00:00Hey Vogue, I'm Dua Lipa.
00:01We're in Atlanta, Georgia on the Radical Optimism Tour
00:04and I'm about to introduce you to Lorenzo Pissocco,
00:06my stylist, and we're gonna show you some of the looks.
00:09Come on.
00:14This is Lorenzo Pissocco, my stylist
00:18and one of my closest friends.
00:19We have been working together for 10 years.
00:2310 years.
00:25We've really grown up together.
00:26I mean, I was already grown up.
00:27Yeah, you were grown up.
00:29We met in London in 2015
00:33and I was doing the cover of an Italian magazine
00:37and Lorenzo was the stylist on it.
00:40To be honest, it was kind of like love at first sight.
00:42We kind of had this like immediate closeness.
00:45Everything was fun and light,
00:47but also I think there was just like immediate trust.
00:50We were just both so in it creatively.
00:53It was, and always, it's just really fun.
00:57The creative of the Radical Optimism Tour
00:59was so much about natural elements.
01:01So there's water, there's fire, there's air.
01:04Of course, there's a lot of space things because there's a lot of that resemblance in my music.
01:09And so I guess it was for us just sitting down and dissecting how we can match something
01:15that felt really grand and high fashion.
01:18That works for stage.
01:20That also works with the story of the record.
01:25The show is five acts.
01:26Five acts.
01:27But then in some acts, we add pieces on and take them off.
01:32So I guess in total, it's about like seven looks.
01:35I mean, seven, eight.
01:37So we start with the Jean Paul Gaultier.
01:40I'm obsessed with this one.
01:41Also, it just shines so much.
01:43There's no other jewelry or accessories or anything.
01:46Like this is the whole, this is the look.
01:48And then what we like is just the way the leather.
01:51It starts getting a little bit worn and creased.
01:54We love that.
01:54I love that feeling because it makes it feel almost like a bit vintagey.
01:59We started with like satin pastels that went into that kind of watery effect.
02:05And then the second song end of an era is with feathers.
02:07So it all kind of lent itself to like water, air, the pastels.
02:11And this kind of like showgirl kind of like of attitude.
02:15I love because it looked like a picture from the 50s, 40s, you know, just like it's very magical.
02:22I mean, on stage.
02:24And it's very difficult to create something that it could read also in that way.
02:28Just like especially on a big stage with lightning and everything.
02:31And so we created this very feminine, very romantic, but at the same time strong.
02:36Because the first look on stage is very, very powerful.
02:40I love a heel. I feel really confident in a heel and I feel like I can do anything.
02:46When I'm dancing so much, it's really important to have a lot of ankle support.
02:52And so boots have always lent themselves to that.
02:55It has to be like a certain like heel, the zip on the side, and then the structure, the point.
03:02I feel lucky to have shoes custom made to really help aid the performance.
03:08We go into the Gucci look. So that happened second.
03:11There was like this moment with a chair, which is like iconic.
03:15And in the first part of the tour, there was Valentino doing this.
03:18So it was like the catsuit with Krystal and Verosky.
03:21We did it in the red, in the black, in the white.
03:24And then for the US tour, also Gucci.
03:27I feel like it really complements like the visuals of that part of the set,
03:31which is to begin with quite bright lights.
03:34And then the image on the screen is kind of this black and white burlesque kind of imagery.
03:39And then when we go into levitating and it goes into more of the cosmos,
03:43the outfit almost looks like it's part of the background.
03:46You know, we're all kind of in this space world, which is also a little nod to future nostalgia.
03:52Then we move into the band part of the show, which is to me, one of my favorite.
03:59It's just kind of this intimate moment of me and the band in the middle of the arena.
04:04I guess what I love about the show overall is it shows all the different sides of me.
04:10The band part is such an important part for me because it's really how everything started as well.
04:15The first tour we ever did together, which was really small,
04:19it was a suit jacket and a bra and baggy pants.
04:22I feel like this show just takes me on like down memory lane.
04:26And then we go into the club part, which is more fun and just like crazy and rave.
04:31And we did two looks with the optical for the first two legs of the tour.
04:36And then we did Courage for the stadium tour in the UK.
04:40And this time we thought like to bring Chanel in that part.
04:45It's very heavy.
04:46It's about seven kilos.
04:48Yeah.
04:49And then also with the gloves and everything.
04:51So this is really a workout in itself.
04:54I'm obsessed with this look.
04:56For the club section, when the lights kind of go down,
04:58you want something that really stands out in low visibility club lighting,
05:03something that really kind of catches your eye and lends itself really perfectly to the moment in the show.
05:11I feel like nothing shines brighter than that Chanel.
05:14It does its own talking.
05:15It's amazing.
05:15Yeah.
05:17Inspiration was this Kirsten Tallentown look worn like in the 90s.
05:21And it's a real special piece.
05:23Yeah.
05:24And that also has the necklace too, which is also heavy.
05:27It's just too fab to not do it.
05:29I'll let you do anything for the passion.
05:30Yeah.
05:32We go into Balenciaga.
05:34I'm in love with this look.
05:35So the shoes are attached to the tights.
05:38Here we had to do a little modification.
05:40We have like our elastic in here.
05:43So when I'm dancing, my foot's not just going to fly out of the shoe.
05:47And then we got a matchy bra with this beautiful silhouette.
05:52We tried the coat on and to a set like Lorenzo is too heavy.
05:55Really, really heavy.
05:56It is very heavy.
05:57I'm literally like, I'm suspended in mid-air.
06:01And I'm wearing this incredibly heavy coat.
06:04And I'm trying to do my moves.
06:06And it's so heavy, but it looks really good.
06:10It looks amazing.
06:11And I'm like, all right, fuck it.
06:12I'll do it.
06:13It doesn't matter.
06:14When we saw the fire and the coat on top, I was like, no, this is so iconic.
06:19It's too much fun not to suffer a little bit for it.
06:22I mean, it's good for me, but I mean, I don't know for her.
06:27Nice for you to look at.
06:30Oh, cotton candy pink as well.
06:32I'm obsessed.
06:32I love this color.
06:34We've done white.
06:34We've done red.
06:35We've done electric blue.
06:37Actually, it was amazing because for the UK, we did like a Union Jack reveal.
06:41That was very, very fun.
06:43I also like went through like insane downpour in Liverpool.
06:47It was like torrential rain and it was amazing.
06:54It didn't go like what you'd think like a drowned rat would look like.
06:57Actually, it stayed really intact.
07:01It can really weather any storm.
07:04And then the Schiaparelli, that is our encore costume.
07:08Honestly, every time I wear it, I feel so lucky.
07:13The ribs on it and the detailing and the little mirrors.
07:17I mean, this is like the most incredible showpiece.
07:21The cage is from like a Schiaparelli archive.
07:25And this kind of embroider is an inspiration from the collection.
07:28And Daniel was also like, remember what she worn for the golden gloves
07:32because the design was the same.
07:35I love that dress so much.
07:36I didn't even think for a second to try and see if I could sit in it.
07:39And I was like, OK, I love this outfit.
07:42It's perfect.
07:43I walked there.
07:43I got on a big bus.
07:45I took the picture.
07:46And then it got to the point where I had to sit down on a chair.
07:49And I was like, oh, fuck.
07:51Like, I actually can't.
07:53So I like proceeded to pretty much lay down on the whole golden globe.
07:58So I was like horizontal.
07:59And so it was really fun collaborating with Schiaparelli and creating something that's
08:03just such an incredible couture piece for the show.
08:06But it'd be something that I can do cartwheels in basically.
08:09Taking like fashion pieces on stage is always like very challenging.
08:16But that's what we want.
08:17Yeah.
08:18So just like we always trying.
08:21We work with big fashion houses since like also future nostalgia tour.
08:25I mean, the Mugler moment was like iconic.
08:27It's so different when it comes to preparing for something that's like red carpet.
08:32And then it's completely different for how you prepare for a tour.
08:35Usually we do a lot of show rehearsals.
08:37It's basically down to a timer.
08:39So we know exactly how long the break is from one act into the other.
08:45I'm completely naked.
08:46Yeah.
08:47When I'm doing my quick change.
08:50It's basically a choreographed dance where we know exactly what pieces come off first.
08:55I do some things.
08:56They do something slowly.
08:57We like wiggle it down.
08:58And then it's like, all right, one thing.
08:59Then the bra.
09:00Then the pants.
09:01Then, you know, everything's in a specific order.
09:05And we've timed it over and over again.
09:07And now we're like, there's so much buffer time.
09:10We get so good at it.
09:11And I'm glad that it's not part of my job because I'm not good at all.
09:15I'm not a quick changer for sure.
09:18I have the vision, but that's it.
09:21For hair, we do the same thing every night.
09:23And we just go for sexy show hair, hair that just moves really beautifully throughout the show.
09:29The sweatier I get as the show moves on, it works well with all of that.
09:35And for the makeup, almost like a disco influence.
09:38There's always a lot of sparkle and shine.
09:41And we love shimmer on the lips.
09:42And working with Katie, she loves glitter as much as I do.
09:46It really complements the wardrobe and it really goes with every look.
09:50When we work about a dancer, it's like, it's all part of the picture.
09:54It's important for me to keep the elements very consistent also to Dua looks.
09:58So we're working with the same colors, same silhouette, but of course, in a different way.
10:03You know, just like Dua needs to pop in between the dancer.
10:06But at the same time, they need to be on the same page of her.
10:09We want to make sure that everybody feels good.
10:12And so everything gets altered and fixed and changed until every single person feels really confident.
10:18When you like what you're wearing, when you feel good in it, when you feel empowered and confident,
10:22then you're like, performance is like easy.
10:24You don't have to worry about other things.
10:29All right, guys, I gotta go.
10:30I gotta change into my first look and I'll see you guys right outside.
10:39All right, ready in my first look, ready for stage, and I gotta go.
10:45Everyone's waiting for me.
10:46Mwah!
10:47See ya!
