00:00Sam, we've obviously seen sportsbooks and networks or leagues partner up for years at this point in time.
00:07But I think as part of that evolution, now you're seeing some next steps.
00:10For instance, the streaming platform, Amazon Prime, has its new rights agreement with the NBA.
00:15It's an 11-year, almost $2 billion per year rights package.
00:20And now the sports betting side is getting involved.
00:23Prime announcing just Tuesday, a couple of days ago, that NBA betting fans will be able to link their FanDuel accounts to Prime profiles directly.
00:33Which is, I mean, kind of crazy to think about having that ability.
00:37It truly is all right there at your fingertips.
00:39And once you're connected, active wagers will appear on screen and update dynamically throughout the broadcast.
00:45Showing progress on parlays, props, straight bets, all of it.
00:49I mean, this is next level picture in picture kind of thing to be able to watch a game and also see your bets tracked there on the side.
00:56I mean, is this just the beginning of where we're going?
00:59Yeah, I would say it's the beginning of kind of the next phase.
01:02We're both old enough to remember when the NBA was one of the main sports leagues that argued against legalizing sports betting.
01:10And now you have NBA broadcasts are going to be able to watch your bet while you watch a broadcast on national television.
01:17It's just crazy to think about the leap we've made from pre-2018 to now 2025, where Amazon's partnering with FanDuel.
01:25Importantly, you can opt out of this.
01:27So it's, you know, people who are annoyed or pissed off by having more betting being involved in sports.
01:32You don't have to see this if you don't want to.
01:35You also don't have to have a FanDuel account to see this stuff, too.
01:37Maybe you're just interested in the betting integrations as a way to follow the game more.
01:43But yeah, I would say this is only the start of these kinds of partnerships.
01:45It's the thing that's been talked about for a while since sports betting was legalized is when we're going to have more of that integration between how we watch the game and actively betting.
01:54Encouraging fans to, you know, hey, you're watching the action go on.
01:57Let's, you know, let's place a bet on it.
01:59Let's get you more involved.
02:00That's what sports books really want at the end of the day.
02:02It's just foster more of that connection, more of that feeling like you're in the game.
02:06So you're kind of, you know, more prone to placing money on it as well.
02:09So it'll be interesting to see how this evolves throughout the season.
02:12It's the first of its kind in any league.
02:13It'll be interesting to see, you know, if we're successful here, if this goes to the NFL, the MLB, and just how far we're willing to go, or media companies themselves are willing to go embracing sports books, embracing the money.
02:26We'll see what the returns are like for FanDuel, if it's a worthwhile deal.
02:29You know, in the past, we've seen other sports books shed these kinds of deals.
02:32So FanDuel kind of going against the grain here.
02:33But it should be really interesting, especially with, you know, obviously Prime doing the NBA for the first time ever this season.
02:39They're obviously making betting a big component of it.
