00:10how you doing i'm uh i'm looking at the hollywood hills and i'm thinking i need to like give fantasy

00:16advice because people want to know whether they need to bench mccaffrey if he's so bad right

00:20nah stardom yeah he's gonna get 100 targets tonight exactly may run the ball for two yards

00:25but whatever whatever enough point there you go i mean i know all three of us have lost a step but

00:32but what's your i tell you cam how's christian i ran on the beach today how do you know i lost a step

00:39now christian looks christian looks um well he hasn't broken it so how do we know that he lost

00:45the step let's see if he can break away and then you determine his speed i think he um there haven't

00:51been many lanes for him and he's not like the frank gore he's going to burrow his way through

00:56a tiny sliver in between the tackles um they just don't seem like they've they haven't opened things

01:02up quite well for him i think there's honestly there's only been like one or two plays where

01:06you could from my press box point of view where you can see a lane and like obviously he sees things

01:11way better than i do because he's ground level but i i'm not i don't think that's the issue guys

01:16right now is i mean he's honestly the only reliable guy on offense and he's not running

01:21the ball but that's that's a whole team issue than just a christian mccaffrey issue and you look

01:26at the overall team issue running it how much of that is being hampered by the fact that they can't

01:31throw it and so defenses are able to crowd the line of scrimmage and make the 49ers really one

01:36dimensional well i think what we need to actually look at is the fact that george kittle's been

01:42essentially out for the last four games and they only played the first quarter

01:45and everybody knows how important george is and loves run blocking they know how he is as a

01:51receiver getting in the open field and running through guys the tight end they have have done

01:55okay catching the ball but they're not like getting a lot of yards after the catch although uh you know

01:59jake tongas did for their last touchdown last game but it's like you miss kittle's presence on the field

02:04and he fires up everybody um the fact that they have a healthy trent williams i guess he's still healthy

02:11remember a couple games ago it was iffy whether he was going to play in new orleans

02:14um and mccaffrey then their offense should be doing better um but they don't have iu they're not

02:20going to have pierce all tonight they're not going to have juan james tonight not going to have purdy

02:24tonight um what they're going to need is they're going to need that defense to somehow rattle matthew

02:29stafford and get some interceptions ham inman is with us at sofi in la as we get ready for niners and

02:36rams hey can we talk a little bit more about george kittle i'm kind of nervous with the lack of

02:42discussion that i've heard um with regard to how he's doing coming back he's eligible the next time

02:48they play are are we expecting him to play in a week and a half it's a it's a it's a good question

02:54that we don't know the answer to because usually the week before a guy comes back they would practice

03:00the week prior and this week they didn't practice because it's a short week they had a walk-through

03:04practice two nights ago on the device that we got to watch for about three minutes um but george has been

03:09around and i think that's a positive sign and you know he he i don't know how the hamstring is i don't

03:17i don't get a sense that it's a serious major oh he ain't coming back for another month or two

03:22um deal so that really is the mystery and you know what i think the other mystery was iuk because iuk is

03:28eligible to come back and everybody's like oh he's not going to come back right away because that was a

03:33serious knee injury but he's been like jonesing to get out there uh we've seen him running with the

03:37wide receivers basically the last month and a half two months but they're not giving him a timetable

03:42um so they are slow rolling him and so i wouldn't be surprised if like they like slow roll kittle for

03:48another week because he's got to get a weekend of practice but maybe not because george is in his

03:53ninth year he knows his body he's in good shape he came was great shape all throughout camp and then

03:59a hamstring took him out of the first quarter so uh i think that really is a big issue offensively

04:04with him not being there while we're in the blue tent cam do we know the severity of the

04:09pierce all and the jennings injuries the thing with pierce all that has got to worry all of us

04:15is he used the word instability after the game on sunday yep and uh that is that is a uh that is it

04:22that is a red flag word but you know i saw him walking around the locker room on tuesday so it's not

04:27like he's in a brace or immobilized um so that's a positive so uh he bounced it was the other knee

04:34too the previous knee or the previous week you heard his knee landed hard on it so my guess is

04:39like he's just working through it the sprain and this is you know playing on astroturf uh here at

04:44synthetic turf and sofi it's not the great surface when you have a leg injury and jennings has an ankle

04:50injury dating back to new orleans and he hurt his ribs with the mariachi crunch on the two-point

04:55conversion last week so it's not i mean jennings has barely practiced with this team and barely

05:01played so you know that that all factors into the offense that's why there's it's going to be weird

05:07how they play tonight because if mccaffrey's just you know getting double teamed everybody's just

05:12watching and then somebody's going to have to step up to help the offense go um cam with the second

05:18week of practice now under his belt does the snap count go up for demarcus robinson and does he sort

05:24of act as the one tonight i think he has to um he came into uh sofi stadium wearing a uh a very

05:35i almost say like a gold glittery suit so i think he knows he's in hollywood on the spotlight let's go

05:40um hey man the guy looked really good through camp he did look like a starting caliber wide receiver

05:45probably because he and pierce were the only ones that were out there in camp but um you know they

05:51they limited his snaps in sunday's game and because it was his first game back so i think that was kind

05:56of smart so you didn't overdo it so you could play him a lot in this game go to him a lot and they're

06:01going to have to without pierce all um it's it's such a thin wide receiver core it's it's really

06:07alarming so that's why you're going to look at mccaff you're going to look at the tight ends you're

06:11going to look at demarcus robinson and and uh and hope that mac jones uh has some magic in them

06:17speaking of robinson's and limited snap counts brian robinson jr 10 snaps last week he's only

06:25played 50 snaps on offense the whole season what do you think the story is cam as to why

06:30he doesn't get more opportunity i think it's more of a reflection of christian mccaffrey than

06:37brian robinson they i mean they historically can't get mccaffrey off the field and that's what it is

06:43and i don't think brian robinson's looked great i don't think he deserves like a ton more

06:48opportunities he's essentially and you know when they traded for him everybody's like oh it's gonna

06:51be a 200 monster no chance in heck this is mccaffrey's offense and robinson's there uh to spell him when

06:58needed and if he needs a breather and if he gets hurt because he has the experience now honestly

07:04tonight i would have loved for them like to throw a surprise element and throw uh jordan james out there

07:09the rookie from oregon because he you know he hurt his hand in camp and but he's a different type

07:14runner um obviously they don't like isaac arendo much because he doesn't get any snaps on offense

07:19anymore and barely does anything well on kick returns um but it's a it's like i said it's mccaffrey's

07:25offense it's not brian robinson's hey cam when you look at this i i just want you know come on let's

07:31just talk as uh as adults here what kind of chance do you give them

07:35uh you a chance to win yeah that's an nfl team isn't it if if they do win this would be you know

07:48further validate validation that kyle shanahan has some kind of hex over sean mcveigh and games

07:53where the big underdogs like back in the day um i i think that's what you got to go for is that

07:59these coaches are going to out scheme the rams and somehow pull it off and have the ball bounce their

08:04way um you know i mean that's why there's gambling exists this isn't all automatic and robotic but i

08:09will tell you this like coming down here i i go i had this creepy feeling that remember last year when

08:15they didn't have purdy and green bay and then they go to buffalo these back-to-back road games and you

08:20just knew they were going to lose those games yep um i have that same feeling going into this but the

08:25only thing that's like the hesitation is shanahan knows what it's like to face rams he's had a lot of

08:32success against rams they got swept last year by them they lost a meaningless game at the end of the

08:372023 season but um it is a rivalry game and there are a lot of niner fans here uh they're all piling

08:43in the sea of red will be here again even though guys are selling their tickets because uh the junior

08:47varsity is going to be on the field but um you still got trans williams mcafree fred i mean fred warner

08:52uh i posted on twitter fred came wearing his brother troy's usfl memphis showboats yellow jersey

09:01and um richard sherman was in the outside the 49er locker room because he's here for amazon primes

09:07uh crew and sherm loved the shirt said way to what nice tribute for the brother uh so fred's fred's

09:13going to try to show out diamito or nor he's a los angeles guy he'll try to show out mcafree

09:18uh his offseason home's 15 minutes from here up in the hollywood hills so i think there's a lot of

09:24pride that the guys that are going to be in uniform are going to try to pull off an upset and

09:28you know that's the beauty of sports is if the niners escape here with a win they're four and run

09:33and three and oh in the division you're listening to 95 7 the game kgmz fm and hd1 san francisco

09:47niners defense so far through four games last week no qb hits no sacks and they're yet to have

09:53an interception other than the one that got taken away last weekend what have you thought about the

09:57defense so far you paint such a dark picture of this defense dibs yeah i just laid out facts cam i

10:04apologize if the facts disturb you i did i hey i did too the other day saying all of solid words took all

10:10the uh attention away from the fact that last game they had like you just said no sacks no hits no

10:14takeaways uh no interceptions not good um but the first three games i thought was very surprising

10:21because nobody was lighting up this defense that has a lot of new pieces in place and it's not just

10:27like everybody expected like five rookies were going to start on defense no that's not the case

10:31um they're rotating some rookies in um some guy like nick martin is not playing again tonight so he's

10:37a healthy scratch through uh five games here um but michael williams alfred collins cj west gonna play

10:45tonight with a cast on his thumb um i thought they've done better than expected but without bosa

10:53i mean that robert saw has got it like he's gonna have to blitz he's got to have to do something just

10:59to keep the rams off balance because you know nick is not that like everybody wants nick bosa to have

11:05three sacks a game and be a tj watt and he's getting paid like it but what nick did really

11:10well was he set the edge in the run was very uh relentless on every play and i don't sense that

11:16from anybody else on the defensive front and they're going to need all those guys that stepped up they

11:21brought in trevis gibson from um the practice squad this guy is he's fast and smaller defensive

11:28end so i'm really curious to see if he enhances that pass rush because they sure as heck need it and

11:33so he replaces robert beal in that rotation and i so keep an eye on him um because seeing him come

11:40in fast off the edge opposite bryce up then that's the only way they're going to probably get the huff

11:44i mean to get to matthew stafford unless they're what's in uh upton stout from the uh from the slot

11:49and train that somebody else can cover puka cam inman bay area news group all over the niners and down

11:54at sofi tonight for niners rams all right so cam do we have to wait the whole month of october for them

12:00to make this defensive line acquisition that we know they're going to make

12:03i i i i don't know i i don't i don't think it's so simple that they would go out and get troy

12:12hendrickson right uh trey hendrickson i just they traded for bryce huff right it's like okay was that

12:19their one defensive line trade if they're in contention then yes you have to wait they're not

12:25going to make that move while they're what three and three and three or four and four they have to

12:31be have only maybe two or three losses to say all right we're in good situation to win the division

12:36let's go get that piece because if they're back if they fall out to fall down to about a 500 team

12:41they're not going to make that trade but they did back when they got mccaffrey as you recall they

12:47were four and four after not being able to run it against atlanta and at that point they made the move

12:52so do you think it's they did do you think it's relying on the record is it more just an eye test

12:56thing if you'll recall going back to that mccaffrey trade i was on record saying i did not expect it

13:03to happen so yeah i mean it worked out so well for them that they were able to outbid the rams to get

13:09him and uh i think it just it was it was a perfect sweet spot because he is exactly what this offense

13:16needed um defensive line obviously needs another defensive end that has a presence to him um but

13:24it's not an every down position i don't know how much they want to mortgage their draft picks because

13:29this year's been all about the youth and spending your money elsewhere so that's why i say they have

13:36to be have a really strong record if they go after him um because the rest of the nfc west looks like

13:43they have a really good record right i mean the rams and the seahawks are both three and one the

13:47cardinals are two and two um i mean it i guess we have a month of uh stuff to talk about on 95.7

13:54the game and uh and you can let your trade talks continue that's correct and actually we're going

13:59to continue it right now because i'm like my next question would be what if it's not trey hendrickson

14:04what if there's someone that's gonna be jonathan it'll be jonathan kaminga well there you go

14:08jonathan kaminga defensive end you know he doesn't fit on the warriors maybe he'll fit on the 49ers

14:14uh there's guys out there like the beauty of it is i mean that it's like just like don't focus in

14:21on one guy because other teams are looking at that guy too right like other people are going to outbid

14:25the niners for the most part probably um but it's a it's a rental because you're going to have to pay

14:31that guy a ton of money and it's like i wouldn't be opposed to it because both are going to be coming

14:36off like that's a really serious injury right it's it's an ace it's gonna it's his acl and

14:41he's done it before he's come back from it but you know bryce huss not long term so i'm gonna be

14:46opposed to them going and getting him but they're gonna have to scour and find guys um and but again

14:52like it's it's it's more of a youth movement defense that they got going um cam do you have a

14:57finger on the pulse at all on on where the brock purdy thing sits like what does the organization

15:03want to do do you think he plays in tampa it's a good question i don't know but what i did like

15:11to hear from brock the other day was he said it does not feel as bad as it did after seattle okay

15:18so he aggravated it sure and it was sore and he's smart not playing in this game against a very good

15:25defensive front where he'd be under pressure on artificial turf right um so i think the fact that

15:31he didn't aggravate it to the point where it's like oh he really tore it apart i mean i've seen

15:35walk around i've seen i've seen the toe gentlemen i saw that toe in new orleans and it was not

15:40discolored so i was like okay it's not like um it doesn't look like a career render or something like

15:46that which a turf toe can be i don't think people realize that but i think they they're smart to sit

15:51him out this week i think and i get it why you played him last week it's like he was feeling better

15:55he practiced he wanted to like test it out and obviously it didn't work out well and it wasn't

16:00just brock there were so many parts about that game about this team that's not good yet so um

16:07will we play next week i don't know we're gonna have to send me was mac jones gonna be healthy

16:11enough to play next week it seems like every week they got to check their quarterback's health and see

16:15who's healthy enough to play because mac wasn't mac was dealing with a serious knee injury last week

16:19he's got um i don't know if everybody's paying attention to mac jones's suit game but uh he came

16:25in with a the black and red uh like checkerboard you know it looks kind of funky um and and we had

16:32fun in the media with mac i think it was last week or the week before about he had like 50 suits

16:36and um so when he was coming off the press conference this week i go so mac nobody asked but

16:42you know we're all asking about your attire i go how many knee braces do you own so i can report

16:47exclusively here that mac jones owns five different knee braces he arrived with the 49ers

16:53with three so he's added two to the arsenal and i'm sure that one will be on his knee tonight

16:57there you go there it is all right well uh cam in and on the scene and uh who knows maybe they'll

17:04surprise us tonight huh who knows thank you cam all right thanks guys have a good night enjoy the game
