes.
16:46We have tons and tons of stuff to do on this job.
16:49We can't do anything off the shelf.
16:51Our main worry is there's going to be a point in the week
16:54when we need to fit everything at the same time
16:56and it's going to be like this joinery kind of Rubik's Cube.
16:59I honestly still can't get my head around how we're going to do it.
17:02I hate to use the pun, but it hinges on joinery.
17:06You know, we've got to make it work for Isla,
17:08but this is a big job.
17:10This is the extension.
17:18An essential element to the new house design is creating more space.
17:22He loves it, like flat-back extensions just turns up at a low loader.
17:25Yeah, yeah, it's a lot of crazy.
17:27Make space, coming through.
17:30This new extension will add nearly 20 square metres to the ground floor.
17:34We're going to try and get this up today.
17:35Yeah, yeah, it's a tight schedule, isn't it?
17:38Yeah.
17:38I'll be very pleased when we get to the end of the day
17:40and I can walk around a room that wasn't there 10 hours ago, you know?
17:45Lift it up.
17:47While we create a whole new room...
17:50Right, this is the stairs of doom, Matt.
17:54Gabby wants to utilise every square inch of space we already have.
17:58We've got medical equipment, we've got shoes, we've got school bags,
18:01so we need everything under the stairs.
18:03I'm thinking three drawers there, everything will be pushed to open.
18:05So it'll be flat and seamless.
18:07So how millimetre perfect are you?
18:10We pre-build everything, so we just come in, slide it in place.
18:13If it's wrong, we're wrong.
18:16We have to put storage in, we need the storage for meds.
18:19We also need to do work on top of the stairs,
18:21get all the handrails and spindles that we need in,
18:24which I hate to do,
18:25because we're going to stop all the work in the top and the bottom of the house.
18:29I know from experience this is going to be a problem.
18:31About another hour and a half would have the roof on.
18:36It's flying up, isn't it?
18:38Just over an hour since it arrived...
18:41It's exciting, isn't it?
18:42I love it.
18:43...the main structure of the flat pack extension is almost complete.
18:46This has just popped up.
18:50Yeah, yeah.
18:50This is crazy, Nick.
18:51Well, you've still got a lot of roofing to do and things that make it all watertight,
18:55but I was worried that we'd get this up in a day.
18:57I reckon we're going to have our lunchtime at this rate.
19:00I've got the ladder if you want to go higher to look over.
19:02There we go, there it is!
19:04Beautiful!
19:05Top job, lad.
19:06I want just an explosion of colour and nature and really just have fun with the planting here.
19:15You're looking weird.
19:16What's happened?
19:17The whole thing is artificial grass.
19:19I'm never going to be a fan of artificial grass, ever.
19:22I hate it.
19:23I detest it.
19:24I loathe it.
19:25Ideally, we want to make this a beautiful, wild space.
19:29We're going to need some plants, real-life plants.
19:33Hello, how are you doing?
19:34I know it's like the wrong time of year.
19:36I've been able to try and find this, but, yeah, I really hope you can help me out.
19:40Do you let the gas down the sky?
19:43As the house is gutted, Billy and his team of electricians are all so hard at it.
19:49Light switch, it's not there.
19:51This is because Isla can reach the switch.
19:54Proper eye, bang, she can turn them off.
19:56Also, we're taking all the doorknobs down as well.
19:58The house is built for Isla.
20:00Yeah.
20:00But you know what'll happen, don't you?
20:01What'll happen?
20:02She'll turn the light on, get in the bed,
20:04and then she'll go,
20:06Mum!
20:07So Mum will come running, I'll just turn the light off.
20:09Are you not putting a switch so she can switch the light up by the bed?
20:12Yeah, we are.
20:12Go on, spoil me, Charlie.
20:13Oh, sorry.
20:17Listen to that.
20:20Hollow.
20:21It's a lot worse than I thought.
20:23It's just like dust.
20:27The render, a cement-based layer on the outside of the house, is old and crumbling.
20:31That is not right.
20:32That is not right.
20:33Chris!
20:34Hello.
20:35Can I have a word?
20:35I thought we were only doing patch and repair.
20:40So did we.
20:41And now there's half of it off.
20:42Yeah.
20:43I've never seen render so fine and dead.
20:46So we've put a day on the job.
20:48At least, yeah.
20:49But it's a better job.
20:50So we've got to act quick.
20:51How are you going to render it then if it's freezing at night?
20:53We can't take it all off.
20:54We haven't got time.
20:56So we'll concentrate on the blown patches.
20:58Tonight, it gets down to zero.
21:00What's the temperature we can't get to?
21:02Say minus four, minus five.
21:04It will damage it, will it?
21:04If it freezes, it's ruined.
21:09This is the trouble with renovating old houses.
21:13I'm going to go around the corner and cry.
21:17I think what I might do is put a glass of water outside my hotel window
21:21and then I'll stay up all night looking at it every five minutes
21:23to see whether it's frozen.
21:25Because when it freezes, it means we're in trouble.
21:30Fingers crossed.
21:30Yeah.
21:32Coming through.
21:34Sorry, everybody.
21:34Squeezing through.
21:36It's just day one,
21:37but we've added nearly 50% more space to the ground floor.
21:41Happy done.
21:42It's exciting, isn't it?
21:44This is incredible.
21:45And it already feels cosy.
21:46I can already see them here.
21:48Where's the sofa going?
21:49Sofa here.
21:50Big corner unit.
21:51And then sitting here, just looking out on the garden.
21:53It's going to be lovely.
21:54Of the series of worries I had for this build,
21:56that's one ticked off.
21:57You got any other worries?
21:58Joinery.
21:58I'm just tense about the stair situation stopping the whole build.
22:02The worry for me is the render on the outside and how cold it gets.
22:06Can you see that?
22:07It's very cold.
22:10That's it, folks.
22:11That's end of day.
22:12Let's back down and get out.
22:13Thank you very much.
22:14Christopher, my app is now saying that it's going to get down to minus two to three.
22:20This is a big, big worry.
22:25We've had such an amazing day, and people have worked so hard.
22:27But then just right at the end, you get, like, a kick in the unmentionables.
22:32I'm genuinely terrified about what's going to happen to the outside of the building now.
22:35And I won't know till tomorrow morning.
22:36Oh, dear.
22:43Look, that's clear as a bell.
22:45This is frosty.
22:47Overnight in Leicester, the temperature plummeted.
22:50It's not like a heavy frost.
22:51That looks pretty frosty to me.
22:54Positive, yeah?
22:54Yes.
22:55I'm crapping myself.
22:56The render might be frozen.
22:58But someone's got to be positive, yeah?
23:02Minus one.
23:03Should we do these jobs in the summer?
23:05Yeah.
23:06Thank you so much.
23:10Morning, everybody.
23:11How are we doing?
23:12Cold.
23:13Yeah, it's a little bit chilly, isn't it?
23:14Yeah.
23:15If the frost has destroyed the render, starting again will add more than a day to the build.
23:22Hello, buddy.
23:23How are you?
23:24Has it stuck?
23:24It's dry.
23:26But has it stuck?
23:27Yes.
23:28The render's stuck?
23:28Yeah.
23:29It hasn't froze.
23:30If you couldn't get your thumb in it, it would be like ice, wouldn't it?
23:33Yeah.
23:33Because you can put your thumb in it, the frost hasn't got it.
23:36So we're all right?
23:36Yeah, it was fine, honestly.
23:38No need to worry.
23:41When it got really cold last night, there was a slight worry.
23:43But actually, we've taken on the frost and won.
23:46What are you doing, buddy?
23:48That bar rooms looking busy?
23:54How we doing, fellas?
23:57All right?
23:57All right.
23:58All right.
23:58You're fitting patio doors on a building that wasn't here at 9 o'clock yesterday morning.
24:03I know.
24:07That ceiling has a lot of bead on the end.
24:09How are you going to stop that?
24:10Just put a bit of board there.
24:11The beads are in the cart.
24:12Thinkers, Plaster.
24:13It's thinkers.
24:14With the exterior render issues sorted,
24:17Chris and his team can now turn their attention to the inside.
24:21It's going to be two days boarded and skimmed.
24:23I think that is going to be an SOS record.
24:28It's like a plastering opera.
24:31No ballet.
24:33It's going to be two days boarded.
24:39First one to see it is the winner.
24:42All right.
24:43I saw it.
24:45A few miles east of the build.
24:48Well, I think we should sing her happy birthday.
24:50Now, how's the tune going on?
24:52We're meeting Stacey, Paige and Isla at Leicester Airport
24:56to celebrate a very important occasion.
24:58Happy birthday.
24:59Despite having never been up in a small aircraft,
25:08Isla is an avid plane spotter.
25:11Where do you think that one's going?
25:14You think that one's going fast?
25:15Happy birthday to you.
25:17Happy birthday, dear Isla.
25:20Happy birthday to you.
25:24Happy birthday, sweetie.
25:31How old are you today?
25:33Eight.
25:34It's nearly double figures.
25:35Yeah, that's a lot.
25:36What is it that you like about this place?
25:38What's your favourite?
25:43You like the planes best, do you?
25:45It's so exciting, isn't it?
25:47While Isla and Paige take Gabby and Billy on a tour of the hangar...
25:50Could you imagine sitting in it?
25:52Yeah, with your hair flowing in the wind.
25:54You'd be a film star, wouldn't you?
25:56I don't know.
25:57I want to know, how's Stacey doing?
26:00So, like all children, she's buzzing about her birthday?
26:02We've had a countdown from about 14 days.
26:05Really?
26:05Yeah.
26:06But given what you were, like, we had the conversation about the prognosis going forward,
26:11every birthday is a difficult marker, is it?
26:14I think last year was probably the hardest,
26:16because that's when we started to find out that things were changing.
26:20And you just want to stay in that, that good period.
26:24But it is always something that just runs in the back of your mind.
26:27Like, what's this year going to bring?
26:32And it terrifies.
26:39But my biggest fear is just seeing her deteriorate.
26:43Yeah.
26:45Do you know what?
26:46I get it.
26:48Let's not say it out loud.
26:49Yeah?
26:50Yeah.
26:53Because she's such a big, happy character,
26:55and that's what I want her to be always.
26:57Yeah.
26:58But you've got to make the most of every moment, haven't you?
27:00That's the thing.
27:01Yeah.
27:05And that's how we all get through it.
27:07You're doing a great job.
27:09I think you've done an extraordinary job,
27:11because she's full of joy and full of fun.
27:14I am proud of her both.
27:16Does Paige help you get through it?
27:18More than she knows.
27:21Because Paige misses out sometimes.
27:23She's had to lose out on quite a bit.
27:25She deserves this house just as much as Isla does.
27:28If you can have any of these, which planes you would like best?
27:35The one with a moustache.
27:36That's good.
27:37That's just kidding.
27:40Hello.
27:41Hi.
27:41Hello, how was that?
27:43You had so much fun.
27:44Was it nice to get up close with an aeroplane?
27:48So, because it's your birthday,
27:50would you like to actually go in one of these planes and fly?
27:59Let's go.
28:00How exciting is this, Isla?
28:02It's so much fun.
28:04Happy birthday, Isla, and have a good flight.
28:13It's a very feel weird.
28:15It's making you very feel weird.
28:18Shall we see if we can fly over your house, Isla?
28:20Yeah.
28:21How are we going to pick out your house?
28:23It has to look close to Elvis.
28:26Yeah, that's a good idea.
28:28Look, there's the house just underneath us.
28:29Happy birthday, Isla!
28:35You're waving.
28:37Now I bet they were pleased to get a break to be able to come out and wave.
28:40Bye, guys.
28:43In terms of your bird base, is this a good one?
28:46It looks good.
28:51You've made me these beautiful mood boards.
28:53Gabby and Isla's sister Paige have taken the opportunity
28:56to chat design ideas for her new bedroom.
28:58You're bringing nature in with these plants
29:01and you like greens and whites.
29:04Yeah.
29:05We just like calm and happy.
29:08When you're trying to sleep at the moment,
29:10is it quite hectic upstairs?
29:12Me and mum share a wall,
29:14so then when Isla wakes up, it's really loud.
29:16I'm a big sister as well and it's difficult sometimes, isn't it?
29:21Yeah.
29:21What's the best thing about being a big sister?
29:23Probably being able to help her, like, when she's scared of things,
29:26like hospital appointments and stuff.
29:29Because she really doesn't like them.
29:31I think you're one of the best big sisters I've ever met.
29:34We're going to get you a really lovely bedroom.
29:36But I'm also noticing there's a cushion with frogs all over it.
29:40I love frogs.
29:41They're just cute.
29:42I love this, Paige.
29:43I think you've done a really good job.
29:47I've got a toy echo.
29:48It's up this long final one-zero to land.
29:54Clearly, Stacey's brilliant at putting to the back of her mind
29:59the things that she knows are coming
30:02in order that they can live every day to the full.
30:05Ta-da!
30:06All the builders that have turned up to help,
30:08they realise that they can make a difference to this family
30:11to make each day that little bit easier
30:14so that they can make memories.
30:16You went on a plane on your birthday.
30:19You've got to do the same dance.
30:21Yeah.
30:29You've got bricks here.
30:31The outside sockets.
30:33One's been done now and finished,
30:35but the other one is going to be a Wi-Fi one.
30:37Right, OK.
30:38Being a Jurassic, Sparks,
30:40I can't give up with the young ones.
30:43Absolutely crazy at the moment.
30:48After our chats with the family,
30:50Gabby wants to make a last-minute change in Mum's bedroom.
30:54So what's the plan then?
30:55I suddenly thought,
30:56because my daughter was very, very unwell,
30:57I would love to see her.
30:59And I thought,
31:00could we just fit a concealed door in here,
31:05a jib door,
31:06when things are really bad,
31:07she can just open the door.
31:08There's a door there.
31:10I think she needs to see her.
31:11She needs to be able to see her mum.
31:13So she might want to leave the door open?
31:15Yeah.
31:16Look, this is what I want.
31:18It's the jib door there.
31:19You can't show me a picture from a stately home
31:21and then say that that's what you want in a three-bedroom semi.
31:24I absolutely can.
31:26It's not ideal on a job.
31:27That's already too joinery heavy
31:29and I've kind of added to it.
31:31It's not just punching a hole
31:32and sticking a door in it.
31:33No.
31:34Because you can't even put a standard frame in it.
31:36No.
31:38Now I'm saying all of this out loud,
31:39it seems like a terrible idea,
31:41but it's too late now.
31:44We've cut the hole.
31:48Yeah.
31:50God.
31:56Nobody's sitting on there.
31:57Look at the gap.
32:00Look at the gap.
32:02What's the old saying?
32:03Measure twice and cut once.
32:05He's on the metaphor.
32:07Morning.
32:07Morning.
32:08How are you finding the size?
32:09Love it.
32:10I'm more worried about my mate here.
32:11He's a bit stressful,
32:12but if he's not got copper in his hand,
32:14he's not happy.
32:14While work continues around the house...
32:21Andy, John, if you're free.
32:23Upstairs, Gabby is making final design choices.
32:27Isla's bedroom.
32:28Oh, that's nice.
32:29Really excited about this.
32:31So we have a ceiling colour down the walls.
32:34We've got this amazing teal stripe.
32:36Yeah.
32:36Lovely.
32:37But we need to bring in a third colour,
32:39otherwise it's going to be too dull.
32:40Okay.
32:41When you get into interior design,
32:42what you dream of is colour and wallpapers
32:46and beautifulness.
32:48She often wears this really strong coral colour.
32:50Nice.
32:51That's going to be amazing.
32:53And this house,
32:54we've had to put in so much functionality.
32:55It needs the functionality of the hospital,
32:57but it needs to look exquisite.
32:59And so we're now at the point
33:00where we can think about all that,
33:02all the loveliness.
33:04Stacey's room,
33:05we've got this amazing panorama paper.
33:09How fab is that?
33:11That's lovely, isn't it?
33:12My dilemma is,
33:13we're putting a lot of dark in this room already.
33:15Would it be too mad
33:16that we actually just went dark on the ceilings
33:18and just wrapped the whole thing?
33:19That'll really make this pop.
33:21I think we ought to go dark.
33:23That is the answer I wanted.
33:24That is the right answer.
33:25I was actually trying that answer.
33:27But what I need is a united front.
33:30If Nick sees us painting a ceiling black,
33:33he's going to kick off.
33:34There is going to be a moment in time
33:36when this room is going to look terrible.
33:38Get something black as night.
33:40Yeah.
33:41It's going to have a black ceiling
33:42and no paper on the walls.
33:45Where are you going to go with it?
33:46Are you going to put it on top of that?
33:48And he gets very distressed
33:49by things like grey, black.
33:53OK, let's have it in him.
33:54And he's going to give me a lot of flack about it.
33:57First bit of paint.
33:58Thank you so much.
33:59This is the joinery for the handbell of the stairs.
34:07That just goes right in there.
34:09Woo!
34:10Ha!
34:11Woo!
34:12That's good.
34:14Yeah.
34:14Boy!
34:16Smash a window.
34:16It'll be fun.
34:23Ash!
34:24Yeah.
34:24How are you doing?
34:25Yeah, great.
34:26I'm a bit anxious, actually.
34:29Still a building site.
34:30Yeah.
34:31And I'm having a hard time
34:32finding a nursery who can supply me
34:34because to get plants this time of year
34:35is actually quite tricky
34:36and I'm a bit nervous about that.
34:37But the steps, you like steps?
34:39I think they look lovely.
34:39I love it too much.
34:40There's something quite elegant
34:41about the shorter steps.
34:42I think so, yeah.
34:43But we've got to make sure
34:44that everybody keeps up with that
34:45because the guys laying the slabs
34:47are on the edge of losing their sense of humour.
34:51Everybody in the garden,
34:52do not walk down these steps.
34:54Do not walk on those pavings.
34:56It's the fourth time
34:57they're having to lay those.
34:59We've got to change the shower tray.
35:01Yeah.
35:01Yeah.
35:01We've got to get a new enclosure.
35:07Hey, Matt.
35:08Hello.
35:09Oh, excited.
35:12Carpenter Matt has been tasked
35:13with creating the secret door
35:15between Mum Stacey
35:16and Isla's bedrooms.
35:18We're going to dress this
35:19as a bookshelf on Isla's side.
35:21It's going to look like a bookcase one.
35:22I love this.
35:24Is it going to work?
35:25We'll see.
35:26There's going to be lots of things to work out.
35:28There's something very reassuring
35:29about the efficiency of your glasses.
35:31You just look like a proper cabinet maker.
35:33No pressure.
35:39Oi, Matt.
35:40I thought I'd come over
35:41and have a look at this jib door.
35:42Jib door, yeah.
35:43The big project, actually,
35:44it turns out
35:45we've now got to make false books.
35:46So we've got to take the ends
35:47off a load of books.
35:48A load of donations
35:49coming in in the next couple of days.
35:50We're going to be able to stick them
35:51straight onto the door.
35:52I love the fact
35:53this idea that Gabby had
35:54partway through the build
35:56has become your life's work
35:58in one effort.
35:59Well, well, yeah.
36:00But you will love it.
36:01Completely.
36:02I mean, my little boy,
36:03he's three months old
36:04and he's been in and out of hospital.
36:06So he's had heart surgery.
36:07Obviously, it's different
36:08to what Isla's going through
36:09but kind of understand
36:10the complexities of life
36:11being different
36:11and you kind of like,
36:12yeah, I get why
36:13all of these things
36:14are being made purposely for her.
36:15That's amazing.
36:16Well done, mate.
36:17I'll leave you to it.
36:19We've been working.
36:20Oh, this is awesome.
36:22Can you just give me a go ahead
36:24and let me know
36:24what we want to do?
36:25We're going to adapt this unit
36:26and make it into a pull-out worktop
36:28for Isla
36:29so she could pull her worktop out
36:32here and be involved
36:33in the cooking if she wants.
36:34I'm so excited.
36:37As well as a more accessible kitchen,
36:39Isla's new rise and fall bath
36:41is being installed.
36:43A lot easier
36:43standing inside of the bath,
36:45using the bath
36:46as a carer
36:47or somebody like that.
36:48So, yeah.
36:49It's a good bit of care.
36:50Definitely.
36:53Take off that top edge
36:54and not go in.
36:58These handrails
36:59are just going to open up
37:00half of the house to Isla
37:01so the measurements
37:02have to be absolutely perfect.
37:06Tomorrow, bespoke furniture
37:07for every room in the house
37:09needs to be moved in
37:10and fitted.
37:11Are you in?
37:12I am.
37:13That's quite a bit too long.
37:15Ryder and his team
37:16must finish the handrails tonight.
37:18Otherwise,
37:18access to the whole top floor
37:20will be cut off.
37:21Mate, that's miles up.
37:22What's going on?
37:23It is miles up.
37:25I've obviously measured
37:26something wrong, mate.
37:29The problem right now
37:30is the joinery
37:31isn't quite going together.
37:34There's a fear
37:35that I'm going to have
37:35to recut all the joints.
37:37We're just going to power
37:42through the night
37:43because, my God,
37:44we don't have time
37:44to waste on this thing.
37:50Do you need help?
37:52Yes, please.
37:52I like mine strong,
37:58but nowhere near that way.
38:00Free bags.
38:01I like it orange.
38:03The upstairs bathroom
38:05is being installed
38:06with a state-of-the-art
38:07voice-activated shower
38:08and germ-busting wall coverings.
38:10Well, for the first time ever,
38:13we're using sheet tiling
38:16because we need to really think
38:17about Isla's immune system
38:19and so it's really just
38:20a really safe,
38:22clean surfaces
38:23with minimal grouting.
38:26You all right?
38:27Good.
38:29Massive day
38:30with the joinery.
38:33That staircase,
38:33will that be done?
38:34We had a lot of dance
38:35with that last night
38:36until very, very late,
38:37but it's in.
38:38What's our critical time
38:40with the joinery?
38:41By about 3 o'clock,
38:42we're going to have
38:43like seven different teams
38:44of joiners
38:45all coming in
38:46with different piece
38:47of bespoke furniture.
38:48If it goes well,
38:49I'll be part of it.
38:50If not,
38:51I'll be standing at the side
38:52going, well...
38:52I told Rana.
38:54I told him he should have been ready.
39:07It's now a race against time
39:09to get every room ready
39:10and decorated
39:11before the furniture arrives.
39:14Now, you're only allowed in
39:15if you behave
39:16and don't get upset.
39:17Hi, my darlings.
39:19Morning.
39:20Oh, it's lighter than I thought.
39:22That's like black, isn't it?
39:26I like it.
39:27I like these kind of colours.
39:29French greens,
39:29French blues,
39:30French greys.
39:32Who are you
39:33and what have you done with Nick?
39:34What's going on?
39:35What's going on?
39:47That's the first bit of joinery there.
39:49So, they're here early.
39:51We're not ready for them.
39:53So, this is...
39:55Boyer cupboard,
39:56media unit,
39:57upstairs wardrobe
39:58and dressing table.
40:00Ooh!
40:03Right there
40:04is a whole nother van load
40:05with a whole nother team
40:06which is nuts.
40:10What have we got in here?
40:11There's two media walls
40:12for the extension.
40:13OK.
40:14The patio's just been laid.
40:15There's only certain slabs
40:16you can stand on.
40:17Can we clear the alleyway, please?
40:20Do not step on the one
40:21with the tape.
40:21Don't stand on that one.
40:22Come off that one.
40:24Got it?
40:24Well done, boys.
40:25Well done, boys.
40:26Well done, boys.
40:26Good effort.
40:27Well done.
40:27Well done, boys.
40:28We've got two sets
40:29of joiners here already.
40:30We've got...
40:31I can't remember
40:31how many more to come.
40:32It's just too much
40:33at the same time.
40:37Hi, darlings.
40:38Hi, Matt.
40:38Hello.
40:39How are we doing?
40:40I'm having a breakdown.
40:41I'm having a breakdown.
40:42There's too many things
40:43happening at once.
40:45The understairs storage
40:46for Isla's medical supplies
40:47has arrived
40:48and it needs to fit
40:51with millimetre precision.
40:53I've got to take
40:53that top off there.
40:56Hang on, hang on.
40:57What if we take
40:58that 18mm off there?
40:59There's a slight dip there
41:00but there's not much in it.
41:03Why don't we try
41:03running your end in first?
41:06Ooh.
41:07Yes, boys.
41:09That is bang on.
41:12Basically, you've gone
41:13from somewhere
41:13and you stick the hoover
41:14to suddenly a really
41:16usable space.
41:17Thank you very much.
41:18Appreciate it.
41:25Wow.
41:26More and more furniture
41:28is arriving.
41:29This stuff is going
41:30into Paige's room.
41:31Grab this one for you.
41:33Where's it going?
41:33Inside there.
41:34No, it can't.
41:35Floor's going down now
41:36so nothing can go
41:37in that room
41:37at all.
41:38Okay.
41:42This is going
41:42into the dressing room.
41:43Stacey's dressing room?
41:45Stacey's dressing room, yeah.
41:46But I can see
41:47that the decorators
41:48are still doing
41:49the decoration
41:49in Stacey's room
41:50which means
41:51we can't put
41:51the stuff in there.
41:53Yeah.
41:54I'll go and talk to them.
41:58Are we at all worried
41:59about this stuff
42:00coming in
42:00whilst you've got
42:01wallpaper on the wall?
42:02Yeah, but probably
42:02best to unwrap it
42:03and then take it in
42:04so then it's minimal
42:04time in there.
42:06Yeah.
42:06They're like
42:08this is the problem
42:09with having all
42:09this bespoke stuff
42:10happening all
42:10at the same time.
42:11It literally
42:12is nowhere to put
42:13anything.
42:13Anyone for any more?
42:15Radha's trying
42:15to send stuff in
42:16and I'm trying
42:18to stop stuff
42:18coming in
42:19because what I want
42:20them to do
42:20is start fitting things
42:21and bring up
42:22one unit at a time
42:22and really terrified
42:24that someone's
42:24going to patch
42:25the wallpaper.
42:26It's just really,
42:27really hectic today.
42:29Talking of weeks
42:29by the way.
42:32It's very beautiful
42:33and that secret door
42:34which when you said
42:35it I thought
42:36you're just going
42:38to blow her away.
42:40You'd never know
42:41there was the door
42:41did it?
42:42We do have
42:42a massive problem
42:43though.
42:44The shower
42:45only speaks French.
42:47What?
42:50Bonjour.
42:52Croissant.
42:53Leave it to me.
42:53Oh no.
42:54Don't need a douche.
42:56What's le problem?
42:57Press the wrong button
42:58and it's now in French.
42:59Now in French.
43:00And never can't
43:00get back up.
43:01Quel problem shower?
43:04Bonjour shower.
43:05The thing is
43:05we can't turn it off
43:06next.
43:07But press the knob
43:08as well.
43:08What you were doing?
43:09Bonjour shower.
43:12Can we get another
43:12bucket up here
43:13really, really quick?
43:15The shower's French
43:15and it's not listening
43:16to us when we say
43:17switch off.
43:18And we're running
43:19out of bucket.
43:21Un, deux, trois.
43:22Au revoir.
43:22Turned out
43:26au revoir
43:27was the way
43:27of stopping it.
43:29That was one of the
43:30most chaotic scenes
43:31I think I've seen
43:32in a long time
43:33on DOSOS.
43:34Trying to get
43:34all the people
43:35with all the equipment
43:35they need
43:36and all the cabinets
43:36into all the
43:38different rooms.
43:42Meanwhile,
43:43the shower
43:43is only speaking
43:44French.
43:44A nuts evening
43:50but because we
43:53persevered
43:53we're in with a chance.
43:55Very, very nice.
43:57I'll tell you what,
43:58it's just as well
43:58this bus stop
43:59is suspended
43:59because otherwise
44:00I might stand here
44:01and get on the next one
44:01home.
44:01Oh, look at this.
44:12We've actually got
44:13real life plants.
44:14I was really worried
44:16about not being able
44:17to find the plants.
44:18I've managed to get
44:19some from a local nursery.
44:20Amazing, thank you.
44:22For Isla,
44:22this is going to create
44:23a really beautiful sanctuary.
44:24There'll be plants
44:25you can touch and smell
44:26and I can't wait
44:27to get them in the garden.
44:28This is the bit
44:29that makes me happy.
44:31Plants.
44:31Very nice.
44:34Despite working
44:35into the early hours
44:36to get all the furniture fitted.
44:38Bev, what's happened, darling?
44:39It's just not been
44:40screwed on properly
44:41and started letting water out.
44:42So that one is not right.
44:44We need to alter that one.
44:45To make every room
44:46fully accessible for Isla,
44:48there's still
44:48a huge amount
44:49of work to do.
44:51Today is the final day.
44:52Abby, really,
44:53this is a maximum
44:54stress level
44:55on the day
44:55when she is creating
44:57the magic she's
44:57always had in her head.
44:59I've got to get
44:59my lines straight
45:00otherwise I won't be
45:00able to sleep at night.
45:02I was very excited
45:03we got through yesterday
45:04which was phenomenal.
45:06You know, 15 pieces
45:07of joinery
45:08going in a one-er.
45:09Yeah, that there.
45:11But now we're
45:11on to the next layer.
45:13Oh, yes!
45:18Are they taller?
45:18Is that just higher?
45:19This one can come
45:20a little bit this way.
45:22Yeah, I'm happy with that.
45:23Hi, Radha.
45:24Oh, Gabby,
45:25just in time.
45:26These chairs
45:26have just arrived.
45:27Isla wants to be
45:28like every other
45:29eight-year-old.
45:30Yeah.
45:30Is there some way
45:30we can adapt this
45:32because she doesn't
45:33want to have a baby share?
45:34Yes.
45:34I can add in
45:35an extra spindle
45:36sort of connecting
45:37right here.
45:38Okay.
45:38It'll almost be
45:38like a ladder.
45:39Let's do it.
45:40By let's do it,
45:40I mean, could you do it?
45:41Yes, I'm on it.
45:42I'm all over it.
45:43Thanks, Holly.
45:44Thank you, Gabby.
45:47Look at this.
45:47It's looking amazing.
45:48I love it.
45:49You've got access
45:49straight from the
45:50extension now as well.
45:51Yeah.
45:52And it's all flat.
45:52In nine days,
45:53it's amazing
45:54what you can do.
46:00Press that one now.
46:01The backrest will come up.
46:02Come on, John.
46:03Guys, thank you so much
46:05for delivering
46:05this amazing bed
46:06because Isla needs
46:07a proper practical bed
46:08so where,
46:09if they need to,
46:09they can do some nursing
46:10and look after
46:11the trackie she's got.
46:12Of course, yeah.
46:12And this bed
46:13is the reason
46:14we've redesigned
46:15this whole house.
46:15Brilliant.
46:16Just be able to
46:17put herself to bed
46:18for the first time ever.
46:19That's the idea.
46:20Amazing.
46:21Matt, how are you doing, mate?
46:25Not only does Isla
46:26have a new bed...
46:27The books are actually
46:28coming on.
46:28It's a big moment.
46:30But the bookcase
46:30on the secret door
46:31is almost finished.
46:33How many books
46:33have you cut?
46:34Just over 300.
46:36Gabby's hot on my table.
46:37Everyone is chasing.
46:38Everyone is chasing.
46:39Pass me some books.
46:40Let's fire them up there.
46:43Wow.
46:44There's not another door
46:45like this in the world.
46:47Just like little Isla.
46:50Bucket in,
46:50and then we're going to
46:51top up
46:51and then we're going
46:52to start planting.
46:54You were about to do
46:55the stairs as well,
46:56aren't you?
46:56With carpets.
46:57Carpet's going in
46:57in five minutes.
46:58They've finished that room
46:59and they're coming up here now.
47:00One hour.
47:01Oh.
47:02One hour.
47:05How's it going?
47:06All good.
47:06It's actually nicely.
47:08Great.
47:09So Isla can come along.
47:10Pull out the drawer.
47:11There you go.
47:12Out the drawer.
47:13Now she has her own
47:14dedicated workshop
47:15that gives her
47:17massive independence.
47:18Ah.
47:19How did it go out there,
47:21Steve?
47:22Stacey's bedroom,
47:23complete.
47:23Thank you, darling.
47:29I know how much
47:30hard work everyone's
47:31put in.
47:32And it's on their
47:34love and their care
47:35for all of this
47:36and for Isla.
47:37But we need to just
47:38be the like,
47:38mwah,
47:39on top of everything.
47:42I love it.
47:43Hello.
47:59How are you?
48:00Good.
48:01How are you feeling, Isla?
48:03Nervous.
48:03Are you nervous?
48:04Yeah.
48:05All of this time
48:06you've been hoping
48:06for the house
48:07that you needed.
48:08It's about to happen.
48:09I just can't wait
48:10to see it.
48:11Okay, eyes down,
48:12please.
48:12And walking with me.
48:15When we arrived
48:16eight days ago,
48:17the house did nothing
48:18to support Isla's needs.
48:21A tiny bedroom
48:22packed with medical
48:23equipment meant
48:24she was sharing
48:24a bed with mum,
48:25Stacey.
48:27Door handles,
48:28light switches,
48:29all completely
48:30out of reach.
48:32And a serious
48:33lack of storage
48:34meant the family
48:34had nowhere to relax
48:35and safely spend
48:37time together.
48:41Now the house
48:42is unrecognisable.
48:44We built an extension
48:45which has become
48:46a calm and cosy
48:47living room
48:47located off
48:48a modern kitchen
48:49diner.
48:52Big sister Paige
48:54is a new bedroom
48:54downstairs,
48:55her very own
48:56quiet haven.
48:59And a double
49:00height handrail
49:00means the stairs
49:01are now safer
49:02for Isla
49:03to get to
49:04her gorgeous
49:04new bedroom.
49:07And the secret
49:08door will give
49:09mum, Stacey,
49:10added peace of mind.
49:14Her bedroom
49:14is now a luxurious
49:16retreat,
49:17complete with
49:17dressing rooms.
49:20And the old
49:21bathroom has been
49:21replaced with a
49:22top-of-the-range
49:23accessible shower room
49:24and it finally
49:25speaks English,
49:26not French.
49:29although the
49:32bespoke nature
49:32of this build
49:33has been a
49:33challenge,
49:34it is the place
49:35where Isla,
49:36Paige and
49:36Stacey dreamed
49:37of making
49:38memories together.
49:39Eyes closed
49:39and turn around
49:41with me.
49:42I just hope
49:42we've built
49:43them a home
49:43where they can
49:44do just that.
49:50Open your eyes.
49:51Oh, my God,
49:55it's stunning.
50:04Are you OK?
50:10Look at all the pictures.
50:13Oh, maybe your
50:14heart's pounding.
50:15We knew how
50:17important a photo
50:17wall was for you.
50:19I absolutely
50:19love it.
50:21If it was just
50:21this, I wouldn't
50:22be happy.
50:23It's absolutely
50:24stunning.
50:26Oh, my God.
50:28Give it a pull.
50:29Pull away.
50:31Do you know
50:32what that is?
50:33That's your
50:33worktop, so you
50:34can actually help
50:35mummy when you're
50:35cooking.
50:37You can make
50:37your own cereal,
50:39do your own
50:39drink.
50:40Do you want to
50:40climb up on there?
50:41Good.
50:44And if you put
50:44your feet around
50:45the front of it,
50:46that one's got a
50:46little footrest down
50:47there.
50:48So that's your
50:49chair, then?
50:51I've just noticed
50:52the door handle.
50:54What's going on?
50:56And I'm crying.
50:58Just on the other
50:58wall, they all find
50:59some switches.
51:00But you switch all
51:00of them off.
51:02And all back on
51:02again, please.
51:05Oi.
51:07That was much
51:08easier, was that?
51:09I love it.
51:10Then?
51:11Oh, my gosh.
51:17Can you see that
51:18little grey button
51:19on the side there?
51:20Can you press down
51:21on that,
51:21pour me, please?
51:25You can brush your teeth
51:26without standing
51:27on a little stone.
51:30If you look over
51:31there, there's
51:31another little thing.
51:32Rise and fall
51:33bath.
51:34The difference
51:35that that's going
51:35to make.
51:36My back feels
51:37loads better just
51:38looking at her.
51:40OK, Mark's
51:4010 out of 10.
51:41Infinity.
51:44Wow, you can't
51:44say further than that.
51:46It's an infinity sign.
51:47Is it?
51:49Go on, press the
51:50wall in front of you.
51:51Does it push it?
51:52Press it, give it
51:52and let go.
51:53And now pull it.
51:56Oh!
51:56If you go around
52:04and just go up
52:05a few stairs,
52:06you'll notice
52:06you haven't got
52:06one handrail.
52:08Oh, yeah.
52:10You just look so tall
52:13because obviously
52:14everything's in proportion
52:15to her.
52:17I love it.
52:19Oh, my gosh,
52:25I love it.
52:26Look at your bed.
52:29That is me and you.
52:32Look at these.
52:34Do you like them?
52:35Yeah.
52:37What does the remote do?
52:40There you go.
52:42Rise and fall.
52:43Are you comfy there?
52:53Are you ready
52:54to see your room?
52:55Yes.
52:56In your head.
52:59Oh, my God.
53:03Wow.
53:05I feel a bit
53:05bougie.
53:08I love it.
53:09It's really, really
53:12important for you
53:14to be able to
53:15recharge your batteries
53:16but those moments
53:17where you need
53:17a little moment
53:18to yourself,
53:18you can come in here
53:19and I know
53:20what you'll be thinking.
53:21You'll be thinking,
53:22I've got to keep
53:23an eye on the kids.
53:24Do you hang on there
53:25a second?
53:29Isla,
53:29can you see
53:29this little handle here?
53:30Yeah.
53:30Can you give that
53:31a pull, please?
53:36Oh, my gosh.
53:37Shall I have a look?
53:39Do you like
53:42one's bedroom?
53:43When it closes,
53:44secret door.
53:46Secret door.
53:47Secret door.
53:48I forgot
53:48Paige's room.
53:50Paige's room?
53:51Yeah.
53:52Oh, yeah,
53:52I've forgotten about that.
53:54Oh, my gosh.
54:01I wish you love it.
54:03Oh, my gosh,
54:03so much.
54:04Obviously somewhere
54:05to do your homework.
54:06Yes.
54:07It's crazy.
54:08You deserve it so much.
54:11Come here.
54:12Don't get upset.
54:14Everybody that was
54:15building this
54:16knows that you
54:17deserve something,
54:17Paige.
54:18Everybody was determined
54:19to give you
54:20a beautiful room
54:20and also a place
54:22where you could come
54:22and be on your own,
54:23too,
54:23if you want to be.
54:26Shall we go
54:27and have a look
54:27at the garden?
54:28Look at the garden.
54:29The garden had become tired
54:31and was difficult
54:32for Isla to access.
54:35But now it's
54:37a welcoming space
54:38with flower beds
54:39filled with sensory plants
54:40and flowers
54:41the family can enjoy
54:42all year round.
54:43Oh, absolutely stunning.
54:54How easy it is for us.
54:56Now, the point being
54:56that you can be
54:57in there cooking
54:58and you can see them
54:59in the garden
55:00or you can be sitting
55:01there reading the book
55:01or watching TV
55:02and you can still
55:03see them in the garden.
55:04You like it?
55:11Isn't it cool?
55:12Yeah.
55:13I love sitting outside.
55:15But, excuse you.
55:18So, what do we think?
55:22Infinity.
55:23That's how good it is.
55:24Infinity good.
55:26Isla now has
55:28her infinity home.
55:29But not one brick of it
55:31would have been possible
55:32without our incredible
55:34army of volunteers.
56:01Thank you is not enough.
56:06That in there
56:07is stunning
56:10watching Isla
56:12be able to walk
56:13around the house
56:14just seeing it.
56:15She looked like
56:16a completely different
56:17person.
56:19She was just
56:20independent
56:20and you've just
56:22achieved everything
56:23that I've always
56:24wanted to do.
56:24So, whose bedroom
56:32is the best?
56:36Any new rules
56:37on your bedroom
56:38page?
56:39Isla's not allowed
56:39in it.
56:42Our future now
56:43is going to be
