00:00There's the ability to scale, which you would well know in the tech sector in Canada has been a persistent challenge.
00:04I mean, you've got China is going to spend $100 billion U.S. on AI this year.
00:09In Silicon Valley, you've got Meta alone, $120 billion.
00:13I mean, we may have first-mover advantage, but that kind of capital isn't here.
00:16So how do you compete there?
00:17So, first of all, it's a fiercely competitive space.
00:21You're right.
00:21And, you know, what is our goal here?
00:24Remember, our goal is to make sure that this revolution, and we're living through the second technological revolution.
00:31You know, the Internet came, and now here we are at another, you know, just a fantastic moment, a technological revolution, at the same time as a political realignment.
00:40So things are happening quickly.
00:42There's a lot of companies pouring a lot of money in.
00:44But I'll give you an example.
00:45You mentioned China and the United States.
00:48Those countries have these home to two of the large language models.
00:52People say, oh, chat GPT.
00:53Those kind of companies are invented in the U.S.
00:56There's only four countries that have major LLM, large language model companies, that are making, like, the chat GPT and the arthropic.
01:03The U.S., China.
01:05There's one in France.
01:06Right.
01:07And the fourth, right here, Cohere in Canada.
01:10So let's be clear.
01:12We are there.
01:13Our challenge and the mission that I launched last week has two things.
01:19One, AI for everyone to make sure that all Canadians benefit from it.
01:23We keep our jobs, our IP safe, our privacy and data safe.
01:29Canadians have questions about that.
01:31And to make sure that we do it in a timely fashion.
