00:00By the way, guessing right for a manager and using that instinctual feel is the difference
00:05between winning and losing, going home and advancing. The reason I bring that up is
00:08yesterday the Padres won three to nothing over the Cubs. I like the Padres in game number one.
00:12They had a lead until they didn't. Maybe they should have pulled their pitcher a little bit
00:15earlier. Yesterday, we talked about it, Joe, in the handicap. Dylan Cease was so boom or bust,
00:20and he was boom yesterday. Five strikeouts over three and two thirds innings pitched,
00:24no earned runs, and a walk giving up three hits. They pull him out. They don't score the rest of
00:29the way, the Chicago Cubs. And by the way, if anybody wants to get up there against Mason
00:32Miller and try to hit him, yeah, good luck with that. 27 pitches, five strikeouts as he worked
00:36an inning and two thirds here. But the reason I bring this up, Joe, one for 11 with runners in
00:40scoring position for the Padres, oh, for three for the Cubs. Now, maybe they deserve to lose that game,
00:45but Kittredge came in the game to open it up, gave up a run. That's not the question.
00:49Show to Imanaga. The question in the ballpark was, hey, look, you probably should get a reliever up
00:53because Manny Ramirez is on deck. They don't do that. Manny came up to the plate, Imanaga pitched to
00:57him, bang, two run, home run, three to nothing league for the Padres yesterday. So credit San
01:02Diego for making the pitching move. And then you take a look at Craig Council, a high paid manager
01:07didn't make the right moves yesterday. Well, and listen, again, we're very similar to the
01:13Guardians in a Tiger series, right? I mean, the Padres have generated more scoring chances through
01:18the first two games, but they're still three for 18 with runners in scoring position. They've left 11
01:24guys on base. And by the way, Chicago, they haven't had as many guys on base. Oh, for six
01:30with runners in scoring position with six guys left on base. So this is not, you know, exactly going to
01:36be an offensive bomb fest here either. The interesting part now is that you just burned two of your high
01:44leverage relievers because you had to yesterday for the Padres, right? They didn't, you know,
01:49Dylan C's got what 11 batters. That's what he faced there. And then they went to their two best
01:55guys to close it down and they advanced. I don't think either of those guys are going to be available
01:59for the Padres, but I can tell you this, Kittredge and Pomerantz, Roger, the guys that have been the
02:07number one bullpen since the all-star break, since the trade deadline, rather the Cubs, all of those guys
02:13are ready to go here. So it wouldn't shock me at all if they're just throwing everything out there
02:19here today. The Padres could be without their two best guys.
