Western Australia's major health unions have banded together after the state's ambulance ramping crisis reached a new unenviable record. Figures reveal ambulances spent more than 7-thousand hours ramped outside hospitals in September putting pressure on the state government to fix the problem.

01:07There's no hospital that's designed to accommodate ramped patients, so we do our best to provide privacy and dignity to our patients.
01:16WA's peak health unions including the Australian Medical Association spruiking their five point plan to relieve ramping pressure, including 400 aged care beds, guaranteed staffing and new emergency department diversion measures including making immunisation a priority.
01:34This is the entire hospital sector asking for an approach to tackling ramping and giving some solutions that are reasonable, that are common sense, that can be implemented.
01:44For the first time all four major health unions are joining forces to demand the state government do more to fix WA's ramping crisis.
01:53But the health minister says the government is doing everything it can to avoid a repeat of this winter.
01:59While the government's already planning for next flu season, the ramping crisis appears far from over.
