00:00Hi Mr Jackson, a personal memory with Giorgio Armani, can you share with us a memory with Giorgio Armani?
00:09Well my initial meeting with him in 2000 when I was coming here to make arrangements, wear clothes and the movie Shaft and we met for the first time and struck up a great relationship and from that point on he was kind of like a go to person for me.
00:30All my life I had you know read about Giorgio Armani and gone by and not into the stores because I couldn't afford what he was selling but when I had an opportunity to meet and be a part of his custom world and it was a great honor for me and you know my mother taught me a long time there are certain kinds of things that don't go out of style and he was that person so I was very fortunate to be a part of it.
01:00And what's the meaning of being here tonight?
01:03Well to pay homage to his memory, my wife and I became great admirers and great friends when we came over and he actually dressed me for a big music show in London where I had to change clothes about 20 times.
01:19And she actually personally showed up and fitted me and all the clothes that I had to wear as she was here.
01:24We got to go to what's the formal clothes that they were in?
01:30It was pre-bay.
01:31Yeah, it was pre-bay.
01:33And she got things, I got things and we've just been able to connect with this family, you know, Roberta and all the people that are surviving and will carry the company on.
01:47They're great friends of ours and we hope that we'll be able to help carry on that legacy in some way.
