00:00What was it like, you know, you've seen yourself on camera as yourself, but seeing someone else portray you, what was that experience like?
00:07It was quite daunting, it was very surreal, but I really, really liked it, and I think the reason I liked it is because Robert Arameo has done an absolutely amazing job.
00:19He sounded like me, he looked like me, he spoke like me, he walked like me, everything, you know, and it was just, I was blown away the very first time that I'd seen the film.
00:29I was like, how can someone from Hull, Broad Yorkshire, come out and do something like this? Just amazing, amazing.
00:37Yeah, amazing, and you kind of touched on it then, but did you have any, you know, working with Robert and then Scott, did you have any advice for them?
00:47Yeah, yeah, I spent a lot of time, I spent a full day with Scott and Rob learning how to fish, not that I knew how to fish, obviously, going with the film,
00:56but to teach them how to fish. Rob was also at Gala Shields for about three hours, three weeks, so he spent nearly every day with me,
01:07following me around, picking up how I walked and how I reacted, my triggers for ticks, all that kind of stuff,
01:14so he became me for the whole shoot, the whole time, from the start to finish of the shoot,
01:20and he's just done absolutely an extraordinary job.
01:24It was one thing that I was really interested in with older John, was just sort of trying to develop how his,
01:32how he was, how his relationship to Tourette's had changed over the years in between me and Scott,
01:39you know, and what sort of like physical masking techniques had taken hold in him and stuff like that,
01:45that he'd, and how his own relationship had changed and developed and, you know, how he felt about his condition now.
01:52The documentaries were useful, but they were useful to check in with.
01:57It was nothing compared to actually being with John, you know, and actually learning from him,
02:03and that, nothing compared to that really, yeah.
02:05And John said you went fishing.
02:07Yeah, yeah, went fishing. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
02:09Yeah, I went fishing a few times, actually.
02:11Yeah, yeah, yeah.
02:11Yeah, we found a guy and then I went fishing, like, again a few times, and it was really fun.
02:15I really loved it. It was a great bonding experience for all of us,
02:18but at the same time, it was a big part of John's life, so creatively, it was really useful too.
