00:00Thank you United. God bless you. Thank you so much.
00:30What's sake? It's like no hiding place.
01:00Well Australia was really great. We had a fantastic time and it was our first time back there
01:09in 40 years and the funds really made us feel welcome. It was great to start the tour in
01:17that part of the world and introduce new material which really went down great.
01:22By the time we finished the album we've been playing it for like a year or so you know
01:27so it's like we wanted to get it done and get out there. We like to discuss how the
01:31gig is going to go just to make sure that we're all on the same page.
01:34So we'll do Methodemic tomorrow and God is Dead or something?
01:39And God is Dead and then the next day Loner.
01:42No you're not doing the other one now?
01:44Yeah Loner and...
01:45No the um, oh you're doing God is Dead tomorrow.
01:48And Methodemic.
01:50And the next day we're going to do...
01:53End of the beginning.
01:54Yeah okay, okay.
01:56When you do new songs you don't know how the audience doesn't react.
01:59Isn't that new song for you now?
02:01It's called God is Dead.
02:05We were worried about that at first.
02:07They didn't just play in new material because of course with the internet and YouTube and
02:12all that would be all over the place of the new songs but the reaction was good.
02:16Especially with them not hearing it and not hearing it.
02:19It's called God is Dead.
02:20It's called God is Dead.
02:21People picked up on it who were singing along.
02:22You're going to watch Doctor Who?
02:36No.
02:37It's on at 7.30 if you are.
02:39The one that was on England.
02:40The old reruns of the Twilight song.
02:43You told me that about 40 times.
02:45Sorry.
02:46I'm talking about conversation.
02:48It's fun being in the band with you mates and I'm really enjoying it.
02:55You can take the piss out of each other and we have great fun.
02:59And no one really gets bothered by it all.
03:01It's just a laugh you know.
03:25I think you do get into the thing of your little way of working.
03:28I know my routine when I get there.
03:30It's over play for a bit and then eat and it's just you just get into that routine of what
03:35you're going to do before the show.
03:44I sleep for about ten minutes.
03:46Then I go up and do yoga stretching.
03:50And then I listen to whatever's in the top ten.
03:53And then I have a wee every five minutes.
03:58I do a bit of jumping around but it's about a little too much.
04:10You're getting ready for the fight you know.
04:12It's funny when you're playing in these far away places you don't have to run into people
04:17who you know.
04:18In this particular time we bumped into Aerosmith.
04:22Joe and Steven came to the show.
04:25We didn't have a lot of time to chat but the time we did that was great.
04:29Do you use ears?
04:30No.
04:32Do you?
04:33No.
04:34I can't use them.
04:35I'm bloody deaf anyway.
04:36Me and Ozzy, a pair of us can't hear properly.
04:39Yeah but you can hear properly up there.
04:41Up there, yeah.
04:43I figure I spend all this time you know trying to be in a band and you know I love the way
04:49it sounds.
04:50What am I going to put things in my ears so I can't hear it?
04:52I know you've got to hear how it sounds.
04:54I can't tell with them.
04:55Plus you get to hear the audience.
04:57You know what I mean?
04:58And you get to hear the whole vibe and you get to hear the drums the way they really sound.
05:02You get to hear everything the way it really sounds instead of like going right in here.
05:07And the other thing is I freak out because I worry about you know feedback.
05:12You know one blast of feedback from a microphone or something and there's nothing you can do about it.
05:17Because those things can be in your ears.
05:20So I'm dead against them you know.
05:23I mean even if I lose a little hearing I think that some guys turn them up too much you know.
05:29I mean because they're in there and you can't tell.
05:31There's nothing to relate to so.
05:33You know.
05:34So I swear them off.
05:36They get a film from their DVD before they go on.
05:38All right man.
05:39Well you do what you got to do.
05:40Well hopefully I'll see you.
05:41Yeah.
05:42Up there.
05:44All right.
05:45I've been waiting for this since I was six years old.
06:09I actually thought it would never happen.
06:11But here they are.
06:12There's new kids coming all the time.
06:14It's amazing to see them.
06:15There's young kids on their dad's shoulder.
06:17They were such a classic band that it appeals to everybody.
06:22It's just one of those bands that everybody loves.
06:24You got the first generation who got into them when they started.
06:27And at the same time when they started no one was doing that.
06:30That's why it would have appealed to that generation at the time.
06:32And then again most of these generations move on, grow up, obviously stick to the music.
06:37And then they bring their kids up on it as well.
06:39My daughter.
06:40Good boy.
06:41And my son.
06:43When I was a kid if my dad would have said to me, come and see this artist is what you
06:47see.
06:48Just the fact that my dad liked it, I wouldn't have liked it.
06:50They're just four bums from Birmingham and everyone said they had no future.
06:53And the fact that they sort of looked into themselves and then just played music for absolute honesty.
07:00And it's what's helped them get a better life just through looking into themselves
07:04and coming up with this amazing music that we are all now obsessed with the last 40 years plus.
07:09It's just those classic riffs that I think appeals to one generation after the other.
07:23What's your name!
07:26What's your name!
07:27Queens you ready.
07:30What's your name!
07:31What's your name!
07:33What's your name!
07:35What's your name!
07:37We're walking zen.
07:39We're going to walk and drag.
07:42We're on the move.
07:51Nothing like sex, drugs, booze, nothing like getting that crowd.
08:21I'm not sure how to do this but I'm not sure how to do this.
08:29I'm not sure how to do it.
