00:00The Football Association of Malaysia has confirmed that it received an official notification from FIFA over its alleged breach of Article 22 of FIFA's disciplinary code, which relates to forgery and falsification.
00:13In a statement, FAM Acting President Yusof Mahadi said the association will appeal the decision by FIFA on the fine and suspension over allegations of doctored documentation involving seven new mixed-heritage players in the Harimau Malaya squad.
00:30He said FAM and the players involved had all acted in good faith and with full transparency throughout the process.
00:37According to Yusof, FAM followed procedures and guidelines as required by FIFA in managing the players' documentation and that FIFA had previously reviewed and cleared the players' eligibility to represent Malaysia.
00:50Yesterday, FIFA's disciplinary committee said FAM must pay a fine of 350,000 Swiss francs while each of the seven players were fined 2,000 Swiss francs.
