00:00Previously on Project Runway All-Stars.
00:02Hey!
00:03Your unconventional materials challenge
00:05is to create runway looks from toys.
00:09You've got dragons.
00:11What is that, dinosaur?
00:14The stress is real, ain't it?
00:16What the? Why are you crying?
00:18Why are you asking the baby?
00:20Oh, my God.
00:21I'm going to do unconventional,
00:23but I have the right not to like it.
00:25The look transcended the materials it was made of
00:29and delivered full-on couture.
00:32The winner is Victor.
00:33Oh, my God!
00:36Mila, Laurence, and Rami.
00:39You all missed the mark for different reasons.
00:41I'm so sorry, but Mila,
00:43unfortunately, tonight, you are out.
00:49Just one more time.
00:55Fashion designer Christian Siriano.
00:58Journalist Elaine Welteroff,
01:00fashion designer Brandon Maxwell,
01:02and editor-in-chief of Elle magazine Nina Garcia
01:05are looking for America's next great fashion designer.
01:08At stake for the winner,
01:10a quarter of a million dollars
01:12supplied by Pilot Friction erasable pens,
01:14a feature in Elle magazine,
01:16and a career-changing mentorship
01:18with the Council of Fashion Designers of America.
01:21This is Project Runway All-Stars.
01:28You okay?
01:29Hi, sister.
01:30Now I'm coming here to hug you.
01:31It's okay.
01:33It's tough.
01:34Guys, it's tough.
01:35Love you.
01:36Listen, you're gonna get softer by the end of this conversation.
01:38On my season, I never rocked the bottom,
01:40not a single time.
01:41Yeah, I'm good.
01:42So you gotta rebuild yourself.
01:44Make sure that they see you the next time.
01:46Yeah, that was a wild one, right?
01:47That was really crazy.
01:48Everyone's so good that you just never really know.
01:51Get some rest, and I'll see you real soon.
01:54Ooh, mystery.
01:56Bye.
01:57Mystery.
01:58So what are you feeling the next challenges, you guys?
02:00Honestly, after this,
02:01it's either gonna be like bridal or like...
02:05I'm all about a drag queen.
02:07Give me a drag queen.
02:08Me too.
02:13It's the queen.
02:24Long live the king.
02:26That's me.
02:28Done with this.
02:30Okay.
02:31The world just witnessed a historic coronation
02:34right across the pond.
02:36And in celebration of this momentous occasion,
02:39we want you to create
02:41a formal gown fit for royalty.
02:46Oh, my goodness.
02:47Yes!
02:49Keep in mind,
02:50gowns can go quite dated very quickly,
02:53so this needs to feel modern, fresh.
02:55Royal of today, you know.
02:59Cool, innovative.
03:00And the good news is
03:03we're dividing you up into teams of two.
03:05We're dividing you up into teams of two.
03:10We dread team challenges so much
03:12because it's about compromising.
03:14One, two, one, two.
03:16Fitting that we're working with monarchy
03:18because there's a lot of diplomacy involved.
03:20So, to determine the teams,
03:23everyone's gonna grab one of these fabulous
03:25little tea sandwiches.
03:27Okay?
03:28But don't take a bite.
03:29Grab one.
03:30Okay.
03:31Ladies first.
03:32Oh, thank you.
03:33You guys are gonna find someone
03:35who has the same sandwich as you,
03:37and that will be your teammate.
03:39Who has watercress tomato and cream cheese?
03:41That's me and you, baby.
03:43Woo-hoo!
03:44Victor won the last challenge,
03:46and I won the first challenge,
03:47so we are the two winners.
03:48Excellent!
03:49Excellent!
03:50Woo!
03:51Coronation chicken.
03:52Oh, my gosh.
03:53I'm so happy.
03:55We're about to get this, Pat, man.
03:57We are.
03:58Oh, my goodness.
03:59Even though you're in a team of two,
04:02only one of you will be going home.
04:05Damn.
04:06This is a two-day challenge.
04:08Victor, you won the last challenge.
04:10That means your team gets first pick of models.
04:13Oh.
04:14Isn't that nice?
04:15Yeah.
04:16One look, one model.
04:18There you go.
04:19You pick.
04:20You mean Jessica?
04:21Jessica M.
04:22Jessica M.
04:23We're done.
04:24All right.
04:25Who'd you pick?
04:26Wren.
04:27Fab.
04:28Who'd you pick?
04:29Jessica M.
04:30Let me see.
04:31Roberta.
04:32Fabulous.
04:33We're doing Mimi.
04:34Sarah.
04:35We're taking me.
04:36All right, so tomorrow morning,
04:38you'll go to Mood.
04:39I won't be there.
04:40I have royal obligations, obviously.
04:41Oh, wow.
04:42How are you building?
04:43But each team will have a budget of $1,000.
04:47Not bad.
04:48You guys have 30 minutes now to brainstorm and sketch.
04:52I left your friction pens and your sketchbooks
04:54right over there.
04:55Bye-bye.
04:56Bye-bye.
04:57So my fabric from home was given to me by a childhood friend.
04:59This wasn't made for royalty.
05:00I don't know what was.
05:01Oh, honey.
05:02Yeah.
05:03I want to do African-Haitian, like black royalty.
05:04So project is from Haiti and I'm originally from Liberia.
05:06So immediately we know we're going for African-Haitian royalty.
05:09This is what this fabric was for.
05:10The girl to walk.
05:11And I want the judges to be like, ugh.
05:12Not just the jewels and all that, but the movement.
05:13I agree.
05:14Water.
05:15And maybe the back is like literally a cape with a train.
05:18Yeah.
05:19I'm thinking, what about this?
05:20What about if it's not around this way?
05:21I think it goes up like a tree.
05:22I think it goes up like a tree.
05:23Yeah.
05:24Yeah.
05:25Yeah.
05:26Yeah.
05:27Yeah.
05:28Yeah.
05:29Yeah.
05:30Yeah.
05:31Yeah.
05:32I'm thinking, what about this?
05:34What about if it's not around this way?
05:36Okay.
05:37It goes up like a metal, like a flower.
05:41I like the romantic aspect of it because it's feminine.
05:45You're cool feminine.
05:46Yes.
05:47Mixing those two like elements.
05:48I'm actually really, really excited to have Anna as a partner.
05:50We're both extremely feminine designers.
05:53Okay.
05:54And it's like two skirts and one.
05:56You hop on it.
05:57Okay.
05:58We are genderqueer.
06:00I feel like it's an opportunity to make a gown fit the aesthetic that we have.
06:05Yeah.
06:06We can look at queendom in kind of a genderqueer, genderfluid way where we're sort of subverting
06:11the idea of what queen is and subverting the idea of what a gown is.
06:15The future of queerdom.
06:16I honestly have a strong connection to the idea of femininity.
06:19However, the way I see myself doesn't always align with the way femininity is described in this modern world.
06:26So I am here to be that voice.
06:28We're really looking to make a statement of peace about queer identity, about what it means to be a queen, what it means to be regal in the future of what we see as this kind of gender free, gender fluid world.
06:39I love this.
06:40Like this is gorgeous.
06:41Yeah.
06:42This is my number one love.
06:43And this is literally, I've been working with this.
06:45We're on the same page.
06:46Yeah.
06:47I work on a cape.
06:48You work on a gown.
06:49Yeah.
06:50I know I can make a dope ass cape.
06:52I love my girl, Laurence.
06:54She's so gangster.
06:55We need to make sure that the dress and the cape fabric marries well.
07:01A sleeve and neckline detail could be really interesting if we do want to do sculpture.
07:05I think that you have really cool shape.
07:07I am excited to be paired with someone who is extremely talented.
07:12This gown that we are creating is about to be a masterpiece.
07:15You don't want her to feel old.
07:17I want to make sure she's like...
07:18Right.
07:19For sure.
07:20Team challenges are a challenge.
07:23It's partly about the design, but it's also partly about your working style with other
07:27people.
07:28All right, guys.
07:29Let's go home.
07:30Let's get it.
07:31It's been a long day.
07:32Woo-hoo!
07:33Coming up.
07:34I want to be the leader.
07:35I want to do something different.
07:36I am not here to execute her vision.
07:39Yeah, I know how to do it.
07:40That was unpleasant.
07:41This challenge is going to get harder and harder.
07:51One day you're in, one day you're out.
07:53You're only as good as your last.
07:56It's awesome.
07:57You won the first challenge.
07:58I won the second.
07:59There's a little target on her back.
08:00Yeah.
08:01You're unstoppable.
08:02Okay, friends.
08:03It's time to go to Mood.
08:06Good morning, Mood.
08:11I can smell the fabric already.
08:13Designers.
08:14Christian is currently in my basement.
08:17Yeah.
08:18Thousand dollars.
08:19Christ.
08:20Half an hour to have this bitch up.
08:23Are you ready?
08:24Yes!
08:25Yes!
08:26Let's go!
08:27Uh, Sharma's satin style.
08:28I'll put people right and left.
08:29Organza.
08:30We're seeing these three here.
08:31Mm-hmm.
08:32With this overlay.
08:33Picking gray as a color story is really intentional because gray is a color that does not dictate
08:43gender.
08:44We're keeping everything separate.
08:45Over the pants, there's a skirt.
08:46And then over this vest, there is a set of sleeves that harness everything in.
08:50I like this.
08:51Yeah.
08:52This design is dedicated for an everyday woman.
08:54She could be a housewife.
08:56She could be a mother.
08:57But they still deserve to have, you know, a royal moment while wearing this beautiful gown.
09:01I'm going to take these for sure.
09:03This one, I'm just going to take four because they're so expensive.
09:05A thousand dollars is not really fit for a queen.
09:08I mean, come on.
09:09We had $2,000 to spend on toys the last challenge.
09:11How much is this 150?
09:12200.
09:13It's 200?
09:14Yeah.
09:15No way.
09:16Really?
09:17How much more do we have left?
09:18500.
09:19Left?
09:20I'm about to buy the store.
09:21The fact that I'm using my special fabric from home actually takes off a whole thousand
09:26dollars that we won't have to spend in mood.
09:28She's giving Haiti in.
09:29Yeah.
09:30Yeah, she is giving Haiti.
09:31We're looking for our masterpiece solid, the foundation of this garment.
09:36I think it might look good because it's patent.
09:38It looks rich.
09:39Victor really wanted to use a silver metallic leather.
09:42That's a little bit harder than my normal style, but I want to give him that moment.
09:46He's really adamant about it.
09:47So I'm like, you know what?
09:48Go ahead and get it.
09:49We can always choose to not use it later.
09:51Two minutes!
09:52We have everything else, notions and stuff, right?
09:53Yeah, we good.
09:54I like to be crown king.
09:58I think this lining is a little bit like warm from the color from here.
10:24If this doesn't work out, use layers of this one will be fine too.
10:27I would say 90% of us are very type A control freaks.
10:31I am both of those things, as well as high strong.
10:35I can't pass.
10:36I do the skirt.
10:37I gotta, I gotta pat the waist.
10:39I want to be the leader.
10:40I want to do something different.
10:41But I know Brittany has a very strong opinions all the time.
10:46Ah, this color, Victor, is so good.
10:49So rich.
10:50Victor and I are making this amazing royal purple silk Georgette gown
10:56with a metallic leather corset.
10:59That one.
11:00Paja and I being miraculously like put together as like the gods in themselves said,
11:05you know what?
11:06Be one.
11:07We decided to do a robe and a blue metallic.
11:10So once you think you got it, boom, it drops.
11:13And there's this really beautiful gown.
11:15I mean, I'm thinking about it.
11:16Does she have to be long in the front?
11:18She don't really have to, right?
11:19We could do the high low.
11:20I love it.
11:21So we'll see her lips.
11:22Which is very, yes.
11:23Very sexy.
11:24Very sexy.
11:25We can do pants and vests out of this.
11:27Exactly.
11:28And the sleeves out of this and the skirt out of this.
11:29I believe true fashion embraces masculinity and femininity and creates an entirely new other form of gender representation.
11:36That's me beautiful.
11:37Yeah.
11:38So Fabio and I are really trying to treat this challenge as a chance for us to be a spokesperson for the queer generation.
11:44I'm feeling the vibes.
11:46What vibes?
11:47Like the good vibes, man.
11:49You're the sweetest partner ever, man.
11:52Since I've been on Project Runway, I had the opportunity to dress the Queen of Jordan.
11:57Having dressed royalty is like a huge honor for somebody like myself.
12:02When I first got the call, I just didn't believe it.
12:05I thought that it was a joke.
12:06To actually be flown first class and to be greeted at the Mandarin Hotel by Queen of Jordan herself.
12:12It's a moment that I will always remember.
12:17I'm going to go and connect the skirt together.
12:19Okay.
12:20Our girl is definitely a pop culture, like Beyonce.
12:23Or Celine Dion.
12:26This is that queen.
12:27We need to make it more sexy, more modern.
12:29So I'm making a corset in the middle with leather.
12:32That signature touch that if you see it, you know it's mine.
12:35Is that what you're making?
12:37Yeah.
12:38Okay.
12:39It's fine.
12:40Whatever.
12:41Like you can just give the room for this part.
12:44And then you gather and you praise the folks, right?
12:47Yeah, I know how to gather.
12:48I am not here to execute her vision.
12:51Just want to make it out of this team challenge alive.
12:53Who's the role you miss, bitch?
12:54Ow!
12:55Rami and I are creating a gown that has a very architectural detail but classic elements.
12:59I feel like it's more flattering if they found out.
13:00When we do the heavy appliques, you won't see that seam at all.
13:01Yes, that's what I did before.
13:02No, you won't see it at all.
13:03I think we knew straight off where our queen was from.
13:04Paris for you since you were born in Paris.
13:05And Germany for me since I was born in Germany.
13:06That's right.
13:07And thank you for adding the military twist for me since I'm an Air Force bride.
13:08Oh, you're welcome.
13:09A little black queen with a European twist.
13:10You know?
13:11I don't really want to say that her style is not mine.
13:12She is totally separate and she is with herselfétait and his hair around.
13:13So, I'm not just paying attention from her in Paris.
13:14Hey, hey, how does this take to look for her?
13:15I don't know why.
13:16Who does that take to look for?
13:17Um, I'm not great.
13:18I think that's the same look for her hair.
13:19And there's no sexual detail but classic elements.
13:20I feel like it's more flattering if they found out.
13:21When we do the heavy appliques, you won't see that seam at all.
13:22Yes, that's what I did before.
13:23You won't see it at all.
13:24I think we knew straight off where our queen was from.
13:25Paris for you since you were born in Paris.
13:26Pretty much what does that know?
13:27And Germany for me since I was born in Germany.
13:29That's right.
13:30And thank you for adding the military twist for me since I'm an Air Force bride.
13:34Oh, you're welcome.
13:35A little black queen with a European twist, you know?
13:37I don't really want to say that her style is not mine.
13:40She will go fully soft.
13:42You know, I could be soft and hard.
13:44I just like to mix the two together.
13:46The cape is the hard one.
13:47I don't see a queen Lajon's fabric that feels too party to me.
13:52I like all of that.
13:55Breaks my heart, cuts you like this.
13:57The fabric I bought from home is actually one complete fabric.
14:01It's on this nude mesh.
14:03So I'm cutting each one out as Prajay constructs the dress.
14:06She's serving rich bitch realness from Africa.
14:09I like where it's going.
14:11It just sparkles.
14:12We are going to give you the queen of Wakanda, representing us, the people.
14:23Okay, so you got the sleeves, I got pants.
14:27And you're doing the vest now.
14:28Finishing up the vest.
14:29And tomorrow I'm diving into skirt territory.
14:31You got me.
14:32I got you, babe.
14:33That was unpleasant.
14:34Sorry to everyone.
14:35Did it all draped?
14:36I'll help you with that part.
14:38That corset is giving me life now.
14:41Victor and Kane's outfits.
14:43I have so many questions.
14:45So many questions.
14:46Yeah, you know why I think it's going to be successful?
14:49Because it looks like it's like a custom made something.
14:52I don't think they've seen this before.
14:5415 minutes.
14:56I think from there, it's probably going to be ready for fitting.
14:59You've already got the leather corset already ready.
15:01Yeah.
15:02That's a game plan.
15:03I think it's going to be really cool.
15:05This is done.
15:06We have to connect the bodice.
15:08Oh my God.
15:09Yes.
15:10Guys, you ain't got to go home, but you got to get the hell up out of here.
15:15Ready to go.
15:29So how do you feel about the walkthrough tomorrow when Christian walks in?
15:32When Christian comes to like you guys because you like current seasons, it's a different relationship.
15:37And even with the judges.
15:39When you hear like a judge saying, oh, it's so good to see you.
15:42And then you come back after so many years and you don't get any of that warm welcome.
15:46It just feels a bit off.
15:47You know what I mean?
15:48Considering that.
15:49I get that.
15:50What is this?
15:51Yes.
15:52Some of us are OGs.
15:54Some of us are new, but there's two OGs gone.
15:57But you know, like the way it is, they're fresh me.
16:00You know, we've been doing this since the beginning.
16:03There's the respect to be due.
16:04We've been here.
16:05We've done it.
16:06I'm an OG and I still got it.
16:07God's been training me to get me ready.
16:09This is my time now.
16:12Here we go.
16:13Here we go.
16:14Good morning, lovely dresses.
16:18We are back.
16:19Let's have a game plan.
16:21I just want to communicate what's everybody's person's doing.
16:25So that way it's a partnership.
16:26I really want to remind her that this is a partnership.
16:29It is our vision.
16:30I want you to trust me with.
16:31I trust you so much.
16:32Especially the day I worked with you yesterday.
16:35I see how you like seriously like backing all the tour together.
16:39I trust you so much.
16:40Technically.
16:45It looks amazing.
16:46Look how gorgeous.
16:49Oh yeah.
16:50Hello everybody.
16:51Hi Christian.
16:52How are you?
16:53Hi Christian.
16:54Good.
16:55Everyone feeling regal and fabulous?
16:57Yes.
16:58Yes.
16:59Well I love a gown so I'm coming to see you.
17:03Yay.
17:04Okay.
17:07Hello.
17:08Hi.
17:09Hi.
17:10What are we looking at?
17:11This is African standard.
17:12This is African style.
17:13It's for the culture.
17:14Then you know when she gets on the runway.
17:16She gives you that reveal.
17:18Take it off.
17:19And then you have this beautiful dress.
17:21Yeah.
17:22It's a whole look.
17:23Yeah.
17:24Maybe it really just is about making this applique shine.
17:27That's your star.
17:28Which I think you're doing a good job so far.
17:30I think it just has to be like perfect.
17:32All right guys.
17:33Trim trim trim.
17:34Yes.
17:36Bye.
17:37Hello.
17:38What's happening here?
17:39For us we wanted to showcase you don't have to be a queen to have royalty and be boys.
17:45Every woman at some moments in her life wants to have her royal moment and as women who might
17:52even be housewives I feel like sometimes they're the unsung heroes that need to be celebrated.
17:58I do think that this could be something more dramatic because it does feel a little safe.
18:05I just think they're really going to focus on what's so different.
18:08Like things that are a bit off will be better.
18:12So have fun.
18:13Thanks.
18:14I'm happy that Christian is testing us to kind of like bring our best.
18:18I feel like it will add another cool factor to the already amazing gown that we're creating.
18:23I see a cape.
18:24Yes.
18:25So this kind of beautiful velvet leather cape.
18:28And that is the fabric that she brought from home.
18:31I'm known for leather but this is my alternative to leather.
18:35I call this my Versailles fabric that's my little French side.
18:39It looks very rich.
18:40It looks very regal and elegant.
18:42So that's the cape and then what goes underneath?
18:45So we have the...
18:46I see a very icy...
18:48Queen.
18:49Queen over here.
18:51I'm like I think you're channeling something.
18:53I am channeling something.
18:54Yeah.
18:55And this is where I'm thinking because like my dad was in the military forever.
18:58Like this is my mom.
18:59She always had on whites.
19:01She always had on these gloves.
19:03Lots of work.
19:07On the shoulders area here.
19:09I need to see it more finished for me to have a real opinion to be honest with you.
19:18Hello gentlemen.
19:19Well hello Christian.
19:20It's very purple over here.
19:22Yeah.
19:23We both are very inspired by music.
19:25So it's like modern day.
19:26So it's kind of like a music icon.
19:28Exactly.
19:29Yeah.
19:30And we really wanted to marry both of our aesthetics but push it.
19:34Right now it is looking a little bit medieval costume.
19:40Everyone knows that you can make incredible clothes.
19:43So I think you could do something a bit cooler and more modern because you can do this tomorrow in like half an hour.
19:52Like this is not hard.
19:53I mean.
19:54I just.
19:55I mean.
19:56You know what I think it's really important to be a good team player in this challenge.
19:59Cause I do love and respect Victor's work.
20:01It's just tough to decide.
20:03Is this corset cool for this challenge?
20:05Are the judges going to get it?
20:06You could do something really interesting here.
20:08But I.
20:09Okay.
20:10Okay.
20:11You're going to push it.
20:12Bye.
20:13Thanks.
20:14Bye.
20:16Bye.
20:17I'm wondering is this a good idea?
20:18Should we take the corset out?
20:19If I was designing it by myself, I would definitely edit more.
20:23But I think I'm too respectful of Cain and I want to make sure that his voice is on the garment and my voice too.
20:31Who's your royal regal queen moment?
20:35So we're thinking monarch queer.
20:37Yeah.
20:38That's why the pants come into play because we want it to look like it is a gown, but it's also.
20:43For the future.
20:44We're trying to dress the future of what we see as in our culture.
20:46You can just wear what you want to wear.
20:47Be who you want to be.
20:48It doesn't matter.
20:49Exactly.
20:50Literally anyone.
20:51I think for us, the ticket is really the skirt.
20:53We have to go as big as possible.
20:55Fabio and I keep talking about how we need to kind of bump it up into that regal category.
20:58This is a fairy little land we're in.
21:01It is.
21:02Yeah.
21:03So the queen is, she's from this planet.
21:06Oh, she's from another planet.
21:07Her own planet.
21:08And it's all women.
21:09Our queen is the queen of this imaginary planet.
21:13We want to keep this queen very chic, modern.
21:16So this is the top.
21:17Yeah.
21:18And this is the goldie dress.
21:19Clearly it's very fairy-like, very ethereal, romantic.
21:23But it's about making sure this beading is placed.
21:26Sure.
21:27Because it looks like you just stuck them on the skirt.
21:30You got to get this skirt done.
21:31Yeah.
21:32You have a lot to do.
21:33It took me six hours to make the skirt.
21:36I'm not sure if I can finish this dress on time.
21:39That looks like you stuck it on with a hot glue.
21:41Okay.
21:42I can see that.
21:43That's fair.
21:44I don't know if that's a good idea.
21:45Okay.
21:46I'm just like, now I'm confused.
21:47I do think it looks period right now.
21:48But I think if we soften parts of it, I think it's going to work.
22:03At least get this done before she gets here.
22:07We can put, like, the small ones there and get it heavy and then...
22:10So you think I just put the whole fabric on it?
22:14Our plans are matching.
22:16Yeah, it looks gorgeous.
22:17The more that we work on this look, the more I can see the actual inspiration of the challenge come to life.
22:23I actually came out to my mom in the midst of having her accept my choice to go to fashion school as a career choice.
22:34It was a very hard struggle for the both of us until I became a finalist for Project Romeo.
22:39You've arrived.
22:40That moment changed everything for us.
22:42And that's why I keep coming back.
22:44I'm really thankful.
22:45Thank you, Mom.
22:47Oh, there he is.
22:48Hi, designers.
22:49Hey.
22:50Hi, Christian.
22:51Oh, Lord.
22:52All right.
22:53Let the model fitting begin.
22:54Woo!
22:55Yes!
22:56Model.
22:57Yeah.
22:59Look at our queen.
23:00You look so pretty.
23:03I can get you started in the pants.
23:06We are thinking of using this fabric for the head wrap.
23:10It has to be that.
23:11Yeah.
23:12Serving them goddess.
23:13No.
23:14It's gonna be sheer.
23:15The bag's gonna be open.
23:16We're gonna make it dramatic.
23:17The beading is sophisticated, but you gotta make it, like, modern and young and fresh.
23:22I like the idea of making it see-through and sexy here and opening the back.
23:26Oh, thank God.
23:27Wow.
23:28It's giving a little icy.
23:29Wear her skates.
23:30I do not want any skating reference because, first of all, it doesn't look like a skating
23:35outfit.
23:36I wish they connected somehow a little bit more because they feel really different.
23:40Maybe there's one thing that you could do.
23:43To marry this.
23:44To marry it.
23:45Okay.
23:46This, where the crinoline is, is creating quite a shelf.
23:51We were going for fullness.
23:53Maybe there's ways that you can create volume with just the tulle.
23:57Uh-huh.
23:58Or there's peplums or overlays or shapes or something else.
24:03It is too late to make it from the pretty to edgy.
24:09We just have to finish this dress.
24:11Is the armor gone?
24:13No.
24:14No.
24:15We wanted to do a modernized portrait collar.
24:18Uh-huh.
24:19Are you gagging over it?
24:20Do you love it?
24:21I'm almost there.
24:23You're covering up the most beautiful part?
24:25We don't know.
24:27You guys play around with this.
24:29It's getting there.
24:30Still needs some refining.
24:31I mean, she's kind of something else.
24:32I'm in love with her.
24:33She's something else.
24:34She's something else.
24:35Just a bit fucking iron there.
24:37Yeah.
24:38Mmm.
24:39I don't know what this pant is.
24:41It's not the most beautiful fitting pant.
24:43Yeah.
24:44Fab.
24:45I think we can assume that the skirt works, the top works, and the harness works.
24:48Yeah.
24:49And we should just flip those pants inside out and pin them and take them in right now.
24:53All right, designers.
24:54Say goodbye to your models.
24:55Goodbye.
24:56Goodbye.
24:57Goodbye.
24:58Bye.
24:59All right, designers.
25:00I'll see you guys tomorrow.
25:01Good luck.
25:02It's going to be a stunning show.
25:03Oh.
25:04Four hours, please.
25:05Good.
25:06Well, it looks good.
25:07I'm just going to go ahead and put this on until we'll just give it length.
25:10And if it's too long, I can just shred it.
25:12Okay.
25:13I'm sorry.
25:14It's time.
25:15No.
25:16No.
25:17Just call it a nap.
25:18Is it raining?
25:19Oh my God, I'm melting.
25:20I'm melting.
25:27Jesus.
25:28Okay.
25:29Feels like I was just here five minutes ago.
25:32Hi, everybody.
25:33Hi.
25:34Loving the suit.
25:35Good morning.
25:36All right, designers.
25:37Who wants a model?
25:38Woo.
25:39Pretty girls.
25:40Hi.
25:41Good, good.
25:42Hi.
25:43Hi, love.
25:44How are you doing?
25:45Turn to Hester.
25:46Last minute.
25:47Perfect.
25:48Beautiful.
25:49Is this dramatic enough at the shoulder?
25:52Okay.
25:53Can I have a little...
25:56All right, designers.
25:57When you're ready, take your models to the makeup studio and the Trésame hair salon.
26:03Hi.
26:04How are you?
26:05How are you?
26:06We love the baby hairs.
26:07This is like natural beauty on max.
26:12Did it.
26:13Yes.
26:14Oh, I love it.
26:15All right, designers.
26:1615 minutes.
26:1715 minutes.
26:18Can I snap it?
26:19Yeah.
26:20Can you hold it?
26:21All right, designers.
26:22That's time.
26:23All right.
26:24Trim, trim, trim.
26:25All right, designers.
26:26One minute.
26:27Let me just put on this side a little bit.
26:28Do you think I need to stitch this more or you think we're good?
26:29I think we're good.
26:30All right, designers.
26:31That's it.
26:32We did it, girlfriend.
26:33You guys ready?
26:34All right.
26:35Yes.
26:36Yes.
26:37It's gonna be a gorgeous show.
26:38Hi, everyone.
26:39Hi.
26:40Well, you look fabulous today.
26:42Somebody understood the assignment.
26:43Yes.
26:44Well, we got all dressed up for you for this runway show.
26:46I didn't get the dress up memos.
26:47Somebody get him a crown, please.
26:48It's my honor to introduce our guest judge for this challenge.
26:51He's dressed American royalty, Michelle Obama, cinematic royalty, Gwyneth Paltrow, and my good friend, Wes Gordon.
26:53Bye, guys.
26:54Bye, guys.
26:55Bye.
26:56Bye.
26:57Bye.
26:58Bye.
26:59Bye.
27:00Bye.

27:16Bye.
27:17Bye.
27:18Bye.
27:19Bye.
27:20Bye.
27:21Bye.
27:22Bye.
27:23Bye.
27:26It's Wes Gordon, one of my favorite designers of all time.
27:27I'm so excited to be here today.
27:28And I'm so excited to see this incredible challenge and the pieces you've made.
27:32Coyne Herrera is amazing.
27:33This is my brand.
27:35That's it.
27:36All right.
27:37Let's bring on the gowns and start the show.
27:45We're not expecting to win this challenge.
27:49In this challenge, I hope we're just safe.
27:51I think that we're both thankful
27:53that we made something really pretty and that it's over.
28:00I think we just did a pretty gown
28:03rather than having something different.
28:12Roberta literally looks like European royalty.
28:16I couldn't be happier.
28:19I love the glove reference, yes, baby.
28:26After rocking the bottom on the previous episode,
28:29this is my redemption.
28:32I'm putting myself on the top.
28:40Wow!
28:46A gown for a royal needs to be loud.
28:49This is Game of Thrones.
28:50Our look is perfect for this challenge of gown for royalty.
29:02Rihanna, Beyonce, JLo, Gaga, they would all wear this gown, no question.
29:07My heart is about to explode just by seeing the silhouette behind the scrim.
29:17Yes, off of their heads, honey.
29:19Yeah.
29:20If the judges did not pick this as a top look, I will lose it today because this is impeccable.
29:37I'm feeling amazing to see my look go down the runway.
29:50Rami and I spent so much time creating such a chic and modern gown.
29:54We're really well made for 15 hours.
29:57Incredible, extraordinary.
29:58The gown fits her like a glove.
30:02The train looks really beautiful.
30:06The way the sleeve wraps around from the shoulder down to the cape.
30:10It's a sculpture.
30:11It's really beautiful.
30:12I'm so proud of it.
30:13You better serve.
30:26She comes out and is like, whoa, girl.
30:29I'm even like, who made this?
30:30Oh, we made it?
30:31Oh, okay.
30:32I cannot tell who in the hell is hers.
30:35You can see this regal, royal, young queen.
30:46Thank you, guys.
30:48Bravo.
30:49Thank you, Nina.
30:50Well done.
30:51There were no bad looks tonight.
30:53Can all of you please step up to the runway?
31:00Designers, we've scored your designs, and we would like to speak to all of you.
31:04That's a twist.
31:05There will be a winning and a losing team, and someone from the losing team will be out.
31:19Designers, we've scored your designs.
31:22The winner will come from the winning team, and someone from the losing team will be out.
31:27All right, let's get the first look out here.
31:31I knew I heard her.
31:34Hi.
31:39Rami, Bhishmi.
31:40Hello.
31:41Talk about your partnership.
31:42Tell us about your look.
31:43We did an amazing job with just intersecting our strengths with each other.
31:48Understanding, like, what's the best thing that we can do for a woman that we feel like should be queen and not just coming from a royal family.
31:55Did you guys think about we're going to go safe?
31:58We wanted to take elements from classic things and incorporate them in a new, modern way.
32:02I really enjoyed the simplicity of this classic gown silhouette that we have seen before, but you made it modern. You updated it.
32:10This was one of the chicest dresses. You guys have an amazing understanding of drape and pattern making.
32:17Coming from you, that's a big compliment, so thank you for that.
32:20But is this the one that stands out, like that she is the one being crowned? That's where I'm kind of hesitating.
32:25I particularly love the drape of that half shoulder, which looks like a half cape, but why black?
32:34If it's for everyday woman, like how we were thinking, sticking with black felt like it was a perfect choice for us.
32:41I could see a young royal stepping into this big moment. Where I didn't think that you needed it was in the embroidery.
32:50Give us the modern tiara, the fantastic ponytail.
32:58Bishmi, Rami, thank you. Sarah, you can leave the runway.
33:02Hate to see it go.
33:05Let's get the next look out here.
33:10Oh, that's...
33:14How you doing?
33:15Brittany, Anna, tell us about your look.
33:20So, our queen is from an all-woman planet, kind of like a Wonder Woman situation.
33:26Essentially, the idea at this planet is that every woman is a queen, and we really wanted to, like, keep it modern with embracing, like, the very feminine aspects of what we both do.
33:38My eye immediately went to the train. If you would just turn around, please. It feels wilted. It feels sad and heavy.
33:46Nina?
33:48It feels almost like a costume. Is she nipped at the waist, or is that supposed to be wider?
33:54It looks ill-fitting.
33:56Who did that?
33:58I did the skirt.
34:00Brittany, what did you do?
34:01The corset, top, and then the sleeve.
34:03You know I love you both, so it pains me to say that I don't love this look.
34:09I wish that you gave us something that felt a little bit younger, more modern.
34:15We have seen some really inventive things from both of you.
34:18This is when you really have to tap into who you know you are. It's time to get risky.
34:23Okay.
34:24Anna, Brittany, thank you both.
34:26Thank you, Brendan.
34:27Thank you, doll.
34:29Okay, moving on. Let's get our next look out here.
34:31Oh.
34:33Here we go, Laurence.
34:37Laurence, Kersan, tell us about your collaboration and about your look.
34:42When I think of royalty, I think of a cape and a beautiful gown.
34:46And we really wanted a European queen, like, Laurence was born in Paris.
34:50I'm an Air Force brat. I was born in Germany.
34:53Laurence brought this fabric from home, and I know it's contrasting, but I love it.
34:57Laurence, so why did you choose to use your fabric from home on this challenge?
35:03This is my Parisian inspiration, which, in the beginning, I just wanted to show her the fabric.
35:09I loved that immediately, when your model came on the runway, that I could see a piece of both of you.
35:15Because that so rarely happens when you're paired up together.
35:18This is one of my favorite looks. I love the sheer panels. I love the intelligently placed ruffles. I love the drama of the back.
35:29I think the cape is very chic, very well made. And I think the dress is quite beautiful. I think they have no business being together.
35:35I know that you don't like the cape. I kind of love the cape. I love that play of the black and the white. I really liked it. This was dressing a royalty from the future.
35:46Thank you. Thank you. Thank you, Laurence. Thank you. Thank you, Kira-san. Thank you so much.
35:52Okay, let's get the next look out here.
35:55Oh, it's us. Yes.
35:59Victor, Kane, who is your royal? Where are they going?
36:07Our girl is definitely like Queen Bee, Beyonce, Lady Gaga.
36:13We both dress celebrities and we're like, why don't we do something that we already do?
36:17The leather is me. The softness is hemp. We just want it to go from performance to beauty.
36:23Can you explain where the dress ends and the accessories begin?
36:25So this is all a full dress. This is nude illusion all the way to the neck, also on the leg.
36:30So where does the leg end?
36:31It's sewn into the waist here. To the waist, okay.
36:34So with the exception of the corset, the dress is one piece.
36:38Correct. Wow. Okay.
36:40I found it to be more beautiful when you took the corset off.
36:44Let's take the corset off.
36:46I am stumped of what to say because the work is there, but the accessorizing is so over the top that it's hard for me to consider it as a gown and not a costume.
37:05I am kind of stumped of what to say.
37:17So who did what in this challenge?
37:18Yeah, who took it over the top?
37:19This part was definitely my portion, the corset. Draping and making the pattern was Victor. Victor did the draping of the headpiece and then my main focus was the construction of the bodice.
37:33You two are the winners of the last two challenges.
37:37It's an explosive combination.
37:40If this were a stage performance challenge, you would have run away with the gold medal.
37:47It just was too many things together.
37:51Victor, Kane, thank you so much.
37:53Wren, you can leave the runway.
37:57All right, let's bring the model out.
37:59Hester, Fabio, how did you arrive at this look?
38:07We come from the New York underground queer scene.
38:10We feel like we needed what a gown would look like for us.
38:13Yeah, and what a gown would look like for the world we want to create.
38:15Because we really felt that there wasn't a representation of a queen who fit our perspective.
38:19Mimi, do you mind if we see the pants?
38:22Well, this slips off.
38:23We actually designed a three-look collection so far.
38:26That's so brilliant.
38:28In 15 hours?
38:29An unused reveal.
38:30In 15 hours.
38:31When I saw this, I was like, this is a risk.
38:35But it made me very curious and very pleased.
38:40I personally, and it's subjective, find this fabric to feel a little sad and older.
38:48So we chose this color because to us it felt like the perfect mixture between the black classic and the white classic evening.
38:54So for us as looking at it as a non-binary or gender fluid, we were trying to funnel that into the color of the work.
39:01I love the drape of it.
39:03I love the modernity of it.
39:04I thought it was very successful.
39:06Hester, Fabio, thank you.
39:11Shall we get our final look on the runway?
39:19Kato, Praje.
39:20Hi.
39:21Tell us about your collaboration together.
39:23I'm 100% African, born and raised on the continent, and we wanted to tell the story of a people that were taken to different parts of the world.
39:30Everything we picked was very intentional, from the blue fabric, the flow of it, the waters.
39:36I mean, there was a lot of traveling.
39:37We've gone through so much, and still to this day, still fighting for rights.
39:41So that's why we decided to create our queen.
39:45When she steps into the room, all eyes on her.
39:48This beading here is Kato's fabrics from home.
39:51And I have to give her great props and respect for actually wanting to use that in a team challenge.
39:56You did something with styling that I think was quite important, which is that you used the fabric from the opera coat, which I love, as the headpiece.
40:04If you hadn't done that, I'm not entirely sure how married together the coat and the dress would have been.
40:11But that simple touch made the whole look.
40:14So well done with that.
40:15She looks special.
40:17It's a compliment coming from you.
40:19I thought everything about it was the definition of what this challenge is about.
40:26I've watched Kato for years.
40:28So we knew this moment right there was already defined in the universe.
40:33A lot of my inspirations are here.
40:35That's why this group is so special.
40:37Yeah, like these tears are just tears of joy.
40:40This pot of soup is like ready, and I have something to say.
40:44You have absolutely made the ancestors proud today.
40:47Without African fabric, it's brilliant.
40:50Who did what?
40:51Can you just break it down?
40:53Kato is all over the coat.
40:55I did the dress, and then she definitely did come and help put a placement on this outfit.
41:01I prayed to God, like, Lord, let me guide him and not hurt his feelings, but all these rhinestones can't go on this dress.
41:07Beautiful work, YouTube.
41:09Jessica, you can leave the runway.
41:10Jessica is such a believable queen.
41:12Oh, my God.
41:13Yes.
41:14So, designers, there really wasn't a worst of the group.
41:20It's just picking the smallest things out.
41:23That being said, we're going to ask you to leave the runway while we decide who will win and who will go home.
41:33Okay, so the challenge was to create a gown fit for royalty.
41:37I think that they all delivered.
41:39Yes.
41:40But let's decide who stays, who goes home.
41:43I can genuinely say I do not know who's going home.
41:46I know.
41:47Or who's winning.
41:48So we know who's safe.
41:50Hester and Fabio, Bishmi and Rami fall somewhere in the middle.
41:56Agreed.
41:57Agreed.
41:58Let's do the fun part first and decide who gets the crown tonight, shall we?
42:01Yes, please.
42:02Between Laurence and Carason and Cato and Praje.
42:07I am partial to Laurence and Carason's look.
42:11There's a lightness, a freshness.
42:14And as an individual piece, that's probably the dress you'd be most likely to wear to an event in New York.
42:19Exactly.
42:20But Cato and Praje had an exuberance.
42:25There's just those magical moments sometimes in fashion when it all comes together.
42:30It so rarely happens, but it's such a joy to witness.
42:33And for me, Cato and Praje tonight have that.
42:37Now for the hard part, we have to decide the losing team.
42:40And beyond that, we have to decide who's going home.
42:43Who wants to start?
42:44Oh, God.
42:45Not it.
42:46Not it.
42:47What's really challenging about picking who's going home is that Victor and Cain
42:54and Anna and Brittany had two very different problems.
42:59I was frankly bored by what Anna and Brittany sent down the runway.
43:03But on the other hand, I was overwhelmed by what Victor and Cain put down the runway.
43:09One of them was giving us full-time Vegas, and the other one is just basic and cliche.
43:18If Anna and Brittany are our least favorite team, who goes home?
43:21Who did the mesh arms?
43:23That's who needs to go home.
43:25Brittany did the upper half, which was the arms.
43:28Anna did that skirt.
43:30The overskirt is the culprit because the weight of that took an ephemeral light dress and stretched it down.
43:35Yes.
43:36But if Victor and Cain were our least favorite team, who would go home?
43:40Victor told us he made the corset.
43:44And if that's what's the problem, then Victor should go.
43:47But what we don't like about this look is how costumey it is, and Cain is a costumer.
43:53So I think we know who is going home.
44:00Let's get the designers out here.
44:04Okay, designers.
44:05We have two favorite looks of the night.
44:09Cato and Praje, and Laurence and Carassonne.
44:14Your two teams delivered exactly what we were looking for.
44:18The winning team is...
44:20Cato and Praje.
44:32But only one designer could be crowned the overall winner tonight.
44:38Cato.
44:45Congratulations.
44:47Cato scene.
44:49Your look together had an authenticity that is so important to fashion.
44:54It felt unique. It felt true. It was really beautiful.
44:56Thank you so much.
44:58To get this win in a group challenge, I think it's amazing and it definitely shows.
45:02Watch out for her. She has something to say.
45:04Laurence, Carassonne, Praje, you are all in.
45:08Thank you. Thank you.
45:09Hester and Fabio, Bishmi and Rami. We also loved your looks and you are all in.
45:19You may lead the runway.
45:20Brittany and Anna, Victor and Kane, unfortunately someone from the losing team will be up.
45:33Brittany and Anna, your look felt like you played it safe.
45:39Victor and Kane, your look needed editing.
45:48It was more costume than fashion.
45:51This was an extremely difficult decision for all of us.
46:00Victor.
46:01You're out.
46:06I'm so sorry.
46:08Brittany, Anna and Kane, you are in.
46:14Victor, what we saw of you was fantastic.
46:19And I know that you have that talent in you.
46:22I'm just happy to be here in front of Nina because I admire you so much.
46:28You're my queen.
46:29You're a goddess.
46:30I am really sad to see you go.
46:34And I'm very proud of you.
46:35Thank you guys so much.
46:37I really, it really means a lot.
46:38You can all leave the runway.
46:43We have to remember there's no immunity this season.
46:45So one design can be your best and then the next design can be not well received.
46:52Oh my God, everyone's safe.
46:53You're safe?
46:54I'm going home.
46:56What?
46:58Yeah.
46:59I'm very sad.
47:00I wanted to make it to the end.
47:01I wanted you guys to see a lot more of me.
47:03It's going to be a few months of hard doubting myself.
47:06What did I do wrong?
47:07But it's part of growth.
47:09You know you're incredible.
47:10I know you're incredible.
47:11Feel good.
47:12Because it was still fabulous.
47:14Thank you, Christian, for everything.
47:15I admire you.
47:18Bye.
47:19Bye.
47:21I'm grateful for everything.
47:23But I'm also going to miss being on the runway in the rush.
47:32Next on Project Runway All Stars.
47:34What is happening?
47:35Oh my God.
47:36Oh my God.
47:37Each of you must create a runway look from this single bolt of fabric.
47:45What are you doing?
47:46The crotch is a little monkey.
47:47I'm starting to feel fear .
47:50This challenge was about standing out, and yours stood out.
47:54They do realize they've seen this dress since this competition started, right?
47:57I'm done.
47:58Get some bullshit out of here.
