01:48Oh my word
01:50See, it's good
01:51That is seriously creepy
01:53Look at that
01:54Okay
01:55It does still kind of look like a dog
01:57Kind of
01:58But the fur, or lack thereof
02:00Is definitely unusual
02:02And here's the thing
02:03She says that this chupacabra broke into her chicken coop
02:06Killed her chickens
02:07Leaving puncture wounds
02:09And no blood
02:10Okay
02:11A literal bloodsucker
02:12Mmhmm
02:13Okay, so could it be
02:15That this legendary bloodsucking beast
02:18Is on the loose
02:19In Texas?
02:23The chupacabra legend begins on the island of Puerto Rico in 1995
02:28The territory is shocked by a series of disturbing attacks on livestock
02:35Hundreds of goats are killed in the dead of night
02:38The goats are found with two massive puncture wounds to the neck
02:41And their blood completely drained
02:44As rumors of this bloodsucking beast spreads across the island
02:47The locals name the monster chupacabra
02:50Or goat sucker
02:53In 2019 I went to Puerto Rico to investigate the mysterious murders
02:57Oh, my word
03:00Look at this
03:02One, two, three, four chickens
03:04Sweet
03:05And they were in these pens
03:06This was ripped open here
03:07So whatever did this not only ripped back all this wire
03:10But actually bent back the corrugated metal
03:12But since then
03:13Suspected chupacabra attacks have not only continued
03:16They've spread to mainland America
03:19Thousands of chickens, goats and cattle
03:22Have been found dead in Texas
03:24With puncture wounds and their blood drained
03:26Just like in Puerto Rico
03:29There have been possible sightings too
03:31Texans from San Antonio to Houston
03:34Report terrifying, hairless, vicious, four-legged beasts
03:38That are unlike any known canine
03:40In 2010, a woman in Texoma claims she is savagely bitten
03:46After discovering a chupacabra lurking inside her camper
03:51Years later, a family near the town of Victoria
03:54Allegedly shoots and kills one of the animals
03:58After hearing its terrifying howl near their livestock
04:02Experts believe the epicenter of this activity
04:04Is near the small town of Quero, Texas
04:07Where ranchers report seeing the elusive creature
04:10More frequently than anywhere else in the state
04:14But what exactly is the mysterious chupacabra?
04:18Some believe it's a lab experiment that escaped and bred
04:22Others say it's the accelerated evolution of a common predator
04:25Like a wolf or coyote
04:27And one wild theory states this could even be
04:30Some kind of vampiric extraterrestrial
04:33Somehow living on Earth
04:34Is the chupacabra really stalking the Texas Badlands?
04:39And is it still thirsty for blood?
04:47Guys, this is a really compelling case
04:49It's not Puerto Rico
04:50It's an all-new location in Texas
04:53And we might have a real specimen on our hands
04:56And not only that, this is not some ancient legend
04:58These sightings are happening right now
05:01Yeah
05:02And this Texas part may be key to what I think
05:04Could really be happening there
05:06There are wolves, coyotes, feral dogs
05:08All found in this region
05:10And canids can be afflicted by conditions like mange
05:13And rabies that not only drastically alter their appearance
05:16But also can make them behave in very disturbing ways
05:19So, the big question, is it something known?
05:22Or something unknown?
05:23That's what we have to figure out
05:24And to do that, there's a new piece of technology
05:26I think would be perfect for this case
05:28Here, boy
05:34What?
05:35Come on up
05:37Come on up
05:40Phil, what the hell am I looking at?
05:42What is this?
05:43This is a robotic quadruped
05:46And Josh, say shake
05:48Shake?
05:50Right?
05:52Oh my word, what are you gonna do with this thing?
05:54I mean, maybe it takes a dog to catch a dog
05:57This thing has 360 degree laser scanning 3D mapping lidar
06:02It has autonomous AI
06:04And because it's a robot, it has no scent
06:07So it can go places that we can't go
06:09And do it relatively undetected
06:10Relatively undetected
06:11Okay, so Robodog
06:13Yeah
06:14No, no
06:15What?
06:16It needs a way cuter name than that
06:17And can I teach some tricks?
06:19Heather, this is not a toy
06:21This is a scientific investigatory tool
06:24This is a dystopian nightmare
06:26Don't listen to them, you're not a tool
06:27And you're not a dystopian nightmare
06:29Alright you two, time to go walk the dog
06:31See if you can catch a real life chupacabra
06:34And you, down boy
06:35The flight from New York to Austin is four and a half hours
06:41Then it's another two hour drive southeast to the quiet Texas town of Quero
06:46Where Heather's witness claims to have found a chupacabra corpse on her property
06:50This is some real Texas ranch land
06:51So excited
06:53We got the chupacabra and we got Robodog
06:55Hey, you know what would make a good doggy treat for the chupacabra?
06:56What?
06:57Blood sausage
06:58Oh, gosh
06:59Hey, you know what would make a good treat for Robodog?
07:00What?
07:01Double A batteries
07:03You're rubbing off on me, these stupid dad jokes
07:05That wasn't stupid, that was pretty good Heather
07:06That's how I know it was bad
07:07This is it

15:45A nice little snack for you, just in case you want some.
15:51You're set.
15:53All right, come on, RoboDog.
15:59I got a pretty sweet setup here.
16:01I am looking at what RoboDog is looking at.
16:03So I've got a LiDAR scan of everything around him.
16:06I have a live feed from his video camera.
16:07And then on this screen, I actually have a thermal feed.
16:11And not only that, I've got the remote sensors.
16:14So that if anything is heading from the pasture, I'm going to know.
16:18All right, RoboDog, you got my back?
16:22Okay, activating autonomous patrol.
16:27Be careful out there, RoboDog.
16:29Okay, we've made it to the far north end of the decade, which means Heather and the pond and RoboDog are far to the south.
16:49Look down.
16:50Check this out.
16:50This is a heavily used game trail going straight into it.
16:55So I figured if I move in kind of a zigzag pattern, I might be able to flush anything towards Heather.
17:01I'm going to get out the flare.
17:03It should help us see through the dense brush much further.
17:07So far in front of us looks clear.
17:15Let's get moving.
17:24RoboDog has a great view of the pond right now and a lot of the shore.
17:27So far, no animals.
17:34He's moving, though.
17:36He's definitely watching my back.
17:45Okay, found clearing.
17:49This would be a good place to ambush prey.
17:54There's not a lot of cover.
17:55Did you hear that?
18:02Can't tell if it was the wind, but it seemed like there was something moving back here.
18:06Let's move slow.
18:08Let's get closer.
18:10I don't want to stare right now.
18:20Right there.
18:22Right there.
18:23There's a hot spot.
18:27Right there.
18:30Just moved off.
18:37Oh, there.
18:38Look at that sheep.
18:45It has a strong arch in its back.
18:49We're just going to move quick and see if we can get eyes on it.
18:51I don't see it on the fleer anymore.
19:13It was right here.
19:16Let me just check this old perimeter.
19:20Oh, oh, oh, look at this.
19:31Look at that.
19:34That looks almost like little claw marks.
19:38Let me get the 3D scanner out there.
19:42As you can see the edge of the pad, it looks like one, two, three, maybe four little claw marks.
19:51Looks like it's heading in that direction, which is south.
19:58That's where Heather is right now.
20:01Heather, Heather, you copy?
20:04Yeah, what's going on?
20:05There was an animal that we just got on the flare that had a hunched back.
20:10It had a hunched back?
20:11Yes.
20:12It is heading due south.
20:14Wait, towards me?
20:15Yes, towards you.
20:17I'm getting closer to your position.
20:19I don't know if you see anything out there, but I'll meet you there.
20:22Copy that.
20:33Phil!
20:36Phil, we've got activity on the motion sensors.
20:39I think you're right.
20:39It's heading my way.
20:41Let's move.
20:41Let's go.
20:41Let's go.
20:47Did you see anything?
20:52No.
20:53The motion sensor just went off.
20:55Right back there?
20:55Yeah.
20:57I think we're going to send RoboDog over there and see if he can pick up anything.
20:59Okay.
21:00Let's do it.
21:03All right.
21:03Let's go get it.
21:04So it's in dominion mode.
21:06Let's check it out.
21:07How far are these motion sensors?
21:18Maybe two, three hundred yards.
21:21All right, RoboDog.
21:23Let's see what you got.
21:25It's getting closer to the trees.
21:26Okay.
21:29Wait.
21:30Over there.
21:31Over there.
21:31Go to the right.
21:32Go to the right a little bit.
21:35Whoa!
21:35Whoa!
21:37That.
21:38What is that?
21:41Oh, my gosh.
21:42It's just right in front of the RoboDog.
21:44Look at that shape.
21:45It has that hunchback.
21:47Just like I saw before.
21:49I think it might be the same thing.
21:51Look at the feet down here.
21:53There's nothing there.
21:55It must be behind the trees.
21:57Okay.
21:57Let me get closer.
21:59Slowly.
22:02Oh, my God!
22:07Hold it, hold it.
22:11Okay.
22:14What's going on?
22:16The brush is too dense.
22:19It's really thick over there.
22:21But we know that thing is right in front of it.
22:23Let's get out there.
22:24Okay.
22:24Let's move.
22:24Okay.
22:25There he is.
22:36Let me scan with the flare.
22:39Anything?
22:40Not seeing any signatures right now.
22:44Doesn't mean it's not close.
22:45So it was facing this direction.
22:49Meaning whatever animal it saw
22:50would have been right here
22:51heading through that clearing.
22:53Okay.
22:54Let's go in.
22:59See it?
23:00I don't see anything.
23:03No eye shine.
23:05Where did you go?
23:07Oh!
23:07Oh!
23:09Oh!
23:10That sounded big.
23:17It sounded like it came from right over here.
23:19Oh, look at that.
23:20Look at that.
23:21What's that?
23:23There's a hot spot on that tree.
23:25What do you mean, a hot spot on a tree?
23:27I don't know what it is.
23:30Oh, my God.
23:31Look.
23:32Do you see that?
23:35Am I looking at what I think I'm looking at?
23:37Yes.
23:38Looks like me.
23:39Some dirt was kicked up here, too.
23:43And look.
23:44The glow is basically gone.
23:46It's already cooled off.
23:48So that's fresh.
23:49Very, very fresh.
23:51The way the dirt is kicked up
23:52and that being on the side of the tree,
23:54this is a territorial marking.
23:56Let's get a sample of it.
23:58You think maybe Roboduck made something
24:00a certain stop it?
24:01Whoa.
24:03That's kind of a wild theory.
24:04Maybe he was intimidated.
24:07I want to check on Miss Hinty,
24:08but whatever did this,
24:10it's got to still be close.
24:11Let's keep looking for it.
24:12Okay.
24:13Knowing that this could have been left
24:15by our potential chupacabra heat signature,
24:17I collect a urine sample
24:19and place a game camera at the tree.
24:22We retrieve Robodog and continue the search.
24:25But as the hours roll by
24:28and the sun begins to rise,
24:30our leads have dried up.
24:35The next morning,
24:37I head out to meet up with an old buddy of mine
24:39who has an interesting theory
24:40on the origins of this blood-sucking beast.
24:43Ken!
24:44Good to see you.
24:46So good to see you.
24:47Thank you so much for coming down to help us out.
24:49Absolutely.
24:50Always happy to help a friend.
24:52Chupacabra expert Ken Gearhart
24:53has compiled a wealth of evidence
24:55and eyewitness accounts across Texas,
24:57dating back to the creature's
24:59earliest reported sightings.
25:01I know you've been researching
25:02the chupacabra for years.
25:04Walk me through what you think it is.
25:06Well, they seem to be grotesque-looking canids
25:10or dog-like animals.
25:12And of course,
25:12the great mystery at the root of it all is,
25:15are these animals actually drinking blood?
25:18That is an adaptation that we only see
25:21in very specific higher vertebrates,
25:24vampire bats.
25:25Yeah.
25:25So if suddenly we're seeing
25:26a strange type of evolution happening
25:29right before our very eyes,
25:31that's pretty miraculous.
25:33So why here?
25:33Why would there be this large population
25:35of strange animals in southeastern Texas?
25:38Well, one interesting theory
25:39that I've explored, Heather,
25:41is that these animals may be mutations.
25:44Clusters of these animals
25:45seem to be appearing
25:46near coal-burning power plants.
25:48Sulfur dioxide is one of the main emissions
25:50that these power plants put out.
25:52It's actually been proven
25:54that sulfur dioxide is a mutagen,
25:56which means it will alter the DNA
25:58or change the cellular structure
26:00of an animal, of a species.
26:02I know this sounds like the plot
26:04from a bad science fiction movie.
26:05Yeah, it's wild.
26:07But I think there's actually a chance
26:08that these toxins
26:09that are being put into the groundwater
26:10are genetically altering wild cannids
26:13like coyotes and things like that.
26:15That could actually explain
26:16the grotesque appearance
26:18and the strange behaviors
26:19of these animals.
26:20If we do want to get close
26:22to this chupacabra,
26:23where should we look?
26:25I would say you need
26:26to be around water
26:27and stay near the power plants.
26:29I've actually heard there have been
26:31some very recent sightings
26:32around Kaledo Creek.
26:33Okay.
26:34How do you suggest we go about it?
26:36Well, forgive me for stating the obvious,
26:39but we're trying to lure in something
26:40that drinks blood,
26:42and so it's all about
26:43using the right type of bait.
26:45But, you know, remember,
26:46these animals seem to be
26:47very brazen around people,
26:49and they're very hyper-aggressive.
26:51If you have blood running
26:52through your veins,
26:52I think that there's cause for alarm.
26:54So watch your back.
26:55Okay.
26:56Thank you so much.
26:57So good seeing you.
26:58Good luck, Heather.
26:59Thank you.
26:59I'll need it.
27:00Okay.
27:02While Heather meets
27:03with her contact...
27:04Hey, Michael.
27:05Hey, Phil.
27:06Hey, good meeting you.
27:07I travel to a nearby ranch
27:09and meet the owner,
27:10Michael Demmel,
27:11who shares a photo
27:12of a mysterious creature
27:13a trail cam caught
27:14at the edge of his property.
27:18Take a look at that.
27:21You ever seen anything
27:22like that before?
27:23What is that?
27:24I have no idea.
27:26There was something
27:26I'd never seen before.
27:28That is so bizarre.
27:31It's definitely not a coyote
27:33or a mangy dog.
27:34And I'd like to know
27:35what it really is.
27:36Yeah.
27:37I'll let you know
27:37if we find anything.
27:39The wilderness around this ranch
27:40is another potential
27:42chupacabra hotspot.
27:43So I tell Heather
27:44to meet me here
27:45to plan our next steps.
27:47All right, Heather,
27:48check this house.
27:50This is the photo
27:50I was telling you about.
27:51Look at that thing.
27:52Well, that's weird.
27:53Isn't?
27:54Isn't that so bizarre?
27:57Where was this taken?
27:59You see these long posts
28:00right there?
28:00Yeah.
28:00This is underneath
28:01a deer feeder,
28:02which you can see right there.
28:05Seems like this thing
28:06was heading through the woods
28:07to the water.
28:09That is key.
28:10Ken mentioned water as well,
28:11and bear with me on this one.
28:13Uh-oh.
28:13Ken has a hypothesis
28:14that the coal plants
28:15that are near water
28:16are actually polluting
28:18the waterways
28:18and potentially causing
28:19a mutation
28:20in what would otherwise
28:22be normal wildlife.
28:23I mean, typically,
28:24those types of pollutants
28:26would cause things
28:26like cancer,
28:28which I guess could make
28:29something like a coyote
28:30go bald.
28:32But I would have to see
28:33a lot of evidence
28:34to back that up.
28:35Agreed.
28:36Regardless,
28:36it does seem like
28:38all signs point
28:39towards the water.
28:39So I think we should
28:40actually get on
28:41the water tonight.
28:42That'll give us
28:42the best vantage point.
28:44I think that's a great idea.
28:45Just one more thing.
28:46Yeah?
28:46This was Ken's idea.
28:48Was that blood?
28:50Yep.
28:50You should be so thankful
28:52that I actually went
28:52to the butcher
28:53and got us some.
28:54I figure we'll use it
28:55as bait.
28:56I mean,
28:57let's give it a shot.
28:58All right.
29:04There it is.
29:05It's the deer feeder.
29:06So this deer feeder
29:07will let out food
29:08at regular intervals
29:09throughout the day.
29:10Which will bring in
29:10all the deer,
29:11the hogs,
29:12and probably the things
29:14that want to eat them.
29:15Exactly.
29:16So this is where
29:17a predator
29:17would be waiting
29:18to come get prey
29:19and potentially...
29:21There it goes.
29:29See?
29:30You weren't lying.
29:31That's the sound
29:31of the dinner bell.
29:32Ooh.
29:33My dinner bell
29:34sounds a little different.
29:36I've been scared
29:37by corn before.
29:38There it is.
29:40In case Michael's
29:41unusual creature
29:42returns for another
29:43midnight snack,
29:44we set up
29:45trail cams
29:46at the edge
29:46of the woods
29:47by the deer feeder.
29:48There we go.
29:49Camera track's it?
29:50Yeah.
29:51Is that in?
29:52All right.
29:52And start heading
29:53for the river.
29:54Right through here.
29:55See that?
29:55Yeah.
29:58Tonight,
29:59we're paddling
30:00Caledo Creek
30:01to an area downstream
30:02from a power plant
30:03where several recent
30:05alleged chupacabra
30:06sightings
30:06have been reported.
30:07Oh, right here.
30:14All right.
30:15Using a canoe
30:15Michael has provided
30:16for us,
30:17we load up
30:17Robo-Dog's kennel,
30:19a.k.a. a gear case,
30:21and prepare to set out.
30:23Okay.
30:23Timing-wise,
30:24it couldn't be more perfect
30:25because it is about
30:26to be dusk.
30:27That is when
30:27the majority of animals
30:28will come to the river's edge
30:30to take a drink.
30:31We have incredibly
30:32good chances tonight
30:33of seeing something interesting.
30:34Before we head out,
30:36I'm going to pop
30:36the thermal drone
30:37in the air,
30:37set it in follow mode
30:38so it can actually
30:39track us as we go
30:40and show us
30:41if there's any
30:41thermal hits on shore.
30:43Good idea.
30:44Something will have
30:44our back in the air.
30:45Yeah.
30:53Let's hit the water.
30:57All right.
31:01There we go.
31:04Drone is tracking us.
31:07You see anything yet?
31:08I don't know yet,
31:10but it's going to keep
31:11following us as we go.
31:12Yeah.
31:13It's very quiet.
31:37That's not the thermal drone yet.
31:38I don't see anything either.
31:50Oh.
31:51Nothing on the thermal drone.
31:53Oh, my God.
31:54It's running.
31:55Which direction?
31:56Should we be right up there?
31:58Let's move it quick.
31:59Okay.
31:59Let's go.
32:02Should be right up there.
32:03Should be right up there.
32:06Oh, oh.
32:07What's going on?
32:08What is that?
32:08What is that?
32:09Where'd it go?
32:11I don't see it.
32:15Where are you?
32:16Could be underneath us right now.
32:18Do you see any swimming?
32:20No.
32:22Nothing's showing up
32:23on the thermal drone.
32:23I think probably
32:24because it went underwater.
32:26That thing looked
32:26gray or dark
32:28or it didn't look like
32:29it had any fur.
32:30I know it sounds insane
32:34but I kind of agree.
32:37Have you heard anything
32:38about these Troop of Calvars
32:39swimming
32:40or being able
32:42to go underwater
32:42like that?
32:43Can canine swim?
32:44There is something back there.
32:58Do you see it?
32:59I don't see it
33:00but it sounds huge.
33:05It's moving.
33:07I'm not seeing it
33:08on the thermal drone.
33:09The brush is too thick.
33:10I think it's gone up the ridge.
33:15It's just too steep
33:15for us to get off here.
33:18I'm trying to find
33:19a place down there.
33:20Copy that.
33:21We gotta get up there.
33:24Do you see a spot
33:25for us to land?
33:25I think right here.
33:26Up on the right.
33:27Okay.
33:31Okay.
33:32All right, I'm off.
33:33Okay.
33:34Whatever the hell
33:39we're hearing back there
33:40it should be still
33:41right above that ridge.
33:43I think we need to get up there
33:44before we deploy RoboDog.
33:46All right, Heather.
33:47Let's find a place
33:47to land this drone.
33:53Got it.
33:56With the brush too thick
33:57for our thermal drone
33:58an eye in the sky
33:59isn't as helpful
34:00as eyes on the ground.
34:02Once again
34:02it's time to let RoboDog
34:04off his leash.
34:05Last night
34:06we didn't want
34:06any scent on RoboDog
34:07so he wouldn't scare
34:08any animals
34:09they have our dogs included
34:10but tonight
34:11I think we'll try the opposite.
34:13You still have that jar of blood?
34:14Yeah.
34:16All right.
34:17What are you thinking?
34:18So I want to take a rag
34:20dip it in this fresh blood
34:21and tie it around
34:23our little friend here.
34:24So when we send it out
34:26into the world
34:26hopefully some predator
34:28will smell that blood
34:29and come running
34:30straight at it
34:31to investigate.
34:31Time to be prey
34:33RoboDog.
34:34Send him out.
34:36He's switching over
34:36to live feed now.
34:39Good luck RoboDog.
34:47To a predator
34:48the way it's stomping around
34:50and pushing to the grass
34:51that sounds more like
34:52the desperate moves
34:53of an injured animal.
34:54Plus
34:55it smells like blood.
34:57You can buy a lot
34:58of animals around here.
34:59You may become very curious.
35:03What?
35:04That was eye shine
35:04right there.
35:04There was eye shine.
35:08It was crouched down low.
35:10There is something
35:11watching it.
35:15Oh!
35:16Holy
35:17As we've heard
35:26one popular origin story
35:28for the chupacabra
35:29is that it's some kind
35:30of mutant dog.
35:32Disturbingly
35:32there is evidence
35:33that this could be possible.
35:35Scientists say
35:36otherwise peaceful animals
35:37can transform
35:39when exposed to toxins
35:40becoming dangerously aggressive.
35:42Perhaps the best example
35:44of this comes
35:45in the aftermath
35:46of the 1986
35:47Chernobyl disaster.
35:49When the nuclear
35:50power plant exploded
35:51humans were evacuated
35:52from ground zero
35:53but thousands
35:54of animals remained.
35:56Analyzing these animals
35:57genes decades later
35:59scientists discovered
36:00that radioactivity
36:01had permanently
36:02altered their DNA.
36:04Hundreds of boars
36:05still roam Chernobyl
36:06feeding on irradiated fauna.
36:09They've mutated
36:09and according to
36:10returning locals
36:11have become much more
36:12aggressive as a result.
36:14If these reports
36:15are true
36:16then who knows
36:17the chupacabra
36:18really might have gone
36:19from man's best friend
36:20to man's worst enemy.
36:28Oh!
36:29I can't move it.
36:30It's light.
36:31We're out there.
36:32Let's go find it.
36:33Let's go find it.
36:40There it is.
36:41Oh my god.
36:45Careful.
36:47Chance there's anything
36:48around on the flare.
36:51I'm not seeing anything
36:52around us right now.
36:55Look at this, Heather.
36:58We got completely
37:00knocked over.
37:01Get him out.
37:02You know what I'm wondering.
37:09What?
37:09How hard is it
37:10to knock this thing home?
37:11I think pretty hard.
37:14Oh.
37:17What?
37:18He catches his balance.
37:19Yeah.
37:20That is impressive.
37:22Whatever hit this
37:23must have hit it
37:24with a lot of force.
37:25That's not an accident
37:27of the glove.
37:27That is an attack.
37:28Yeah, and if this thing
37:29was coming after the blood
37:30and thought it was
37:30going to eat,
37:31it's probably still
37:32prowling around.
37:33Yeah.
37:35Let's keep looking around.
37:36See the tracks?
38:04There's a bone right there.
38:11Oh my god, there is.
38:13Look at that.
38:15It's a very far.
38:17Oh my god, look.
38:22Bones are all over the place.
38:23I think this is the horse.
38:39Are we in a Chupacabra
38:40feeding ground?
38:43We just might be.
38:46Now, scattered bones
38:47doesn't exactly match
38:49this Chupacabra's MO
38:50because there's not
38:52a whole dead animal
38:53lacking blood here.
38:55Doesn't mean something
38:55couldn't have been
38:56picked apart afterwards.
38:59Look, and whatever
39:00ate that could have
39:01been whatever
39:01attacked Robodog.
39:04Obviously, I can't say
39:05that's a Chupacabra.
39:06But we know
39:08that something up here
39:09is carnivorous.
39:12All right, I'm going to
39:12collect some of these bones.
39:14Maybe they'll give us
39:15a better idea
39:15of what we've been chasing.
39:17Okay, so let's keep
39:18watching our backs here.
39:19Okay.
39:19Is the Chupacabra
39:24stalking the Texas
39:25Badlands?
39:26Heather and Phil
39:27found no further
39:28evidence of it
39:29that night.
39:31Holy
39:32Robodog's attacker
39:34remains a mystery.
39:36Mones are all over the place.
39:38We were able
39:38to definitively identify
39:40the attacker
39:41of the dead horse
39:41we found.
39:42Toothpit analysis
39:43revealed it was
39:45devoured by a mountain lion,
39:47not a vampire dog.
39:49But some evidence
39:50we captured
39:50was harder to explain.
39:53Oh my God, look.
39:54Looks like me.
39:55The urine sample
39:56Phil gathered
39:57after chasing a creature
39:58through Dr. Canyon's ranch
40:00was confirmed as canine,
40:02but the species
40:03could not be determined.
40:05Could it be another
40:06of Dr. Canyon's
40:08chupacabras?
40:09That's a do.
40:11We sent the tissue sample
40:12Phil scraped
40:13from her taxidermied specimen
40:14to a genetics lab,
40:16and the results
40:16were fascinating.
40:17The animal's mother
40:19was a coyote,
40:20but its father
40:21was a Mexican wolf.
40:23That's you.
40:24It has a strong
40:25arch in its back.
40:26But this creature
40:27looks nothing
40:28like either animal,
40:29so could the expert
40:30Heather spoke to
40:31be correct?
40:32These animals
40:33may be mutations.
40:35Is an environmental
40:36factor somehow
40:37mutating wild dogs
40:38into hairless,
40:39blood-sucking beasts?
40:41If this bold claim
40:42really is the case,
40:44we should all
40:44be very concerned.
40:46While our many trail cams
40:47did not capture
40:48definitive footage
40:49of a vampire dog,
40:51they captured
40:52plenty of coyotes
40:53that, if you believe
40:54the theory,
40:55could one day
40:55become chupacabras.
40:57The existence
40:59of the chupacabra
41:00remains far
41:01from certain,
41:02but at least
41:03we can have
41:03canine confidence
41:04in one thing.
41:06Robo-Dog
41:06is a very good boy.
41:09I've been working
41:09on something
41:09real important.
41:10Yeah?
41:11I taught Robo-Dog
41:12some new tricks.
41:13Whoa!
41:14Did you do a handstand?
41:16Isn't that cool?
41:17That's not all.
41:18I renamed him.
41:19Let's hear it.
41:20Spot.
41:21Spot?
41:22Scientific and Paranormal
41:23Observation Tracker.
41:24Spot?
41:25Welcome to the team,
41:26buddy.
41:27Oh, that's the spot.
41:30That's the spot.
