00:00Moving on to Brazil, social movements in Rio de Janeiro held the debate Brazil and Venezuela
00:06passed to Latin American unity and popular sovereignty.
00:09The event was supported by the National Mutual Solidarity Movement as well as academics and
00:14social leaders.
00:15They spoke about the pressure of imperialism throughout Latin America, especially in Cuba
00:21and Venezuela.
00:22They also warned that the militarization of the region, not only in the Caribbean but
00:26throughout South America, poses a danger to the entire continent.
00:30Furthermore, they emphasize the importance of protecting Venezuela to preserve Latin America
00:35as a zone of peace.
00:43We are aware of the pressure exerted by imperialism throughout Latin America, especially in Venezuela
00:50and also in Cuba.
00:51That is why we have an obligation to help mobilize to create, let's say, a body of
00:56ideas and people so that we can counteract that.
01:00What is happening with the militarization of the region, not only in the Caribbean but also
01:04in the rest of the continent, is a major threat to all of Latin America, but particularly to
01:08all of South America.
01:10The defense of Venezuela at this time is the defense of Latin America as a territory of peace
01:15and the defense of sovereignty throughout the continent.
