00:00A new traffic light system showing a lot of red in SA's hospitals.
00:07It's a website where you can enter your postcode and see how your local hospitals are performing.
00:13It's clear from that that South Australian hospitals are under pressure.
00:17Under the Australian Medical Association's new national system, hospitals earn a green smile
00:23if they reach the benchmark of treating 95% of patients on time.
00:27While if that number drops under 84%, they get a red sad face.
00:31Adelaide's hospitals scored smiles for the most urgent cases like resuscitation.
00:36But there's a large amount of red for other areas.
00:39I think right across the country you're seeing increasing pressure on emergency departments and on hospitals.
00:45Here we are seeing a huge investment.
00:48That investment though is still failing to bring down ramping at hospitals.
00:52New figures show ambulances spent a total of 4,134 hours waiting outside emergency departments in March.
01:00That's up 153 hours from February and still more than 1,400 hours higher than when Labor took office in March 2022.
01:09It doesn't matter who you speak to or which data you look at.
01:13Our health system is on its knees here in South Australia
01:16and I think the government's just got to make health a priority again.
01:19The minister says it already is with construction underway on new mental health beds for Flinders Medical Centre.
01:26We've got more beds to come.
01:28So there's much more work to happen in terms of making sure that we've got more beds for people to go into
01:34and construction projects like these are exactly what's needed.
01:37Extra beds seen as a key to remedying a sick system.
