00:07and he is the uh he is the host uh of cbs mornings and of course uh on the panel nfl today on cbs

00:15nate burleson joins us right now nate good morning good morning what's going on baby

00:22round of applause for nate over there oh man thank you so much y'all make me feel special

00:28how many times when you were playing with wiggy and practice locker room wherever

00:34did you have to leave mid-story because it was going on too long

00:38no listen wigs got stories for days but one thing i know about them is that all of the stories are

00:46true as the kids say there's a lot of cap out there and wigs is always telling the truth by the

00:52way great drip last night if i could be so cool oh my god that suit the shoes who makes the shoes

00:58uh my shoes were a mark nolan a little something to soft it up this is my first time here so i

01:05really wanted to you know show up and match the energy and the vibe of the weekend um listen there's

01:10a lot of fancy cars me and wigs we was over there looking at a few and i got a little bit of money

01:15but i'm gonna need straight hand money to buy some of these vehicles but nate's always had drip though

01:21nate has always been one of them dudes has always had drip so you need the you need the brady money

01:26for that nate nah that's a fact no doubt about it did you get at did you get at did you get asked to

01:33play uh flag football with uh tom brady in the middle east oh my goodness i heard about that what

01:40was the number again for him to go play flag football 75 million maybe that's the speculation

01:45that's being thrown about jeez that's next level paper now i didn't you know i'll i'll stay over

01:53here and play flag football with my kids yeah i'll go over there for about five grand

01:59all right so so nate um we do beat the geek with our guy shine and uh you and i were discussing we

02:07discussed this briefly last night shine is uh one of these guys who uh spends a lot of time on the

02:13all 22s uh looking at film uh and uh oftentimes feels that he is better uh better equipped uh to

02:23analyze the game than those like yourself who played it uh right right shine say hello to nate if you

02:29what's going on nate how are you yeah i can tell you're coffee by the sound of your voice

02:34i mean i forced i forced rob ninkovich to apologize to me so i have a decent track record here

02:40yeah i don't like the side of the bed that you woke up on right now i'm not feeling you but let's do

02:45this all right let's get it i i don't want to interrupt this i just want to say it's amazing for

02:50as much as wiggy talks he is so modest when it comes to the relationships he's built over the years

02:56like last night from afar seeing nate and wiggy talk out for like 30 minutes about everything and

03:02smiling it's just he's lived like 10 lifetimes and you won't meet someone who doesn't like wiggy

03:07no everybody loves wigs well i mean if nate really cared he'd get you on uh nfl today that's right

03:12hey i don't need it i know i know we uh we i we have um boomer on and boomer uh you know nater

03:18has nothing but great things to say nate's doing his thing i'd love to see my my my brother doing

03:23this thing that's all i care about yeah and let me say this let me say i know y'all know this

03:27you know before the listeners because sometimes when we're in media for so long people forget

03:31that one we played and played at a high level wigs was obviously a tight end but he was more of a

03:39he's more of a wide receiver that played the tight end position one of the best route runners and one

03:44and a set of hands that would catch anything in big clutch moments i mean listen the the the name

03:52is it's fitting you know wigs wiggy wig wig but he also had that wiggle on the football field so

03:57like i just want to put that out there for those who don't know my man was the absolute beast you

04:02know all all the the the jokes aside like when he was on the football field and put them pads on

04:08we all knew we can count on him especially in the big moments by the way i think i noticed last night

04:13that you must have listened to some of the the criticism and uh got rid of the sideburns a little bit

04:19yeah you know we had an old school episode you know we had brent musburger on and uh i actually

04:25shaved my beard to have the old school pork chop sideburns and there was a few people that told me

04:31that wasn't a good look a couple of my friends that didn't know we had a scene going on in the pregame

04:35text me during the show and was like hey do you need to go to therapy do you need to talk like what's

04:40going on with you so i went with the clean shaving i'm gonna grow my beard back i loved it i loved it

04:45because that's my guy if i could be 25 years old i would have been 25 years old in the 70s

04:5070s i loved it hey wigs i feel you bro hey 70s and 80s that is my era hey we we we we at no i don't

04:59think we would have survived it's good that we were you know pinky ring coke nail and um pants that was

05:06my area okay nate is on a network wiggy my bad my bad my bad uh all right nate um we got four games

05:16you uv shine your opportunity to beat the geek uh in london vikings browns

05:22in london vikings browns i'm picking the game yep i'm going with the grounds on this one i just like

05:32what their defense has been doing and eventually they're going to figure it out and also they named

05:36the uh the young fella the starter so i just feel like when you get a young guy in the lineup it

05:41allows it forces everybody else to step their game up kind of like what we saw with the giants

05:46and jackson dart so i'm going with the browns yeah for me i'm i'm going to take the vikings here i'll

05:52take the uh brian flores led defense against the rookie quarterback overseas i'll take the vikings all

05:57day okay all right uh lions bangles oh man this is detroit lions all day man this is going to be a

06:06smoke show uh these dudes are going to put it on the bangles listen i appreciate the effort that

06:11jake brownie put out there when uh joe burrow went down but what we've seen recently is that they just

06:16they're not gelling when you see jamar chase on the sideline getting into it with his coach

06:20that's a sign that things aren't working out and the lions after getting beat up on in week one by the

06:26packers they have retooled reset rebooted and they're going to be one of the best the best

06:31teams shot i'm also taking the lions here i will take the team that gave nate the most targets he

06:37ever had in a single season in his career kiss ah i like what you did there hey don't try to fluff

06:45my pillow man this is a competition i don't like you right now oh sorry sorry sorry yeah yeah my bad

06:49my bad uh tampa bay seattle

06:51man this is a tough one i'm starting to see sam donald really figure it out everybody wanted him

07:00to pick up where he left off last year with the vikings but it takes a little time when you're on a

07:04new team and running a new offense with new guys um but at the same time you know baker mayfield has

07:09been playing well the injury of mike evans concerned me a bit so this is tough i'm gonna go with

07:15seattle my former team yeah i uh unfortunately me and nate on the same wavelength here i will take

07:20the team that gave him that he had the least amount of yards in a single season on that would

07:24be the seattle seahawks okay and then the one that means the most to us sunday night pats bills

07:31nate burleson sunday night patch bills drake may starting to figure it out they're playing good on

07:38all levels uh marcus jones with the big return so it's like offense defense special teams all stepping

07:44up i know they're two and two but we've seen some glimpses and last week wasn't just a big win

07:48you know as we talk about all the time you're supposed to win the games that you're supposed

07:51to win and win them emphatically that was a big statement even though it was against the panthers

07:56i like i like what i see and the patriots listen sunday night can they go steal one yes will it be a

08:04victory yes and will it be a message in a shot to the afc basically warning everybody that the

08:11patriots are here i might go with this one as my upset of the week i'm going to patriots wow

08:16all right how about that shine that takes some nuts uh i will not be doing that uh cover me in

08:24zubaz i'm taking the bills oh god all right well uh nate how what's your uh first impression of

08:33newport i think you said first time here right no no this is my my third time here first time at

08:39the event but i'm loving it man i remember when i drove up here with the family i'm from seattle

08:44so i had no idea like it was a vibe out here so i i took the drive with the family we got in the

08:51hotel we got on the water i've seen some some uh b.a.b some big ass boats and i'm like yo there's

08:58some money out here and they were like yeah you see that uh that castle on the hill that's uh

09:04jay littles or see that boat over there that's judge judy's i was like yo this is like the

09:09hidden secret so um so yeah i'm really feeling it man it's good vibe good people good food um yeah

09:15this is one of those places that i'll continue to come back to because it's a quick ride

09:48one thing wig has told us about and it came true he always mentions the wiggle yeah that's it that's

09:54it started with uh burleson and moss and culpepper on the vikings i've won a few bmw awards

09:59um in my nfl career and if that bmw is body made wrong i've won for a few of those but one thing

10:07no denying and i would always say you're getting whooped by a bmw because you weren't able to cover

10:13me i was able to make guys miss and get open with my wiggle that's it you know where you know

10:20interesting point where i got the nickname wiggle from you're gonna love this probably your last name

10:24no no no no no here's his story so i'm walking in the mall um in indianapolis i'm walking down the

10:33mall chilling hanging out and i hear yo wiggle i'm looking around yo wiggle and i and i look

10:40and i see edrin james and i see edrin james i remember the story with you know his dreads and

10:46everything he was like yo what up bigger what up and i was like oh god slow motion baby you know

10:51just chilling it was w he didn't say the other yeah yeah well i don't want to lose the license

11:00it was edrin james yeah man he he called me down when i was down there and um all right listen nate

11:07picks the pats yeah that's shocking huh that's a shocking especially if they don't have milton

11:13williams yeah yeah but he said he said he likes the what they're doing i you know that's uh you

11:19know what no we'll find out all right he better keep that same energy on sunday when he's picking

11:24uh on on nfl today yeah he said that was his upset of the week yeah i love it i don't know
