00:00Hello there my dear friends, and welcome back to another very exciting Star Wars video.
00:05It is I coming at you once again, your favourite Galactic hostess, Star Wars Meg.
00:11And today, we are once again returning to the Mandalorian in Grogu trailer,
00:15because some new information has come out, and a few keen-eyed viewers have noticed
00:19some crazy easter eggs, which we have to talk about, and I'm gonna break down.
00:24I'm also gonna be sharing with you a couple of interesting new theories,
00:27so it's gonna be a lot of fun.
00:28Now I have to be candid, I have to be honest with you guys,
00:32I'm not the biggest fan of a couple of these easter eggs.
00:34In fact, I think one of them is pretty stupid, and I really don't know why Disney is doing it.
00:39But before we take a single step into this jam-packed video,
00:42if you've not done so already, please be sure to hit the big subscribe button down below,
00:46ring the bell to be alerted every time that I post a new video,
00:49but no more jibber jabber, let's dive straight in.
00:53So we begin with an easter egg that I think is really strange,
00:56because Disney is marketing something that no longer exists.
01:00So, do you guys remember a couple of days ago,
01:03when I said that Lucasfilm is gonna market Grogu and the Unsellons,
01:06as a real selling point because of their cuteness?
01:09Well say what you want about that, at least it makes sense,
01:12because Disney is looking to sell new toys,
01:14t-shirts, there are gonna be a variety of different merch lines,
01:17coming from this movie,
01:19and even in the parks,
01:20they're doing an interactive experience at Galaxy's Edge,
01:23that connects to the Mansourine and Grogu.
01:25But what if I told you that Disney just plugged in an advert
01:28for the now-defunct Galactic Star Cruiser Hotel?
01:31You could argue they're just trying to commemorate it,
01:34but that's even more peculiar to me,
01:35because the Star Cruiser Hotel was dubbed one of the biggest
01:38Disney Star Wars failures ever.
01:41It was an underwhelming, sequel-centric, overpriced, immersive experience,
01:45and while there were some influencers who were compensated,
01:48flown out, paid for by Disney to say it was great,
01:51the exorbitant price just didn't justify the experience,
01:54and most rational Star Wars fans looked at this and said,
01:57well no wonder it closed.
01:58What's going on? I just popped through that door and I have no way.
02:02But now, in the year 2025,
02:05the Mandalorian and Grogu movie is about to remind us
02:08of the most bizarre wrinkle in recent Lucasfilm history.
02:1236 seconds into the trailer, fans can see a pair of footsteps
02:16walking through a puddle on a mysterious, neon-laden planet,
02:20which, by the way, my friends,
02:21has been confirmed to be Dayu from the Obi-Wan Kenobi show.
02:25In the reflection of the water,
02:27a banner ad for the Halcyon can be seen in the background,
02:31directly referencing the Star Wars Galactic Star Cruiser Hotel.
02:35The scrolling commercial shows the Halcyon ship,
02:38along with the word Halcyon in Urabesh,
02:40seemingly advertising the Star Cruiser Hotel in-universe.
02:44And even though the Star Cruiser is the setting of a real-life hotel,
02:47in the story of Star Wars itself, in-universe,
02:50in Disney Star Wars canon,
02:51it has a long history dating back to the High Republic.
02:54It was a luxury Star Cruiser which we saw in the comics.
02:57Anakin and Padme once travelled aboard the ship,
03:00so did Leia and Han Solo.
03:01So I guess a major question is,
03:03is the Mandalorian and Grogu setting up another story aboard the ship,
03:06this time in live action, on screen?
03:09Not necessarily in this film, but in the Mandoverse more broadly.
03:13Would they really want to do this though,
03:15considering the real-life hotel is now closed?
03:18What's the motive?
03:19It's not going to generate them any money.
03:21So why do it?
03:22And I actually saw a really interesting question from the direct.com.
03:26If the now-defunct Disney World locale has been referenced in the upcoming film,
03:29what is stopping it from incorporating the hotel into the plot?
03:32I honestly don't know why the direct would even suggest this.
03:35I can't see a tangible way the Star Cruiser would fit into the Mandalorian and Grogu's plot,
03:40without just being a throwaway easter egg,
03:42but they're suggesting it could mean something more.
03:45I'm not going to take that seriously,
03:46but if they did do this,
03:48it would be a huge mistake.
03:50I really, really hope they don't go this route.
03:52Now here's what concerns me the most about this.
04:03Forget the fact the hotel was way too expensive.
04:06Your average family that enjoys Star Wars just couldn't afford it.
04:09It was expensive even compared to other Disney hotels,
04:13but it really is the aesthetics that bother me the most.
04:16It didn't have the Star Wars vibe.
04:17It was very cheesy,
04:19and they just tried to pass it off as the so-called most immersive,
04:22impressive Star Wars experience.
04:25Even the most edited, polished commercials for it on YouTube were very cringe,
04:29and everyone was saying,
04:30why did you set this in the sequel trilogy?
04:32Couldn't they have incorporated some fan-favorite planets?
04:35Maybe the Jedi Temple on Coruscant?
04:37Maybe have an experience as a Force user,
04:39where you get to decide if you want to go down a Jedi path,
04:41or a Sith path?
04:42This wasn't catering to most Star Wars fans.
04:45So I hope this isn't what the direct suggested,
04:47that this is going to be part of the story in some way.
04:49I'm hoping it's just a really weird, self-strokey Disney advert
04:53they just threw into the background.
04:55They did something similar in the Kenobi show.
04:57Do you remember the Mickey Mouse ears on Coruscant?
05:00It was in the flashback sequence where
05:01Episode 2, Anakin fights Obi-Wan as they're training.
05:06So maybe it's one of those things that if you notice it, you notice it,
05:08but if you don't, it doesn't impact the story.
05:10But what does is returning to the Obi-Wan planet of Dayu.
05:15Now, maybe I'm overreacting, but I'm really not a fan of this decision.
05:19It's a great example of where they might have cut corners,
05:22and an example of why the movie might end up so cheap.
05:25They're reusing locations from the TV show that looked the least impressive.
05:29And so while I do still remain optimistic,
05:31and while I do think some shots from the trailer were super impressive,
05:34the Ice Planet, Adelphi base,
05:37I'm really worried there's going to be a disparity between
05:39some of the wide shots,
05:41and then those that were filmed in the exact same format as the TV show.
05:44Why Dayu?
05:45Couldn't they have gone to a new planet?
05:47I was hoping this was going to be Nar Shaddaa,
05:49considering there are huts in the movie.
05:51But knowing this is exactly Dayu is kind of concerning.
05:54I said this, I think, just before Skeleton Crew came out.
05:57The Disney Star Wars universe feels very small,
06:00because even when they give us new locations,
06:02they're just another version of planets we know.
06:04Tatooine and Jakku, Starkiller Base and Hoth.
06:07So I'll be honest with you, I don't think this was a good idea,
06:10but not going to write the movie off.
06:11I still think it was a good trailer,
06:13but I guess now we know this planet we've seen before.
06:16I made a joke on Twitter.
06:18Do you think we'll see an older Reaver in the movie?
06:20I really don't think so.
06:22The last time we saw her, years prior to this,
06:25she defected from the Inquisitors on Tatooine.
06:27She had that emotional moment with Obi-Wan,
06:30but I have no idea what Lucasfilm has planned for her.
06:32So now moving on to our next easter egg.
06:36There is a very interesting scene from the trailer
06:38that I didn't break down for a reason.
06:40I was saving it for this video.
06:42I wanted to spend some time thinking about this,
06:44analysing this shot,
06:46and now I've come up with a theory I think you might enjoy.
06:48It might be a tad far-fetched,
06:50it might be me overthinking things,
06:52but as a Star Wars fan, you can dare to dream.
06:54So let's dive straight in.
06:56In this scene,
06:57Din Djarin is infiltrating some kind of underground vault.
07:01Now this is either a vault or a door,
07:03but if you look at the emblem on the front of it,
07:05it's the symbol of the Hutt clan,
07:07which aligns with the appearance of Rotter the Hutt,
07:10as well as the Hutt twins.
07:11Now as we know,
07:13from the rumours,
07:14one of the main missions of the movie is that Din has to capture Rotter,
07:17on behalf of the New Republic.
07:19And I reckon the Hutt might be aligned with the Remnant.
07:22The fall of the Empire and the death of Jabba the Hutt,
07:25left the Hutt cartel in a very strange position.
07:27There was a power vacuum,
07:29and in canon,
07:30much of this has not been explored.
07:32The Hutt's are still very influential in the Outer Rim,
07:35and they still have major influence in the criminal underworld.
07:38But their dealings with the Remnant,
07:39or the New Republic,
07:40are not yet established.
07:42Now here's where my crazy theory comes in.
07:45Let's say the Hutt's are collaborating with the Remnant.
07:47They've got a mutually beneficial relationship,
07:50there's spice involved,
07:51the underworld slave trade,
07:53profit from sporting events like gladiators,
07:55and the New Republic gets word
07:57that the Hutt's are helping to fund the Desperate Remnant.
08:00Because there are rumours that Johnny Coyne's warlord
08:02is the financier of the Shadow Council of the Remnant,
08:05I wonder if Din Djarin is trying to intercept some funds,
08:09ones that were going to advance the Remnant's military.
08:12Regardless, in front of the vault,
08:14there are two bodyguards,
08:15robotic mechanised cyborgs that might be part of this agreement,
08:19security provided by the Imperial Remnant.
08:22And the reason I say this is the one on the right
08:24looked very familiar to me.
08:27It's definitely not the same,
08:28but it reminded me of a creature we saw in Season 3,
08:31but on a different planet.
08:33Some features of this bodyguard
08:34remind me of the Spider-Tank droid from Mandalore.
08:37They are extremely different.
08:39The rustic, industrial, primitive, one-eyed look
08:42makes me think they might have been built by the same group.
08:45I could be way off,
08:46and I don't know if in these bodyguards
08:48there is a sentient creature inside of there,
08:50and it could just be that ILM reinvented a very similar design,
08:53and the one on Mandalore looked more like Grievous,
08:56but it was the first thing I thought of,
08:58and we still have no answers
08:59as to what the Spider-Tank droid was.
09:02So here's what I think.
09:03The Shadow Council built these creatures
09:05to protect and mine for valuable resources
09:08in the minds of certain planets.
09:10Each creature's suit is built for different purposes.
09:13The ones in the trailer look like bodyguards,
09:15but the one from the third season
09:17looks like it was built for purpose.
09:19Adaptive survival in a hostile environment,
09:22and the remnants might have sent it there
09:23after the Night of a Thousand Tears,
09:25built to mine remaining Beskar,
09:27and to kill and take the blood of
09:29any Mandalorians who came back.
09:31But to this day, they've never explained it.
09:33I wonder if these guys are connected.
09:35Even though their build is very different,
09:37they look like they could have been made
09:38by the same manufacturer.
09:40Very impressive robotic cyborgs nonetheless.
09:42And did you notice?
09:44Din Djarin is once again using a pulse rifle.
09:47So those are just a few easter eggs
09:48that I wanted to point out
09:50and discuss with you guys.
09:51But what do you think?
09:52Any thoughts and theories?
09:54Share them down below.
09:55And if you enjoyed this video, my dear friends,
09:57please be sure to give me a big fat thumbs up,
09:59subscribe if you're new,
10:01and may the Force be with you,
10:03always.
