00:00This one that came up yesterday did surprise me a little bit.
00:03Daniel Jones has been named the starting quarterback here for the Indianapolis Colts.
00:06And if we were looking, Joe, at the odds market just a few weeks ago,
00:09like a week and a half ago, heavily skewed and heavily favored
00:13to obviously the backup quarterback now, who is Richardson.
00:16But Richardson obviously isn't performing up to capabilities
00:19because you didn't get beat out by an aging Aaron Rodgers.
00:24Like, hey, man, I can live with this.
00:25In aging Joe Flacco, you get Daniel Jones, who doesn't do anything spectacular.
00:31Like, if you look at his Giants career, Yeoman's work for the most part.
00:34But as he got later, he could almost, you know, agree that he was better
00:38as like a rookie in a second year than he was later in his career.
00:41Doesn't throw the football downfield.
00:42Doesn't make good decisions at this point.
00:44But he beat out Anthony Richardson.
00:46Joe, I can't.
00:47I am confused about the Colts right now.
00:51Well, you know, part of me is like, all right,
00:54we got a few things working here, right, Donnie?
00:57That could really be a whole lot of fun.
00:59Number one, suppose he has the best year of his career
01:03because maybe he's finally got some stability in a offense
01:08and a head coach and an offensive coordinator.
01:11Something, by the way, he never had with the Giants
01:14from the minute he was drafted number six in 2019 overall.
01:19So maybe, just maybe, he shows he can actually hold the fort down
01:24and win a few games here for Shane Steichen.
01:27The other thing is, they should have done this the minute they drafted Richardson,
01:32what, three years ago, Donnie, two years ago?
01:35He should have been on the bench learning the game behind a guy like Danny Dimes.
01:41I think they didn't do him any favors starting him the last couple of years,
01:45getting hurt.
01:45He wasn't ready to be an NFL quarterback and a leader among men in that locker room
01:50after one year at Florida.
01:53This is exactly the path they should have took two years ago,
01:57but now that's what, he's only 23, Donnie.
02:00I mean, they're not getting rid of him.
02:03He's only 23.
02:04This is exactly what they should do to calm the situation down.
