00:00From the Pack and Teller Theater at the Rio Hotel in Las Vegas,
00:26here's our host, Brooke Farris!
00:42Welcome to Fool Us. Magic is full speed ahead tonight,
00:45and we've got four sensational magicians at the starting line.
00:49Let's see who makes it onto the P&T podium with a trophy
00:53as we welcome our Grand Prix Masters of Magic, Penn & Teller!
00:58If a magician makes Penn & Teller wave their white flag,
01:05they earn a Fool Us trophy on a spot in Penn & Teller's Las Vegas show.
01:09Our first act is racing in right now.
01:18Hi, I'm Jack Kelly. When I was six years old, I discovered skateboarding.
01:21I dropped into a half pipe for the first time. It was terrifying.
01:24But the first act is racing in right now.
01:28Hi, I'm Jack Kelly. When I was six years old, I discovered skateboarding.
01:31I dropped into a half pipe for the first time. It was terrifying.
01:34But it taught me the value of taking risks, a lesson that really stuck with me.
01:38When I was nine, I took another risk and performed my first ever magic trick
01:41for show and tell at school.
01:43Growing up with a severe stutter made it tough to communicate.
01:46But magic transformed my ability to speak.
01:48It helped me piece my thoughts together like a puzzle piece.
01:51Even becoming a full-time magician was a huge risk for me.
01:55But so far, it's working out.
01:57And tonight, I'm taking the biggest risk of all, trying to fool Penn & Teller.
02:02If I succeed, it'll be the ultimate reward for a lifetime of risk-taking.
02:07Please welcome North Carolina's own Jack Kelly.
02:11I'm the only one that I've ever seen before.
02:14I'm the only one that I've ever seen before.
02:16I'm the only one that I've ever seen before.
02:19Please welcome North Carolina's own Jack Kelly.
02:27I got this custom skateboard made, but there's a problem.
02:32I couldn't decide on the colors.
02:34That's why I have these volunteers up here to help create my new skateboard logo on national TV.
02:40In front of each of you, you have an outline of this logo and a cup of markers.
02:44In a moment, you're going to use those markers and color in your blank logo however you'd like.
02:48A different color for each section.
02:51Then when you're done, Brooke's going to choose one of your finished logos at random.
02:54And whichever one she chooses, I'm going to try to make my logo look the exact same way.
02:59So, you guys get started coloring.
03:01While you guys are coloring, please welcome Brooke to the stage.
03:04Hi.
03:06Hey, Jack.
03:07Hey.
03:08How are you?
03:10So, Brooke, while they're coloring, you're going to make one more decision.
03:12Okay.
03:13You're going to choose the sticker that's going to go on my skateboard.
03:15Okay.
03:16So, in this baggie, I have dozens of skateboard stickers.
03:19Okay.
03:20I just want you to just reach in, grab one, and show a pen and tell her.
03:22Okay.
03:26Great.
03:27What does it say?
03:28Good vibes only.
03:29Good vibes only.
03:30I love it.
03:31That's a cool sticker.
03:32Brooke, we're going to use this sticker, but not all of it.
03:34Okay?
03:35Okay.
03:41Could you just finish that tear for me?
03:42Sure.
03:43Yeah.
03:44Right there.
03:45Boom.
03:46Amazing.
03:47Okay.
03:48Brooke, we're both going to peel off our sticker backing.
03:49Okay.
03:50Now?
03:51Yep.
03:52Peel it off.
03:53Okay.
03:54Do the same.
03:55Okay.
03:56Great.
03:57And you can just toss the trash behind you.
03:58Okay.
03:59Perfect.
04:00Amazing, Brooke.
04:01You're doing great.
04:02Brooke, watch the corner of that sticker.
04:04Okay.
04:05What?
04:06What?
04:07What?
04:08Yeah, you're probably wondering, where in the world is Russ that sticker?
04:12Brooke, that corner of the sticker is where all skateboard stickers belong.
04:17Okay.
04:18No way.
04:19Yes way.
04:20Okay.
04:21No way.
04:22No way.
04:23No way.
04:24No way.
04:25What?
04:26You're going to see stuck to the bottom of this skateboard.
04:27There is a corner.
04:28That is cool.
04:29But this could be any corner unless we take that leftover sticker that you have, Brooke,
04:38line it up and see that that is a perfect match once again.
04:43That's amazing.
04:44Thank you, everybody.
04:45Super cool.
04:46Super cool.
04:47Now that we've dealt with the sticker part of the board, now we can go back to the logo.
04:53Okay.
04:54Is everyone done coloring?
04:55Okay.
04:56Now that everyone's done coloring, I want you to take your design out of your clipboard,
05:03turn it face down, and then pass your design all the way down to the end closest to me.
05:11Great.
05:12And would you just mind just mixing up all those designs?
05:16Perfect.
05:17Okay.
05:18Amazing.
05:19You guys can make way back to your seat.
05:20Give it up for these volunteers, everybody.
05:22Now it's time, Brooke, for you to choose one of these designs at random.
05:30Okay.
05:31So, we had four artists up here.
05:32Okay.
05:33Four finished logos.
05:34Name a number between one and four.
05:36Two.
05:37Two.
05:38Okay.
05:39So, that's one.
05:40One.
05:41And that's two.
05:42I'm going to give that to you.
05:43Okay.
05:44I'm going to show, pen, and tell her what design we got.
05:46Great.
05:47Now, Brooke, you could have chosen any one of these designs.
05:50True.
05:54But you chose that one.
05:55Let's see what we got.
05:56We have a yellow background, a red border, a green J, and a purple K.
06:01Okay.
06:02Brooke, remember how you said that my skateboard logo doesn't look the exact same?
06:06You said that.
06:07At the end of the Shrek?
06:08Yes.
06:09Okay.
06:10Let's just wrap our heads around this, okay?
06:12I haven't touched this skateboard since you chose that design, right?
06:15You have not.
06:16Uh-oh.
06:18Uh...
06:19I can see that.
06:20Uh...
06:21Oh, Brooke, I apologize.
06:22Okay.
06:23I forgot to mention.
06:24We've been using more than one sticker.
06:25What?
06:26What?
06:27Because underneath that is a yellow background, a red border, a green J, a purple K, a perfect
06:33match!
06:34Jack Kelly!
06:35You did it!
06:36Wow!
06:37Are you actually a great skateboarder?
06:38No.
06:39I'm still a magician, so athletic abilities are minimum.
06:44So...
06:45Uh...
06:46But I do enjoy skateboarding.
06:47Does magic also give you that adrenaline rush?
06:49Yeah, it does.
06:50It does.
06:51Which one is more difficult?
06:52Probably skateboarding.
06:53Uh...
06:54You know, I don't skateboard as often.
06:55Uh...
06:56I don't skateboard as often.
06:57Oh, my gosh.
06:58You know, I don't skateboard as often.
06:59So, uh...
07:00Oh, my gosh.
07:01Yeah.
07:02Oh, my gosh.
07:03And I don't skateboard as often.
07:04I don't even know what I like.
07:05Oh, my gosh.
07:06Oh, my gosh.
07:07Oh, my gosh.
07:08Oh, my gosh.
07:09Oh, my gosh.
07:10Oh, my gosh.
07:11Yeah.
07:12I don't skateboard as often as I used to, mainly because I do this professionally, and if I break an arm, then I'm out of a job, so.
07:23Okay, Jack, the boys have had enough time.
07:26Let's find out if you fooled them.
07:27Okay.
07:27You ready?
07:28Let's do it.
07:28Boys?
07:29Yeah, Jack.
07:30I'll tell you right away, you did not fool us at all.
07:34I think all the suspense away on the opening sticker thing.
07:38Not even for a moment did you fool us on that.
07:42But the second part was a little trickier.
07:47And it's really a good trick.
07:50It was really a good trick, and the audience just loved you, and we loved you, and we have been racking our brains out.
07:57We think we've got it.
07:59I'm trying to find the right way to say this to you.
08:01There's a term in magic, you probably know what it is, of dual reality, right?
08:05And we think that the people that were doing the drawing and filling that out had a different experience than we think they were having.
08:16That what they were doing, what they were seeing on their pad, was different than what we thought they were seeing.
08:23Very hard to find a way to say this.
08:25I guess I'll just ask you one question, and then I'll answer the whole thing.
08:29We think there's something chemical in the markers.
08:33Is there something chemical in the markers?
08:36No. No.
08:37We mean that they could actually write a different thing that looks like they're writing, or it developed when it interacted with the paper?
08:45No, sir. No.
08:46Those are real markers.
08:47And what the people saw on their paper was exactly what we thought they were seeing when they were drawing.
08:56Yes, sir.
08:57Oh, damn.
08:58Well, look at you.
09:05Bring it. Bring it. Earn it.
09:13Congratulations, Jack Kelly.
09:16Congratulations.
09:17What a great moment.
09:26Our masters of magic are mystified, and we still have more magic when we come back.
09:46Welcome back.
09:47We take pride in finding the world's best magicians. Meet our next ferocious fooler.
09:54I work in a magic shop in Denmark.
09:56Magic has given me everything.
09:59Hobby, life, the magic community have just helped me get a lot of friends that are interested in the same things.
10:05Performing, creating stuff, watching other people, helping other people.
10:10It is my life.
10:11Here's magic world champion, Morten Christensen.
10:14Being on the show last time was a dream come true, because I'd seen the show for years, and I had a lot of fun.
10:22We just love you, but we don't think you fooled us.
10:26It would be nice to win.
10:27It would be nice to win.
10:28You don't just get the trophy.
10:30You get to come back and perform in Penn and Tello's show.
10:33And that's the prize I want.
10:41Please welcome the eccentric mind of Morten Christensen.
10:44Hello.
10:52Yeah, it's my turn.
10:55I was just getting some snacks backstage, and now I'm stuck.
11:03So, yeah, thank you for having me.
11:07Yeah, it's my fault.
11:08A can of chips is really just a mousetrap for people.
11:11So, oh, snacks?
11:12Oh, and you're stuck.
11:13Okay, but, and I had so much fun things planned.
11:16I had planned, you know, I have some ducks with me, you know, like, this, this, but you wouldn't get it anyway.
11:23So, let's just do, look at the card trick.
11:25I have some, like, some car, cards.
11:32Sir, could you just, uh, could you just, could you reach in my pocket and just, uh, grab the cards?
11:38And, can you take them out of the box?
11:43Uh, Brooke could have done this, but I felt like that could have been creepy.
11:47Uh, and, and I don't care about you, so.
11:52Okay, so, okay.
11:54Okay, so, the, the trick, the, one hand.
11:59Okay, one hand.
12:04Okay, so, let's do the, the woman right there, I mean, uh, third row, uh, yeah, could you, uh, want to help?
12:11Okay, good.
12:12Name, in a day of cards, there's red cards and black cards.
12:14Which one do you want to take out of the deck, the reds or the blacks?
12:17Red.
12:18Red.
12:18Okay, so look, I do something cool like this.
12:21Almost drop the book.
12:22And, red, so out of the reds, do you want, uh, do you want to have a heart or a diamond?
12:28You decide.
12:29A heart.
12:30A heart.
12:30Okay, I'll do this cool thing here.
12:38Huh.
12:40Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha.
12:46What did you say?
12:48A heart?
12:52Name any heart.
12:55A queen.
12:56Queen of hearts.
12:57Queen of hearts.
12:57So I'll do this with one hand up.
13:01Okay, it doesn't matter.
13:01I don't lie anymore.
13:04And...
13:05One card.
13:09Queen of hearts.
13:10Queen of hearts.
13:12Queen of hearts.
13:13You didn't think I could do it.
13:15Oh.
13:16Oh.
13:16Queen of hearts.
13:22Yeah, and actually,
13:24I'm much better with my right hand.
13:27Because inside here,
13:29inside here,
13:30I have
13:30one folded card
13:34and some chips.
13:36One folded card,
13:37one folded card,
13:38and this card is,
13:39if it's unfolding like this,
13:41the queen of hearts.
13:42The queen of hearts.
13:51Wait, wait, this is,
13:52this is a mess now.
13:53This is a mess, okay?
13:54We can't leave it like this.
13:55There's chips and cards and,
13:57oh, a snack, nice.
13:58Okay.
14:01Okay, this,
14:02this is a mess.
14:03I'll be honest with you.
14:04Since this is full loss,
14:05I'll be honest with you.
14:07I've prepared the can.
14:08So I've cut it open on the back
14:10and extended it a little bit
14:11because apparently I have really fat wrists.
14:13But this is just a regular chips can
14:16and so you can have the queen,
14:19you can have the can
14:20just if you want to.
14:22So you can have this.
14:23Thank you so much.
14:24And also,
14:26you want the chips?
14:29That's everything.
14:30Thank you for having me.
14:31Maureen Christensen.
14:42Maureen, you are just adorable.
14:43That was so much fun.
14:44Oh, thank you.
14:45Were these on the floor?
14:46No, no, no.
14:47They were in my bag.
14:48And that, yeah, just...
14:49You don't mind, right?
14:50Yeah, just...
14:51If you could have
14:54one superpower,
14:57one magic superpower,
14:59what would it be?
14:59Telepensation.
15:00Oh.
15:01Because then I could
15:02stop doing cardio.
15:04I would never move my legs anymore.
15:06What?
15:07No, but like,
15:08oh, I want to go to the store.
15:09I'm the wrong person
15:10for you to be talking to.
15:11There you go, there you go.
15:12No, that's what I mean.
15:12That's what I mean.
15:13I would, um...
15:15I'm fascinated by mentalism,
15:16so I think I'd like to read minds,
15:18but then sometimes I wonder
15:19if I'd really want to do that.
15:20Yeah, you shouldn't.
15:21I shouldn't, right?
15:21Mentalists are horrible people.
15:22What do you think about mentalism?
15:24They are?
15:24So pretentious
15:25where if a guy stands here,
15:27he usually has a lot of tattoos
15:29and weird,
15:30a mustache
15:31and he's like,
15:32I'll read your mind
15:32and he's like,
15:33is this your pin number?
15:35And you're like,
15:36oh, amazing.
15:37But also a little bit creepy, right?
15:39Totally.
15:39Yeah, totally creepy.
15:41And I can be creepy without that.
15:45All right, Morton,
15:46let's find out if Penn and Teller
15:47are going to give you a full-ass trophy.
15:50Morton, you're just great.
15:52Now, before we compliment you,
15:55which we're going to,
15:56a lot,
15:57and last time you were on,
15:58you explained this.
15:59Now you're going to explain it again.
16:01Explain the ducks joke.
16:03Okay, the ducks.
16:05So the thing is,
16:07my name is Morton,
16:08spelled M-O-R-T-E-N-N,
16:11and the double N part is wrong.
16:13But if I say in Danish,
16:14hello, my name is Morton,
16:15with two Ns,
16:17it sounds as if I was saying,
16:19hello, my name is Morton,
16:20with two ducks.
16:21So it's a very bad wordplay pun
16:23that only works in Danish.
16:24I just think you're so adorable.
16:35Morton, you are
16:36one of the funniest people
16:37we have on.
16:38I mean, seriously.
16:39It's just so great
16:40and so funny
16:41and so terrific.
16:48And we just loved
16:50the whole routine.
16:52And it's really amazing
16:53and really, really good magic.
16:56And I want to tell people
16:57as you usually do,
16:58she did pick the Queen of Hearts,
17:00which some people may know
17:02in magic is the most common card
17:05for a woman to pick.
17:07So we would have thought
17:08that you got lucky,
17:09but you didn't.
17:10No, I don't get lucky
17:12with women that often.
17:16Even though you had modified
17:19that potato chip can,
17:20we were actually worried for you.
17:22We thought you might get
17:23your thumb or index finger
17:25stuck in there.
17:27And it's just a great,
17:30great trick.
17:31And even though the Queen of Hearts
17:32was right in the pocket there,
17:33you could have done it
17:34with any card at all
17:35and have that all set up.
17:37And we just could not love you
17:39and your two ducks more,
17:41but we do not think you fooled us.
17:43Oh, Ken!
17:45I know!
17:45Are you sure?
17:47Are you sure?
17:47Do I need to say it in Danish?
17:53What about humor?
17:54What about pure humor?
17:55Very funny.
17:56He's very funny.
17:57If the show was called
17:59Danish Guy Makes Us Laugh,
18:02he would be the biggest winner ever.
18:04Can we make that show, anybody?
18:06I would make that show with you.
18:09Morten, I love that so much.
18:12We loved it.
18:12You were wonderful.
18:14Can I have some more snacks backstage?
18:15You can have all the snacks you want.
18:17Yes, all the snacks.
18:17Then I'm good.
18:27Ken and Teller will face off
18:29against more magicians
18:30before we give them
18:31their own face time
18:32at the end of the show.
18:33Stay close, everyone.
18:34Welcome back.
18:49Can't wait for more amazing magic?
18:51You don't have to.
18:52Meet our next act right now.
18:56Cue up on Paula.
18:57Oh, my God!
18:58Getting on the show
18:59was a dream come true.
19:01My husband and I
19:02applied multiple times
19:03as a duo,
19:04but never got selected.
19:05This was my first time
19:07applying solo
19:07and I made it!
19:10I met my husband in school
19:11and there was an instant spark.
19:13He introduced me to magic.
19:15I embraced Islam
19:16and now we've been married
19:17for over 10 years.
19:19And though there have been
19:20mean comments,
19:21I pushed through thinking,
19:23I'm on stage,
19:24not you.
19:25I'm a new mom
19:26and I love to include
19:27my son in my act.
19:29He's a big part
19:29of my trick tonight.
19:30Balancing owning a business,
19:32being a mom
19:33and being a magician
19:34is tough,
19:35but it's my dream come true.
19:37This is my magic,
19:39my story,
19:40my triumph.
19:47From our neighbor
19:48to the north,
19:49please welcome Robin.
19:50My husband and I
19:56just had our first baby.
19:58We named him Hamza.
20:00It has been
20:01the most amazing experience
20:02and I know there's going to be
20:04so many more magical moments
20:06in the future,
20:07but when we were trying
20:09to pick names,
20:10it took us so long.
20:12And now we find ourselves
20:14in a similar predicament
20:16because now it's time
20:17to name our son's
20:18first pet.
20:21But this time,
20:22I've come up
20:23with a much better solution
20:24to finding a name.
20:26It's fun,
20:26playful,
20:27and bursting with life.
20:29Introducing
20:30the Balloon Match Game.
20:35We're currently surrounded
20:37by hundreds of balloons,
20:39the perfect way
20:39to celebrate
20:40the happiest of times.
20:42Inside,
20:43every balloon
20:43has a piece of paper
20:45with a name written on it.
20:47And every single balloon
20:48has a secret twin out there
20:50with the same name
20:51written inside.
20:52The first match we find
20:54will be the name we use
20:55for our son's first pet.
20:58Let's play.
20:59Brooke,
20:59would you please
20:59join me over here?
21:00I'd love to.
21:03Nice to meet you.
21:04Nice to meet you as well.
21:06In a moment,
21:06balloons are going to
21:07magically shower down
21:08around us.
21:09Okay.
21:09When they do,
21:10I want you to choose
21:10one balloon to be yours.
21:12Are you ready?
21:13Yes.
21:13Let there be balloons!
21:19Can I just take that?
21:21Thank you so much.
21:22You can take your seat.
21:22Okay.
21:28And now, Penn,
21:29in the audience,
21:30there's over 100 balloons
21:31as well.
21:32If you're holding a balloon,
21:33on the count of three,
21:34we're going to mix them up
21:35by just tossing them around
21:37to anyone around you, okay?
21:39One, two, three.
21:40Mix those balloons!
21:41Balloons!
21:45And stop!
21:47Catch them!
21:48Perfect!
21:49If you have a balloon,
21:50catch it in your hands,
21:51hold it up high in the air.
21:53Penn,
21:54I'd like you to please select
21:55five people holding a balloon
21:56to join me on stage.
21:58Five people?
21:58It's going to be that guy,
21:59the yellow, right there,
22:00no doubt about that.
22:02And it's going to be you
22:02on the...
22:03Go up on stage, yeah.
22:04How about you right there
22:06with the pink balloon?
22:07Yeah, and in the black,
22:09right up here.
22:10How about you in the black
22:11with the orange?
22:12And how about the guy
22:13in the orange with the orange?
22:15Yeah.
22:16Orange, orange.
22:17And Penn,
22:18will you join me as well?
22:19But I don't have a balloon.
22:20You'll see.
22:21Stand right there,
22:22and I have you right over here.
22:24Boy, this is dangerous,
22:25all these balloons here.
22:27But it's fun,
22:27it's a party!
22:28You could pop one
22:29and scare somebody.
22:30That's true.
22:31Penn,
22:31I'd like you to please select
22:32one balloon to be yours.
22:34One balloon to be mine?
22:35Yes.
22:36Well, I've got to pick
22:37the pink one.
22:38Well, that's a pink one, okay.
22:39Would you like to change your mind?
22:40No.
22:41You want the pink one?
22:42No, yeah.
22:43Thank you so much.
22:45This will be yours.
22:46Okay.
22:47Now, I'm going to give you this.
22:48I'd rather you stab me
22:49than I stab you.
22:51Okay.
22:51Penn, please,
22:53pop your balloon.
22:54Okay.
22:56Pick up that piece of paper.
22:57Boy, you're bossy.
23:00I picked up the piece of...
23:01Shall I open it?
23:02Yeah, open it up.
23:03Show it to the audience.
23:03Show it to the audience, okay.
23:05What name do we have?
23:06We have Pebbles.
23:08Pebbles.
23:09So, pink one Pebbles.
23:12Either a cereal
23:13or a cartoon character,
23:15depending on your age.
23:16Or a fish now.
23:17Or they could be.
23:18Could be.
23:18Now, Penn,
23:19somewhere else
23:20there's another balloon,
23:21could be any color,
23:22with the same name,
23:23Pebbles,
23:24written inside.
23:24I want you to please
23:25burst the remaining four balloons.
23:27Okay.
23:28Pop them all.
23:28I get Pebbles here,
23:30and you watch out.
23:31I've got you.
23:32Pick up that piece of paper,
23:33and you keep going.
23:34Okay.
23:36And just show it to the audience.
23:37Pick it up, pick it up.
23:39I've got yours.
23:40It's not mine.
23:48Thank you so much, Penn.
23:51You can stand right over here.
23:52Okay.
23:52I still got this.
23:53You can have it.
23:54It's a souvenir.
23:54So, we have Sharknado,
23:57Wiggles,
23:59Butterball,
24:00and Pickles.
24:01Okay.
24:02Thank you so much, guys.
24:03You can have that
24:03and take your seats.
24:05None of those match.
24:06No.
24:07Pebbles.
24:09Wait.
24:10Brooke,
24:10will you please
24:11join me over here?
24:11Sure.
24:12We haven't popped your balloon.
24:14Say what?
24:15We haven't popped Brooke's.
24:16Brooke,
24:18will you please
24:20do me the honor?
24:21Okay.
24:22Pop your balloon.
24:22Ready?
24:24Pick up that piece of paper.
24:25Pick it up, pick it up.
24:26Let's see.
24:27Open it up.
24:28What name do we have?
24:29I'll take that.
24:30Let's see.
24:32Pebbles.
24:33It's a match.
24:36It's a match.
24:36It's a match.
24:37It's a match.
24:38It's a match.
24:39It's a match.
24:40It's a match.
24:40It's a match.
24:41It's a match.
24:41It's a match.
24:42It's a match.
24:42It's a match.
24:43I have to ask you Robin, including so many people in your act, does that make it more complicated?
24:58Are there so many things that could go wrong?
25:00Yes, because every balloon, literally, anyone can take them home, they all have different names.
25:05So everything could have changed by whoever pen picked, like everything could have been different.
25:10So Pebbles is the name?
25:11Yes, Pebbles.
25:12And it's a real fish.
25:14Were you into magic before you met your husband?
25:16We kind of got started on it together.
25:18We do mentalism and mind reading.
25:20Oh, wow.
25:20Yeah.
25:21Well, Robin, I can't read Penn and Teller's minds.
25:23I don't know if you can, but we're going to have to ask them.
25:26Perfect.
25:27Guys, did she fool you?
25:28Well, I've got to tell you, when we first put this show together, whatever that was, 13, 14 years ago,
25:35I said to tell her, if we do this show, we can stay on the air, someone will do a balloon drop.
25:41So our dream has come true.
25:44Our work here is done.
25:45You're going to do a balloon drop.
25:47I tell you, if you want big and colorful, do a balloon drop.
25:54Yeah.
25:54You've got so much going on here.
25:56You've got all the balloons on stage, in the audience, you've got your friend at the table, the pebbles there.
26:02You've got all that set up.
26:04It's just a beautiful thing.
26:06People in the audience with all those names.
26:08But I think one of the things that might not be credited enough in the history of this trick is that that last balloon was popped behind my back.
26:18It was impressive.
26:20I'll tell you, Teller said, we know how hard it is to put things into this many balloons.
26:25And the truth is, we don't.
26:27We make our crew do it.
26:28But we've heard them complain to us how hard it is to put slips of paper into balloons.
26:36If it were up to two of us, we'd put nothing in the balloons.
26:39It's just too much work.
26:41But you have all of these out here with all the names in it.
26:45You had to come up with 100 names.
26:48And you had to figure out.
26:49You know, it's just amazing that the pebbles match.
26:52I really did pick the people at random.
26:55They really do have different names.
26:57It was really a phenomenal trick.
26:59And we absolutely loved it.
27:01And I tried to sneak in stuff besides popping behind my back.
27:06Do you understand, people?
27:07I popped behind my back and snuck in code words.
27:12We think it was a great routine.
27:14But we don't think you fooled us.
27:17But we're often wrong about that.
27:19What do you think, Brooke?
27:20Well, it means nothing to me, Robin.
27:22And what do you think?
27:23I think they got it.
27:25Yeah.
27:26Come on, go.
27:27We worked hard for that.
27:28We left with the disease.
27:30It was a great act, Robin.
27:31Thank you so much.
27:34Come back and see us, Robin.
27:39More of TV's best magic still to come when Fool Us returns.
27:52We're glad you're back.
27:58So far, one magician has fooled our boys.
28:00Can our next performer do the same?
28:02Let's meet them right now.
28:04Hi, I'm Magic San from Spain.
28:10For me, magic has always been about taking risks.
28:13It's been my dream to perform on Fula's.
28:16And here in Las Vegas, the stakes are higher than ever.
28:20And that's what makes it exhilarating.
28:21I am a carpenter by day and a magician by night.
28:27My act is entirely my own creation.
28:30A one-of-a-kind Russian roulette.
28:33I make all my own props.
28:35And my skills as a carpenter have been invaluable in crafting tonight's act.
28:40Testing the act was very scary.
28:42But I can assure you is now safe and ready to amaze.
28:46I hope.
28:46The idea of possibly fooling Penn and Teller is both daunting and thrilling.
28:52I'm turning my dreams into a higher stakes reality.
29:04I've been told that things are about to get dangerous with this next trick from Magic Stamp.
29:13Otra vez la escalera.
29:15Otra vez la sal.
29:18El regato.
29:22Cualquier día va a pasar algo.
29:24Ya verás.
29:24People have love, superstition about things that cause bad luck.
29:31Really, I think that it's all a bunch of...
29:33Oh, sorry.
29:35That's me, in English.
29:37I'm so lucky.
29:39But I think that nothing could bring me bad luck.
29:42And now, I'm going to try to prove it tonight.
29:45In this machine, there are four slots.
29:49Three of the horn.
29:51Very sharp knives.
29:52It's one held in place with a ball.
29:55Let me show you what happens if I pull out the ball.
29:57And the last one, no knife.
30:10Now that you know how this works, I will reset the machine.
30:14Mm-hmm.
30:17Mm-hmm.
30:19Aquí.
30:21Esto aquí.
30:24I'll do it behind this panel.
30:25So no one has any idea where the trip nights are.
30:29The last day, I saw you and I cut it.
30:33Well.
30:35Let's go with the scissors.
30:37And that's what God wants.
30:39The teeth are dying.
30:42Afortunadamente, no it was mine, it was the present.
30:47Oh, it's Elías.
30:49Well, that's what God wants.
30:52What's that?
30:53That's what I want.
30:58Are for you to see, that I don't believe in bad luck.
31:05Mira.
31:08There.
31:11Eh, bro.
31:13Please.
31:16Say a number.
31:17I wait my place, my very food, and the lid.
31:20If an ivy's here, I get my food stabbed.
31:24Yes, you are right.
31:26And only a lucky gay.
31:28Vayan also.
31:29A little bit crazy.
31:31Eh, one, two, three, or four?
31:35Tres.
31:36Sí, tres.
31:37Mira qué bien.
31:38Eh, okay.
31:41We have a number.
31:42Let's see what would happen if we was chosen a different band.
31:50Madre mía.
31:53Are you there?
31:54Are you there?
31:54Are you there?
31:54Eh, eh, eh.
31:57Eh, no, tell me.
31:58Do you change the number, yes, or no?
32:01Cambio?
32:02No.
32:02No?
32:02No, no, no.
32:03Oh, okay, okay.
32:04Oh, my God.
32:05Oh, my God.
32:08Oh.
32:10Oh.
32:11As you can see, I stay a lucky gay.
32:15And now look.
32:21Will I still be lucky?
32:24You really don't believe in bad luck.
32:26Brew, brew, brew.
32:27Should I keep my foot where it is?
32:30Yes or no?
32:31Uh, uh.
32:32Yes.
32:34Yes.
32:34Yes.
32:34Yes.
32:45As you can see, bad luck does not exist.
32:48Oh, perhaps, I just go lucky.
32:53Can you tell us a little bit about the creation of this trick?
33:09Can you say something that has to do with the creation of this game?
33:14Well, eh, no siempre salió tan bien.
33:16Las primeras pruebas fueron peligrosas.
33:19We've had a lot of roulette type of tricks on this show, but this one was the scariest.
33:25What do you think makes this so scary?
33:28Bueno, que todo es muy real.
33:31Son cuchillos reales, son...
33:32This is the only trick that I know where you put your foot in danger.
33:38¿Por qué?
33:39Like, why did you choose to do that?
33:41Pues no sé.
33:42Es lo que tiene tener una carpintería y una mente enferma.
33:44Cuando se te ocurre algo, lo hace.
33:46Sick mind.
33:48I believe that.
33:50All right, Sam, let's find out if you fooled Penn and Teller and you're going to be taking
33:54a trophy back to Spain.
33:56¿Listo?
33:57Okay.
33:57Okay, boys.
33:59Ah, Magic Sam.
34:00That's a great routine.
34:01You know, it's, um, uh, we love the anti-superstition thing.
34:05We love you walking right through a ladder in the beginning.
34:08We love the, uh, spilling the salt, the, uh, smash in the mirror right before the ending.
34:13Really beautiful, really funny.
34:15And yellow becomes you.
34:17Looks very, very good.
34:18And you did a wonderful job of, uh, we think, keeping us really nervous while being covered.
34:25And, uh, and also we think that although, uh, your luck held very, very well in, uh, Brooke's
34:34choice of numbers, we think your luck might have run out because we don't think you fooled us.
34:40So, Sam, did they figure out your trick?
34:43Yo creo que sí.
34:45Yeah, I think so.
34:46Yes.
34:46Yeah.
34:47That means yes, everyone.
34:49We love it.
34:50You blew us away.
34:52Good luck to you.
34:53Muchas gracias, Sam.
34:55Woo!
34:57Ah!
34:59Magic Sam.
35:00We're close to the end of the show, but we can't leave you without a trick by Magic's
35:06greatest duo, Penn and Teller.
35:08So stay close.
35:22Welcome back.
35:23Here to close the show, along with seven members of our studio audience, give it up for Penn
35:28and Teller.
35:28A lot of you people signed this envelope, right?
35:36We asked you all to sign it.
35:37Did you all sign it?
35:38Yeah.
35:39You all signed it.
35:40Good.
35:40Now, Brooke said we had seven members of the audience up here, and that's true as far as
35:45it goes, but it's more than that.
35:47We asked for seven people who were skeptical.
35:51Seven people who thought that maybe we used stooges, that maybe we had paid confederates
35:59among the audience.
35:59We wanted the seven most skeptical people up here.
36:03So we're about to do something that no magicians in history have ever dared to do.
36:09We're going to do magic with every pain in the ass in the audience right up here.
36:16I get a deck of cards here, okay?
36:18This is not a card trick.
36:19You should just take one card.
36:20Just pass them out.
36:21Pull them out here.
36:22See, these are the people that think that even though Fool Us never allows stooges, we never
36:28allowed paid confederates for us or for any other magicians.
36:31These are the people that said, well, I don't really trust the people on stage.
36:35Maybe they're all set up.
36:37And you look, they all have microphones on.
36:39We took them backstage and mic'd them, but we set up nothing.
36:43Brooke, they've all got cards.
36:45Yes.
36:45Name a number, one to ten.
36:47Eight.
36:47Eight.
36:48Who has an eight?
36:48You have an eight.
36:49Come up here.
36:49You're in charge.
36:50Stand behind the Bible.
36:52Put your hands on this Bible.
36:54Make sure nothing changes about that Bible.
36:57Now, we need three of you.
36:58There's six of you here.
37:00Wanted to get it to three.
37:01Now, if I choose which three, you're going to think they're stooges.
37:04So, we're going to do Rochambeau.
37:06Rock, paper, scissors.
37:08You two.
37:09Rochambeau.
37:09You two.
37:11Rochambeau.
37:11You two.
37:12Rochambeau.
37:13Winners, stand right up here.
37:16Come on.
37:16Quick.
37:16Winners, come up here.
37:17Come on.
37:17Stand right here.
37:18Hey, you don't need the card anymore.
37:19We're done with the cards.
37:20Stand right here.
37:22What are you doing?
37:22Tying every time?
37:24Good.
37:24Get up here.
37:24Get up here.
37:25Get up here.
37:25Stand right here.
37:27Now, we are going to choose one book of the Bible.
37:31You hold the Bible there.
37:32You got your hand on the Bible.
37:33Keep holding it there.
37:34We're going to choose one book of the Bible using the books of the Bible dartboard.
37:41You are going to pick the book of the Bible by throwing darts at the Bible.
37:45Some people might think we got someone sneaking behind here using magnets, something like
37:50this.
37:50You, sir, come over here.
37:51Stand right there on that T, would you please?
37:53You check behind there.
37:55Make sure no one sneaks behind there.
37:57Make sure no one does anything.
37:58Now, you are going to stand behind this T right here, okay?
38:04And you are going to throw a dart up there.
38:06Now, whichever book of the Bible you choose, we will go with.
38:11If you hit the center, you can choose anyone you want.
38:14But know this.
38:15The instant you throw a dart at the books of the Bible, you will eventually end up in hell.
38:23Go.
38:23Throw it, throw it, throw it, throw it, throw it.
38:27Boom, right there.
38:28You're right into acts.
38:30So why don't you act like you're done and sit down?
38:33Right over here.
38:34Stand right there.
38:35Throw it up there.
38:38Okay.
38:39Game in low.
38:39You are in Deuteronomy.
38:41And here is a dart for you right there.
38:44Stand behind the T.

39:28Roll them down here.
39:29Come on, roll them down.

39:526 plus 2 equals 8.
39:54So turn to chapter 8 in Deuteronomy.
39:56When you get to chapter 8, tell me how many verses are there?
40:008.

40:09Pains in the asses on stage.
40:11We had them do Rochambeau.
40:13No way to control that.
40:15They got 3 books of the Bible thrown with darts.
40:18We then had that voted on by the same pains in the asses.
40:22We then got down to Deuteronomy.
40:24We then rolled Tumble and Dice from the back of the theater.
40:27We got a 2 and a 6.
40:29We added that up.
40:30You've chosen 8.
