00:00So Connelly Early is the first ever pitcher

00:03to start a winner-take-all postseason game

00:05within 30 days of making his MLB debut.

00:09That's what he's doing tonight, Keith.

00:12I mean, we saw these guys.

00:13It's amazing how they started the year being like,

00:16all right, we're going to keep all the stud prospects in the minors

00:19with the exception of Christian Campbell

00:23And then he's rookie of the month.

00:25And you're like, hey, look at this.

00:26And then he can't hit anymore or field.

00:29And they send him down to the minors.

00:30We never see him again.

00:31And then for a time, Roman Anthony and Marcello Meyer

00:35are kind of carrying the team.

00:37They both get hurt.

00:38They're not playing.

00:39And then out of nowhere, two guys that were rumored to be

00:42in different trade deadline deals that they keep,

00:45Peyton Tolley and Connelly Early,

00:47end up being factors on this team.

00:49And you see Tolley last night out of the bullpen.

00:52Connelly Early is now the number three starter on the team

00:55because of the Giolito injury.

00:56So a guy that we'd never mentioned all season long

00:59is now the game three starter in a do or die game against the Yankees.

01:03It's crazy.

01:05He's made four starts.

01:06His first one was electric, 11 strikeouts in five innings.

01:10He was awesome.

01:11Against the A's?

01:13Scrappy.

01:14Scrappy A's.

01:15Frisky little lineup over there.

01:16Frisky.

01:17Second start also against the A's.

01:19Was very good in that one.

01:20And then he was much more mortal against the Rays and the Tigers.

01:25Still a 2.33 ERA in 19 and a third innings with 29 strikeouts.

01:30So I don't know.

01:31I don't want to jinx it or anything.

01:33But he is the type of guy that could have himself a pretty magical night.

01:39He's capable of it.

01:39And he's a lefty, which we just thought.

01:42Now, Crochet is next level.

01:43But we just saw what a lefty versus their lefty lineup can look like.

01:47I think that's huge.
