LIONS CAPTURED IN STUNNING WATER REFLECTIONS WITH PIX AND VID By Shuk Yee Tsang A breathtaking photograph has revealed six lions perfectly mirrored in the still waters of a South African watering hole. Sean Weekly, a wildlife photographer from Bristol, UK, spent countless nights in hides across the bush, patiently waiting for the perfect shot. While elephants, impalas, antelopes, and waterbucks all came to drink, each leaving striking reflections of their own, it was the appearance of a lioness and her five cubs that transformed his persistence into something unforgettable. After more than eleven hours in silence, just before dawn, a lioness emerged from the shadows with her cubs in tow. Together, they approached the water and lined up side by side, creating an extraordinary moment of symmetry and stillness. Weekly describes the scene as the ultimate reward for years of determination, with hundreds of hours spent chasing the elusive sight of cats at night. The rare images highlight not only the beauty of Africa’s wildlife but also the patience and perseverance behind capturing the perfect frame. Sean Weekly said, “Nights in a hide are rarely easy. Most nights, I walked away with nothing but tired eyes and empty memory cards. “For years, I poured time and energy into night photography, always chasing the hope of a cat. “Then came this night. A lioness, moving out from the shadows of the bush. And behind her, five cubs. “They approached the waterhole in silence and, as if perfectly planned, lined up side by side. “Six lions. One moment. And the most unforgettable image I’ve ever taken from a hide.” ENDS
